Cole twitched away from Tyler when he walked over to him in the endless white room, but only slightly. Before Tyler even spoke, Cole began to ramble, looking around the room. "Is that what nothingness looks like? Can't be. White is a color, so it's something. Black is, too. Huh?" With the 'huh', he looked at Tyler and blinked. "Survival means nothing to the dead," He said, giving a short, kind of loopy chuckle. He then put both hands on his head and shook it back and forth. "I....I can't....remember. Too....Hard....To....Think......." He then lowered his hand and looked around the endless white room again, his gaze distant. "Wood, friction, smoke. Flames," He paused to give a dreamy smile,"Little sister laughs...." Suddenly his smile turned to a deep frown, and he seemed to become slightly more see through.

Tyler wasn't at all sure what to make of Cole's answer to his question, but he chose to interpret the confusing disjointed response as a 'no'. Since Cole apparently knew nothing useful he hoped that his own basic knowledge would be enough. The government had forced him to learn some basic survival skills while he was imprisoned by them, a part of their plan to turn him and everyone else they had kidnapped into perfect little soldiers. Someone who couldn't stay alive out in the wilderness wouldn't make a good enough soldier for their purposes.

"Don't worry, I know some of that stuff," he said to Cole, "just follow my lead, okay?" He then looked around, noticing that a few of the new students seemed to be having trouble finding partners and thinking to himself that Leroy really should try to help them with that.

This new copy was obviously frightened of something, and the novelty of it's method of appearance was further cause for concern. There was something strange going on with this new one and he wanted to know what.

"Who are you?" he demanded sternly of it.

"For someone who is supposed to be the school counselor to help people with mental issues and just general issues altogether, you seem pretty mental yourself" Andrew said to the counselor who pretty much just talked to herself and teamed up with herself. He thought she seemed a little nuts for someone who was supposed to be supposedly helping people like Cassie.

"Um...I can fish. And start fires. And make some things" Andrew said in a not particularly convincing tone of voice. "I may not be the most helpful but I can do some things that are useful..." Andrew said, really not doing a good job at making himself come off as a good choice for a teammate.

Leroy was watching over the class, and shot a glare at Andrew before walking over to him. "I'd of thought you'd have learned not to be rude while in my class. Luckily for you, I can't really do anything, but after that stunt you played with Cassie earlier, I'd be careful if I were you. Besides, you don't have to be crazy to sarcastically talk to yourself. I think you're crazier if you never talk to yourself at all," With that, he turned and walked over to Elizabeth. "I guess you get to be stuck with me, seeing as we're both going to be overseeing the class. He looked around the class, about ready to start throwing people together since they didn't seem able to choose teammates on their own.

Then another thought crossed his mind, and he walked over to Dominic. "Is there a way to prevent the students from using their powers, or would that require time to do?" He asked.

(Hunter)
Hunter walked over to Alex. "You can be on my team, if you want. I know enough survival skills to get by, and no one else seems to be rushing to team up with me, so, yeah," He gave Alex a grin, his miss-matched eyes, one blue and one green, light with cheerfulness. It seemed Leroy's rudeness or the idea of this class didn't phase him a bit.

(Cole)
Cole stared at Tyler in a way that made it clear that it was clear to him that Tyler hadn't quite understood what he was trying to say. It didn't matter, he wasn't sure he could think well enough to do much, anyway. So, he just sort of fell silent. Well, beyond randomly muttering to himself here and there, accompanied with occasional nervous glances and twitches.

(Jay)
Jay glanced at Sarah when she tugged at his arm, then spoke to him, before giving a nod and following her off to the side. "How much do you know about survival?" He asked her. He know basically nothing about it, because his parents had never bothered to teach him, and he had never gone to school where he might have learned something about that.

(Simon)
Shade realized that the choices for teammates were running out fast, so he headed over to one of the few people left: Jodelle. "I see you're still looking for a teammate," He said, crossing his arms and looking her up and down. "I guess you'll have to do. I'd probably do this better on my own, but I don't think I'd be able to get away with that," He said.

(Iden)
Iden floated around in the white room. Guess we have a teammate, He said, floating down next to her.

Once she felt they were far enough from everybody so as to not get mixed up with any of the others, Sarah stopped, though she didn't quite let go of Jay's hand. Hearing his question, she thought for a bit before answering. "Well... Wilderness survival, right? Not too much. I have... Some basic notions, I guess, but that's it." She explained. Not that it worried her a lot, though. This was a survival class, and Leroy himself did say that he would help the teams out and give them a few pointers, so she was certain she would learn useful things. Surely, he wouldn't go against what he'd already said. While it seemed indeed that he didn't mind whatever the students thought of him, he was still a teacher, bound to some rules at least, and he didn't seem like the kind to just mess with students for the sake of it. He might seem harsh, but that was likely because he thought he had to be for the students' benefits. In that regard, he wasn't the only teacher who did that.

But this was all speculation on her part, anyway.

She let out a slight yawn. "Anyway, and you?" She asked.

Josh opened his eyes as the simulation appeared in front of him. Looking around, he frowned.
"Cassie, you around here?" he said, his voice carrying rather far.

Meanwhile, Goltia and Gracie appeared near each other, the pair quickly moving to each other's sides.
"Seems interesting," Grace said. Goltia snorted and nodded.
"I wonder what the asshole's got in store for us."

Vern with no idea of who was who started asking around, "anybody good at hunting, I don't knownhow but I can do wilderness survival in general."

Michiko just simply stated, "I need a partner still, also next simulation could we have everybody trying to survive in Tokyo?"
Broadside dead ahead!

No, this comment is not meant to be sarcastic.

Jay tilted his head when she yawned, even though he was facing away from her. Not that it would matter if he was, anyway. "No. I've never even watched a show or read anything that might give me some idea of how to survive in the wilderness. Are you tired?" He asked, the question directed at her yawn. "Feeling fine?" He added, remembering that she had been sick earlier.

(Leroy)
Leroy looked around at the students. There were very few who had to team up anymore. He decided to help the last few people out. He walked over to Vern. "You'll be with her," He said, gesturing to Michiko. He tilted his head at her question, eyes narrowing slightly in thought. "Seems a bit in bad taste, since Tokyo just got nuked," He said, but amazingly, he didn't outright refuse the idea. "I have an idea for the next simulation that I do, but perhaps in the future we can do one like that. I think it would be a good idea." He then turned his attention back to the rest of the class,"Anyone else still need a teammate?" He called, looking around the white room.

(Hunter)
"Cool," Hunter said,"We should do alright, then." He glanced around, seeing that all his friends had found teammates. "I hope this class turns out better then the simulation we just had," He said, thinking that if it went badly, it would probably be purely Leroy's fault.

Sarah nodded idly at Jay as he explained that he didn't really know anything about survival at all. She then heard his questions and, figuring he was concerned, smiled a bit to herself. "Oh, just a little. Getting sick earlier got me a little bit tired and sad, but that's it. I'm fine. Thanks." She replied to him.

"Drasil," John said to the new copy of Antonion, "you seem very nervous, is something wrong?" He still held his cane vaguely pointed in the direction of Drasil, and there was still suspicion apparent in his manners and his voice. Until he was sure that there was nothing be be worried about he was going to worry, that was a lesson he had learned the hard way.

Dominic
Dominic appeared in the white room some thirty seconds after Leroy and the students had done the same, having been busy readying the last aspects of the simulation. To put together something useful in so short a time was actually a rather exciting challenge, he found, even if it wasn't something he'd want to do regularly. Soon after he had appeared Leroy came over to him to ask if it was possible to shut down the students' powers and he responded with a small nod before calling up a holographic interface and pushing a few buttons.

"There we go," he said, "I've shut down their powers." Leroy and Elizabeth might notice that their powers had disappeared also, which Dominic realized within a few seconds. "Wait, hold on, gotta fix this..." a few more buttons were pressed and then his colleagues had their powers restored. "Now we're all set. I forgot you two haven't been registered in the system so it just lumped you together with the students. It's all good to go now though." He smiled pleasantly at Leroy.

"Well, I don't like the sound of that," John muttered grumpily in response to Drasil's cryptic statement that some Chosen was going to come. In his experience people who titled themselves 'Chosen' were always bad news, without exception. As Antonio started glowing again John once more gathered his focus to be prepared in case he had to act, and then he pulled out a radio.

"Jenkins, clear the gym and have everyone stand by, this might get a lot worse and I'd prefer to do this somewhere we can contain it," he said into the radio.

"Very well," Jenkins answered after a moment, as calm as ever, "I will make the arrangements, and the headmaster must be informed. Are we to expect intruders again?"

John eyed Drasil for a moment before answering. "Yes, I believe that is a possibility. Let me know when everything is ready."

With that done the tattooed man turned his attention back to Drasil, his fingers tightening their grip on his cane. "Who is this chosen of the void you talk about?" he asked.

Jordan was not happy. Then again, he hadn't been in a very long time. The entire reason why he was where he was in the first place was entirely his fault. He would never forgive himself for what he had done. However, at the same time, he knew that he had to keep other people safe from himself, and in order to do that he would need help. He had initially run away, hoping that he could sort out the problem simply by avoiding it, but that was not the case. The only thing that running away seemed to do was make him feel even more guilty about what he had done.

His parents had always told him about how those with powers were always too dangerous, were always the ones who caused all the trouble in the world, but he had ignored them. The people around him had always treated him as an outcast, calling him 'weird' and generally stayed away from him, but he had regarded them as jerks, saying that they judged most people that way. However, he now knew that they were all right.

His childhood friend had always stayed by his side, though. His friend was always there for him, always there to support whatever Jason was feeling, and was his only friend for a majority of his life. He was the only good thing in Jordan' life, and Jordan was thankful.

Then his parents came in and told him something that he would never forget. They informed him that he was adopted. Not only that, but they informed him that they had adopted him through human trafficking, so they also had no idea who his real parents were, or even if they were still alive. This was devastating for Jordan, who, while skeptical about his parent's judgement of other people, had always held them in very high regard. To find out that he was not related to them only escalated the conflicts that had previously almost gone unnoticed but were now ignited with the rebelliousness that was the teenage years, combined with his rage that they had kept such a secret from him.

So, like any person in his situation, Jordan turned to his one and only friend for advice, and to simply vent about his parents. Like always, his friend was there for him. But then they got into an argument, and then...The blood, oh god, the blood. He could still smell it, he could still see the shock in his eyes, the look of betrayal deep on his face.

Jordan held back a vomit at the memory, but he knew that he would never be able to forget that day, and in a way, he didn't want to. He always wanted to remind himself of why he needed to be kept under control, and what the consequences would be if he used his powers on another living being. He always wanted to remember it, because he was afraid of the monster that he might become if he didn't.

But Jordan knew that where he was today, where he was right now, was the next step to becoming a better person. He was heading to the academy for the empowered, a place where those who were as unfortunate enough as he was to be gifted with a similar curse to his own. A place where they could hone their powers to the point where they wouldn't be able to accidentally harm anyone, where thy could eventually learn how to use their powers for the greater good.

Jordan just hoped that it wasn't too late.

He got off of the shuttle that he had been in for god knows how long, and waited to be escorted to wherever he needed to be.

A guard was waiting for Jordan as he stepped off the shuttle. He approached the new student with a pleasant smile on his face.

"Good day," he said, a hint of a German accent in his voice, "please hold still for a moment." He then ran a small electronic device in front of Jordan's face and checked the screen on it. "Mister Miles, welcome to the Academy for the Empowered," the guard said once he had used the small device to verify the identity of the new student. "Please bring your luggage and follow me," he then instructed and led the way over to a security checkpoint near the doors leading out of the hangar bay. The checkpoint looked vaguely like what one would pass through at an airport before getting to the planes, a small conveyor belt passing through a box-shaped machine and a security gate next to it. There was no sign of any other guards there.

"Please place your luggage on this conveyor here," the guard instructed and pointed at the machine, "and then step through the gate." Both Jordan and his luggage would be scanned to make sure that he wasn't trying to bring any forbidden items onto the station, a list that included everything from knives to bombs.

While Jordan had left home in a hurry, he had left with a few essentials in a suitcase: 6 full outfits and basic hygiene products. He put this on the conveyor belt, and walked through the security gate when prompted. He flinched when he saw bombs on the list of items that were not included, because he was, technically, a bomb.

"Sorry to pester you, but would you mind telling me where I should be right now?" Jordan asked the guard.

The guard looked satisfied with the information the machine provided him about Jordan and his luggage, since both were cleared. The upgraded scanners were huge timesavers because they didn't have to manually search through all the luggage the students brought anymore.

"Right, I'll be showing you to your room," he replied when Jordan asked to be given directions. Though he still smiled pleasantly at Jordan it was largely impossible to miss the fact that he seemed a bit on edge. "And after that I suppose you could try to make it on time for the class," he suggested while retrieving a small package from a locker nearby, "it should already have started but if you hurry you might be able to take part. Please grab your luggage and follow me."

The guard led the way out through the doors of the hangar bay and a short distance down the corridor outside, into an elevator. While waiting for the elevator to reach the correct floor he handed the small package of clear plastic to Jordan. "The package contains a map of the school, your schedule, and a personal keycard for you," he explained. A moment later a synthesized voice informed them that they had reached floor 2B, the vigilante dormitories, and the guard ushered Jordan out of the elevator and over to a room in the west wing.

"This is your room," he told Jordan, indicating the door behind him. "Is there anything you want to ask before I go?"

"Not particularly. I'll work everything else out for myself. Thank you for helping me though." Jordan said.

Jordan quickly unpacked his stuff into his room, and then headed to the class that was mentioned on his schedule. He then proceeded to find the class on the map, trying his best not to get lost.

"Alright, so I'm supposed to be taking self-defense with Mr. Leroy. Hope I'm not too late." Jordan said. However, looking at the schedule, he knew that he was almost certainly quite late to class. Seeing this, Jordan decided to run to class, hoping that the teacher would understand that he at least tried to get to class on time.

Upon arriving at Mr. Leroy's class, Jordan was just about out of breath. He walked inside, and noticed that everyone was in some form of simulation. Upon entering the simulation, he noticed that people were paired up.

~Great, just what the socially inept guy needed. A group assignment~ Jordan thought to himself.

He then walked over to the teacher in the hopes of explaining why he was late.

"Sir, I'm sorry I'm late for your class. I just got here, and it took me a little while to find your classroom. Am I too late to join in?" Jordan asked.

"H-he's coming. T-that Chosen of the Void is coming." He said as Antonio's chest starts to glow brown.

"H-he's Antonio's d-despair." Drasil said as the brown light goes out and form another copy of Antonio, this time with brown hair and eyes, Midgard. He's simply staring at the distant horizon, very quiet and still.

"No. I've never even watched a show or read anything that might give me some idea of how to survive in the wilderness. Are you tired?" He asked, the question directed at her yawn. "Feeling fine?" He added, remembering that she had been sick earlier.

Jay put his arm around her and kind of gave her a one-armed hug when she said it made her a bit sad. "Well, at lease we can do this class together. I'm glad you're feeling better," He said, tilting his head as someone else entered the simulation and spoke to Leroy. It wasn't a voice he recognized, so he figured the guy must be new, but he couldn't be sure.

(Leroy)
Leroy didn't even realize when his powers were turned off as well as the student's powers, because his powers weren't really a big part of his day-to-day life, and he didn't use them very often, so it just sort of made no difference to him. He gave Dominic a nod of thanks, then turned his attention to the latest student of all. It was someone Leroy was fairly certain he had never seen before, so he figured he must be new, which he figured must be why he was so late. He walked over to the new student, and what he thought was confirmed when the guy said he was new. "You arrived just in the nick of time," He said,"This is going to be a Survival simulation. You have to survive in the woods with your teammate...Which," He turned on his heel to look at the rest of the class, then walked over to Michiko. "Change of plan. You, you're with the new guy, over there," he said, gesturing at Jordan. "You," He looked at Vern,"You're with her," He gave a gesture at Taylor, indicating who he was talking about. As far as he could tell, everyone except Seth and Makoto were teamed up, so he went over to them. "I guess you two are going to be teamed together," He said, before heading back over to where Elizabeth was. He took a mental note of all the teams, then let the newly named teams greet each other a bit before starting the class. Or, more like, he let them do that while he figured out how to start the class.
Times are looking grim these days~

Jordan was overjoyed that he wasn't too late to join the class. From the sound of it, it would be a lot more interesting than any of the classes that he had taken at his own school, and he had never been in any form of virtual reality before, so this would be fun.

Jordan thanked his teacher for explaining the situation, and walked over to his partner.

"Hello, my name's Jordan. I guess we're partners for this. What's your name, might I ask?" He said, trying his best not to offend the first person he met.

Michiko looked at the guy, "I'm Michiko, and for your information I have practically lived in Tokyo for the entirety of my life and I have zero wilderness survival knowledge, what about you?" She replied plain and simple, making sure that her partner got those facts straight. She knew that she would fail the test miserably, however if there was a way to get into the system without being caught...

Vern went over to the other guy who was his partner and proclaimed, "hey I'm Vern, I have a decent amount of outdoors knowledge, what about you?"
Broadside dead ahead!

No, this comment is not meant to be sarcastic.

"I've got a little bit of wilderness experience, but, like you, I grew up in a city, so I don't have a huge amount of experience with surviving on my own, but I can make a fire and I learned how to fish, but only with a fishing rod, unfortunately. Not sure what we'll be given when we start, but I doubt that we'll be given anything useful." Jordan said.

"Although hopefully most of what we need to do will be intuitive. I know the rough idea of how to make a fire, for example, and we might be able to hunt some animals down for food. We probably won't be able to identify what plants are poisonous and what aren't, so meat would probably be the wise choice."

"And I assume that this Despair entity wants to mess with our plans? Take control of the gate we've been planning or something and then use whatever power lies beyond it to do something unspeakably evil?"

"H-he is the Chosen of the Lord of the Void, who wants to have everything, just like a black hole." Drasil said as Midgard stays still, quiet and staring at the wall, signs of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. "He will try to enter he Gate first, and what with Mana's connection to the rest of the Multiverse... The Lord of the Void will take away the very concept of Energy itself."
