On a related note, we should have Excalibur squadron fly in some B-17s later on in the RP.

Man, I appreciate the thought (and the sudden withdrawal thereof), but I just got twelve of those fancy-ass WW2 Time-Life encyclopedias, so I'm basically on Cloud 9 as it is.
Only twenty-seven more to go!

It's just what I wanted!
Those are terrible bomber pilots. They're bad and they should feel bad. Also, the mark continuity is all over the place.
I've barely slept in three days and this upsets me more than it should.

escort bomber, technically known as the YB-40, basically a B-17 with a second dorsal turret place of the radio operators spot and twin .50 mounts at the waist gun position. it was a failure as a bomber escort but could possibly work as a CAS plane similar to the original AC-47's in Vietnam.

It was a tragic day when the announcer at the officer school read off cutlers name wrong.
The rest of the graduating class keeled over in laughter, the men that he was to lead pointed and laughed. Even the king smirked when he found out. Word traveled throughout the commonwealth, from the UK to Canada to new Zealand and australia. Tears of joy streamed down the faces of the countless millions under the crown.
And he shall forever be known as "Cuntler."
Also, "Balks hard hitting questions" will be a thing.

Best I could find was for a field squadron; seven officers and 178 airmen grouped in three rifle flights, a support weapons flight and an armoured car flight from October 1942.

...it could be it's in some old book somewhere. Maybe I could take a look in the UW library and get some info to you if I find anything, they've got some pretty interesting and arcane WW2 stuff...

That was from The RAF Regiment at War 1942-1946 by Kingsley M. Oliver, most probably THE RAF Regiment historian (he also served with the Regt and his other book on 'em can be downloaded for free).
Though the rifle flights were at least based in part on an Army infantry platoon, with perhaps adaptation for the RAF ranks and structure (ie, no Lance Corporals).
