You're too eager to get the job. So probably badly.

Not an insult - but people eager to get the job shouldn't be well considered for it.

Best way to get remotely considered would be to hang around Traveller's Cafe, offer advice, help in discussions, and training newbies. But for the sake of helping the community, not getting a shiny name.

Right, so I should just stick to what I'm doing because I don't think I can handle training CAP cadets AND new RPers at the same time.

However, I do like helping those that join my RP if I can, so there's that.

...Depends if this actually gets locked. If it doesn't, and just sinks at 500 with no further posts, then you could still edit. If it does get locked (which it probably will), then no, you won't be able to edit.
I would recommend copying over dossiers to Word or something just in case, because if it does get locked, any of the formatting will get obliterated.
