Corrian wrote:Cassie gave a nod at what Josh mentioned they needed next, and got ready to head out again to do as she was told, since she had to be pretty much told everything since she didn't know what she was doing, but she ended up stopping herself and turning back to face Josh as he spoke, and she had something of her own she wanted to say. She found herself blushing and smiling shyly at what he said, and she wasn't sure why. She let out a quiet thanks to him before speaking her mind.

"I wouldn't mind going camping for real sometime...With a tent and actual camping supplies. I've never really been camping before. It would be nice..." Cassie bit her lip before continuing. "I'd want to go camping with someone, though..." She looked at Josh like she couldn't get herself to actually say what she was thinking, which was that she wanted to go camping for real with him of all people. She just hoped he got what she was implying so she didn't actually have to say it. When her gaze fell upon him for too long, though, she turned away and started blushing again, looking down at the ground shyly, and she let out a cute little nervous chuckle.

Josh found himself chuckling at her reaction, before listening to Cassie. Shrugging, he knelt down and grabbed a pair of stones from the ground, before scraping them together in an attempt to get a spark.
"Well, yeah. Camping is dangerous by yourself- Oh." Josh's mind finally registered the hint, helped by the faint sound of Goltia screaming in frustration in the back of his mind. Standing back up, his cheeks coloring slightly as he tried to not to grin like a madman. He was only partly successful, as a rather happy smile appeared on his face.
"Well, if you want... I can go with you. I mean, if you like," he said, idly scrapping the stones together.

___"I don't know what you ah' talking about, eh," Taylor stated with incredulity, her Bostonian accent mixed with heavily-flanderized Central Canadian English. "Why don't people mistake me for Irish or Scottish?" Taylor asked sarcastically, her Bostonian accent replaced with an American broadcast voice that still retained the intonation. The helmet was so loose on her head that she took it-off, the lack of superpowers removing necessary abilities to distort space via headgear. Taylor's hair was red, burnt orange specifically, and was frizzled by the environment in addition to other effects of the tropical climate. It was relatively short on the front and sides in that it did not go below her jaw, noticeably lacking a fringe with multiple strands. What was notable about this straight hair was that it was relatively long in the back, going below her shoulders though not reaching her waistline. The fact that this hair, both thick on the head and long in the back, was able to fit in that helmet was a visual incongruity. The lack of another superpower also meant that, for now, there were no illusory powers; the costume was just a vaguely paramilitary uniform with an unique helmet that did little to hide Taylor's identity.
___"If I may venture a guess, you are from Australia, no?" Taylor asked as she used her helmet as a makeshift seat. With the fact that she was confused for a group of people who usually get confused with Americans, it was unclear whether Taylor was just making a poor guess or whether she could tell that Jun was a New Zealander and was poking fun at the mistake.

He gave a nod to what she said about finding materials to make a shelter,"Alright," He said, listening to her footsteps as she walked off. Once she was gone, he got down on his hands and knees and began looking for a rock with a hole or dip in it that they might be able to boil water in, and was obviously careful not to fall in to the water.

After a few minutes of looking for materials, Sarah returned to the river where Jay was, dragging along with her hands as many large branches as she could find, thinking that they would suffice. Slung on her right shoulder were several vines that she expected would be useful to craft a shelter of sorts to protect herself and Jay from the weather.

Looking around, she noticed Jay on his knees, apparently looking for something near the river. He really was trying his best to help her with the whole survival thing. She found that admirable. It put a smile on her face, anyhow.

"I'm back." She announced to him, and placed everything on the ground and readied herself to begin working on the shelter.

"Haha - deserved that one I guess. I'm from New Zealand and not great at telling the difference between Americans and Canadians," Jun confessed, grinning while also feeling curiously hypnotized by Taylor's hair as she went on, "So I usually just guess Canadian, since Americans don't get annoyed if I'm wrong but the opposite sometimes pisses off Canadians a bit so it's really just going with the safe bet."
She stood up straight and flexed her lower back, ignoring the 'tent' for just now and asking, "So what's it like here?"

Cassie started to frown for a moment when she realized Josh didn't get what she was implying, but her expression quickly changed to a faint shy smile when it seemed to hit him what she had been implying. She then smiled even more at his reply to it, and she clasped her hands together in a nervous manner.

"S-Sure" Cassie smiled at him. "Whenever we get the time to actually...camp and stuff...Next summer maybe? I don't know..." She looked a bit uncertain about how they would actually get around to being able to camp, but at the same time, she was definitely looking forward to it. She could really use something like a camping break in her life right now...

"I...I probably should go and get...stuff" Before making an even bigger fool of herself then she already was with how bad she was at this whole talking to a boy she liked thing, she ran off into the woods to go and get some big leaves.

"I heard, somewhere, that Canada and Australia are the highest in the world when it comes to the percentage of people who feel pride in their country, so good call," Taylor stated, a chuckle concluding that rumination. When Huang asked about the school, there was little to be said. "I just got here from Cape Canaveral. I guess something notable is that they are not operating on Eastern Standard time, which would coincide with the time of the United Nations Headquarters. They seem to be operating on Greenwich Mean Time, possibly due to some arbitrary want to be on Greenwich Mean Time. Tonight's just going to be fun," Taylor answered, not exactly pleased about the prospect of forcing her body to sleep without feeling tired in the slightest.

Josh smiled Cassie's general awkwardness, before returning to attempting to generate a spark from the stones. After several attempts, Josh growled and tossed one of the stones away, before attempting with another stone from his pile.

Alexi

Smoking on a space station wasn't among the most illegal things Alexi had done. That honor went to breaking into a UN Compound and stealing a APC.
"No. Most illegal thing was when I broke Moscow," she muttered softly, staring at the half-gone cigarette between her fingers. Watching as a few hanger bay workers moved some supply crates from a shuttle, Alexi's mind drifted. Why do I get the feeling that Father is going to be the death of me?
"You know, you really shouldn't be smoking." Alexi glanced to where the voice came from, and found herself staring at Markus Moyle, an amused smirk on his face.
"Oh like I care. I have an addictive personality and a healing factor, and by God I needed a smoke," Alexi replied. She did, however, flick the offending object to the ground before crushing it under her boot. Nodding, Markus leaned against the wall beside Alexi, his hands in his pockets.
"I understand. Sometimes you've gotta clear your head. Refresh your thoughts," he said. Alexi nodded, crossing her arms as the workers moved away from the shuttle.
"Yeap. And my thoughts want coffee. Want to join?" She asked, as the pre launch warnings sounded.
"Gladly."

Armin sat nerviously on the shuttle, he was going to teach at Super Hero High, a school for superhero's based in space, only problem was he had a slight fear of height's. At some point while waiting for the shuttle to begin it's journey he fell asleepHe didn't knotice the shuttle leave and woke up about halfway there, looking into the vast void of space he wondered what were the chances that something would go horribly wrong and he would be sucked into the never ending pit known as space. He watched the shuttle dock in the hanger, then he walked into the station. Armin stood there looking around, not knowing where his office was.

Even new teachers had to go through security to be allowed onto the station, so when Armin arrived there was a guard waiting to greet him. The man was clad in a black uniform and hurried to approach Armin when he stepped off the shuttle.

"Good afternoon, Mister Hillman," he said, "and welcome to the Academy for the Empowered. Before I show you to your quarters you will need to pass through the security checkpoint. Please follow me." The guard showed the way over to a security checkpoint that looked very similar to what one might find in a regular airport. If Armin wasn't carrying anything dangerous or otherwise forbidden he would soon be on his way.

Terintania wrote:
(Cole)
Cole started adjusting the wood and moss in a particular way, then took a shoelace off his shoe, tying both ends to a stick. He then twisted another stick in the the shoelace, and placed the end of the second stick against a piece of wood that was on the ground. With deep concentration, he began to move the first stick back and forth, like a violin bow, causing the second stick to spin against the bottom log. After doing this for a bit, smoke began to rise from the moss, which he'd placed under the bottom log. He blew gently on it, and a flame appeared. Giving a small smile, he picked up the moss and placed it in the firepit he had made. The fire began to expand, igniting the wood. He carefully put a few more sticks on it, and then sat back, staring into the fire.

Tyler returned from the woods after about ten minutes, dragging a few large sticks and carrying a bunch of vines. When he noticed that Cole had managed to get a fire started he looked pleased.

"Nice work Cole, that's a nice fire," he commented while depositing the materials nearby.

Then he got to work on building a foundation from a shelter from the materials he had gathered, though it would of course also need something that would actually provide shelter rather than just being a bunch of sticks. His plan was to use the palm trees to help support the shelter because they were a lot sturdier than anything they could build.

Dominic
Dominic smiled and nodded when Leroy paired Jun with a student whose partner had apparently decided to not follow instructions. It seemed better if the students were paired with each other so he didn't mind at all. After that he just went back to observing as Leroy had to inform a few of the students that they weren't allowed to search through the ruined village for supplies. Dominic was rather pleased that the students remembered the simulation well enough to recall that the village was there.

Then he frowned as the system suddenly informed him that one of the students, Jodelle, had suddenly logged off. Usually students could only log off on their own if the system decided that it was necessary to protect them from undue mental stress, so Dominic was immediately suspicious. After reviewing the situation he realized that Jodelle's partner had attacked her for no apparent reason, which was obviously entirely unacceptable. He appeared next to Simon and noticed that Leroy was also there, though he seemed a bit uncertain how to handle the situation.

"Simon, why did you attack Jodelle?" he demanded, rather more sternly than he usually spoke.

Simulation room
As always there was a guard stationed in the simulation classroom. Usually he didn't have much to do during classes, just sitting there and reading or something, and even when there was an ongoing security alert he didn't really have to do much. For that reason he found it very unusual when Jodelle suddenly opened her pod and got out, looking rather beside herself. That wasn't something that usually happened, as far as he knew it hadn't ever happened before.

"Miss, are you alright?" he asked her.

"Alright, you can use this firewood." Alex said, putting the firewood he had collected next to the fire pit. "Do we have to go catch something now? " He asked Hunter.

"Yeah? I don't even know what time I'm running on just now," Jun admitted, "Think I'm somewhere between New Zealand and Cape Canaveral, so Hawaii maybe? We crossed the dateline as well so technically it's still the day I left Taupo, even though that was yesterday? Fuck this time-travel bullshit!"
She said the last part laughing while driving the end of one stick into the ground using a rock as a hammer and making it a little more stable than the ones just laid on top of the tree. It would be worth doing the same with the other parts, she decided, but they would need longer sticks.
"I'm going to go find some more sticks for the roof," she announced, moving towards the forest in a direction which happened to be the one Leroy had also gone in, "Want to come along with?"

"This time zone stuff confused me enough without international date-lines," Taylor moaned, decidedly unhappy with the confusion of it. With the beckoning came Taylor. "Sure thing, I could use a break from that mess. Why not?" Taylor explained, no longer using her helmet as a makeshift seat. "So, any specifications for the sticks to be used for this shack, or will any do?" Taylor asked as her mind drifted away from that despicable topic.

Jun shrugged. "I guess anything a metre or longer will probably do; long enough to go from the ground to the palm tree trunk with a decent slope. Bigger the better; the wider we make the roof the more floor space we get and the less we'll have to 'snuggle' at night," she said the last part while turning her head to give Taylor a sly smirk.
She tramped on through the forest, wishing she had worn her hiking boots when she got into the sim pod. Jeans were a bad call as well; the ankles were already soaking up water from the mud and wet leaves they trampled through. She began thinking aloud, "If we had an axe. I bet we could, oh my god!
She had just entered a clearing and found herself confronted with the sight of a young man with dark hair covered in blood and being confronted by Mr Moreno and Mr Talisman. Jun clapped a hand over her mouth instantly but she had already given herself and Taylor away by he chatter beforehand.

"If the shelter is small enough that snuggling is necessary, you are building it wrong," Taylor chuckled at the thought of such a poorly designed shelter, the euphemism lost on Taylor. The question of the exercise bothered her, but that was less important than the surprise.
"Blaspheme," Taylor autonomously replied. There was no connection made in Taylor's mind between Jun's trying to quite herself and a sudden need for silence at first. "Oh," Taylor said at the sight of the blood-soaked sociopath, surprised by the sight of the blood-soaked maniac and the teacher more than anything else. The situations simply registered not in Taylor's mind.

Armin allowed himself to be checked and allowed the man to check a dufflebag he was carrying full of ACD's. After finding nothing suspicious he allowed armin through, armin walked around for about five minutes till finding his way to his office. Inside he sat down his ACD's and wondered what to do for his first class, he decided that after teaching them how to use the ACD's, he would let them practice on birds. Seeing as though he had some time on his hands he started checking ACD's to make sure they were still functional. Only one was damaged internaly but he fixed it fairly quickly.

"So, what's the story with your arm?" Alexi and Markus sat in the teacher's lounge, coffees in hand. Markus blinked, before shrugging his jacket off and tugging his shirt sleeve up to the shoulder, exposing the mechanical arm in full.
"This? Well... I did jobs, once. Dirty jobs. My reflexes were always insane, and I was always a good shot, so I was able to make a living like that. Of course, one day I got hired to take out a drug lord. Business as normal, except the door I tried to get into the compound through had a block of explosives attached," Markus said, tapping his knuckles against the arm.
"Big boom, bye bye arm?" Alexi said. Markus nodded, letting his sleeve fall back down.
"Yeap. A millisecond slower and my entire body would have been gone. Luckily, I found someone who was able to build me a new arm and well, here I am." Markus smiled as he pulled his jacket back on.
"Hmm. How old are you?" Alexi asked. Markus blinked, before answer.
"26. Why?" Alexi chuckled, before giving Markus a somewhat sultry look.
"Good. It's not creepy that I was checking you out then," she said. Markus gave a bark of laughter, before sipping at his coffee.
"Where did you learn to fight like that? You're crazy good for someone so young," he asked. Alexi beamed at the compliment, before setting her coffee down.
"Well, this story starts when I was 14..."

Cassie
Cassie wandered off into a slightly deeper part of the forest, and she started to get a bit nervous. As much as she was a nature loving girl, deep woods still made her nervous, especially when she was by herself. If she was with one of her friends, like Josh, she would likely be less nervous. But at the same time, a part of her wanted to make herself get over that bit of nervousness, so she was glad that she was alone, to get over her fears of the darker, deeper woods. Especially when compared to some of the deep forests in Washington (That haven't been clearcutted vigorously), this was nothing.

But as she was wandering through the forest, she suddenly froze when she ran across a giant bear sitting down on the ground, staring at her. If her memory served her for something useful unlike it usually did, this kind of bear was a grizzly bear, and they were the most aggressive when it came to humans. She started to shake and look rather startled by the sight, and she wasn't sure what to do now, so she completely froze on the spot.

And then, the bear, also known as Tom, charged her, and the last thing Josh ever heard from Cassie ever again was a loud scream before she was completely ripped to shreds, limb from limb...

Wait, something went wrong there.

Rewind.

Cassie wandered off into a slightly deeper part of the forest, and she started to get a bit nervous. As much as she was a nature loving girl, deep woods still made her nervous, especially when she was by herself. If she was with one of her friends, like Josh, she would likely be less nervous. Especially when compared to some of the deep forests in Washington (That haven't been clearcutted vigorously), this was nothing.

She started to grab a bunch of the rather large leaves scattered about laying on the ground, and she decided that the leaves of this size were really kinda awesome. Once she ended up grabbing enough that it made it rather hard for her to even see, she started to giggle a little, finding it amusing.

Eventually she got enough to satisfy herself, and walked back to the camp. But from Josh' perspective, she looked like one giant walking plant, Cassie herself being buried amongst the leaves that she was carrying. It was a rather humorous sight, and even she thought so.

"I think I got enough leaves" Cassie said, dropping all but one onto a pile on the ground near Josh. "These leaves are huge!" She held one of them up above her head, smiling to herself at the size of them. "I love nature" She added, and then put it on top of her head to rest there, it bending and obscuring her face a little. She started to giggle and smile brightly before putting the last leaf down on the pile.

Jodelle
"The student I was with fucking killed me!" Jodelle took repeated deep breaths to calm herself, because it was all just a bit disorienting. It may have just been a simulation, but it sure as hell felt real, and the momentary moment of being dead certainly felt strange. And was about exactly how she expected it to be. She had a feeling she wouldn't be getting along with this Shade all too well in the future, and she seriously hoped he wouldn't be that stupid outside of a simulation class.

"I...I think I'm okay, though" Jodelle said after a bit of calming herself down, but still in a little bit of shock at what had happened. "Should I...Should I go back in?" She asked the guard.

Josh looked up when he heard Cassie's footsteps, and burst out laughing at how silly she looked. His laughter continued as she messed around with a leave, before finally being contained as he wandered over and grabbed a stack of leaves.
"Yeah, they are. Perfect for what we need them for," he said, still recovering from his laughing fit. He then carried the leaves over to their makeshift shelter, now with smaller sticks leaned up against the main support stick. Placing his leaves against the sticks gently, Josh layered them carefully, making sure to leave as few gaps as possible.

The guard frowned when Jodelle shouted about how someone had killed her in the simulation. From what he had been told it wasn't supposed to be the kind of class where the students fought each other so it seemed like things weren't going exactly as planned for the teacher.

"Unless the teacher has said that you are free to leave early it would probably be a good idea to get back in there," he suggested when she asked what she should do.

(Seth)
"Fine, whatever. I'll look again, though I didn't see anything like that," Seth said grumpily,"Will you stop standing there doing nothing but swatting mosquitoes?" He snapped as he walked off to find a sharp object.

(Jay)
Jay tilted his head when Sarah said that she was back, and then sat down with a sigh. He flicked at the water beside him. "I thought maybe I could find a rock that we could boil water in, but no luck," He said, sounding kind of down. He felt kind of useless here, and like Sarah was the one who had to do all the work. Hell, she had to help him walk, so he didn't trip and fall. "Anything I can help with?" He asked, sounding like he felt he knew the answer already.

(Cole)
Cole inclined his head, then continued to attend to the fire. "We...." He trailed off, staring in to the fire. He slowly moved his hand so the flames just barely licked his palm. "Pain.....The body's way of telling that something is wrong....." He removed his hand from the fire, and examined his slightly burned palm, before looking back at the fire,"How can something so beautiful, so hypnotic, be so undefeatably destructive?"

(Simon)
Simon straightened up and turned on his heel to face the two teachers, then tilted his head one way, and then the next at Dominic's question. "Because....I....was....BORED!" He spoke quietly at first, then suddenly yelled the last word. He suddenly started giggling in the sort of high-pitched way generally associated with insanity. "I'm still bored," He giggled, shaking his head. Suddenly his laughter ceased and he straightened up so that he was standing with his back straight. He looked at Dominic with disdain, as if he saw him as lesser. "To bad her death is only temporary in here, eh?" He said, grinning. The smile didn't reach his eyes, however. He licked some blood from his hands before tossing the stick in his hands to his his other hand and pointing it at Leroy. "You know, I admire you. A mass murderer who was never caught!" He gave a giddy chuckle,"And now! You're making a life for yourself here at this school! How twisted is that? I love it. Only one complaint, though....." He prodded Leroy with the stick,"You're too nice to your victims....You need to hear them scream! To beg for mercy. Ohhhh, come on, don't tell me you never liked it!"

Leroy grabbed the stick out of Shade's grasp, his eyes icy cold, in more then the color sense. "I never killed for my own enjoyment," He said, tossing the stick aside. Before he could do anything else, Shade moved away from him.

Shade sidled over to Dominic, getting uncomfortably close to him. "What about you? Hm?" His 'Hm?' was high-pitched, as he looked Dominic over. "You ever kill anyone? Did you enjoy it?" He gave another small chuckle and stroked Dominic's chin, before taking a few steps back,"The way of life is death. Everyone lives, everyone dies," He said in a sing-song way,"I only help the process along. Why not enjoy it? Everyone dies at some point. Everyone goes through grief of someone dying at some point. Chances are, they'll die in pain, too. So what's the problem? SHUT UP!" The last part seemed to have been to himself. He suddenly dissolved in to a fit of giddy, high laughter.

(Hunter)
Hunter got the fire burning strong, then turned to Alex. "We can focus on looking for fruit and whatnot for now. I'll go look, you stay here and make sure the fire doesn't burn the forest down," He suggested, before heading out to look for food.
Times are looking grim these days~

"Who the fuck's this guy?" Jun breathed to Taylor, going tense as she watched the scene unfold. She instantly regretted speaking as she caught sight of the psychotic student's glare - fortunately directed at Mr Talisman rather than herself. She wanted to run but, knowing she was already seen, there seemed no point. It's only a simulation, she reminded herself, it's only a sim; he can't hurt me here.

As she worked, Sarah listened to Jay. Hearing that he had no luck finding something to boil water, her expression decayed a little, but she made sure not to show that in her voice, instead trying to encourage him. "I'm sure you can find one." She said as she worked. When he asked if there was anything she could do to help her, she stopped working, looking at him, and then down at the shelter she was building, before speaking.

"Actually, yes. Stand up and wait there, okay?" She said to him. Afterwards, she stood up herself and picked up what she was making. So far, ti didn't have much of a form: There was one long branch, and several others running across its length, tied down to it with vines. Stopping next to Jay, she had him hold the construct by what was the 'main' branch.

"Hold this steady while I work on it, alright?" She asked him, before setting to work once again. It was definitely easier for her to work on it while standing, so his offering to help was certainly... Helpful. She was currently trying to make a 'grid' of sorts with the branches, one that wouldn't break down, which was what the vines were for.

Cassie
Cassie giggled cutely again when she made Josh laugh, and hearing Josh laugh made her happy and smile brightly. If he was happy, so was she. This simulation was turning out to not be as bad as she had anticipated it would be. And she expected it all had to do with Josh being here with her. Though, there were a few people she could think of where it could possibly not be as bad as she might make it out to be in her head automatically. But she was still glad it was Josh, and how even when they were supposed to be surviving, they were having a little fun.

Cassie came over and followed Josh over to their makeshift shelter, and watched Josh work. Not because she was being lazy, but because she was trying to learn how to do it herself, since she really had absolutely no idea how to do it. However, she looked to be watching him intently as he worked, before joining in with him, but working even slower because she didn't want to mess anything up as she was afraid to do, unsurprisingly when you thought of the fact this was Cassie and all. Of course, any normal person would be, but her more so. It looked like she did rather good with it, though, despite her concerns, and even if she did it slowly. She didn't say anything, though, working in silence.

Jodelle
"Okay then...Thanks" Jodelle said, hopping back into the pod and appearing back into the simulation, right where she had died, alive and well again. She had the brief that that it would be extremely odd if she had ended up coming back into the simulation, lying dead on the ground, so she was relieved when she came back alive and well. Though, at the same time, she was pissed as hell. It almost felt like she had been given a second chance to kick the ass of the guy who had killed her, so it took everything that she had to avoid the urge to sock him in the face and attempt to beat the shit out of him, because she knew that was a dumb idea for multiple reasons. She did, however, wish that Iden could at least do something, but even he was restricted by the suppressors.

"You fucking killed me!" Jodelle shouted at Shade/Simon. Those were words she never expected to put together to make a sentence that actually made sense. She clenched her fists tightly together, but since there appeared to be TWO teachers here, she let them take care of the psycho, however they saw fit to do so.

"Okay, fine." Alex sat down next to the fire, and added the occasional stick to keep it going.

"Oh, right," Makoto said, lulled-out of the distraction by the sudden cut of time. With a need for duty to distract herself, he settled on a labor-intensive task. She found just that in the form of a short coconut palm that was too young to bear fruit. Makoto went to work on the splitting of the stem vertically. As though the tree and the mosquitoes had a symbiotic relationship, Makoto got a cut from the tree as the attempt was made.

"Again, just got here," Taylor responded in a hushed tone that was still loud. Something happened that took Taylor aback at the thought of it.
When Leroy's response was not a denial of participation in murders, but justification for it, Taylor's mind raced. A teacher was a murderer. No matter Moreno's reaction, the seed was planted in Taylor's mind.
"Hand the knife," Taylor asked as her mind stewed in thoughts surrounding how the school accepted a soon-to-be murderer as a student and hired another as a teacher.
