BrickJoke - immediately creates a link to the Brick Joke trope page.

See, I just created 2 new entries, and none of those actually are highlighted.

EDIT: OH, I see, I have to use the correct set of words!

Yeah, I can see you got a few new ones in there, good job. Hopefully, I'll add a few more tomorrow, but trawling around in there is a goddamn timesink and it's not exactly easy to find a coherent list of applicable tropes.
I wish a few Tropers on that site would volunteer to comb through our ops and do a bang-up job without any payment. But it seems we must do it ourselves...shame.

Often is easy to even miss one, and so on. The best way to update the page is that everyone does a quick reading and find some big one.

I think so. I mean, without the presence of Calizorinstan, Cosgravia, Britcan, Lancearc, and Tiger Kingdom, this is like dying.

I kinda have to wait for other people to post, I'm still very determined not to let this patient die. And Cali's still plugging away, as hes already made clear.
Corda's having tech issues and should be back at some point. Lance has been inactive across the board, and he says he plans to return as well s soon as he can. I'll try to get in touch with Brit. As for Cos, I really don't know what's up.

Why what?
Literally everyone else is temporarily absent, dealing with technical issues, or totally AWOL (presumably due to school). I kinda can't control that. And this single op is now kinda too big to cancel and reboot.
I was actually planning on updating this more today, but there's only so much RPing that can be done in an RP meant for a larger group of people that's only being updated on any sort of regular basis by two people.
And I do still want to keep this going, but apparently circumstances are conspiring against me on that.
I'm not cancelling this though; it may take forever but it'll get done.

The Question is, forget it. I know, TK, I too have many activities, but from what I look now, no one seems particularly interested with this, anymore. I'm not saying that the others feel this, but this is what I'm think now.

OK, if I understand you correctly, you're asking why I'm not shutting this down? Is that correct?
The answer is, is because I'd rather not. And I do believe people will be returning fairly soon - Cali already talked to me, and Brit's still around.
We're going through a fairly rough patch, but that can be gotten through, and there are applicants who still want in.
If you want to leave, though, that's your prerogative.

No, of course not.

I'm asked you, why you want to shut this down, because no one post in the OOC thread for about 5 days. And I'm not leaving. I intend to revived this.

I'm going to say that the lack of posting has to do mostly with schoolwork. Look at how quickly the first two missions were completed when (probably) everyone was off for the summer, but once school started back up it's taken 2 months to get to where this mission is currently. I know when I was in school, sometimes I'd go a couple weeks without posting on my RP (fortunately that RP was based on independent operations, so it didn't really matter).

On the bright side, this gives me plenty of time to create my character's backstory.

True that; I'm looking forward to hearing from your guy once we start the new op (WHICH WILL HAPPEN, I swear).
I'm also trying to get in touch with the people who I can see are still around, to see if we can get a full-court press on this thing going and finish it off quickly.

I love this, but I think that it came during summer, and now we are in fall. People priorities changed with school, and the whole RP scrambled apart.

I suggest a complete reboot, so we can also order somethings and make it more ordinate. We can also use this chance to reset the Tropes so we can actually check them one by one and fill the page properly.

So, starting in 1939 again? Or maybe rebooting the whole squadron in 1940?
I think that latter idea might be workable, but then I just get the feeling if we could plug through this hard patch - and we don't have that much farther to go, and I could abbreviate it even further if necessary - then we could have the downtime we need to restructure and reform the group to something that would work in the off-season, as well as work out the tropes page.
Rebooting is essentially the last resort, although if we must do it, I will.

Ok, I hope too to avoid reboot. I think the best thing now is just to end this mission ASAP.

Here's a thought: instead of going completely dormant until we have the strength to mount another mission with the complete squadron, maybe we could have a sort of Battle of Britain free-for-all thread where those of us who have the time to post can be temporarily "loaned" to different squadrons as replacement pilots, that way we can create our own individual little adventures and participate without having to wait for others to post. We could even make the timeline independent of our major operations, that way when one comes up we can pause our solo missions and resume them afterwards, and keep going as long as we want.

Some of the pilots already have a fairly rediculous amount of kills, especially considering that they are RAF pilots and we're only in 1940, I don't think we need a thread for us just to shoot down enemy planes.

Britcan wrote:Some of the pilots already have a fairly rediculous amount of kills, especially considering that they are RAF pilots and we're only in 1940, I don't think we need a thread for us just to shoot down enemy planes.

I was thinking that that thread would be like a time bubble, so while the squadron timeline would progress through the war, that thread would always stay in 1940. As I envision it, you could fly a mission in that thread, pause that mission while you complete a mission in the Excalibur timeline, then during the downtime period after that mission go back to the BoB thread and resume the previous mission or start another mission a few days after the last one in 1940. That way we can keep busy no matter how long the downtime between missions.

As for inflating kill counts, we could make it a non-canonical thread so kills in that thread don't count in the regular timeline. Or maybe make it an alternate timeline, like "what would your character's war be like if he didn't join Excalibur Squadron"

Just some food for thought there.

If its a separate non-canonical thread they we may as well just do other RPs. I really don't see the point. I suppose the alt-timeline thing could work though.
