Meh, the Trade Federation, yes, but in reality, the CIS was supposed to win the Clone Wars, only the Jedi and the unprecedented skill of the Clones made it flop the other way.

Yes, but that doesn't mean they can't have good tactics.

Think about it in relation to this RP. How would its quality be if every Luftwaffe pilot had the flying skills of a toddler? Its pretty much like that.

Well, actually, you should of used the Spanish, they didn't actually have anyone good, and they were the precursors to this war. The Luftwaffe is more like the Separatist Army, a lot more organized, a lot more vicious, a lot more annoying and bothersome.

...As a MASSIVE EU fanboy, I'm going to have to ask you to source that.
Palpatine absolutely planned for everything - through the Sidious persona, he set the CIS up to fail repeatedly, Kamino and Boz Pity being perfect examples. He did not want to rule as the shadowy Sith Lord behind the scenes, he wanted to stay the Chancellor. Besides, a CIS victory would have resulted in an even more fragmented galaxy, as opposed to one under a reunited and supermilitarized Republic that he could easily turn into an Empire.

Also, this makes no sense. Even though the literature on the aerial part of the Spanish Civil War is hopelessly mired in talking about the Condor Legion at the expense of everything else, looking at the top kill lists disroves that idea. Of the top ten aces, seven of them are Spanish, including the ace of aces for the war.
Why would they "not have had anyone good"?

Regardless of tech, just like the Trade Federation, the Spanish did look good, but they were hopelessly overran in the coming World War. Germany quickly absorbed them into the Axis Powers and with the majority of their air force being German or Italian planes or simply license-made versions of the planes. This is similar to how the tech the CIS used, was simply in preparation for the larger war (Considering that during the Spanish Civil War, the Condor Legion as well as many other German resources were used to test several tactical theories Hitler had about war) and then at the outbreak of the actual war, the CIS absorbed the Trade Federation and utilized it in conjunction with its main forces. The main forces here would most likely be the Techno Union and Banking Clan (though the former was apprehensive about joining the Galaxy-wide Civil War that was the Clone Wars).

Except Spain was determinedly neutral during the entire war. The one real exception was sending the Blue Division to Russia, but that was hardly much of a commitment.
Kassaran wrote: Germany quickly absorbed them into the Axis Powers

Nope. Tell that to Hitler at Hendaye, as Franco demanded a shitload of resources and weapons that he knew Hitler couldn't give as essentially a bribe for Spain entering the war. Franco was totally, deliberately uncooperative - he knew what he was doing, and Hitler knew what he was doing. He knew Spain was a weakened state after the Civil War, and also knew he had to make like he was an ally to Hitler while also avoiding any actual fighting. So, he just kept saying that oh sure, he'd be glad to join his fascist German brothers, just as soon as they sent them a few dozen tankers full of oil, a few squadrons of 109s, and an entire panzer division's worth of tanks.
That's not how an "absorbed state" works. If they were "absorbed", Gibraltar would have fallen - no question - for just one example.
Kassaran wrote: and with the majority of their air force being German or Italian planes or simply license-made versions of the planes.

So what? All that means is that they didn't have a domestic air industry, which was the case in pretty much all of the minor powers. Being exclusively equipped with other countries' aircraft didn't stop the Finns from independently kicking unholy Soviet ass in Finland, for example.
And now massive topic shift...
Kassaran wrote:This is similar to how the tech the CIS used, was simply in preparation for the larger war (Considering that during the Spanish Civil War, the Condor Legion as well as many other German resources were used to test several tactical theories Hitler had about war)

They weren't really Hitler's theories as much as they were Sperrle's and von Thoma's ideas, seeing as how, you know, they were the actual commanders on the scene, but anyways.
Kassaran wrote: and then at the outbreak of the actual war, the CIS absorbed the Trade Federation and utilized it in conjunction with its main forces.

The CIS wasn't a body that could "absorb" things independent of its own constituents, of which the Trade Fed was a founding member. You're basically saying that the TF absorbed itself here. Outside of Sidious and Dooku, there was extraordinarily little actual executive power in the CIS, sort of like the US under the Articles of Confederation, with similarly disastrous results.
Kassaran wrote:The main forces here would most likely be the Techno Union and Banking Clan (though the former was apprehensive about joining the Galaxy-wide Civil War that was the Clone Wars).

Again, no idea what you're basing that off of, even in the EU - from what I've seen, the TF forces were always emphasized in the EU with the implication that they were the largest partner overall. The TU provided the shipping fleet, and the IBC mainly provided the money.

I'll probably give you the first one, though the War of 1812 the US attacked first and it ended with a draw in Britain's favour (based upon the US' supposed war aim of annexing Canada not happening).

I know jack about the War of 1812, only that it was a draw, the British burnt Washington and some ship named Constitution sank a few RN ships, half her size.

Granted.

Though with regards to the nature of the War of 1812 itself, the US did have a valid casus belli. And I did see a very convincing argument on NSG that while the outcome was status quo ante bellum, and all sides mostly got what they wanted, the US gained the most from the war.

You gained the most from it... but the US also gained the least of their war aims. Considering the British War Aims were 'fuck off and stop attacking Canada', and that's about it.
