Leroy was standing in the gym with his arms crossed, waiting for the students to arrive. The first of the late students to arrive was Cassie. He uncrossed his arms, his icy eyes watching her carefully. "It's fine," He assured her, just as Tyler walked in,"Don't worry about it." His voice was strangely missing it's normal icy quality, to an extent, anyway. The way he spoke to Cassie was gentle, or at least, more gently then how he spoke to most people.

He gave Caitlin, Tyler, Josh an icy glace, but only replied to what Vern said. "Maybe you should try using your map in the future. All the students are given one, to my knowledge," He said scathingly before walking towards the door. "The class will take place in the simulation room. The others have been kept waiting long enough," He said, heading out of the room and toward the simulation room.

Tyler was slightly surprised that Leroy's only reaction to their late arrival was an irritated glare, he had expected more of a reaction than that. It seemed like they weren't the only ones who had arrived late though, both Cassie and some kids he hadn't seen before were there and late from the looks of it. It seemed like they would have a few new classmates but there was no time for introductions because Leroy walked off and it seemed like a bad idea to lag behind. Being late again right after being late the first time would almost certainly warrant some actual repercussions, even if Leroy seemed rather pleased with just glaring murderously at everyone who annoyed him. With that in mind he went to follow the teacher out of the gym and to the simulations classroom.

He did wonder what Leroy might have planned for them. A simulation, obviously, but Leroy didn't seem the kind to ever plan anything fun so he assumed that it would just be something annoying and difficult. Possibly painful as well.

Cassie looked a bit surprised by Leroy's calmness to her being late, but relieved, as well, letting out a sigh. She gave off a nervous smile and said "Really?", but not really in a way that she actually expected an answer to that question. Since apparently the class was in the simulation room and not the gym, and he indicated so, she went and started following him to the simulation room without a word.

Caitlin
Caitlin didn't really pay Leroy's glare any mind, and instead focused on the fact he had been actually a bit nice to Cassie, though it didn't really surprise her all that much because she had heard that he really didn't mean to make Cassie have the problems that she did. He just didn't know her problems. She had heard that Cassie told him that she wasn't mad at him. She almost thought that the person who liked Leroy the most was the one that was actually most affected by an action of his. At least in the little protective circle of friends of Cassie's, anyway.

As they walked towards the simulation room, Caitlin spoke to Tyler.

"Leroy doesn't seem like all that bad of a guy. Did you see him being nice about Cassie being late? Of course we got the glares but still. I don't know if he's really all that bad" Caitlin whispered to Tyler.

Tyler glanced briefly at Caitlin when she started talking about Leroy, saying that she didn't think he was really all that bad based on the fact that he hadn't been an ass to Cassie just then. He didn't really agree with her, even if he had noticed that the teacher had been almost nice to Cassie. It seemed more like he either wanted to smooth over how he had made her go into shock or something during his first class, or maybe he was just playing favorites. Either way Tyler very much doubted that it had anything to do with actually being a decent person.

"I noticed that too," he said quietly, thinking that it might be a bad idea to voice his true opinions of the teacher while he was present.

"It's nice that you think so, Miss....Faulkner? But you'd be wrong,," Leroy said to Caitlin without even looking over his shoulder. The pause before her last name make it sound like he needed to actually try to remember her name, rather then just knowing it off the top of his head.

He walked in to the simulation room and turned to face the class."Before we get started, I'll explain the class. We're going to do a survival class. In teams of two, you'll be placed out in the woods, and you'll have to use what the forest has for survival. I'll move between the groups checking to see how you're all doing, and to give a little help, since we haven't done many survival classes. Also, no powers." He looked around the class, his eyes stopping on Jay, Cassie and Cole. He seemed to think for a bit, before just giving up on being teachery and calling people by their last names,"Jay will be teamed up with Sarah, Cassie, you're with Josh, and Cole......" He scanned the class before continuing,"Cole, you're with Tyler." He glanced at Tyler with a look that basically said 'Enjoy', before he turned toward the pods. "Everyone else can pick their teammates once we're in the simulation. Everyone get in a pod."

(Jay)
Jay was happy to be teamed with Sarah, though he felt kind of bad for her, because he felt she would probably have to do all the work, herself. He also appreciated that Leroy teamed Cassie with Josh, because they seemed to like each other. He wasn't sure whether he teamed Tyler with Cole because Tyler made it somewhat clear that he didn't much like the teacher, or just because he needed to team Cole with someone, and Tyler was convenient. He guessed it was probably the latter, due to the fact that most everyone in Leroy's class made it somewhat clear that they didn't like him, and he didn't seem to care very much, but who knows.

He 'glanced' at Sarah before heading over to one of the pods and climbing in.

Elizabeth hated mobile gaming. She didn't see the point to it. Well, she assumed that some people obtained enjoyment from sitting on the toilet and chucking round birds at poorly built constructions which protected pigs who are immense assholes. But she just didn't understand this. So what did she do? She decided to play Flappy Bird while gorging on chips in her office. Why that game? Well, because the creator of the game began whining about the immense popularity of the game and how he never wanted so much attention. So, Elizabeth, being the compassionate and kindhearted person she is, downloaded the game the day before it was removed from the app stores. She also had a friend make the game available to torrent on the internet, but that's a discussion for another time.

After about 20 minutes of playing that piece of crappy game, she heard the PA system make that annoying as hell screeching noise that occurs when someone uses it. Seriously, what asshole designs something like that? She then heard Leroy's cold voice speak into the PA to remind a certain group of students that they were late for his class. And so, the single greatest battle raged within Elizabeth. She had an internal battle with herself that required the greatest amount of introspection that she has ever done in her life. She asked herself a question that pondered the very depth of what exactly is her purpose in life: continue playing Flappy Bird, or to watch over Leroy's class period?

"...Fuck this," she decided as she chucked her phone away. It stopped inches from the wall and floated back into her hand. "The hell was I thinking?" Shaking her head, she left her office and went straight to the simulation room. She reached it soon enough to hear Leroy give his instruction to the students. "A survival simulation? Sounds...surprisingly not boring," she said out loud upon entering the room.
"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."—former Nixon domestic policy chief John Ehrlichman

Sarah, still with Jay, noticed that Leroy had finally arrived with the other students to give the class, and turned to him to pay attention. The class was going to be about survival, which could be interesting, and if Leroy was going to go back and forth explaining things, she might learn something useful. The no powers rule came as a bit of an annoyance, if only because she would have to make a conscious effort not to feel the animals around her with her 'blood sense', but otherwise she felt like she'd be fine. Evidently, though, she felt a bit bad about Jay, because he would probably have a hard time without being allowed to use his powers.

And then Leroy paired them up.

She didn't feel like that was a bad thing, though. It would allow her to look out for Jay, and she was fairly certain there were things Jay could help her out with.

Catching Jay glancing at her, and smiled at him, even though she knew he couldn't see it, before getting into one of the simulation pods herself.

Josh nodded in response to the instructions. He then winced as he felt a spike of pain in his shoulder, before turning and staring at the classroom door.
"Three... Two... One..." He muttered, before Goltia skidded around the corner, holding her shoulder. Grace appeared a moment later, panting and flushed.
"Sorry we're late," Goltia said sheepishly. Grace said nothing, instead opting to glare at the back of Goltia's head as she recovered her breath. The pair walked up to Josh, Tyler and Caitlin, before draping a arm around Josh and grinning.
"So, what's new?" she asked. Josh said nothing, instead nodding slightly towards Tyler and Caitlin. A few flashed images appeared in Goltia's mind, and her eyes widened slightly.
"Oh okay." She then yelped as Grace kicked the back of her shin.
"Fuck. You. Why did you. Have to run. That fast?" Grace said, panting through the sentence. As the pair started bickering between themselves, Josh sighed and rubbed his forehead.
"I'm related to that. No, I am that."

___"Great," Makoto muttered under his breath as the simulation was explained. It was not just due to poor expectations of Leroy's class, but also because she just checked her messages and there was much to be unhappy about. The first was a phone-call that threatened the pressing of charges for breaking the laws of time and space and suing for the same action using enough legal jargon to make her head spin--how they got the number being a different problem entirely that contributed to it. According to the claimant, Makoto's telekinesis somehow unconsciously broke enough laws of physics that the telekinesis caused an internet connection from the future to accidentally be accessible by somebody's tablet device in the past and allow them to be aware events before they were supposed to chronologically happen.
___"I need alcohol of some sort. Hell, there's a first time for ever', no, alcoholism is not the answer. I need a lawyer. What kind of asshole would do something similar to this? Now that I think about it, Leroy and Segura never said that they didn't have second jobs? No, no, not right. Leroy is a petty asshole here; that takes up too much time to be pedantic. In whose jurisdiction would thi'?" The second was a call from the Office of the Vice President of the United States stating that it would give a Vice Presidential Pardon For Crimes Against Space and Time for the criminal case if the charges are successfully prosecuted and would just use probation for the civil case as though that was a thing. The call only left Makoto more confused to the point where she was unsure of whether it was an elaborate joke or reality's servicing surrealist humor; the mere fact that the call referenced the "Vice Presidential Action Rangers" and mentioned that Vice President Joe Biden was currently practicing to do a motorcycle jump over the the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade made her err on the side of a prank, though the sheer boldness in the references to Futurama and the Onion did give the jokers a few points in terms of new-avenues of ridiculousness. "Then again, maybe reality just hates me. It would not surprise me. It is so ridiculous that I would not notice and probably miss the court-date." The idea that somebody outside of a select few in the USDoD knowing about the identities and powers was a bad one.
___"So, how about I be your partner for this simulation?" Sakura asked as Makoto nodded without thought. As the new members filed in, she noticed Taylor in the helmet. Multi-colored socks sometimes peaked as open space between the pant legs and the shoes were formed by walking. An idea processed through the mind of Makoto as the new student's head darted about constantly between various points, namely various students. A plan formed in her head as Sakura's teleported right in front of the student, unexpectedly for Taylor, with a handful of papers.
___"Here is a copy of all notes taken so far, all of which have been transcribed from handwriting into a paper with double-spacing, size twelve font, and Times New Roman typeface for your convenient usage. Consult me if you need assistance or whatever, man. Since I understand you are new and I am not available, may I recommend that you partner-up with," Sakura was explained before Makoto pulled Sakura-aside for a brief word.
___"On second thought, I release you from that informal contract. Partner her up with anyone else, just not who I think you are saying," Makoto vaguely commanded to a now confused Sakura. "I should probably state who that is, should I not? I was referring to Bramwell." Makoto was noticeably embarrased by a minor fax-pas, though Sakura commented on it not.
___"So, partner up with whoever you like, though I would recommend me just because I am the unofficial welcoming committee," Sakura's statement went as Taylor still said not a word. As Sakura temporarily took the masked-person's attention, Makoto murmured to Bramwell as a distraction.
___"Look, it is a sci-fi first-person shooter protagonist," Makoto joked in jest as Bramwell sat uncomfortably by moving away slightly to her confusion. "Right, I still need to take Leonard's suggestion and make a sarcasm sign," to her joking glee as Bramwell tried to creep-away slowly as her confusion deepened. It slipped her mind as the idea bout the new-student came to mind.
___"Sakura, take Bramwell on the mission," Makoto whispered into Sakura's ear with a silent agreement as Makoto proceeded forward to Taylor, who still had not yet spoken. "Anyway, I am Makoto, and would you want to be my partner?" Makoto stated with only a nod from Sakura, a hand held out for the new student as Taylor hesitantly shook it in agreement. With that, the two duos entered the pods.

Vern looked around at all the strange faces which he hadn't connected any names to yet, meanwhile pointing out, "oh greak I'll be removed from my own personal virtual world and put into someone else's. I think I'll die of boredom, and I'd like to point out that there is a monkey climbing allover you Leroy," he joked while an imaginary monkey climbed all over Leroy.

Michiko looked around for someone who looked like they could survive in the wildness. She knew she had zero knowledge or capability to survive in the wilderness, unless she was able to hack the system somehow. She also had a question for the teacher, "what will we have with us in the V.R.?"

Alex watched as the others climbed into the VR pods. A girl was looking around, she hadn't been matched up, and she clearly looked ill-equipped for this. Alex had some, very little knowledge on how to survive in the wilderness. When he lived on the outskirts of Toronto, a few blocks away lived a kid who's dad was in the army. Alex and that kid had always been friends. His name was Will. Will was a year younger than Alex, and Alex somewhat missed the fun they would have exploring the rather large woods behind Will's house. Those woods were where Alex had picked up some skills and knowledge from Will and his dad.
"Uh, teach? Who do I go with?" He asked.

Leroy glanced over at Elizabeth when she came in and spoke about his class sounding surprisingly not boring. "Right. I forgot that you wanted to watch my class," He said, sounding kind of like he would have preferred if she had forgotten, too, but also like he didn't mind a ton. "If you want to watch, get in a pod." He narrowed his eyes and looked over at Grace and Goltia when they said they were late, and then started arguing. "Do you think you two could focus and get in the pods? You've all kept the class waiting long enough," He said, sounding faintly irritated. As more students began to ask questions and make statements, his irritation seemed to increase, but he kept it tightly under control. It wasn't the questions that annoyed it so much as Vern's comments. "School's not meant to be fun," He said. He seemed even less entertained about the monkey comment. "The pods are over there," He said, pointing towards the pods before turning his attention to Michiko. "Nothing. You'll have to make use of what you find. That's the whole point in this class." Last but not least, he turned his icy gaze to Alex. How hard was 'pick their teammates once we're in the simulation' to understand? "Pick someone once in the simulation," He said, sounding kind of bored. "And don't call me that. My name is Leroy. Or Talisman, if you want to call me by last name."

(Cole)
Cole scooted over to Tyler and stood there for a second before making his way over to a pod and hopping in. He didn't seem particularly happy about doing another simulation. Not that there was much that Cole was happy about. Luckily for both him and Tyler, he was more solid then he had been for the other class, and could actually pick things up and make himself useful.
Times are looking grim these days~

Cassie wasn't so sure about the idea of a survival class. She didn't particularly like that she now had two classes in one day that she wasn't too fond of, but she would obviously just deal with it. But his choice of teaming her up with Josh made her a bit more relieved. At least she had someones he knew and trusted, and at least had a teammate in general. She gave a smile over in Josh' direction as Goltia and Grace came in, and then came over to him before she would head into the pods.

"I think you know more about survival than I do, so don't expect me to be all that useful..." Cassie said to Josh, letting off a frown and hanging her head. "Meet you in the simulation" She said, and her voice almost seemed shaky, her hand in her pocket, seemingly fiddling with something. It definitely looked like something was on her mind, and not something good, either.

Leroy's assertive attitude was scaring her a little. It reminded her of her father, even though his overall personality didn't remind her of him at all. Her father was just commonly blunt to her like that, though more aggressive, and it scared her. Turning her gaze away from Josh and the teacher, she started shaking and headed off to get into one of the pods and away from the crowds of people.

Caitlin
Caitlin twitched as Leroy responded to what she said. Apparently he was observant and she hadn't spoken quiet enough. And just the whole thing he said was...strange anyway. She decided not to dwell on it much, though.

When Leroy teamed Tyler up with Cole instead of her, she looked disappointed. This was a perfect simulation for her to work with Tyler and he ended up in a team with Cole and she with nobody. She gave a slight frown to Tyler and a shrug, surprised also because Leroy seemed to have picked the other couple-like people to team up, but not the both of them. With that, she headed into one of the pods.

Everyone Else
All the others just got into the pods.

Both of the students get into their own pods, Michiko however was finding every way she could to getninto the thing's coding at the same time while being discreet.

Fine then, don't have to be such a dick about it. Alex already disliked him. He climbed into one of the simulation pods, wondering how they would work, and what would happen next.

Thomas was late to class, again.

He ran down the halls after going to the gym, thinking that Leroy's class was back there. He must've missed the memo that they changed to a different classroom. He was quick through the halls, the tendons in his legs tightening with stress. Given how last class had gone, Thomas was skeptical of the teacher's ability. He made it into class late, still unsure of the current situation.

He had gotten very worked up over what had happened in the simulation, and though the issue was at least mostly solved, he still was stressed. He wanted to keep friendly with the Moyles, they seemed very nice and interesting (albeit most dysfunctional and mildly psychotic family he could think of). His behavior towards Grace was far from what he shouldve done. Not like I should blame myself, she did nearly kill me in a rather brutal way. he thought as he entered the sim room. He got into one of the VR pods, and felt the already familiar sensation of entering.

As Antonio's condition continued to change more precautions were taken. Everyone except for John were ordered to leave the room and seven guards were on standby in the hallway outside. John hoped that nothing bad was about to go down but he wasn't particularly optimistic about the chances of that, he could sense that there was something different about what was happening to the unconscious student this time compared to before. Precautions had to be taken.

He started reciting a mantra to himself, over and over again, random words with no apparent meaning. It helped him focus, and the imperceptible energies he was born with the ability to manipulate started shifting around him.

Tyler
Tyler wasn't particularly thrilled to be paired with Cole, but on the other hand he didn't really mind all that much either. Cole might be odd and overly nervous but he didn't really seem at all to be a bad person. There was something about the look Leroy gave him when he assigned them to be a pair that made Tyler think that it was an act of spite, which seemed odd to him because he couldn't recall ever having openly revealed his dislike for the teacher. Of course, an asshole needed little justification for being an ass to people so Leroy probably just did it because he was an asshole.

After having made his way into one of the pods and entering the simulation, appearing as always in the seemingly infinite white room, he made his way over to Cole.

"Hey Cole," he said, "since we're supposed to be a team and all I just wanted to ask, do you know anything about wilderness survival?"

(Cole)
Cole twitched away from Tyler when he walked over to him in the endless white room, but only slightly. Before Tyler even spoke, Cole began to ramble, looking around the room. "Is that what nothingness looks like? Can't be. White is a color, so it's something. Black is, too. Huh?" With the 'huh', he looked at Tyler and blinked. "Survival means nothing to the dead," He said, giving a short, kind of loopy chuckle. He then put both hands on his head and shook it back and forth. "I....I can't....remember. Too....Hard....To....Think......." He then lowered his hand and looked around the endless white room again, his gaze distant. "Wood, friction, smoke. Flames," He paused to give a dreamy smile,"Little sister laughs...." Suddenly his smile turned to a deep frown, and he seemed to become slightly more see through.

(Leroy)
Leroy simply waited for everyone to get in to the pods before climbing in himself. Once in the large, endless white room that everyone entered when first entering the simulation, Leroy just kind of stood there for a bit, seeming to be trying to figure out how it all worked before turning his attention to the students. "You can choose your teammates now. Once you have a teammate, go and stand together, away from the others so you don't get mixed up."
Times are looking grim these days~

Once inside the simulation, Sarah found herself surrounded by a white void, the very same white void she had seen many times before and had grown accustomed to. It was... Serene. Pleasant, even, more so because white it was entirely white, it was not bright, and thus did not hurt her eyes when she looked around.

Hearing Leroy's words, Sarah, who already had a teammate, decided to look around for him. He couldn't be far, after all, no one was ever really far from the others in this white room. And, sure enough, Jay was nearby, so she approached him with cautious steps, and when she was close enough, she tugged on his arm a bit.

"Hey, you're with me, remember?" She said before taking his hand and gently trying to lead him away from the others, like Leroy said. "Come."

Thomas was happy when he entered the sim, only to hear from Leroy that there would be no self defense, but there would be survival skills. He was crushed upon hearing this. His powers didn't do Jack shit if there was no civilization around, and it wasn't like he made an amazing amount of effort to live off the grid when he could be part of it. His face told his emotions pretty clearly. He didn't know who he could work with either, as he could only recognize a few people, and most were already finding partners.

Caitlin
Once in the simulation and told to look for a teammate, she wasn't sure who to choose now that Tyler had been taken, really. She scanned around, looking for a good teammate. The only other person that she really knew beyond, say, Kira was Thomas. But even then she didn't really know him all that well. It took her a moment to decide who she wanted to choose, and she decided to go with Kira, if Kira accepted of course.

"Hey, want to team up?" Caitlin asked Kira.

Kira
Kira had also been looking around for who to team up with. She thought of choosing Simon, but she wasn't entirely sure he was sane at the moment. Beyond him, everyone she knew was taken, except Caitlin. So when Caitlin came over and asked if she wanted to team up, she instantly accepted, figuring that was the best choice for a teammate as any.

"That sounds good to me" Kira said to Caitlin while doing that bright smile of hers. With that all cleared up, they headed out of the way.

Andrew
Andrew literally knew nobody as friends, and the people he did know didn't exactly think terribly fondly of him, which wasn't terribly surprising. Not that he cared to be liked. That wasn't really his plan. But when it came to team events, it would sorta be nice to have some sort of teammate or other. In the end, he just chose someone random, and that ended up being Thomas.

"Hey. You seem to be as clueless as I am when it comes to who to have as a teammate. So wanna team?" Andrew asked. He just hoped he didn't think badly of him, as well, because he was pretty sure he had seen Thomas talk to Cassie before, and it was like she had this protective squad around him at all times so he never knew who the hell could be her friend and know about what he had done earlier.

Jodelle
Jodelle really didn't know anyone. She had barely talked to anyone beyond Iden since she got here. There was no real good reason for it, she just didn't really talk to people all that much and just talked to Iden. Iden was pretty much her friend, anyway. When you had a friend around you at all times, it was less important for you to make actual friends with the people surrounding you every day.

Iden, who do you think I should team up with? Jodelle thought. Simon maybe? She added.

Elizabeth, after entering a simulation pod, was thrust into the white void for the very first time in her life. She was whelmed. She wasn't overwhelmed or underwhelmed. Just...whelmed. She'd pretty much assumed that this was more or less an intermediate point and that the actual simulation would begin shortly. She had, after all, watched The Matrix before. God damn that movie was kick ass.

When Leroy proclaimed that they could choose their teammates now, she questioned whether she was included in that for a split second. She concluded that it probably wasn't the case, so she did what any normal person would do.

"Hey, Elizabeth," she said to herself.

"Yes?"

"Want to be my partner?"

"Sure! How nice of you to ask."

Alex was slightly apprehensive, as anyone would be, especially after just being thrown into a white room. After being told to pick a teamate, Alex looked around, scanning the others for a partner.
"Anyone looking for a partner?" Alex said, to no one in particular. He was slightly confused, as everyone seemed to be ignoring his presence. The only person here who had actually acknowledged his existence was Leroy, and that was in a less than friendly manner.

Thomas was looking through the class for people to join him, sadly finding nobody, until that guy who had picked on Cassie came up to him and asked to be partners. Not seeing much else in the way of people, he sighed and said "Fine, what can you do when we are down there?" He asked. He wanted to be sure that this guy would be worth working with if he had to. He still sounded a bit peeved that he wouldnt be using any powers in this sim, but he knew he wanted to learn to function without them.
