Just a quick run down on what happened in Gotham and some context for Panem, I never watched the Hunger games so I have no idea what the world is like.

Bane has been terrorizing Gotham for a while. He has captured Batman, preventing the masked vigilante from protecting Gotham while Bane searches for the world’s Keyhole. He is part of a collective of villains searching for Keyholes amongst various worlds. Gotham is strangely the location where Heros from destroyed worlds have all been transported.
One by one, Heros and villains and those in between were teleported to Gotham either due to the Heartless invading their world or by luck. It wasn't long before the Joker killed Bane and proclaimed himself the King of Gotham. The Heros eventually learned of Gotham's Keyhole and attempted to find it at Arkham Asylum before the Joker could.
However, our Heroes were trapped by the Joker who found the Keyhole in the Batcave instead. The Joker absorbed the energy-source of Gotham from the Keyhole; his inability to control the power flowing from the Keyhole resulted in Gotham's destruction. Before Gotham was completely destroyed, the Keyhole sent out a burst of white light, sending our characters through a portal to the world Panem.
During the Joker’s vicious destruction of Gotham City, a portal opened, allowing the heroes to safely escape to another universe. Meanwhile, the force gathered by the Joker had an unexpected side effect. It sent the Joker to the same place as our heroes, but 5 years into the past. Soon after everybody’s departure, Gotham City ceased to exist, destroyed along with its keyhole.
Now, the characters arrive in a new world, one very much unlike Gotham. Here, crime isn’t committed by street gangs and criminals, but by the government itself. That’s right – the characters have arrived in Panem, but it is a world not even Peeta and Katniss can recognize. In this reality, the Joker and President Snowx, the Nobody that came into existence after the original President’s snow’s death, were able to work together and overturn the effects of the Second Revolution with the help of the heartless. Both of these villains remember how they were spited by at least some of the heroes, and will do everything in their power to cause them as much suffering as possible. President Snowx has his eye on Peeta and Katniss, especially, and aims to have them die a slow and gruesome death. Already he has exacted some revenge on thm. All the people Peeta and Katniss knew are dead, 5 of 13 districts (8 and 10-13) are destroyed, and the 8 remaining districts (1-7 and 9) are treated even worse than before.
The Hunger Games are arranged semi-annually and instead of 2 tributes, each district must send 12, aged 10-70, regardless of their condition, background, or anything else that might have saved them in the past.
The heroes know and villains both know that the keyhole is hidden somewhere in the arena, but they don’t know exactly where or in what form, or even what the arena is like. The only way to gain access is to volunteer as tribute. Once inside, they must work together to find the keyhole while avoiding the traps set by the Joker, President Snowx, the other gamemakers, and yes, even each other.
Alliances will be made and broken, battles will be fought, lives will be lost, and one tribute will be crowned Champion of Panem. Ladies and gentlemen, get ready for... the 85th Hunger Games!

even dark Apostles are mortal, they can be killed by a sword thrust like any one of us (you're not the only Warhammer 40,000 guy here)
Well, Dark Apostle Jarulek(Marduk's predecessor) was killed by the Undying One, who is a necron lord. Still, it takes a lot to kill a space marine, chaos or otherwise, especially the leaders of the Word bearers, bringers of the Dark faith. Also, Marduk survived a bolt pistol to the face(by his traitorous master-Jarulek), even though it blew half his face off, and meant he has a red, lidless daemonic eye as replacement for the one he lost, the chirugeons(or however they're spelled) fixed his face.
Edit: Oh, I'm thinking of maybe starting in district 11? Some people might be a bit unnerved by the precense of two towering demonic warriors with an attitude and personality to match.

Also, was reading up on the wiki, my character is older than eighteen, being between the late-twenties to early thirties.
She can't technically participate in the games.

I see, I read on the wiki that it was only children aged 12 to 18, I might be confusing something though.
