The Avengers Alliance - Reign of Apocalypse (IC Posts Only)

Postby The Union of Myanmar » Wed May 23, 2012 8:52 am

For years the mighty mutant Apocalypse has been wandering space and time in his quest for more abilities. His latest encounter with the X-Men on Earth has left him weak and drained of much of the power he once had. Only his spirit slave Ozymandias is the force keeping Apocalypse from slipping into eternal death.

During Loki’s most recent attempted invasion of Earth, Apocalypse arrived at the fabled planet of Asgard, the homeworld of Thor Odinson. With the help of Ozymandias, Apocalypse learned of a powerful being from Earth’s early period of civilization who possessed terrible capabilities. This being’s name is Sima, and he once attempted to make himself supreme god of Earth’s humans. Sima was so powerful, that he nearly crushed the other “gods” of Earth in a brutal war against the Olympians and Asgardians.

Odin and Zeus personally arrived on Earth and battled Sima, defeating him. They put Sima under a deep sleep and imprisoned him in a tomb that could only be opened by five talismans. However, when the time came to protect Earth against a catastrophic event that would harm humanity, Sima could be released and his power controlled by Odin himself.

Zeus, jealous of Odin’s potential influence over Sima, scattered the five talismans across all of Earth. This caused a rift between the Olympians and the Asgardians. Since then, the Olympian and Asgardian gods have abandoned humanity to its own fate. Zeus will not aid humanity any longer, and Odin is about to pass away.

This is the perfect opportunity for Apocalypse to return to Earth, find Sima and absorb his abilities so that the reign of Apocalypse may once again have a chance at becoming a reality. That is, of course, if the Avengers have no objections.

After Loki was defeated by the Avengers, many of its members have since went off on their own adventures, but when Apocalypse strikes, all, some or none may return.

Apocalypse, in his search for the talismans, has returned to Earth and is recruiting villainous figures to his side. His slave Ozymandias keeps them all in check.

Nick Fury, alarmed by the return of Apocalypse, is recruiting many heroic fighters to the Avengers. His sense of justice keeps him focused on stopping Apocalypse from finding the five talismans.

The Orion Complex
Pyramids of Giza, Egypt

“What about the Tesseract?” asked Apocalypse as he sat in the dark corner of a tomb, tapping his finger on the stone chair.

“Gone, my liege,” rasped the voice of an old man. A spirit floated inside the room in a circle around the mighty Apocalypse. The spirit was transparent with a golden hue. He appeared very old, very wise, wore ancient robes and carried with him scrolls. His ghastly eyes were empty. The spirit’s name is Ozymandias, and he was the loyal slave of Apocalypse—bound to an eternity of servitude and protection. “The Tesseract cube, along with Loki the mischievous one, was brought back to Asgard by Thor Odinson.”

Apocalypse looked over at Ozymandias. “And what of Thanos? The last I heard, he was behind the failed Chitauri invasion of this planet... Earth...”

“You are right, my liege. Thanos distracts himself with delusions of grandeur and ill-thought strategies to take over our homeworld,” said Ozymandias.

“Yes...” said Apocalypse, “We were both born on this planet. I was born to rule it, and you were born to serve at my side. While Thanos recovers from his humiliating defeat, we should use this time to find the body of Sima to absorb all of his, or her, energy.”

Ozymandias smirked at Apocalypse’s arrogance. Although he was his servant, this occupation was not borne out of choice but instead of the lack of choice. His life is tied to Apocalypse. If he dies, Apocalypse lives. However, if Apocalypse dies, so too does Ozymandias. “My liege, for every defeat there is a victory. The victors call themselves the Avengers. At the time of the Chitauri invasion, the Avengers were composed of six main fighters: a woman skilled in overall combat, a marksman with the accuracy of a hawk, a man who becomes a beast at will, a soldier whose normal human abilities have been greatly enhanced, an influential figure who dons a suit of metal, and then there is Thor the god. If we go ahead with our plan to find the five talismans that will lead us to Sima, we must ensure that we defeat this group called the Avengers.”

“But they have disbanded, have they not?” said Apocalypse with a trace of annoyance in his tone.

“Anything is reversible,” said Ozymandias, “What if the Avengers are reformed, stronger than before?”

Apocalypse motioned his hand at a dark hallway. An elderly man in red robes and a black suit softly walked into the light towards Apocalypse and Ozymandias. He held a red metal helmet under his arm, revealing a serial number etched into his wrist.

“This, Ozymandias, is one of the more honorable people on this degrading planet,” said Apocalypse, “His name is Magneto.”

Ozymandias quickly hovered over to Magneto, “But my liege, how can you be so sure that he will aid us?”

“Because I hate people,” said Magneto abruptly, “The ‘normal’ ones at least. Homo Sapiens they call themselves. We, my friends, are the Homo Superior. And there’s one thing I hate more than normal people: it’s powerful beings like us who wish to aid and protect them. This Avengers, this mix of mutants and homo sapiens—it disgusts me. I would want nothing more than to see the Avengers destroyed. I am also quite interested in finding this mutant you call Sima.”

Apocalypse looked at Ozymandias, “And there’s more than just him.” He grinned. “Magneto, as you know there are five talismans that will reveal the location of Sima. I have pinpointed the location of the first talisman in a city called London on a large island near the northern polar ice cap.”

“And the rest?” asked Magneto, “You said there are five.”

Ozymandias answered, “They are in major historical cities around the world. We know of only one other location: the ancient city of Tenochtitlan.”

“Mexico City,” said Magneto. “Who will be sent there?”

“One talisman at a time,” said Apocalypse. "As the search for the Talismans continue, the pyramids here will serve their original purpose as the Orion Complex. If need be, the Pyramids have the powerful to summon just one other being. Time has taken a toll on the pyramids. Once, the ancient pharaoh's of Egypt called down entire armies using the Orion Complex's power. Now, the 'magic' is all but gone." He turned towards Magneto and gave a cold stare, "I thought you would be gone by now."

Magneto suddenly bowed, "Yes, Apocalypse." He grasped his robe and walked back down the hallway. The search for the five talismans had begun.

Captain America
A.K.A Steve Rodgers
Avengers Tower

Captain America stood up straight as he rolled out of bed to a beeping six in the morning alarm. He groaned as he pulled on a pair of sweat pants and a wife beater work out shirt. A slight wince went through him as he rolled his left arm. Musta slept on it wrong... he thought. Steve walked out of his room and called out.

"Jarvis?"
"Yes sir?" Came the robotic voice of the AI Butler for the Avengers.
"Can you give me an elevator to the workout room?"
"Of course sir. Will that be all?"
"Yes Jarvis, thank you."

The elevator gave a slight ding as the doors opened. The leader of the Avengers got into the elevator and cocked an eyebrow at the tacky elevator music. Tony's idea of a joke.

Once at the gym the elevator came to a halt and the doors opened soundlessly. Steve stepped out and walked over to the treadmill, hopping on and starting his morning run.

Two hours later Jarvis' voice came over the intercom as Steve landed a telling punch on one of the dummy's that was provided especially for hand to hand combat training.

"Mr. Rodgers?"
"Yes Jarvis?"
"There is a briefing for the Avengers in conference room A in approximately one hour."
"Thank you Jarvis."

Captain America jogged up the stairs to his room and quickly showered and changed. He took an elevator down to the breakfast room and sat down with a plate of eggs and bacon, digging in before the briefing.

Somewhere in the Cosmos 200 lightyears from Earth
4:00 AM Earth rotation time

The Silver Surfer slid across the cosmos on his energy board. He creased his eyebrows as he forced the board to move faster. He had to move faster so that he could warn the Humans. For the fifth time that journey he closed his eyes and reached his mind toward the S.H.I.E.L.D Hellicarrier.

Humans of Earth. You must move quickly. The Cosmos is in despair. Apocalypse is growing more powerful, he hopes to take over your Earth. I, the Silver Surfer, am trying to form allies with the other sentient beings of the Cosmos to join our cause. You on Earth must fight back. I believe it is time for the Avengers to assemble

With that, the Silver Surfer sped off towards a far off planet.

Deadpool, a motel:
Deadpool rushed out of bed after reading the posts above him. He knew Apocalypse was coming and he got ready for a day of battle by putting his costume on and putting his sowrds and stuff on his back. He then rushed to sub-way and orderd a sandwitch and ate it. Then a small child came up to him and said "you look weird". Deadpool then replied "Ah, a little child! SAY THAT AGAIN, AND I'LL SLIT YOUR MOTHERS THROAT IN HER SLEEP!" He then walked out while wistleing!

S.H.I.E.L.D Helicarrier
Nick Fury looked around the conference room. This was the annual conference that was held every year with the top agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The most pressing matters of the moment were the ones that had anything to do with the rumors about Apocalypse. All of a sudden one of the agents spoke up, "Are you sure the avengers can’t just defeat Apocalypse themselves?''

"I'm positive," Nick Fury replied, "But, we still need them. I already have a meeting scheduled with the team in a few hours."

Just then Nick Fury’s head began to throb and The Silver Surfer's message popped into his head.

"I know," Nick thought, "I know."

He looked at the other Agents. There were 26 of them, each with a different letter name. “This meeting is adjourned. I have received a message from one of our allies and we need to move out. You all are going to be sent to different locations of the world to get various heroes. Agent X you will be heading to the subway on 10th to meet up with Deadpool. Agent R you will be meeting with the Silver Surfer when he lands. We don't know his exact landing location, but it will probably some place rural. Agent C there is going to be a brawl between Venom and Carnage, break it up and take Venom. Agent N there have been cases of a strange man with a flaming skull stopping criminals of New York City. I want you to find this man and get him on our side. THe rest of you I want you to meet these heroes and tell them the Earth is in danger. They must come to the Avenger's tower within the hour."

The second he finished the highly trained agents stood up and filed out the room. The agents then entered their respective jets and headed to their respective locations.

There was one more hero Nick needed to get, but he didn't trust any of his other Agents to get him."Barton," He screamed, "Barton. I need you to come here.''

Lower Atmosphere
Time Unknown

All of a sudden the sky lit up and a small meteor appeared coming strait for Earth. By the time it hit the ground in rural Nebraska most of the mass had been burned up. All of a sudden, some sort of red looking figure stepped out of it. By the time the red figure stepped out it was obvious that it was Carnage. He looked at the ground and quickly stepped out of the crater. "Well, well, well. I'm back!" he said. He then began traveling down the grain field. After a few minutes he came across a lone farmer and fused with him. Quickly Carnage became in full control of his body and began traveling again.

ooc: I changed it to that one post.

Edward Brock, Jr. and his symbiotic partner were in their temporary lair within the sewers of a large city. They telepathically conversed about various things, such as the weather, the rising price of food, and their hatred for their mortal enemy, Spider-Man. As they idly chatted, they ate. In fact, they had a guest for dinner. He was a rapist, and he painfully gasped as he clutched the wound where his succulent, delicious, mouth-watering spleen had been removed.

Suddenly, they stopped chewing. They cocked their head to the side, as though listening intently to something... and then let out a roar! Quickly snapping the neck of their victim, they rose to their feet and took off running through the tunnel.

"We sense our offspring," they said. "He left home so long ago. It's been ages, and he hasn't even called. I think we'll have to pay our little boy a visit!"

Venom, as Edward and his alien symbiote were collectively called, possessed the ability to telepathically sense the presence of other alien symbiotes. Its offspring, the psychopathic alien known as Carnage, was one of its mortal enemies. Carnage was a murderer of innocents and an emotionally unstable disciple of chaos, and as long as he lived, Venom could not rest. Venom would find Carnage, and destroy him.

Later...

Venom swung down from a web-line, landing in the shadows on the rooftop of a small building. Down below, he could see Carnage, his destructive offspring. It was time to act, before Carnage could slay any more innocent people of Earth.

*POW!* Venom's foot connected solidly with Carnage's jaw as he swung towards the alien from a web-line. "Tag! You're it! Wanna play, junior?" Venom landed about ten feet away from Carnage and squared off against him. "It's been so long. We've missed you. But our aim's getting better! Hahaha!"

Agent C flew through the air on a jet to meet up with Venom.
He landed the jet next to the two.
Still in the Cockpit he screamed loudly so Venom could hear, "STOP! Venom get in here, before you and your friend here destroy the city."
He looked at Venom and muttered to himself, "Since when did this guy become a hero?"

"why you!" said carnage. He then looked at the jet and said, "well, it looks like you are busy so I should go!"Carnage said as he ran. He got to the other side of the city and found a person. He walked up behind him and then said, "I will kill you know!" he quickly killed the person then ran to find other helpless people to kill.

"No!" screamed Venom. "The blood of innocents must not be spilled! The killing is unacceptable! We will KILL to end the killing!" Venom charged after Carnage, ignoring the SHIELD agent. Shooting a webline at Carnage, he gave a hard tug, yanking the red alien monster toward him. As Carnage flew toward him, he ripped a tree saproling out of the ground and held it like a club. "Ah, so nice of you to bring the piñata to the party, kiddo!" *WHAM!*

Just to make sure you understand, Venom won't go with the SHIELD agent unless a) he is disabled with a sonic cannon and restrained, or b) he is convinced that going with the SHIELD agent will let him save more innocents than killing Carnage would.

He looked at Hawkeye, "His name is Dr. Elias Wertham, but nowadays he goes by Cardiac."
"Cardiac is best described by as a Cyborg-Vigilante. He replaced his heart with a compact beta-particle reactor and encased his entire body within a layer of Vibranium-mesh pseudoskin, specifically designed to channel beta particles into his muscles. In other words, his skin is slightly weaker than Captain America's shield. He has the ability to channel beta particles through the neural web of his vibranium-mesh skin into his muscles thereby endowing him with superhuman strength and regeneration, and enhanced speed, agility, reflexes, and endurance, and he can channel these particles through external objects (such as his pulse staff and hang glider). He wields his pulse staff which fires concussive force bolts, and rides a beta-propelled stingray hang-glider. He wants to save lives, but he often causes the death and destruction of others. He is very dangerous, and should not be taken lightly. I am entrusting you to convince him to join with us. We need as many heroes as we can. Barton, this foe is stronger, then you could possibly imagine."
He stopped and paused for a little bit.
"Your jet is in the Hangar bay, be quick."

Agent C, still in the cockpit, spoke quietly, "Didn't want to do this to you Venom, but you forced my hand.''
He pushed a button on the control panel, and a massive sonic wave came out.
Speaking loudly, "Unless you want me to do that again, you will get into this jet."
He fired again to show Venom he is serious.
"Now get in the jet or I will hit another neat little button. Do you want to find out what it does because if you do I will not hesitate in pressing it?"

Bruce Banner AKA Hulk
Somewhere in the Pacific

Life was simpler here amongst the natives, it was peaceful, quiet. Nobody wished the islanders any ill will, no-one here fought or lied... the people were as close to innocent as humanity could get; untouched by the greed or rush of modern society and it was here he had made a home. For many weeks he had to go it alone, the islanders didn't trust him at all and so the Doctor lived on the other side of the island. He was a curiosity to the younger members of the tribe, the children and young adults would try to watch him without being detected and it first he pretended not to notice but soon the loneliness and melancholy got to him and Banner began making a game of their curious natures, and deliberately began doing strange things such as stacking piles of rocks and then moving the pile one by one to another spot, taking care to place the rocks in the same order. Once that was no longer entertaining enough he began playing hide and seek with them; sneaking up on them as they looked on at his lean-to or tried to catch a glimpse of him. For a time it was the only real entertainment he had, the tribals would run away, some laughing, some screaming. Sometimes they didn't return but more often than not they would visit again and again and it seemed he was not the only one enjoying this little game with unspoken rules.

It was during one of those 'rounds of the game' when he found acceptance by the tribe. He had snuck up on a group of children who were spying on his little home and let out a large bellow, which sent them laughing, screaming, and skittering off in all directions. He was laughing along with them when one of the smallest children fell into a rocky ravine and broke her leg. It was up to Bruce to scramble down the sheer cliffs, set her leg and bring her back her back to the village before anyone knew what had happened to her. A grateful village dubbed him Pale One and the nameless islanders accepted him as one of their own. He was only barely now understanding their language, and they pressed him for questions about the world he came from and what it was like, but they especially liked his stories as read from a book of classics he had brought along with him.

So as night began to fall the evening ritual began, after a meal of fish and fruit the village gathered around for him to read from his book of classics. It was not always easy translating the words from English to their language but he tried his best, and the story was oft interrupted by questions, just about every other sentence, but he had managed to read the whole of Journey to the Center of the Earth but the next story made him pause at the title, Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Something in the back of Banner's head stirred, something peaked curiously through Banner's eyes, and perhaps even grinned. Taking a moment to fight him down he steeled himself and blocked him off again.

Then as if nothing was wrong he began to read Chapter 1.

Venom sank to his knees, screaming as the high-frequency sonic cannon disrupted the flesh of his alien half. After the soundwaves subsided, he rose to his feet and, faster than Agent C could react, leaped behind Carnage and grabbed him.

"You're allied with this murderer, is that it?!" screamed Venom at Agent C. "Well, then, if you want to kill me, your little playmate is going down, too!" Venom struggled against Carnage, who was obviously resisting, but made absolutely sure to stay in physical contact with the red alien.

"Kill you," Agent C laughed, "Ya right."
He pressed and held the sonic wave button sending a continuous amount of sonic waves at Venom.
After a couple seconds of torturing Venom, Agent C hit the second button.
Spider like webs flew out of the guns and encased venom. After Venom was all tied up, Agent C walked out and picked him.
He violently threw Venom into the backseat.
"Don't worry Venom," Agent C said as he began take-off, "You will get your chance."
He took off and headed for Avengers tower.

Then as if nothing was wrong he began to read Chapter 1.

"What a classic novel," bellowed a strong voice. The villagers looked back and saw a pillar of purple smoke. The wind licked away the haze revealing a muscular man in a green outfit. He wore a royal-purple cape and dirt-gold gloves, but the feature that was most striking was his glass helmet—spherical like a typical fishbowl—filled with a white mist that clouded & hid his face. He took a few steps forward, motioning for the villagers to step back.

"Is it not ironic that you of all the people in this world—you, Dr. Banner—would be reading that book," said the mysterious figure coolly, "oh but perhaps it is not strange that you would be reading that. Yes... for it reflects what you truly are, no? Come now, doctor, show these people the inner beast within you. Please, do it. I want to know just how... severe your condition is. An ally of mine knows a way to cure your misfortune. Would you not love to be normal again?"

He started to walk around Dr. Banner. One village girl ran up to the strange man. He swiftly swung his cape, scaring the girl. "Stay away!" he hissed. He stopped for moment and turned to the girl. He knelt down and, from his wrist cufflinks, a puff of white smoke shot towards the girl and spread to everyone else. Their eyes dilated and everyone calmed down quite fast. Purple smoke then slowly crept out from one of his cufflinks, forming a white rose. He held the rose and handed it to the girl who walked back to the rest of the villagers with a smile on her face as she admired the rose. The man got up and fixed his eyes on Dr. Banner, "I haven't properly introduced myself. My name is—well, no I shouldn't tell you. That would just ruin the mystery. We're not so different, you and I. But, unfortunately, there is no cure for my condition."

After Carnage was unexpectedly saved by a hero he ran to a boat headed to Egypt. He sneaked on it and waited on it thinking to himself. "I wonder how many people on this world I can kill?" He started walking around prepared to kill anyone.

Who was this man who had appeared on the beach from nowhere? What was he doing to his people? The rage started to build but he swallowed it down with barely a visible twitch, "You leave these people out of it!" he shouted and sprinted to the little girl, trying to pick her up and keep her away from the mysteri(o :p)us intruder.

The look in the girls eyes was vacant, almost like she slept, he snapped his fingers in front of her face to try and get her attention but she ignored him, "What have you done to them? Let them go!" he demanded, though his voice was quite meek, "You'll never see the Hulk, he is gone!" his voice gained more conviction this time and he stood to face the man, "The Hulk no longer exists anymore, I got rid of him!"

It was a lie obviously, but he knew that any promised cure was a lie anyway. Bruce had been cured twice before, both times the Hulk became his own entity and went on an unstoppable rampage until Bruce took the Hulk back into himself; he was forever of two minds and had come to grips with that part of himself.

"Oh, come now," said Mysterio as if he were talking to a child, "Don't you want to have a little fun?" He took a few paces back and touched his cufflinks which began to let out a steady and constant stream of both the mild white hypnogen gas and the hallucinogenic purple gas. He took out a small vial containing the liquid version of the hallucinogen. "I had hoped you would comply, but alas it seems I must goad you into revealing... him. If you will not face the creature you are, then I will make you."

Mysterio smirked behind his glass mask, but nobody could see inside. He held up the vial with two fingers and threw it onto the ground. With small explosive force, a column of smoke rose and spread throughout the village. Mysterio hid himself in the haze and stood behind the smoke column. The smoke began to take shape for everyone as they started hallucinating, and it took the shape of a hideous beast—green, gargantuan, grim. The beast stood well over the height of any normal man. It's muscles were as thick as a tree trunk. It lumbered around as it roared. Mysterio stood behind the beast with one of his arms extended towards it; he had opened his palms and directed it at the beast as if he were controlling it. With his other hand, he pointed at the beast and then at Dr. Banner, trying to show the villagers what Banner truly could become.

"Behold!" said Mysterio, "The Hulk! This is what he can become!"

To his surprise, a few villagers bowed down at "the Hulk" which was really just one of Mysterio's holographic projections. Under the effects of his two gasses though, it looked very real, but as the elders kneeled before the beast in respect, so too did more villagers.

"What the hell are you idiots doing!?" screeched Mysterio, "He can kill you all!" He looked back at Dr. Banner, "if I can't get them to turn against you, I- I-" His mind suddenly blanked; this wasn't how it was supposed to turn out. Suddenly, "Does... does the name Arnim Zola mean anything to you?" He paused for a few seconds, "He lives. It was said he was executed for Nazi war crimes, but no. His mind still lives." His hologram roared to keep the villagers away as some had tried to touch it. "Dr. Zola... he's the only person who knows about the Super Soldier Serum. You worked on it, didn't you? It was what turned you into the Hulk. Or is the true version of story that you were exposed to gamma radiation while testing a bomb? I'm not sure which story is correct. But regardless, Zola can help you."

New York City
A dark haired women walked briskly down the street. Her long brown overcoat bellowed beneath her as a light gust blowed. The only sounds were the clink of her heels, as well as car horns in the background. She walked in a dirty part of Hell's Kitchen. It wasn't the smartest idea, as she would soon find out. The women arrived in the parking lot where she had parked. She began to search her purse, looking for her keys. Being distracted, she didn't notice as a man came up behind her.

The man grabbed her and placed a knife to her throat. Her purse fell as she began to scream. However the scream was caught as the man slammed his fist into her stomach.A soundless yell was all that emerged.

"I'm going to cut you into little bits now, kay?"

The nonchalance of the man's voice indicated he was used to this thing. A man who killed for pleasure. However, New York was home to a new residence. As he raised his knife, a chain wrapped itself around his wrist. He yelled in agony as the the chain pulled. It snapped his wrist and sent him flying across the lot into a man's fist. As his jaw connected with the man's fist, the fist burst into flame. The skull of the man followed suit as the biker's jacket grew small spikes. The flaming hand grabbed the throat of the would-be killer and raised him eye level. The killer eyes widened with fear as they met empty sockets.

"Your soul is stained by the blood of the innocent. Let their pain become yours!"

Ghost Rider activated his most powerful ability. The Penance Stare. It bore into the soul of the man he held. The Rider saw the man's crimes. His murders, rapes, and thefts. The final part of the ability completed. The man felt the pain of the knife, the emotional pains of being rapped. In short, all the sorrow and pain he had caused was filling his own soul. When the Stare was completed, the man's eyes were filled with an ever moving flame. The Ghost Rider dropped the man to the ground as he wrapped his chain back around his body.

The women looked on in a mix of horror and relief. She thought about thanking the flaming man, but could not use her words. Ghost Rider whistled, his bike rolling up in front of him. He mounted it and gunned the engine. Another sinner had been dealt with, but a feeling of unease still filled the Rider. Something was happening, far graver than any had felt before. A darkness that the world was not prepared for yet. Zarathos knew it not to be a demon. Johnny didn't know what to make of that, but it gave no relief. Together, they were the Ghost Rider. The Rider drove off down the streets. His watch would go on all night if need be. He would find the clues he needed if it was the last thing he did.

He stopped and paused for a little bit.
"Your jet is in the Hangar bay, be quick."

"Hmmph I understand" Hawkeye nodded before heading to the hangar, trying to think of a way to convince someone like Cardiac to join forces with them, a show of force wouldn't do and would more likely than not end with him being killed, Hawkeye decided that if he was to get through to this vigilante he would need to use a sense of justice. hanging on as the Jet landed near the last known location of Cardiac Hawkeye got ready to face off against the target.

"My liege," said Ozymandias as he appeared from thin air in front of Apocalypse who paced back and forth in a tomb deep under the pyramids of Giza, "I have turned away yet more visitors. Their minds are weak, they believe this place is, as they say, 'closed for renovations'?"

Apocalypse sneered at his slave. "Is this all you have to say? Is this how you waste my time?"

"No, my liege," said Ozymandias, "I come to alert you of a creature near the coast of Egypt. It is a fusion of man and a symbiote life-form, but it is not Venom. This creature goes by the name Carnage, and what an appropriate name it is. My liege, it is not mindless. It has a purpose—to kill—and we should direct that purpose to bring us closer to our goal."

"My goal!" yelled Apocalypse as he grabbed Ozymandias' neck. Only he was able to interact physically with the spirit. "You are too treacherous, Ozymandias. You need me, but I do not want your presence. If I die, you die. If you die, I live on, but until I kill you I am still in need of your servitude."

"Of course," mocked Ozymandias, "because our 'allies' have no idea that you are, as of now, as weak as a mortal child." Apocalypse threw him to a wall, but Ozymandias simply went through it and appeared on the other end of the room. "I will remain your humble slave, of course, but you have yet to address the issue of Carnage."

"Find him," said Apocalypse, shakened by his slave presenting him with the truth of his diminished power, "reason with the creature and set him loose. And... and what of the others?"

"Magneto is in search of another being to aid his attack on London, Quentin Beck has found Dr. Banner and hopes to persuade him to join us, and Dr. Zola is close to perfecting the Super Soldier Serum to bring back your powers—the physical ones at least," replied Ozymandias as he disappeared and left his master alone in the tomb.

Time guards of shadow wrote:After Carnage was unexpectedly saved by a hero he ran to a boat headed to Egypt. He sneaked on it and waited on it thinking to himself. "I wonder how many people on this world I can kill?" He started walking around prepared to kill anyone.

Ozymandias suddenly appeared in front of Carnage as it lurked in a boat that neared the docks of Cairo.

"Found what you're looking for on this ship?" asked Ozymandias.

Venom struggled during the entire flight to SHIELD Headquarters. He normally would have had no problems with a mere web-like snare, no matter how strong the material was, but this one seemed to be made for him. It most likely had a sonic-based inhibitor. Whenever Venom tried to escape from it, it kept him in check with an inaudible soundwave that was more effective than the best forcefields would have been.

"You naughty, naughty boy!" Venom screamed at Agent C. "Don't you know that it's wrong to help bloodthirsty maniacs escape? Carnage is a slayer of innocents! The blood of his victims is on your hands! We will personally eat your pancreas and leave you to rot for your crime! AAARRRGGHH!!! As soon as we escape from this accursed net!"
