While usually Cassie had issues with having close body contact to others, right now, she really didn't mind. In fact, she seemed to be comforted by it instead of bothered by it like usual. It really depended the situation. If things were calm and nothing major was going on, she tended to get uncomfortable with body contact like this. But when it came to something scary going on like the station being attacked, her mind was so elsewhere that she didn't mind it at all, and found it to be a comfort instead. She even ended up just getting closer to Josh, and leaned her head against his shoulder.

"I sure hope so..." Cassie said with that same look of worry. But there was also more than just a look of worry on her face, and it looked like she was being thoughtful, too, which almost looked like her thoughts were making her feel worse, not better.

Magenta

Magenta's quiet reading session in the library had first been interrupted by the station-wide alert, which had earned a frown and a seconds of diverted attention, and then more rudely interrupted by something smashing through the station windows. The sudden presence of the vacuum of space forced Magenta to drop her book and act quickly and on instinct.

To that end, she summoned an airtight wall of crystal that ran from wall to wall. The wall spread over the course of several seconds, but it did it's job: Sealing the room long enough for Magenta to make it to the stairs. Coughing as she burst into the stair well and kicked the door shut behind her, she then heard the sound of blast doors closing behind her.
"I delayed the automated response to a vacuum for as long as I could," Kara said through a nearby speaker. Nodding and coughing as her everything healed from vacuum exposure, Magenta then staggered to her feet and dusted her dress.
"Thank you, Kara. You saved my life," she said, before quickly making her way down the stairs.

Fortunately for Magenta the guards stationed in the stairwell were professionals and didn't open fire at the first sign of someone coming down the stairs, though they were quite surprised to see her. The security system identified her as a teacher even though no one was supposed to still be up there, so at least they could be certain she wasn't some sort of infiltrator. Her presence was still very problematic because as soon as the enemy arrived they would activate the power suppressors to help keep them at bay, and without her powers she would probably be powerless. She would have to be moved to safety inside one of the dormitories and that would be a problem because the security system didn't allow for the doors to be opened until the threat had been dealt with.

Hansel reacted quickly, coming up with a plan to solve the problem. "Dominic, we need help out here, one of your colleagues is trapped on this side of the lockdown," he said into his radio after having fiddled with it for a moment.

Dominic appeared by the locked doors a moment later, quickly grabbing onto Magenta and moving both of them away again. The sensation of being teleported was quite confusing for most people who weren't used to it, it messed with your sense of balance, but they appeared safely inside the vigilante common room.

"What were you doing out there?" Dominic asked her, "didn't you receive the message, or hear the alarms?"

Meanwhile, Kara would find her access to the station's systems suddenly sharply decreased as something disconnected her from most of them.

Jenkins
"I think they call it magic, Markus," Jenkins explained when Markus asked what actual fuck was going on. "But I don't know if that is an accurate description or just hyperbole."

The strange gate-like construct seemed to be slowly siphoning energy from the copies of Antonio, though there was no visible change in it so far. Not that Jenkins really knew if it was supposed to visually change before anything happened, or if anything was even actually happening.

By now the intruders were outside, pounding on the blast doors. It would take them some time to get through, but even the blast doors wouldn't hold forever.

Tyler
Tyler looked troubled for a moment when Caitlin asked who could possibly be attacking the station. He couldn't help but think that it had to be connected to the Tokyo bombing somehow, which worried him a lot. If some nutcase racists were willing to nuke a city because they hated superhumans they definitely would want to attack the school as well, and they obviously had access to dangerous weapons.

"I don't know," he replied, "but I don't like this."

At the Library

The window starts to crack as those in it were basically told to run. It would soon break, releasing the blackness to enter the station as a strange rushing goo.

At the Gym

The pounding continues as the copies of Antonio begins to float away from the gym floor and reach the gate's center indent, a key entering the keyhole.

"Oh shit, you don't think it's the people who attacked Tokyo, do you?" Caitlin asked as if she had been reading Tyler's thoughts, but obviously she hadn't because she wasn't one with those types of powers. "Obviously they have a grudge against superhumans, so it isn't like it would be a stretch for them to try and attack here next" She said, looking even more worried now. "Happy birthday to me" She said sarcastically. "I will probably say this is the most eventful birthday that I've ever had" She said, shaking her head lightly.

Tyler frowned when Caitlin came to the same conclusion as him about who would most likely be attacking the station. "I think it's possible that it's them," he said. And though he didn't say it he was also quite determined that if it was them he was going to kill them all, tear them limb from limb. And not just to defend himself but because he felt like those people really didn't deserve to live anymore after what they had done. That burning determination was somewhat dampened when he thought of her though, he didn't want to leave her alone.

"Do you think we should head out to the common room with the others?" he asked, "it might be safer."

Hansel Dietrich, Guard of the Academy
A few seconds after Magenta had been evacuated there was a sound of tearing metal from up the stairs. They activated the power suppressors in the stairwell then, since none of them had powers it could only help them in the fight, at worst do nothing. Though when he heard just how many enemies seemed to be heading down the stairs Hansel doubted if even that would be enough.

When the first enemy appeared in sight they opened fire, but no sooner had that one died than two others had come down the stairs to replace it. The stairwell was filled with the sounds of gunfire and inhuman wails.

Magenta

Magenta said nothing for a moment, coughing softly as she regained her balance. Then, she flicked her hair back into place and readjusted her scarf.
"I assumed that the esteemed and professional security staff of this station would be able to turn away any threat," she said pleasantly. Then, she brushed some dust from her dress, before locking her gaze to Dominic's. Her soft smile took on an entirely different meaning when paired with a cruel, cold stare.
"And besides, I did not feel any threat to me," she said, a few small shards of crystal coming into existence behind her.

Markus

"Magic? Seriously? I like the version that steals peoples money more," Markus said, giving Jenkins a rather casual smirk.

Josh

Josh sighed softly, before humming softly. Across from him, Goltia started to hum as well, the Twin's both following a simple tune.
"Oh I remember this one," Grace said, before being to softly sing in Sarvannan.

Kara

Kara feel a spark of shock as she suddenly lost control of several systems. Diving into the network, she searched for the source of the disconnects. Nobody screws with this network but ME.

With headphones delivered, some measure of control over their situation was gained. For all of the high pitched screams of the alarm system and the vague pops coming from the doorway. The meager dulling of deafening noise was an appreciated assurance. Seeing somebody lying on the floor, the trio walked across the common room to this person.
"Do you need help, whoever you are?" Makoto asked in a raised voice as she held-out a hand. The red-headed girl showed no sign of injury as the shocked response to Makoto's presence showed, quickly getting to her feet in the presence without taking Makoto's hand.
"No, no. everything's fine," the Bostonian assured as she got-back to her feet, amid the cacophony of alarms, refusing shake Makoto's hand much to the latter's feelings of awkwardness as she quickly quickly ran-off places with less eyes. Recognition was had from the last class since both Bramwell and Sakura saw that this was Taylor from when she asserted her partner's inactivity to Leroy.
"Hey, could you please teleport these back to our room?" Makoto stated as she remembered the fact that she was wearing a trench coat and tie, things in which she wanted nobody to get a fight. Due to that, she took-off the two items and handed to Sakura, who nodded in recognition of the task but forgot in the auditory barrage that she had teleportation. Regardless, Makoto corrected her not. Even so, Bramwell still felt the need for correction.
"I believe that you were asking for her to do a task, not her ability to do so," Bramwell said, his voice too quiet for the place as he missed the mistake of Sakura. As Sakura ran, Makoto and Bramwell noticed that a door was kicked-open. Walking-out of the door came a dark blonde-haired person whose choices of attire that left Bramwell dumbstruck in confusion. The trousers were a pair of windpants that was bright red with a yellow trim. The shoes were grey and orange cleats that were matched similarly by the messenger bag also worn. On the torso was a grey short-sleeved shirt with its collar popped which was beneath an unzipped zebra-print hooded-jacket. Above both of those was a dark red sleeveless windbreaker. On the face was a red paisley bandanna and a pair of aviators. The boombox's volume was obscene in its competition for attention with the alarms, forcing their hand.
"I would hate to interrupt your music, but please lower the volume miss," Makoto asked as the person walked over to the common room only to divert course and head to them.
"I am not a woman, dude!" was stated in a Russian affect by the person, momentarily wrong about Makoto's gender.
"We are sorry for the mistake about your gender identity," Bramwell apologized on Makoto's behalf, trying to get the discourse with this person to end.
"Hey, keep your girlfriend out of this. You were the one who insulted my name," stated the boy in the zebra-print hoodie to Makoto.
"Why would I insult somebody whose name I do not yet know?... You know what? I am sorry. Now forget about it and keep blasting that 80's pop," Makoto conceded, as he was already unhappy standing next to the speakers. Before the person with the boombox could leave, something caught his eye.
"Sakura?" the boy with the aviators asked with a distinct change in mood as he lowered the volume of the boombox.
"Damn," Sakura uttered under her breath. "Makoto, you remember that ex I talked about?" The statement struck Makoto's ears as incredulity was found with the idea that this zebra-print hoodie-clad boy was Sakura's ex. He expected that Sakura's ex was an intellectually-inclined girlfriend who broke-up over an argument on whether Stravinsky or Prokofiev was the better composer. The mistaken gender identity was easily enough rationalized due to American usage of Russian boys' names as girls' names and the general conventions of American names already causing an already gender-neutral nickname to be defaulted to female. The idea of intellectual dispute being the cause of the break-up was namely due to much higher expectations of Sakura.
"Save the inevitable bickering for a later time. If you are here for the informal last line of defense, then do not talk. That goes double for Bramwell," Makoto commanded of the former couple and his friend. For some period of time, the three obeyed Makoto's orders.

Dominic
Dominic was slightly taken aback by the coldness in Magenta's eyes and voice. He was quite used to dealing with the worst kind of people that humanity had to offer, murderers and worse, and those were the kinds of people he was used to receiving such stares from. She didn't seem at all like that kind of person, she seemed too nice. And yet there was an undeniable coldness in how she acted just then, as if killing someone to defend herself was something she was used to doing. It probably shouldn't have surprised him, considering some of the other people working at the Academy, but it did.

"Well, even if you didn't feel unsafe, you should have thought about the students," he admonished her. "It is more important than anything that we keep them safe."

The sounds of gunfire coming from the stairwell suddenly stopped, and a moment later something started pounding on the doors. Dominic mumbled something quietly in Spanish, looking rather shocked and upset.

Jenkins
"That would be easier to deal with, at least," Jenkins commented when Markus joked about preferring street magic to actual magic.

There was a sound of tearing metal coming from the blast doors. Even with the power suppressors active in the hallway outside it was entirely possible that the enemy had brought something with them that could get through the thick metal doors, even without any powers.

"I think we're going to have company soon," he said to Markus.

In the Academy network
As Kara looked for whatever had disconnected her she wouldn't find anything. There was no alert of damage to any system, some things had shut down as an emergency response to a sudden loss in power. But the power loss seemed deliberate since there was still enough power being given to the nonessential network to keep several subroutines, including her, active. And the systems she had lost control of were the ones that could be used to actively interfere in the current situation, including the doors.

Since she had no control over the station's power supply, that being one of the things controlled by the secure closed network, there wasn't much she could do about it.

Cassie
Unsurprisingly, Cassie had no idea what all 3 of them started to hum. She thought of attempting to join them with the humming, anyway, even though she didn't know what they were humming, but gave up in the end. And she felt self-conscious singing her humming when others were around, anyway. So she stayed where she was, trying to feel as safe and secure as she could right now while being close to Josh.

"What are you guys humming?" Cassie asked curiously.

Caitlin
Caitlin gave a shrug of her shoulders. "Sure. Might as well. Might give us something more to do than just sit in here not doing much of anything, anyway. It's kinda hard to think about what to talk about while all of this is going on, or it would be nice to be here just the two of us" She said. "Maybe we can talk to someone else" She added.

"Alright, let's go," Tyler said, heading to the door and opening it once more. Outside everyone was in an even more upset state than before, it was noisy and everyone seemed to be crowding away from the stairs. He could see one of the teachers yelling instructions to people to stay back. In the background he could hear a pounding noise, and he quickly realized that it had to be caused by the attackers trying to get into the common room. With that realization he was overcome with indecision, because he wasn't sure if it would be safer to be cooped up in his room or to be out with everyone else.

He looked at Caitlin, hoping that she would settle the issue of what they should do.

"So, any of the others have offensive powers?" Zhenya asked as he pulled-up his hood over his head, angry in tone as he walked the four to a corner.
"Yeah, Makoto over there is a telekinetic. I don't know about anybody else who is here," Sakura explained, noticeably uncomfortable about the presence of Zhenya.
"Well, that makes this an interesting scenario. Well then, happy birthday," Zhenya cheerfully stated as he put his hand behind his back before bringing it back to reveal a collection of five knives. "These are throwing knives. Keep your distance and you should be able to keep them cutting. " as he handed Makoto two knives. "As for you, I understand that you are a chef and that you are a Texan, so I think you would could cut them up with Bowie knives. As for me, I would usually go with two balisongs, but I have to make sacrifices, so I will make like the Gurkhas and get a Kukri in less than sixty seconds," Zhenya explained to Bramwell and Makoto, who were hesitant about the plan until the knocking on the door happened, causing Sakura to accept a knife despite the insane explanation of that which was unfairly thought-of as "reasoning".
"Do you know how many school rules you are breaking right now?" Bramwell inquired, hesitant about the prospect of carrying a lethal weapon in public.
"Ah, but these are purely a usage of my powers. Would the school fault your boyfriend for using their telekinesis to defend himself?" Zhenya rhetorically inquired, initially confusing Bramwell with the insinuation. As the sounds reverberated through the sterile room, Bramwell came to a hasty conclusion.
"You are very presumptive," Bramwell answered, vague as to the inadequacies of the statement. His only objection was noted as he accepted the knife.
"Well then, I have to alert the guards," Zhenya said with a grin on his face as he left the circle, bringing the boombox with him. After a momentary pause amid the dreadful noises, an exchange happened.
"I am giving you telepathic clearance on any entity in the stairwell," Makoto declared to Bramwell, receiving a nod as he executed the instructions. The purpose was intuitive even to Bramwell. A short distance away, they heard Zhenya.
"Hey, you can now fire from the hip or two guns or any other improper ways you can think of," Zhenya explained in a raised voice audible even at a distance.

Somewhere at the Space Station

The blackness begins to reform and make strange nightmarish monsters, all design to fully make the viewer enter a state of fear and despair.

At the Library

The white spot enter the school through the broken library window. The being appear to be a naked, formless, white, and smooth being with humanoid shape and little to no features. Despair begins to calmly walk toward the gym.

At the Gym

There is a sharp blade of blackness that pierce the gym's blast doors. The blackness then use the hole as a way to enter the gym.

"I'm not really sure it's safer out here..." Caitlin said when she came up behind Tyler, seeing everyone who looked so worried, scared, and so on, and hearing the pounding noises. "What the hell is that? I would think if it was, you know, the bombers, they'd just blow us out of the sky and be done with it. But whatever it is, it's clearly breaking in and trying to accomplish something by pounding on things..." She said, shaking her head lightly. "I'm having a hard time seeing it as the terrorists anymore. It seems too weird for them to want to break in. But who knows..." She gave a shrug of her shoulders. "We should probably go back to your room..." She said. She wanted to help fight...whatever it was, but knew that she wasn't super experienced yet and it was probably better if they just stayed low and hung out in Tyler's room. And being out here, with the noises, would make her feel uneasy, or make her have the urge to want to do something other than sit down and hope for the best. So she decided that it would probably be the best choice if they decided to stick with staying in his room.

"I noticed that," Markus replied, training his rifle on the door. Said door was then breached by something. Markus had no idea what it was, and expressed his shock in his own way; by firing a quick 5 round burst at the invading substance.

Magenta

"True. I was... Rather selfish," Magenta said. She then turned to look at the doorway as the gunfire stopped, before taking a step back from it when something pounded against it.
"Do not mourn those men now, Dominic. It'll weigh you down, when we need you to be able to move as fast as you can. Go. Make sure everyone else somewhere safe," she said. As she spoke, shards of crystal came into being around her, before snapping to her body. By the time she was finished, a crystalline chainmail of sorts had formed. She then clicked her fingers, a layer of crystal forming over the door at her command.

Grace and the Twins

Josh stopped humming, leaving the other two to continue.
"It's a old children's song. It's about a family that was stuck in a harsh storm, and their love for each other was so strong, a spirit of nature noticed them and protected them. It's rather silly," he explained, blushing slightly.

Kara

"What...." Kara was confused. The systems she lost control to were important, considering the situation, as was the lose of power to several others.
"This was deliberate. Alright then you little shit. If I can't get to you, I'll sure as fuck find your source," she said, before activating one of her core routines; a search and destroy program designed to find intruders in the system.

"It may be silly, but I think it's cool" Cassie said, and despite the circumstances, managed a smile. "Better than some of the children's songs of my world...I never understood the concept of Rock A By Baby as a song you should sing to your children..." She said, shaking her head lightly. "I want to learn more about your world. It seems fascinating" She said, adjusting herself in her sitting position as if she was expecting Josh to start speaking some stories about his world, but that wasn't really what she expected, she was just getting comfortable again. "If you ever feel like telling me any stories or history about it, that is" She added to make sure he understood that she wasn't suggesting he had to tell her anything now.

Jenkins
When the blackness breached the doors Jenkins immediately took aim at it with one of his pistols, but he did not fire right away. The small hole caused by the blade was quickly widened as an array of nightmarish creatures started pushing their way into the gym. Though they seemed to be composed of solid darkness bullets quickly proved to be effective against them. The large-caliber rifles carried by Markus and the other guards tore the monsters apart with ease, but there were new ones constantly pushing in through the breach. Jenkins rather suspected that the biggest problem was going to be that they would run out of bullets.

To preserve ammunition he made sure to fire very deliberately and carefully, picking off any enemy that tried to move in any direction other than towards Markus and him.

John cast a protective shield around himself and the fragments of Antonio as soon as the darkness breached the doors, effectively making sure that nothing would be able to interrupt the ritual.

Dominic
Dominic wasn't entirely sure what Magenta thought he could do to get an entire room full of people somewhere else, but he certainly couldn't teleport that many people anywhere at once. Not that it would matter because he knew that his range was too limited to get anyone safely off the station anyway. He did the only thing he could think of and started ordering the students to back away from the doors.

Even with Magenta's additional crystalline defenses the doors were breached rather quickly, not having been built to withstand a siege. The monstrous invaders started pouring in and the guards opened fire, slowing the progress of the enemy as they had to get through a hail of bullets to get in.

The Academy Network
Despite her best efforts Kara wouldn't find any kind of intruder in the network. The systems that had shut down had done so to prevent damage from the loss of power so whatever was behind it had been manipulating the power supply rather than directly doing anything to the systems themselves. Though it would be rather easy to figure out that no one would have been able to pull it off without being very familiar with how the station's systems operated.

The guards watching the doors didn't care very much about what Zhenya was trying to tell them, because they were a bit too distracted to devote any attention to him. And trying to convince professional soldiers that they were suddenly able to pull off stuff only seen in action movies was rather doomed from the start. Years of drilling the proper ways to do things into their heads were not overcome within a few moments.

Bramwell's telepathic efforts against the intruders might cause him some stress because the minds he encountered were incredibly alien. They were creatures of boundless fear and despair, and that was all they knew. Anything else was anathematic to their existence.

Soon enough the doors to the hero commons were breached, and the creatures flooded in only to be pushed back by a hail of bullets. They were slowly advancing despite their casualties, their numbers seemingly endless.

Tyler
"You're probably right," Tyler conceded when Caitlin said that it would probably be safer in his room than out in the common room with the others. In response to her pointing out how odd it seemed that the invaders hadn't just blown the station out of the sky he could only nod.

Not long after they had moved back into his room and he had closed the door there was a noise of tearing metal from the common room, and then gunfire. Tyler was rather torn between the simultaneous feelings of wanting to run out there to help fight and wanting to hide somewhere and hope that everything turned out okay.

Despite the panic among the intruders, Bramwell was incapable of understanding it. Since he had no context for their emotional reactions and thoughts, it simply was incapable of eliciting any emotional response. As far as he knew, they could be in a euphoria and he would not know the difference. What was more important was actually Bramwell's forcing the tresspassers to do things over their limp bodies. Since there was no noticeable difference in the perception of light, it took him only a fraction of a second before he knew how to cause perceptory black-outs among the intruders. Given the accumulation of dead bodies over those that became limp, so Bramwell attempted, there was a thought that the dead bodies might provide enough weight to make living ones entirely incapable of getting up again. It was hoped that this would steadily create a literal wall of their bodies that the intruders would have to push through again, thus causing moments where reloading was feasible.
Sakura's idea for holding-off the attack was meant to compliment Bramwell's. She kept a picture of the academy that she switched her eyes to for aportation purposes. With her attention, she aimed for the aportation of the means of locomotion-off the attackers. These parts were specifically meant for delivery to a location on the picture---one-hundred-and-twenty-eight meters away from the station. It was large enough that, even though she was inexperienced, she could see its coordinates in space still. It was more efficient in Sakura's knowledge since she only had the ability to aport around six-hundred pounds at a time, and thus aimed to maximize the amount of downed hostiles with each aportation. Sakura had only just attempted her first aportation, and she already felt sweat forming in anticipation of the heat.
Makoto, meanwhile, assisted in the plan by telekinetically letting the blades fly around the place. Makoto's efforts were focused on trying to find a figurative equivalent to the spinal cord, something which, when cut, would completely render any of the intruders harmless. The knives were well-weighted, which made the difficult task oddly instinctual as she moved her hands in some amount of synchronization of the knives' movements.
"Ah, this feels nostalgic!" Zhenya happily declared in reminiscence of the vampire attacks. Zhenya's part of the hastily assembled plan was much simpler. He simply put the boombox's volume on maximum and juggled the kukri as he stood between the stairwell and the three. His role was purely defensive, namely about holding-off any of the hostiles that went after the three while his boombox blasted 80's music, specifically a hard rock song by the name of "Welcome to the Jungle". He had a specific reason he brought the boombox, one that was not needed at that point. The anticipation that Zhenya had was palpable by the grin. For somebody who could very well die, he was very sure that he was not.

Jay wasn't entirely sure he had heard all of what Thomas said to them, but he was pretty sure he got the gist of it. "There's a lot of guards to protect us. Them being guards, if whatever it is gets past them, why do you think that you'll have any chance against it? No offence," He said, rubbing his ears. He tensed when the station shook, and looked slightly alarmed, then nodded to Sarah. The noise was still annoying, but he had the biggest problem with sudden loud noises. Roady had now crawled under the bed, clearly freaked out by what was going on.

"I know I'd have a better chance than a guard if I could get to my normal equipment, maybe I can still do something if I can jury rig something." He says in a rushed voice matching the pace of the rushed construction. As the various joints were being hastily put together, Thomas began attaching any metal he had for armor, a patchwork of various alloys of varying effectiveness. "I do hope the guards can handle it, but I don't want to be idle if they can't." He continues, his accent flaring with his nervousness.

"That's a bit cocky," Jay said,"The guards are trained to protect us, and you seem to be assuming that they have no powers, which I don't think any of us know either way. And if you're not assuming, it's really cocky to think you're better then them all, anyway." He put his head against Sarah's shoulder when she gave him a one-armed hug. "Yes. We're being trained. We're just students. Even if we're trained to fight, we're new to it compared to the guards."

He gave a quiet sigh. As the noises and stuff continued, he seemed to get more and more alarmed, but wasn't sure what to do. Was it safer to stay here? He trusted the guards, but they were kind of cornered.
Times are looking grim these days~

Magenta flinched when her barrier was broken, but responded quickly. The shards of crystal left from the barrier shattering froze in mid air, before turning and flinging themselves into the crowd of invaders. Meanwhile, Magenta place a hand on the floor, closing her eyes in concentration. then, a film of crystal spread rapidly from her hand, spreading to and around the point of entry for the invaders. Magenta then pulled her hand up with a flourish and clicked her fingers. Immediately, a ripple went through the crystal, before massive crystalline spikes shot upwards, impaling all caught in the field of crystal.
"Hmmm," Magenta hummed softly, looking as more invaders already moved to advance over their fallen. "This may be a issue."

Markus

Markus quickly encountered the same issue Jenkins had; The fact that they were going to run out of bullets before they ran out of targets.
"Well, our life is going to suck real quickly. Hey, Wizardman! Feel like getting to the fucking point already?" He shouted over the bark of his rifle. He then heard a click, and immediately dumped the clip from the rifle, before jamming another in and firing once more.

Josh

"Well..." Josh looked at Grace, who sighed and smiled.
"Josh always slept when these stories came up. Anyway... I know a few of the old stories. Always loved them. Ummm... Would you like to hear our creation story?" Grace asked. Goltia rolled her eyes and flopped over sideways, while Josh smiled at her action.
"Goltia hates this story," he said.

Academy of the Empowered

More and more of the monstrous blackness enter and spread as Despair calmly head towards to the gym.

At the Gym

The magic sphere begins to contract as the versions of Antonio slowly start to merge into one again as the gate shake at being open soon.

The blackness is making a clear path for Despair to enter and walk through to the gate.

Thomas winced as he heard Jay's words, realizing how much of an ass he had came off as there. He was sweating as he exerted his powers, a storm of tools, joints, and pistons forming a semi-recognizable skeletal form "Of course we are new, and of course many guards are better than us, but that doesn't change that they need anyone and anything they can get helping them. I for one am not going to wait for them to die or get overrun." He says assertively, final joints taking form.

This makeshift suit was very simplistic: powered by an extra reactor and no regulators other than his mind. Metal plate armor was only at vital places like chest, hands, and feet, many of it uneven and some looking like it was ripped off a car door. He got into the suit, the metal not closing gracefully over him as he was accustomed to. The screech of two metal plates going unevenly against each other made him try to cover his ears, but couldn't.

Caitlin
"The sounds are getting closer..." Caitlin tried not to show her worry, but it was at the point where she couldn't hide it well at all. "Let's just..hope whatever it is goes away..soon" She didn't really know what to say and kinda just nervously stood there. She seemed worried, but also conflicted on wanting to actually go out there and help as well, but she had nothing useful to fight with, so that was enough for her to try and keep discarding that thought. "I guess we just...wait it out" She said, trying to think of something to distract them for long enough to not think about it.

Cassie
Cassie looked at Josh, who then looked at Grace, making her look to Grace in turn, raising an eyebrow ever so slightly. She gave a slight nod to what Grace said, smiling the best that she could in the current situation. "Sure, as long as nothing happens that distracts me..." She said, going back to looking a bit worried. She just let out a slight laugh when Josh said that Goltia hated the story after her response to the subject.

He had a specific reason he brought the boombox, one that was not needed at that point. The anticipation that Zhenya had was palpable by the grin. For somebody who could very well die, he was very sure that he was not.

Bramwell's efforts were effective, though not in the way he had anticipated. The corpses on the floor disappeared rather quickly after death, staying put no more than around thirty to forty seconds after drawing their last breaths. They then dissipated into a steam-like substance which seemed to flow on its own power out into the stairwell again. Because of this his plan to topple the intruders to create a wall of corpses was doomed to failure, but the corpses stayed put long enough to cause some of the living ones that he blinded to fall. And when they fell to the floor they started trashing about. With no way to know what had taken away their sight they lashed out at whatever they could get their claws on, which was only their fellow monsters.

With the intruders held up by the mess Bramwell had caused in front of the doors they were easy pickings for the guards and everyone else helping with the defense. Bullets and knives tore them to pieces, and some pieces just seemed to disappear off of them as well. Any attack aimed at anything other than the head didn't seem sufficient to cause lethal damage though. More students started joining Bramwell and the others in holding the line, and the teachers did their best to keep them under control so they didn't accidentally hit anyone they shouldn't. Ice and fire and a spectral monkey flew at the attackers.

Despite all this they still pushed on in a seemingly endless stream.

Dominic
Dominic was rather impressed by Magenta's display. It was rather obvious that she had a lot of experience using her powers, and he wasn't sure if it was scary or not that she had found a way to weaponize crystals. Though it didn't seem like her efforts were entirely effective still, because there were always new enemies to replace those that fell. And the dead ones disappeared. An idea started forming in his head but was quickly interrupted when a fist-sized rock flew by his head, aimed at the attackers.

"Watch your aim!" he chided the overeager student that was responsible. "Only fire if you have a clear shot!"

More of the creatures pushed forward and he struggled to pick up his train of thought again. They needed a solution, fast, and he had the benefit of a long career of experience to draw inspiration from so he assumed that it would have to be him that came up with it.

Jenkins
It was very obvious to Jenkins that the intruders were trying to clear a path to the gate that John had opened, they focused entirely on him and Markus even though they were being decimated by the others stationed along the walls. This meant that they could under no circumstances actually get out of the way. Markus seemed to be doing well, putting the enemy down efficiently and suffering no damage himself, though he was clearly getting stressed by the situation. At least something seemed to be starting to happen with the magic ritual thing, so he hoped that an end was in sight.

Less positively he only had eighteen bullets left, so he might have to resort to close quarters combat before long. He would prefer not to but he could hardly let Markus deal with the enemies alone.

Tyler
Tyler frowned as he listened to the sounds coming from the common room. It definitely sounded like the students out there had joined the fight, because there were a lot of sounds other than the gunfire now. It was impossible to tell what was going on but he really hoped that they were winning. He'd rather not lose any friends. Especially not while he was hiding like a useless coward. And he couldn't just rush out there and leave Caitlin by herself, he had to keep her safe.

"I guess..." he responded when she said that they just had to wait it out, though it was clear that his attention was on what was happening outside.

"Cassie's in the hero dorm, right? I hope she's doing okay...She doesn't seem to do well in situations like this from what I have seen" Caitlin looked like she was the most concerned for Cassie out of everybody she knew. She was starting to think that she probably thought of Cassie as a sort of sister, in a way, with how she always felt protective over Cassie in a sisterly kind of way. Which she decided came out as being a very strange thing in her head, because Tyler was considered to be a brother figure in Cassie's mind, and Caitlin's mind in general . So that meant that Cassie's brother and sister figures were dating each other. She shook off that thought, though it did give her a bit of amusement, which she really did need right now. Tyler would probably just think she was weird for chuckling at nothing, though.

Sarah listened to Jay and Thomas as they discussed, holding the former a bit tighter when he put his head against her shoulder, though not enough to make him uncomfortable. She wanted to comfort him, rather, as she could easily tell the alarms and other noises were taking their toll on him and causing him to feel distraught. She did wish to chime in though.

"Perhaps... Perhaps we should head to the common rooms instead of staying here? It might not seem like such a good idea, but if you think about it a bit, we might be safer there. I think most of the others should be out there, and in the event that whatever is out there does break through, we will be better off in greater numbers. Or at least, that's what I think." She stated. "What do you think?"
