Tyranids don't care. I'll summarize by misquoting Walt Disney Pictures' 2003 Box Office Success, Finding Nemo:

"Friends are food."

But seriously, contact me if you want. I can't really eat you or harvest your organs, so it's up to you.

Good basis for friendship right there, I must say.

I need to watch out that the Tyranids don't get ahold of one of my guys. I dread to think how useful that DNA would be to them. Although I'm sure they can build flying types from birds and stuff to get them to a certain height.

I'm remaking my app, it's going to be a tribal state made of Ogres and Cyclops.

Well, Cyclops are incredibly unintelligent and are really only good for physical labour, bodyguards, and nasty brutes on the battlefield. Ogres keep them fed and make up the bulk of the population. Also, might throw in some Gargoyles.

In earlier posts when I stated that the Urmotiles were wielding "hand held cannons" I meant that they were using crude firearms, as we know in real life Firearms were first invented in the 12th century in China, appropriate since my place is geographically in the Far East. They're larger than muskets only to keep proportional with the size of my Urmotiles so they effectively evolved from my cannons.

This looks like a fun race to play with... they would indubitably have a lot of fun with the 'Nids.

That said, their DNA might be just a bit too !!FUN!! of a playtoy....

Mmmkay. Also, not to prod you to kill him or nothing, but technically Delas is just standing in the middle of your high chamber think. I can RP as him having left if you want.

Oh, I thought he had left already. He can just turn into air can't he? You should keep him on Braazna, to continue observing.

Well, technically. I prefer not to do that, since it seems a bit low-down and dirty to have lads just floating around. Plus there are valid reasons the Chosen stay in a roughly humanoid form. But okie-dokes, I'll send him on his way.

Well, if the Tyrannids are anything like the ones in Warhammer 40K, you basically just condemned our entire planet to a painful and long death at the jaws of the Hivemind. No biggie.

I'll have the Veritch be hit by a DEUS EX MACHINA burst of gamma rays that suddenly and magically turns them into another hivemind, because why not.

I, for one, welcome our new giant sentient crab/spider hivemind variants that can shoot acid overlords.

But......giant acid-spitting crabs, unified as one! Just imagine this scene for a minute.

Farmers working in the fields, children herding chickens, trees and wheat rippling in the cool breeze. Peaceful, quiet. Calm and relaxed.

And then they look up at the hills around them, and see a GIANT HORDE OF GIANT SPIDER-CRAB VARIANTS ATTACKING THEM ALL AT ONCE. Spitting acid as they charge down the hills, they reduce much of the farmhouse and the people living there to an ashy mess, and then scythe the remaining down with their razor sharp pincers. Wheeling and moving as one, they're an unstoppable mass of acid-spitting sharpness, ready to pillage and burn their way to greatness!

A bit over the top, but you get the point. So many people forget about the true glory of the Veritch, their ability to spit acid.

And then I forget what I was going to say, in the face of so much awesome.

Hopefully there'll be a confrontation between the Tyranids and MLM at some point. MLM would be destroyed, but at least it would slow the TYranids down while the Veritch and the Chosen get ready to fight them back. Much of this planet's future history will probably be composed of trying to survive in the face of the Tyranid onslaught. I foresee many stateless nations forming.

I'm quite sad that we don't have any undiscovered continents anywhere, nowhere people can colonise, which can then go independent. That would yield some very interesting countries, as well as catalyse development.

Destroyed? Ha! Maybe on the mainland, but they'll never take Braazna, and especially not the mountain citadel MLM is in.

What. Whatever gave you the impression that the Veritch would fight against the Tyrannids? Now that the Basajuan have allied with them, there's no way we'd go up against both Basajuan and the Tyrannids.

Dude, if the Tyranids wanted to destroy you, they could do it. It wouldn't be amazingly easy, but they could definitely do it. There's huge amounts of biomass on the continent for them to take in, and they'll soon have eaten enough motiles and Prime base cells to know your entire DNA. They can just emerge from everywhere, and eat the immotiles. Ooze out from the ground, drop in from the skies, come in over or under the water, however they please. And there will soon be huge numbers of them. They may well hit a billion before too long; they've got a lot of continent to play with.

For the record, there are going to need to be some major handicaps regarding the Tyranid player for this to be a fair RP. There's no way they should be capable of all the things the Tyranids in 40k are.

We'd die horribly no matter which way we went. This way, we at least have a few years of peace before dying horribly.

If we just allow things to run their course, without interference (eg meteor strikes, plagues, etc), I see the world in three hundred years to be a wasteland composed of billions of Tyranids, with large numbers of Chosen still roaming as they please, and a couple of my guys hiding in the uppermost reaches of the atmosphere, trying desperately not to be picked off by the 'Nids. Everyone else will be dead.

I think they're significantly weakened? Also the Lord Thy Mod is in the wings to smite them if they get uppity. That said, I have my own plans for the 'Nids.
