Press Conference to announce something

"America has been lead to dark places by both the Republicans and Democrats, that is why me and my associate have broken from these parties. And we would like to announce, starting today, I, Ashley Kohl, and my associate Jonathan Wright, officially announce our candidacy for the positions of President and Vice President of the United States of America!"

Murmuring broke out in the crowd. A third party ticket, with a Democrat and Republican?

"We also announce the formation of the United America Party, a party for democrats and republicans who wish to cooperate on the issues, instead of resolving to mudslinging and name-calling, which is a sick insult to the democratic process of America. Join us, and we shall forge a new future for the United States!"

Cheering ensued, and the two bowed.

The UAP was now in the race.

As usual, Prime Minister Erdogan was spending his breakfast time looking over the latest news reports. One that mildly interested him was the formation of the "United America Party", which promised to unite both Democrats and Republics.

"Oh please," Erdogan scoffed, "Are they joking?"

While Erdogan admired the UAP's desire to overcome partisanship, he couldn't imagine how the liberals and conservatives could work together--they simply disagreed on too many issues.

(Unicario has informed me of a time skip due to the plebiscite.)

DATE: 1 August, 2012
TIME: 09:12:34
PLACE: Capitol, Brasilia, Brazil

I sat back and watched the news. Israel had won the plebiscite, and the Golan Heights. France and US are butting heads over the matters of continued peacekeeping in the Golan Heights. Turkey has criticized us yet again... wait what?

I watched the news as the Representative from Turkey used our own words in a sentence. How dare they. Those stuck up, pompous bastards... they make the Portuguese look good. Yes. I do mean the former owners of what is now the Federative Republic of Brazil. And to think, we were actually about to propose further negotiations with Turkey!? Well, not anymore. I'm going to show those pica fodendo that we are not to be trifled with anymore. I quietly sent an email to Secretary General Ban Ki Moon on the matter and called in an aide. He looked at me nervously.

"Erm... yes President Rousseff?" He asked, fear in his eyes. I blinked and sighed.

"Call up some of our larger companies." I began. "Make sure you also call up the domestic recipients of our military contracts. Let them know that it is in their best interest to begin reducing the exports to Turkey at this time." He opened his mouth to speak, but I waved my hand. Let them suffer. They wouldn't know that we're doing this on purpose. The aide nodded and ran off.

After responding to the German President's offer, I read over some other news. Overall, nothing else of importance was happening... that was probably good. In the meantime, it would be good to prepare for the plan. I decided to take the time to do something useful and ordered two aircraft carriers, 24 cruisers, and 10 destroyers to be constructed and made sure they would be on par with those of superpowers such as China, the US, and Russia. I also ordered mass production of modernized rifles and submachine guns from Brazilian military contractors to spur the economy.

I yawned and sipped my tea silently. Today might be a good day.

Istanbul, Turkey

Prime Minister Erdogan sat in his suite at a luxury hotel in Istanbul. He had been staying in the city for 3 days, and he had been thoroughly enjoying a mini-vacation. Still, it was his job to stay updated on world news, so this morning he was reading The New York Times, Time magazine, and Posta.

As was to be expected, most of the Middle East was enraged over what had been going on in the Golan Heights. Tensions had flared between Israel and its Arab nations in the last few weeks. And yet, to Erdogan's astonishment, the United Nations was ignoring this dangerous situation and instead squabbling over... a giant ice cube (Antarctica).

"Unbelievable," Erdogan scoffed.

Erdogan could name 100 things more important than Antarctica; North Korea, Palestine, global warming, the economic crisis in Europe, and the hellish situation in Africa, for starters. Instead, the world's leaders were discussing what to do with a remote, barren hunk of ice that held hardly any real value.

Zhongnanhai,
Beijing, China

Hu Jintao, Paramount Leader of the People's Republic of China, listened to what was being told to him. Jintao had now, for some time, been concerned with the practice of slavery that still took place throughout China, despite the regime's best attempts at thwarting it. This practice was most common in brick factories. Confiscated media footage showed him a level of corruption on the lower levels of government that appalled the man, alerting the human traffickers to escaped slaves and warning them of raids. Clearly, the Party was failing in its duties to the people and the Ministry of State Security was not helping. No, it was far too busy with international operations and combating internal dissent. It couldn't be bothered with fighting the cancer in China proper. That is to say, it could not effectively wage war on Chinese corruption and maintain its other duties effectively. The Political Department, long used to keep a watchful eye on members of the Party, was useless. A new agency was absolutely necessary, one exclusively used to wage war on corruption on all levels, one that draws from all of China's intelligence agencies. A political Commissariat. And that was exactly what he would have.

The advisers in front of him were dismissed, and several important members of the Party and intelligence agencies were called in. Hu asked them what it is they view, nodding diligently and giving them free ability to voice their opinions. Each was careful with his or her words, knowing what was coming and not wanting to be on the receiving end of it. This went on for several hours, until the grand scheme of things was developed, up to and including an official name for the new organization. It would be the Commissariat of Governmental Affairs of the People's Republic of China, and would be an independent branch of the Ministry of State Security. Its activities would involve infiltration of trafficking and assorted criminal elements in both mainland China and the SARS, covert investigation into Party and assorted governmental officials and bureaucrats believed to be corrupt, and would contain a militarized wing to deal with both. Hu would not allow his glorious People's Republic to grow sick from the festering wounds she had. No, he would treat them, he would cut out the malignant cancers that ailed her. He would be China's savior, and he would do so gladly.

It had begun, a great purge for the modern age.

President Islam Karimov was a very annoyed man. Reports informed him of increased Taliban activity along the border with Afghanistan and with the western powers leaving he assumed it would only get worst. Then there was Turkmenistan oh yes Turkmenistan he thought as he paced his office. ”Mr. President?” a voice asked “Enter.” he replied. In stepped Maj. General Bahodir Toshmatov “Mr. President, reports show that Taliban forces are specifically our oil production facilities and sir intelligence informs me they believe that Turkmenistan may have a hand in this.” The general finished. Karimov was enraged by those words “General are you certain the Turkmen are behind this? “ the general then added “Yes Mr. President it is no secret the Turkmen have Iran’s favour and also has long hoped of sabotaging our oil production to protect their own monopoly on the trade here in the region.” He finished with a grim tone.
Karimov soon returned to his pacing then stopped “General I seem to remember your colleague General Rustam Inoyatov’s plan for this problem Operation Tamerlane.” Toshmatov soon looked more grim “Yes sir however if the Iranians get involved how do I put this we’re screwed. Not to mention we will need the wests or at least Russia’s support for this move. And that’s after we begin to modernise the military for such an operation.” Karimov smiled “Don’t worry my old friend leave the west to me and you meet with the general staff to discuss this operation. Also I’m sure the west would be pleased to cooperate once we allow them access to our oil and other natural resources.” Leading the general out the door Karimov finished “Oh and General do not fail me. Goodbye.”

Prime Minster Dmitry Medvedev is scheduled this Sunday set off on a pan America diplomatic tour aiming at establishing and strengthening economic, diplomatic and military ties to the Americas. He is first set to arrive in Ottawa, Canada to attend talks relating diplomatic cooperation in international matters as well as discuss possible trade pacts and arms deals. Mr. Medvedev is then scheduled to land in San Diego where he is to attend a press conference with President Obama, where he will discuss possible solutions relating to the current global tensions and geopolitical affairs.

Mr. Medvedev is also to visit counties in Latin America such as Mexico, Cuba, Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil and he shall end his tour with a state luncheon in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Most of the topics of the meetings will be relating to economic and diplomatic issues, but military talks are also included. Russia is set to conclude the sale of 12 Su-27 fighter jets worth a total $500 million to Venezuela as well as set up joint military exercises with Venezuela and Argentina.

Al Qusayr Airbase, Syria

It was near dusk as the distant droning of jet engines echoed throughout the military base. Through the partial air cover descended the first of five Ilyushin Il-76 cargo planes, circling the base like fat bees as they waited for their turn to land. Syrian trucks and military personnel on the ground scrambled to the airfield as the leading plane stopped and began lowering it rear ramp. A man in a business suit walked down the ramp, flanked by private security guards. He smiled as he saw the Syrian troops lined up to greet him; he turned to the first man on the right of the lineup

“Ah, Colonel Muhammad I presume? I am Ivan Greco, here to represent Mr. Ashurbeyli in this transaction. I apologize for our tardiness, but we had to take the Lebanon route to evade Interpol.”

“It makes little difference Mr. Greco, my government is just happy that the goods managed get pass the border. These sanctions are becoming a real pain”

“I can hardly disagree with that, but then again, without these sanctions, I would be out of a job now aren’t I? Well, if you please, I will show you the goods”

The two men walked up the ramp to the plane as the guards stood watch outside of the plane. Mr. Greco flipped a switch and the cargo bay was flooded with light. Arranged in neat stacks were hundreds of wooden boxes labeled “humanitarian aid”.

“You there, open these up; the good colonel would like to see the goods”

A guard took a crowbar and forced a box open. Inside the box of “humanitarian aid” was five brand new Kalashnikovs. Three more boxes were opened, revealing homing missiles, RPGs, and ammo rounds by the thousand.

“Come with me Colonel, I would like to show you something”

The two men walked pass the boxes, though a door and into a second compartment of the cargo area. A large object covered by a tarp occupied most of the space. Mr. Greco, lifted the tarp. Under it, was a vehicle of obvious military purposes.

“Beautiful, isn’t it? The, Tor-M2E mobile missile system, one of the most advanced on the market. Able to shoot down fourth generation fighters dozens of kilometers away. Or it could be modified to operate long ranged missiles, which of course would drastically increase its range. We’re pacting three of these babies on our trip. I’m sure Mr. Assad would be pleased with this enhancement of his arsenal”

The Colonel was staring at the machine with a hungry look in his eye.

“Oh he will be Mr. Greco, you did a very fine job here. Let’s unload these goods as soon as possible. I will sign the receipt as soon as the last batch is unloaded”

“Very well Colonel, but let’s do this under a hanger. We don’t want our “humanitarian aid” to show on the cameras of American spy satellites do we?”

The two men walked out of the cargo bay and down the ramp. By then, all four other planes have landed and are in the process of being towed to the loading areas. Shouts in Arabic and Russian echoed throughout the base as the trade of old, the trade of death is conducted.

Ankara, Turkey

Noticing the militaristic actions of several nations (e.g. Germany), Prime Minister Erdogan decided that Turkey also needed to revamp its military--particularly its Air Force. Sitting at his desk, Erdogan decided to contact the Americans and see if President Obama was interested in making a deal.

The Republic of Turkey wishes to purchase 30 F-35 Lightning II aircraft at the price of $197 million/unit. Thus, the total cost would be approximately $5.91 billion. Please let me know ASAP if your government is interested in such a deal. Hopefully, this deal will not only benefit the U.S. financially but will also allow Turkey to more effectively confront our shared enemies (i.e. extremists, dictators, etc.)

Dear President Putin,

Russia's actions in Venezuela are merely inciting the reaction of the West -- If you recall some years ago, America and Russia reached a diplomatic agreement on a NATO missile shield in Poland -- By holding a military exercise in Venezuela, you are doing almost the same thing.

I would like to request you suspend the military exercise, as the United States cannot condone hypocritical behavior of a nation of Russia's history.

I stared in shock as the news came in. Just who the fuck did Putin think he was!? He wanted to come for a visit... and he sells arms to a person WE ALL HATE... and then he demands access to our nations!? Who the fuck does he think he is?

I'm getting tired of this bull crap from other nations. They think they can do what they want because they have more power than us... and Russia actually doesn't have that much more political influence than Brazil itself! I typed out an email, and "accidentally" leaked it to the leaders of South American and North American nations...

Mr. Medvedev,
I have a few words I wish to note to you...

1. You failed to give us any notice of any sort of visit to the Americas. It came unannounced and unsponsored. Not only that, but you expected us to have things ready for you as well.
2. I know that my ally from Argentina will not be standing with you on this matter. They have probably already denied you any audience with the leadership, and for good reason.

You see, you are aiding an enemy to South Americans everywhere. When an outside nation does such a thing... we South Americans... actually, we Americans of the Western Hemisphere, will put aside our differences, stand together, and refute the outsider. You have announced your aid and military exercise with a person we regard an oppressor and an enemy of the stability of the Americas.

Please note, we will not be sitting back as we have for years... we're finished with that. The United States of America knows it. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland knows it. And now sir, the Russian Federation knows it.

We will be calling all nations in the Americas (excluding Venezuela) for our own military exercises in the Caribbean and the Atlantic. We will not stand for such outrageous interference.

And yes Mr. Medvedev, this is a no to your meeting with us.

Barack Obama however, began to engineer a new industrial drive to create more military arms to replace the massive amount sold to foreign nations. Aswell, he signed into law the New Industrial Act, offering subsidies and lower taxes to companies willing to return factories to the United States and open doors to U.S. workers in said factories.

As a result, several factories from American companies had bought factories in the Midwest Region, and had begun to make plans to return to the United States by the end of 2015.

Ankara, Turkey

As he crept into his bed next to his wife, Erdogan thought about all that he had accomplished that day. He had (hopefully) arranged a deal with the U.S. that would equip the Turkish Air Force with 30 new stealth aircraft. In addition, he had signed an executive order that called for dramatically increased production of military vehicles, such as the ACV-AIFV armored vehicle, the T-70 helicopter, and the Kirpi MRAP.

All and all, it had been a productive day.

Berlin, Germany

The bill passed. Nationalistic Germans celebrated in Berlin waving German flags. Meanwhile, The "Changing the Education System" bill was sent to the Reichstag to vote. Merkel stated " The bill states that the education system is in need of a total rehaul, Current historical education for example puts Germans in a bad light , Its highly suggested the current generation is at fault for the past, Which is simply ludicrious." The piece of the constitution was edited and placed that "Germany will defend rights and freedoms across the world." Also, The 2+4 Treaty was brought up, And is being debated on at the Reichstag also.

Merkel also submitted a vote about the withdrawl of Afghanistan and many NATO missions... Germany also begines to secretly construct a new sub class, As well as name the new ship: The S.M.S Angela Merkel. We also begine new research on Assualt rifle designs and plane designs. Meanwhile, Merkel also messaged the Americans:

ENCRYPTION: Maximum.
SUBJECT: US military bases

Guten Tag! Mr. Barrack, Recently Germany has passed several new laws in reforming many things, Germans have agreed along with the government, That US military bases have served their purpose. We request that the United States allows Germany to take control over former US bases, The United States is allowed to operate 1 base outside of Berlin, If this is fine. The United States has always been a friend of ours, But we deem these bases unncesisary.

Karimov was ever more disturbed by the reports he was hearing the Taliban had begun launching suicide bombings in Uzbekistan’s cities already seventy people laid dead and another hundred wounded. As well intelligence showed the Turkmen government was launching attacks on ethnic Uzbeks within their borders. This has to stop Karimov thought enraged as ever before returning to his usual pacing. Suddenly his old friend Culture Minister Tursunali KuzIiyev entered “Mr. President my office just recieved the report and also Minister Xudoyberganov tells me hundreds of refugees are crossing the border!” the minister stated before sitting on the couch “Indeed intelligence believes those Turkmen dogs have been conducting pogroms! Not to mention the Taliban has begun bombing our cities this is all too coincidental.” Karimov added before returning to his desk. “Mr. President I may just be your minister of culture but even I know what the Turkmen want.” “And what is that Minister?” “They want us to launch an attack that will degrade us before the UN so they can claim innocence. My agents on the border tell me the Turkmen are calling this pogrom a move to weed out insurgents but the only people their targeting are Uzbeks!” KuzIiyev finished.

The cabinet was silent but everyone was enraged by the images they were watching dozens of ethnic Uzbeks shot attempting to flee the Turkmen menace. “My estimates show nearly seven hundred have been murdered or imprisoned by the Turkmen government.” General Bahodir Toshmatov stated before continuing “Only three hundred Uzbeks managed to reach our nation the others we fear are being hunted down.” Karimov sat infuriated for years he and the Turkmen had been friends now that was over now Uzbekistan must take action,” Send word to New York I wish to address the UN in one day. And if god allows it we will deal with these Turkmen dogs.”

“This is madness!” Yelled Bob Rae across the room as Stephen Harper read out the bill

“This will ultimately almost completely privities the Health care system. This will save a great deal of money for other programs and will offer efficient care for the Citizens of Canada.”

“Oh so the government is goanna stop caring for the people now are we. Just dump then to the corporate wolves!” yelled Thomas Mulclair

“Mr. Speaker the opposition behaviour is becoming unacceptable at this time” replied Harper and with that the chamber erupted in yelling.

“Order, Order. The member from Calgary southwest has the floor.” Said the Speaker of the house, Andrew Scheer

“Thank you Mr. Speaker. As I was saying this bill will offer Canadians the best of care and the most important thing to this government is that Canadians are cared for” Stephen Harper sat down and yelling once again started in the House of Commons

It was later decided that the Privatizing Health Care Bill would be voted on July 17th 2012

(I’m sorry if I didn’t follow direct House protocol, though this will move things on a little faster)

Felipe Calderón was sitting at his office when he got an email from Brazil. "Hmm it seems that several south american nations are upset that Prime Minister Medvedev is coming to North and South America." Felipe said. Felipe then thought long and hard about his next move.

"I could invite the Prime Minister over and have stronger bonds with Russia, but then the other Latin Nations will be upset. Or I can reject his offer and hurt Russian relationships but have the Latin nations happy."

Felipe decided to send an email to Prime Minister Medvedev.

From: President Felipe Calderón of Mexico.
Subject: Meeting.

Mr. Medvedev, Mexico welcomes you to come and visit. While you are here I hope that we can discuss more about our two countries. Perhaps we can make some deals and have the Russian-Mexican relation stronger. After all we are both members of APEC and my country has bought several military equipment from you several years ago and still today. Lets hope to come to an agreement for both of our nations.

Signed, Felipe Calderón

Kantei (Prime Minister's Residence)
Tokyo, Japan

Yoshihiko Noda was close to the end of his rope, and he knew it well. While the efforts to help the country recover from the earthquake and tsunami were giving their fruit, and the situation in the Fukushima Daichi nuclear reactor had improved substantially, Noda's Japan was still far from its previous glory.

The economy was still practically stagnant. The birth rates were still a lingering source of despair. The Diet was growing restless. The political system was in agony, with both the Liberal Democratic Party and the Democratic Party losing the people's feeble trust. And to top it off, the scandals revolving the mismanagement of the Fukushima issue had produced massive backslash.

Yoshihiko Noda had been Prime Minister of Japan for slightly less than a year, but he doubted he would be able to complete said stretch of time, let alone an entire term in office.

Noda stared through the massive windows of his office at Kantei. His face looked as tired and ravaged by stress as those of his four predecessors had. Long gone was the inner strength of the martial arts enthusiast.

If things did not improve soon...or a miracle came along...then Yoshihiko Noda's government would be done for.

That being said, Noda was not in a position to linger on such thoughts so much. He had a message to type, and then he had a meeting with the three Koizumi: Junichiro, the former Prime Minister; Shinjirō, the member of the Parliament; and finally, Kotaro, the actor. A meeting that would be anything but pleasant.

Greetings. As Head of the Government of Japan, I am honored to say that I wish to start discussions on the matters of trade and investment between our two great nations. In this current day and age, with so much economy uncertainty, the creation and strengthening of bonds of friendship and cooperation are invaluable things, even for the most prosper economic powers. With that in mind, I wish to enquire on the terms on which you would be willing to participate in such talks.

Yours faithfully,

Yoshihiko Noda
