Just as he was leaving the locker room Tyler spotted Josh entering the pool room, followed a few seconds later by Caitlin. Josh didn't notice her following him, judging by his question if anyone else had arrived yet when he got withing speaking distance. Caitlin responded before he had a chance to, poking fun at Josh in a good-natured way, and he couldn't help but let out a small chuckle. She stopped by his side and issued something that sounded very much like a challenge, asking who was the best swimmer. As she talked she started taking off her clothes to reveal that she was wearing a two-piece swimsuit underneath, which Tyler thought looked very good on her.

"That sounds like a challenge," he answered, a slight grin on his face and exaggerated machismo in his voice, "and the answer is obvious. I am." He then leaned closer to her, gently running his hand across her bare shoulder as he did so, and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "And you were right," he whispered in her ear, his grin taking on a more mischievous character, "I already like this idea with the pool. A lot." As he moved back to simply standing next to her he spotted Cassie approaching, and he flashed her a smile. It seemed a little odd to him that Cassie had come to the pool when she didn't look at all like she was about to take a swim, but he assumed that she must have her reasons.

"Hey Cassie," he responded cheerfully to her greeting, "how's it going?"

Caitlin let out a scoff mixed with a laugh at what Tyler said. "Oh really? We'll see about that" She joked back to him. By now, it was rather clear that before they even got to what their whole purpose of going to the pool was that they would be having a swimming challenge with each other to see who was the fastest, even if it was just between Tyler and Caitlin. When Tyler gently ran his hand across her bare shoulders, she felt a shiver inside her body, and a good one at that. She smiled at him and a slight giggle escaped her at what he whispered into her ear, but she didn't say anything in response, she just showed what she thought of it by smiling and giggling. A mischievous thought crossed her mind, and she glanced at Tyler and the pool, but then she got distracted by Cassie approaching, and she smiled at her.

"Hello Cassie. You look happy today" Caitlin said, but by the time the words slipped out of her mouth, she realized that to Cassie that might sound worse then she intended. Like she was implying that most of the time she looked unhappy, and that wasn't the impression she wanted to give to her, even if it may of been true.

Cassie
Cassie didn't seem one bit bothered by what Caitlin had said, and she smiled and nodded in response. She did the same to what Tyler said, smiling at him. "Good. I had a really great night last night. The best in a really long time" She told him, closing her eyes and smiling happily while thinking about last night. "And I had a good dream last night! And I woke up happy! It feels so good" She said, doing another happy, smooth spin on the tips of her toes. "I danced right in front of others for the first time ever last night, too. It was a slow process but it felt really good" She told them, happy to explain her story last night. Not often was she that talkative. Right now it seemed like she forgot she was even a shy person while talking about her dancing last night.

"I won't make you guys wait to get in the pool to hear my stories, though. Go enjoy yourselves" Cassie told them, giving them a smile and then glancing around the pool area for a good place to sit.

Josh jumped slightly, not expecting Caitlyn to be right behind him. Pondering her question, Josh shrugged.
"I never really was a fast swimmer," he said sheepishly. He then turned as Cassie spoke, and found himself smiling.
"Oh, hey Cassie," he said. Momentarily distracted, he didn't notice Abigale appear behind him.
"Idiot older brother about to go for a swim says what?" she quickly said. Josh managed to blurt a quick "Wha?" before Abigale tipped him over the edge of the pool and sent him into the water. Thrashing around for a moment, Josh managed to right himself and surfaced, to find Abigale chuckling softly. The young girl was wearing clothing similar to Josh, with the addition of a swimming shirt underneath the button shirt.
"Not cool, Abigale," Josh said, quickly unbuttoning his own shirt and throwing it out of the pool at her. Too distracted by her mirth, Abigale caught the shirt with her face. Yelping with shock, she threw it off to the side and grinned smugly at Josh.

Caitlin started to laugh when Abigale came up to Josh and pushed him into the pool. "Good job Abigale!" She said while laughing. Glancing at the pool, she smiled down at Josh when he resurfaced, and because of what happened, she was hoping that Tyler was distracted, too. If he was or wasn't, she started to get a mischievous grin again before speaking. "Now it's your turn Tyler!" She exclaimed, and then followed what she said by attempting to push Tyler into the pool. After everything Cassie had said to them, of course, so they had time to respond to what she said to them. Which what she had said made her smile brightly and congratulate Cassie.

Cassie
Cassie's watched Josh get pushed into the pool and she smiled, laughing a little as well. Then Caitlin did the same with Tyler, and she just started to laugh even more. Seeing as Josh got shoved in pretty quickly, she didn't really have time to respond to him saying hi to her. While everyone was slowly falling into the pool in various different ways, she went a little ways away from the pool and sat down on the ground, somewhat watching them all get in the pool and them in the pool.

Tyler was glad to hear that Cassie had a good time at the party, she usually seemed very shy so having danced in front of others was probably a big thing for her. He briefly considered asking her about what she and Hunter had been up to, holding hands at that table and everything, but he quickly realized that bringing that up in front of everyone might not be the best idea. "Good to hear," he replied instead, smiling at her. She seemed to think that she was somehow interfering with their plans to go for a swim, at least she said as much. Before he could tell her that she wasn't, Abigale showed up and pushed Josh into the pool. It was too funny to not laugh at.

Then Caitlin shouted that it was his turn and tried to push him into the pool as well. Since he was bigger than her he just braced himself for the push to stand against it, which would have been much harder if she hadn't warned him about what she was about to do.

"Our turn," he corrected her before grabbing on to her and falling backwards to pull her along into the pool.

Josh laughed when Caitlyn tried to shove Tyler in, and laughed harder when he countered, then yelped as Abigale dived in the middle of them and splashed him in the face.
"Ah! Jeez, sis," he said when she surfaced. Smiling, Abigale floated on her back, doing a lazy backstroke.
"I apologize for manipulating your center of gravity and causing you to lose balance and unwillingly enter into this body of water," she deadpanned.
'What," Josh said. Abigale chuckled.
"I'm sorry I shoved you into the pool," Abigale said, smiling. Josh sighed and splashed her.
"It's okay, I guess," he said. He then turned in the water to look at Cassie. After a few moments of fighting back various feelings, he disguised a sigh as taking a breathe before ducking under the water for a moment. Resurfacing, he shook his hair off his face. Abigale, meanwhile, meandered around the pool.
"I'm glad you've managed to make some friends, Joshua. It was... Troubling, seeing you so lonely," she said. She then tilted her head to look at Cassie. "Of course, friends can't fill one hole in your heart, can they?" Josh jerked around to glare at Abigale, his mood violently and visibly fouled.
"And what would you know about feelings, Abigale?" he shot back, small wisps of steam rising from his hair. Abigale righted herself, her features hardening.
"I was attacked last night, brother. Lilith tried to murder me. A part of my own mind. It took me realizing what a fucking horrible person I am, and how my actions have effectively killed any chance of me having a normal life, for her to disappear. I then spent the rest of the night coming to grips with the emotions Lilith had been repressing. Like concern, and love. I'm concerned about you, brother," she said, swimming up to him. She then darted forward and hugged him. "You're so lonely, just like me. Unlike me, you don't deserve it." Josh's face relaxed as she spoke, before finally Josh gave in and returned the hug.
"Stop living for memories, brother. You'll miss the world around you," Abigale said, letting him go. Josh chuckled.
"You sound like Goltia," he said. Abigale's turn to chuckle.
"Well, I am her sister," she replied. Josh rolled his eyes and laid on his back, done talking for the moment. Satisfied, Abigale went back to her backstroke.

Goltia

Goltia nodded.
"Oh yeah, I know how they work. We use them on our military ships. We even have a ship built around one. We call them Magnetic Accelerator Cannons," Goltia rambled, stretching herself out and hopping on the spot.

Throughout breakfast, the lack of discussion and debate was apparent. People at in silence, unable to figure out what was conversable. The sounds of high-pitched rings filled ears as the drudgery continued. This awkward breakfast between the white-walls of the cafeteria finally ended when Cassie announced that she intended a visit to the pool after breakfast ended.

"Does anybody want to join her going swimming, because I could go for a swim," Makoto asked the two after Cassie left. Bramwell was unceasingly silent. Sakura, however, had reacted in a way that lacked another meaning as an absence of reaction. Sakura visibly tensed-up as Makoto proposed that idea. After her eyes darted across the room for a short time, Sakura spoke.

"I, I don't think, you know I should not do that," Sakura answered, her reply paced with blatant attempts to word it in a sufficient manner. Makoto saw nothing in her remarks, so she left the two for her room. Sakura's muscles relaxed not as Makoto left her sight, Bramwell still there as he got a cup of hot chocolate. "So, how did you make those flowers anyway? Where did you learn how to make them?" Sakura asked as Bramwell started the walk back to his dorm-room, Sakura alongside him. Sakura namely talked at Bramwell since he spoke not a word. It was an arrangement that was better for the two as they continued. Once they entered that room, Bramwell went for the construction paper as Sakura observed the creation of one of the paper flowers, quieted by focus.

---

Makoto was in a quieter circumstance. After preparations were made, she exited the room carrying an industrial green bag. As she went down the perpetually white halls filled with sterile white light and metallic floors, Makoto's thoughts drifted across subjects. She kept herself distracted from the abnormality for a while and just swim. When she entered the females' locker rooms, she was surprised and slightly insulted by the lockers. The usage of finger-print was potentially an insult at those who lost keys easily and seemed to be a needless expense done to make it look like administration was not taking up too much of the donations and call it "security expenses". She never used the lockers before, and took a minute to figure out whether they ran on systems that was used in other pools. After that short hassle was dealt with, she exited the locker room in a wetsuit. It was full suit, primarily black with red highlights. She also had black special goggles over her eyes. Whatever the reason for the odd choice of swimwear, she looked as if she was about to gear-up for a dive.

There was a disonnance to her in that the hall was not that high, constrained by the space-station's need to keep a floor-plan that did not allow high-dives. The dissonance of the large pool and relatively low ceiling was odd for her to look-at She noticed people already in the pool and a large amount of bubbles from multiple people's forced entries into the pool. The humor was lost on her as the late arrival. She noticed Cassie not in the pool and in clothes not-normal for somebody with intents of swimming. She thus walked up to Cassie, hatless and in a stride.

"Cassie, I thought people who go to pools have an intent to swim or damage their skin. Did you forget your swimsuit on Earth?" asked Makoto as she walked up to Cassie. There was something odd in a hatless Makoto stepped before Cassie amid the sounds of horseplay and water-displacement. The three horizontal stripes white stripes in the left side hair were gone, though Cassie already knew that.

Caitlin decided that she should of just shoved him in instead of saying anything, because he managed to have enough time to resist being shoved into the pool, to her disappointment. As she was about ready to state her disappointment, he said "Our turn", and for a moment she was confused when it hit her what he meant around the same time that he grabbed and fell back into the pool. She let out what appeared to be a squeak of surprise, and splashed into the pool with Tyler. A little bit later she came back up to the surface and pushed a bunch of her hair out of her face, and she started to laugh, turning to Tyler.

"You little brat!" She jokingly said, and she proceeded to start splashing Tyler.

Cassie
Cassie started laughing and giggling slightly when Tyler managed to avoid getting pushed into the pool, and then he proceeded to pull himself and her in the pool at the same time. When people did that she was always worried they would fall and injure themselves on the side of the pool or something, so she was always a bit tense about it at first until she would relax when she realized nobody would get hurt.

From then, Cassie sat on the ground of the pool, near the wall, watching them. She noticed Abigale and Josh talking to each other about something, but she had no idea what it was. She had also noticed that Josh had been looking her way, and glancing at her, along with Abigale at one point, so she was a bit curious what exactly they were talking about. Also a bit nervous about it, because she had come to get uncomfortable when boys glanced her way, especially for too long. Not enough to be overly concerned, though, and she smiled faintly to herself when Abigale hugged Josh and Josh hugged her back. Whatever the conversation was, she had this feeling that it was a bit upsetting because the hug seemed like more of the type that was to comfort each other.

Then she got distracted when Makoto arrived and spoke to her. "Not technically" She said to the first part of what she said, and then continued after she finished. "I don't own a swimsuit" She told her simply, not delving into the reasons why she didn't. Especially since she was from a small island nation that was nice and green, so you would think that living so close to the beach at almost all times that she would have a swimsuit, since probably 90% of the population or more did.

Tyler laughed happily when Caitlin started splashing him with water, returning fire with a few small splashes of his own. "You're smaller than me, and you had it coming," he teased her with a big grin on his face, "you started it." After a few moments of splashing he dove under the surface, his head popping up above the water right next to her a couple of seconds later. The look on his face changed a bit into something that was quite hard to read. "Hi there," he said, using his best flirtatious voice. For a moment it looked like he was about to close the distance between them fully, but then he suddenly and sneakily splashed her with water from the side instead. He then quickly backstroked away from her to avoid the worst of any watery retribution.

"Come on," he laughed as he swam, "you wanted to challenge me at swimming. So let's get to it."

So, after having stared at Jay awkwardly for a while, Sarah finally did something of note. That is to say, she spoke. "...So now that we know we're on the mission, is there anything you want to do today? I think we have the day off." She asked him.

"Yeah, I admit, I did have it coming" She said, laughing slightly. When he went under water, she had a bad feeling about it. She was trying to watch for him in the water, to make sure he didn't like, grab her legs and flip her into the water. Of course she'd find it hilarious, but still. Instead he popped up right next to her, and she found herself starting to smile in a way that indicated that just having him near her made her happy. "Hi" She said happily, a bright smile on her expression when looking at him. For a moment she thought he was going to kiss her again, and then suddenly she was splashed and she gasped in surprise at the sudden soaking. "Oh, I will get you for that!" She exclaimed in fake, playful annoyance, and swam after him.

Caitlin casually swam towards him after what he said, and gave a quick nod. "Let's head to one end of the pool so we can try and race across the pool" She told him, swimming towards the edge to get in position to kick off the wall and swim to the other side.

"Heh. Well, the rest of the ship is dedicated to the reactor powering the thing, as well as other stuff," she said. She then jumped about 5 feet into the air when she heard another voice.
"Not just the reactor. Engines, point defense systems, CIC, quarters for crew, ammo stores, FTL drives, all that jazz," Markus said, walking into the room. Landing back down on the ground, Goltia turned and stared fearfully at her older brother.
"H-how?" she said. Markus coughed and pointed at a nearby camera. Goltia sighed.
"Shoulda known. Well, no point in denying it. Yes, he knows. I let it slip out," she explained.
"Like when you let slip you failed maths?" Markus asked. Goltia nodded, and Markus sighed.
"Sometimes, I wish you were like Josh and knew when to stop talking. Hi kid, I'm Markus, Goltia's eldest brother," Markus said, extending his artificial arm.

Josh and Abigale

Abigale watched Tyler and Caitlyn's interaction with some amount of interest. .
"Why are you staring at the lovebirds?" Josh deadpanned, a look of disapproval on his face.
"I'm trying to at least pretend I can interact with people my own age. Forgive me for trying to learn how one goes about that," she replied. Then, the other two started getting ready for a race, and Josh and Abigale swam out of their way.
"This should be interesting," Josh said. Abigale nodded, dragging herself up to sit on the edge of the pool.

"I thought you live, well, used to live on an island nation? Was the water just too cold for anything other than a drysuit?" Makoto said as her foot tested the water before she took a seat on the side of the pool with her feet submerged. Makoto didn't even feign eye contact by at least having her head face the general direction of the person she talked to as her eyes focused on the water. Makoto's eyes fixated on the pool, not even without a passing glance toward the sunloungers she presumed Cassie was located. Makoto wore no glasses despite myopia. Instead, she wore goggles that were on when she exited the locker room. Makoto was not visibly impaired, and Makoto provided no explanation despite the oddity.

Cassie forgot that Makoto knew where she used to live, so she decided that it was time for her to probably just admit it. Well, at least part of her reasoning. She didn't need to mention the fact that the idea of being in a bathing suit freaked her out and gave her anxiety problems, even though she had a feeling it would come up at some point anyway.

"I.....I can't swim" Cassie admitted to Makoto, glancing at the ground. When Makoto went to go put her feet into the water, she decided she might as well do the same and started to take her shoes and socks off, putting them in a pile next to each other. She came up next to Makoto and sat down, but didn't instantly put her feet into the pool. But she started to slowly do that, and she let out a gasp when the water touched her feet. It wasn't particularly that cold, but she still wasn't used to regularly getting into water like this, so it felt cold to her.

After she put her feet into the water, she pulled them back out, and rolled up the bottom of her jeans a little to avoid getting them overly wet, and put her feet back into the pool, fully this time.

Tyler nodded and swam along with Caitlin when she suggested they head to one end of the pool to start their race. Though he had talked very confidently about his swimming skill he knew that he wasn't a terribly good swimmer. He hadn't had very much time to practice swimming when he was trapped in the hellhole, after all. Getting around in the water was no problem, but doing it fast was another thing altogether. Still, he was going to give it his best shot and see what happened. If he lost he could just pretend he did it on purpose, even if that particular lie would probably be very easy to see through.

"Alright," he said to Caitlin when they had reached the end of the pool, "I'm ready when you are. I'll let you handle the countdown."

"So, your nation didn't have swim classes as part of the curriculum? Neither does any North American nation, though I would think that is a useful skill for a planet that is, I think is seventy-something-percent water or some other number. What has been stopping you? Hydrophobia? Little access to suitable bodies of water or pools? Poseidon killed your par, uh, human macguffin to start you on your quest for revenge," Makoto asked as she backpedaled to a place that involved not Cassie's parents. She, with awkward feelings she contemplated slipping into the pool and submerging to avoid embarrassment before she realized it drew only more attention. "Have you considered taking swimming lessons? I would think somebody in the staff would run swimming lessons," Makoto questioned as her fingers gesticulated one at a time in a succession that went left-to-right across both hands.

Caitlin didn't particularly think that she was exactly the greatest swimmer, either. She had swam a lot but not really in a way to make herself go the fastest possible, so she had a feeling that she would lose the swimming competition. But she figured it was worth a try, to see how fast she could actually get herself to go before either giving out or getting to the other side of the pool.

"Okay" Caitlin said to Tyler when they were at the other side of the pool. She grabbed onto the edge of the pool, and put her feet against the wall of the pool for the start of her kick-off. She glanced to make sure Tyler was in position, and then began.

"3...2...1...GO!" Caitlin shouted, pushing off the side of the pool and paddling as fast as she could across the pool in a sidestroke, because she didn't exactly know what the fastest swimming technique was. With her first kickoff it was more along the lines of a breastroke until she lost momentum from the kick and came up to the surface, to sidestroke across the rest of the pool from then on as fast as she could get herself to.

Cassie
Cassie had a feeling that she would have to eventually admit that the idea of being in a bathing suit was something that caused her problems, because Makoto dug into the details too much for her to avoid the inevitable, really. "Even if they did I couldn't afford it" She told her, not mentioning the fact that her father would probably never of let her do anything anyway, beyond schoolwork and being his little personal slave. Then she asked if it was hydrophobia, and she gave a shrug, guessing that could be part of it. When it seemed like she almost mentioned something about asking her if her parents died in a boating accident, she bit her lip and looked away for a moment, but quickly snapped out of it. She thought of avoiding telling her exactly why she didn't go swimming again, but decided that Makoto would probably find out eventually and it was better not to drag it on.

"No, I haven't" Cassie told Makoto, and after a bit of a pause, decided to just tell her. "Okay, here, look....." She said quietly. "I've been trying to dodge the actual main reason why I don't swim, because I know you guys might think it is silly......" She said quietly, pausing for a moment again. "The idea of being in a bathing suit of any type scares me. It feels too.....exposed. I prefer to be covered up" She told her. Considering the only time Makoto had ever seen her in a T-Shirt she looked rather uncomfortable, she could probably understand her reasoning quite well. "I just don't like it" She told her. Still, even when she told more of the truth, it wasn't the full truth, and she still avoided going into the details of why she felt that way or what made her this way.

"You know; you could ask Bramwell about that. If he somehow has access to his family savings and is willing to use over a thousand a month for your housing, I don't think a swimsuit is out of the question," Makoto answered rather quickly, relieved to be-off the topic of accidental references to topics that Cassie liked not. As she listened to Cassie's exposition, she understood Cassie's reasoning. "Cassie, what would you think if I got you a wetsuit similar to mine?" Makoto inquired as a hand pointed at her swimwear. The wetsuit covered everything from the head, hands, and feet. The full suit, primary black with some red highlights, was suggested for reasons obvious to Makoto.

"Thomas Steele, nice to meet you." he said meeting his, not noticeably startled by the bionic arm. He then kept working on testing the armor plates. The technopath began moving the rifle to the range, and test firing it remotely, a massive booming sound going off as the rifle fired. He continued "Kinda assumed I was late in knowing, and everyone else already did, won't tell anyone if you don't want." He kept multitasking, making the finishing touches on his repairs.

Since Cassie ended up kind of explaining her reasoning for not wearing a "Traditional bathing suit", she didn't really feel the need to respond to the first think Makoto did since she probably technically explained her reasoning right after that was said. Then Makoto, after she gave her reasoning, offered to get her a wetsuit, and she had to think about that for a moment. Her downside with that was that as far as she was aware, wetsuits were commonly skin-tight, and she wasn't sure how comfortable that was and she knew skin tight things could be considered "Sexy", which bothered her, but she didn't find it enough of a reason not to consider it and she didn't find it nearly as bad as having skin she didn't want exposed exposed.

"I could do fine with that" Cassie said, smiling faintly.

Wilson had quickly put away his stuff and made his way to his room. He changed quickly, but before he was able to leave his head was smashed with an idea that he just couldn't shake off so he was forced by he need to document and think on it further. The idea was more of a personal challenge that he couldn't pull off personally. He wanted to build a spaceplane that was a heavy lifter. The shuttle that transported the students didn't have the cargo space to carry major loads and it didn't seem like it also had upward mobility in capability modification. 'I will have to mediate on this later, but this could be a great thing to work on' Wilson thought to himself as he ran to pool with his towel and his swim trunks. When he arrived at the pool he was visibly excited. He quickly found a spot for his stuff which he set down. With an excited yell he dived into the pool and was instantly surrounded by the relaxing water. After coming up for air he looked around and saw Catlin and Tyler racing deciding to not get involved he just decided to watch.

He then started swimming in a front crawl, which he remembered as being one of the fastest ways to swim. It was quite tiring though, especially since he didn't have a good grasp of the technique and tried to compensate by using more force, and about halfway across the pool he started slowing down because he couldn't keep up his initial speed for long. By the time he reached the other side he was breathing hard, but he smiled happily when he saw that he had reached it a few seconds before Caitlin.

"Told you I would win," he boasted jokingly between breaths when she joined him at the edge of the pool. "Let's not do that again though."

"Damn" Caitlin said breathlessly when she reached the other side of the pool and heard what Tyler said. "I was so close, too" She said, looking disappointed in an overly exaggerated way. She felt pretty breathless, too, but maybe not as much as he was. "I agree. I'm not a strong enough swimmer to do that repeatedly without making myself pass out and drown in the swimming pool. I'm pretty sure none of us want that" She said, smiling slightly.

"Nice of you to join us, Wilson!" Caitlin shouted over to him from across the pool. "Now I think it is time we actually start doing the main reason we came to the pool, instead of screwing around. Which was to play ball or something, right?" She said to Tyler, lowering her voice again.

"That is good. We can talk about technical details later. I just would like to know if you have any color preferences?" Makoto responded, a grin on her face. She held back a smile, content with it. For whatever reason, she kept her emotions to herself. Even so, there was a pleasant disposition to how she talked at the time. Despite her want, she didn't go into the water. For Makoto, it was a temptation that Dr. Moreau explicitly told her to avoid. The constant attention paid to the splint It also gave her justification to look in Cassie's direction less-often, which was also nice since it meant less eye-contact.
