The Ultanshi are running away from the Straits of Herz confrontation, and the Veritch are being trigger-happy and firing on the ship with spitters. You need to flip a coin to determine whether I hit the shit and disable it or miss.

You flip the coin so me or Misch dont alter the outcome to our favor. I call heads, that the spitter misses. Tails if the spitter hits my ships mast.

A masquerade? Shiny. The song from Phantom of the Opera immediately came on in my head.

@ Dan: Kidnap, definently kidnap. Everyone knows space jellies are supposed to do that sort of thing.

Do some dances and summon the magical Chestnut Elves. But really, uh. I really don't know. I mean, they are your people, so you know them best.

And G-Tech, the mask in my post is one of the Phantom of the Opera masks, with the rose! Its been ages since I had seen the movie. Even longer since I have seen an actual play of it.

Well, you are mainly in farm land. There is, though, a giant castle like cathedral up on some mountain nearby. If you go there, you will be treated nicely.

I guess I'll wander over there. If all else fails, we can crawl in and look at some technology, see some new smelting tricks.

Next post on the way.

Either later in this post, or perhaps in a different post, I'm going to start a eugenics program among the Kalululichi.

The Veritch approve.

But I guess the Veritch are just...really trigger-happy. I mean, in the span of four posts, I've attacked the Basajuan Queen, disabled an Ultanshi ship, killed a Vika representative and boarded an Alliance/Hegemony ship.

...............I need to tone it down a bit. But the Veritch overreact a lot, so.

I think the Vika and them are going to get along just fine

So, I guess the language of the Ultanshi is something everyone knows? :meh: (I'd prefer if not everyone knew it though, it sort of eliminates the reason they have one. Id figure English was a standard language.)
Its also called 'Raimah', their language. If you compared it to a real language, it would be a mix between German and English.

Well, no. I figured since you knew the Vika, they probably knew you guys, and hopefully some of your language. And since the Veritch know you, we'd know some of your language. And then we could hopefully communicate.

Maybe you could have two languages? One for the 'other species' or trade, and another for Ultanshi themselves?

I figured they might. Basically, among the higher-floating clans, they're going to start selecting for the most tolerant of low pressures, by breeding the highest fliers together. The concept of individual parentage is a little alien to the Kalululichi, because usually the young are produced by a mother who breeds with many males, and then grow up among the entire band, and so it's going to take some research to get this to work.
