"Just using the gift the universe gifted me," she said. Then, she stayed silent as Thomas awoke and the doctor gave him a once over. Looking up once more when she was referred to, she gave a kind smile.
"My parents always said that it was a waste that I wasn't a doctor. I always replied that I'm simply not focused enough for it," she said, standing a placing a hand on Thomas' shoulder gently. Her hand glowed for a moment, and she gave a sigh of relief as her factor returned to her. Looking at Thomas, she called forth a sliver of crystal and began flickign it between her fingers.
"Now, I'm sure that these good people will ask anyway, and I am no doubt curious myself. Why did your weapon explode? From what I've seen, you have impeccable control over your abilities, so I'm guessing something unexpected happened," she said softly.

Thomas tried to keep a straight face when she pressed him on why his weapon exploded. "Well, this wouldn't be the first time that something like that happened, though luckily the last few times, it missed me." he paused for a second on how to phrase what he'd say next. "I don't know what happened, or what caused it, but that holloween party did something weird to me. I woke up this morning and my eyes changed color. I thought it was just something I was allergic to, but then I shot freaking lightning out of my hand." he said in a rush. He then took a couple breaths and then added "Thank you very much for the help, I was worried that there would be some issues."

"Well, that's... New," Magenta said, chewing her lip in thought. "I wish Uncle Jacob was here, he would know what was up with you. Unfortunately, he isn't, and I don't have the ability to detect other's abilities, so I can safely say that I'm stumped. Oh, and you're very much welcome." Smiling, she turned to the doctor.
"If there's nothing else, I'll be going about my day," she said, still smiling.

"Oh gods, remember when all of us got sick when we were like 10?" Josh said, turning to Goltia and Grace. Grace nodded, while Goltia's face contorted in disgust.
"I remember the medicine tasting like someone had put ivy leaves in a bender with peroxide," she said, taking another sip of her coffee. Grace giggled softly.
"And I remember your mum having to hold you down to get you to take it," she said. Goltia groaned and focused on her food as both Josh and Grace chuckled. Goltia then sat up, looking at Josh, a mildly terrified look on her face.
"What? What? Are you actually dying?" he said, looking at her. Goltia shook her head.
"No. The painkillers are working," she said softly. The two then looked over their shoulders at Abigale, who seemed to be reading something on a tablet she had pulled from her pocket as she slowly ate. The Twins then looked back at each other and gulped.
"This is weird," Josh said.
"We don't do weird," Goltia finished.
"And yet, you two are the weirdest thing here, next to me," Grace chimed in, before stealing a piece of toast from Gotlia's plate while the female twin was distracted.

"I think the worst thing that ever happened to me in my life was getting majorly sick once. It was horrid" Caitlin chimed in at one point, but mostly listening to them all chat and being amused by what they were talking about and their stories. She loved hearing peoples stories Stories were one of those things she could sit down for hours and just listen to. Especially stories from old wise folk, who were so old and were natural storytellers that they literally had hundreds of stories on the top of their mind to tell you. She had a moment like that once, not only with some random awesome neighbor of hers but with her our grandpa, and they were some of the best moments she could remember.

She remained silent for a little while before speaking again. "Weird is good when it is the right kind of weird" She said simply

Josh and Goltia turned to each other, before they both grinned an playful, mischievous grin. Grace recognized the grin immediately and groaned.
"Oh here we go," she said, as the Twins both flipped the hoods of their jackets up. Then, they started speaking at the same time, in a monotone voice.
"Are you saying that' we're weird? That would be bad. Very very bad," they said, their hoods covering their faces as they spoke. Grace resisted the urge to smash her forehead against the table.
"Stop it, you two. The last time you did this, you got us thrown out of that cafe," she said.
"That waitress was a bitch," the Twins said, not changing from their monotone. Groaning, Grace chomped down on her toast.
"The shrink is right. You two need to get away from each other," she said.

Thomas said another thank you, then turned to the doctor "Will I need to stay at all, or could I head back to the commons, seeing as everything seems fixed up?" His thoughts then began roaming again as they sometimes did. He would need to repair his armor and weapon, which would take time, though not too long as he had the materials in his room. Then probably keep on a lower key then he had hoped, maybe to try ad control this new power.

The doctor had listened to the exchange between Thomas and Magenta. Thomas having gained a new power recently interested him, and it would have to be reported to the headmaster.

"I don't think we'll need any more help here," he said to Magenta when she asked if she could do anything else, "thank you again for your help."

"Well, there seems to be nothing wrong with you anymore," he answered when Thomas asked if he had to stay, "so you are free to leave. I think it would be for the best if we schedule a complete physical checkup within the next few days though, because of this new power you say you've developed. It is not uncommon for additional powers to arise a little later than the initially developed one, and I think it would be prudent to make sure that everything is as it should be. Also, I would recommend that you exercise great caution when interacting with any electronics until you get a grip on this new power of yours, or else I fear that you might be coming back here for another patch-up sooner rather than later."

Tyler
Tyler looked up from his ice when he heard Caitlin share a story about having been really sick once, which she described as the worst thing to ever happen to her. He wished that something like that was the worst thing to ever happen to him, rather than the really horrid avalanche of crap that had been most of his life. At least things were starting to look quite good in his present and future.

The conversation then turned to good and bad kinds of weirdness, which apparently inspired Josh and his sister to start acting really weird. The white-haired girl didn't seem to appreciate their shenanigans at all. The way they spoke in almost perfect unison did strike Tyler as somewhat weird, because it didn't seem like something any sane person would practice to get so good at.

"Are you guys mentally linked or something?" he asked the two, "that way you talk at the same time just seems really strange..."

Thomas replied quickly to the doctor, "Uhhhh... Sure, how about two days from now?" he kept considering his condition and decided to ask, "Is there any partial power surpression system I could use? I'd like to keep my abilities, but this could be dangerous." He then stood up, and tapped his shoulder with his left hand, feeling exactly as if nothing had ever happened.

Caitlin couldn't help but laugh at the two when they started being...weird, when she talked about the different ways people could be weird. "Yes, I guess I am calling you two weird, and now it fits even more" She said while smiling at them. To what Grace said she did a fake pouting face. "Oh come on, they're entertaining!" She said, her pout quickly turning to a grin. Beyond that she couldn't think of anything to say and just started to laugh again at the whole thing.

"The day after tomorrow works fine," the doctor replied to Thomas' question about when he should come. "I'll put you down for an appointment at eleven AM." With a few quick keystrokes he created an appointment on his PDA before looking back at Thomas to listen to his next question. While the idea of a partial power suppressor was an interesting one it didn't seem feasible without performing invasive and unnecessary surgery to attach such a device to the brain or central nervous system, something that no doctor on the station would even dream of doing.

"I'm afraid that sort of thing doesn't exist, at least not as far as I know. If you are worried that your new power is dangerous you might want to wear a personal suppressor until you feel more confident in your ability to keep it under control."

Josh and Goltia both wore large grins as they flicked their hoods back. Looking at Tyler, they started speaking.
"I dunno Tyler / What do you think? / It might be possible / considering that we can do stuff like this / and talk to each other without speaking / and yes, we do use it to cheat on tests," the two said. Grace slapped Goltia on the arm, and they both flinched.
"You promised that you wouldn't do that!" she fumed. The Twins pointed at each other.
"It was his/her idea," they both said. Grace sighed.
"Yes, you two are very entertaining, and I love you both dearly, but it gives me a headache when you speak like that," she said, rubbing her forehead.

Caitlin laughed some more and shook her head, but not in a bad way at the twins response to Tyler's question. They really were weird and entertaining, and she loved that, even if it seemed to bother Grace and give her an apparent headache. She smiled brightly some more, when a thought hit her and she turned to Tyler to ask him something.

"Do you have a cellphone, Tyler? If so I don't believe I ever got your number" Caitlin said, pulling out her cellphone that she apparently put in her pocket at some point when waking up, even if she had little real reason to be using it on the Space Station most of the time, with all of her friends always being near her and all. It was good for talking to her parents and whatnot, but she could just do that in her room later, not somewhere random around the school.

Thomas visibly slouched when he heard that there was no such thing as a partial surpressor. Maybe I could try reverse engineering one later he thought as he considered his choice. On the up side, the new power wouldn't bug him as much but on the down side he couldn't work with technology in one of the few places where data wasn't always nagging at his mind. He decided to ask "I suppose I could use a surpressor for now, might be nice to try out."

Tyler chuckled when the twins demonstrated their ability to speak as one, thinking that it was a rather neat ability to have. It seemed like it would get old fast though, having another person's thoughts sometimes get into your head. They probably didn't feel that way because it seemed like they'd always been like that and they didn't know anything else, but if that happened to him he would probably go off the deep end in a matter of days. His mind was the one thing he didn't feel comfortable sharing with anyone under any circumstances. Even if it could be used to cheat on tests.

"That sounds like a 'yes' to me," he said, nodding.

Caitlin then turned to him to ask if he had a cell phone. He didn't have one and he never had had one, for obvious reasons. Now that he had the money to get one thanks to the missions he had been on, he might try to buy one he decided.

"I don't have one," he answered with a shrug, "but now that you mention it I think I'll have to buy one because all the cool kids have them. And you'll be the first to get my number."

The doctor nodded when Thomas agreed to try using a suppressor. "Alright, wait right here and I'll go dig one out," he said before hurrying out the door.

A few minutes later he returned with a small metal box in his hand. "Here it is," he said as he placed the box on a counter and opened it. Inside the box was was a rather sleek metallic device with a few buttons and some straps. "You attach it to your back, right above your spine," he explained, "it works most reliably when it is in direct contact with your skin so I would recommend that you wear it under your clothes." With deft hands he removed the device from its packaging and held it out for Thomas to take. "Here, try it on," he suggested, "just put your arms through these loops and then fasten the adjustable strap around your waist."

Professor Darkstar decided to go to the Headmasters Office to ask about some things. He rode the elevator the level that the Office was on and stepped out. He strode down the hall until he reached the door to the Office. Darkstar took a deep breath and then knocked on the door.

Headmaster Anderson had just finished composing a message to Jenkins about the student that had troubled Cole Riker, when someone knocked at his door once again. There were more people than usual who wanted to speak with him that morning, it seemed. When he opened the door he came face to face with Professor Darkstar, a man he had only hired due to his professional credentials.

"Professor Darkstar," he greeted the man, perfectly cordially, "what can I do for you?"

Anderson took the offered notepad and glanced at it, finding it just as concerning as Darkstar claimed to. There was no telling if the man was sincere in his concern for Cole Riker, considering his strange aversion to the morality that most of society held as evident.

"Yes, I agree, this is cause for concern," he said, "Mister Riker evidently needs some help to get his mind in order. I will make sure to bring this to Doctor Eriksson's attention, it will probably be very helpful in his sessions with Riker." He briefly glanced at the notepad again before speaking once more. "Was there anything else you wished to discuss?"

"Ahh, okay" Caitlin said, putting her cellphone back into her pocket. She had a joking plan to do if she got his cell number, but since he didn't have one currently it didn't really work. She'd just wait to do her little idea later. Seeing as they saw each other daily, it wasn't like they really needed to use their cellphones that often. But it would still be nice to have his number. She let out a laugh. "Not technically. I think quite a lot of assholes have cellphones" She joked, and she gave him a smile. "I better be" She joked again.

Thomas peered into the device to try and determine its inner workings for future expiriments, and then took the surpressor. He glared at it, but then did as the doctor said, wrapping the strap at his waist and turning it on mentally.

This contact with the machine didn't last, as thomas felt a new feeling wash over him. All the data from various machines stopped buzzing in his ears and mind, and he couldn't see the workings of the small machine anymore. He couldn't see it, but his eyes changed back to the gray color they usually were. The stored energy wasn't discharged, and Thomas could feel the store of electricity giving him renewed energy. He the wondered aloud "Could I turn this on or off easily without taking it off? May want to have my powers sometimes."

Anderson didn't know the student Professor Darkstar mentioned. If he had been the one to threaten Riker then perhaps measures needed to be taken to keep him in line. And if he really was mentally disturbed then he would obviously have to speak with Eriksson, though Anderson had no idea why Darkstar also thought he should speak to the student since he wasn't trained to handle such things.

"I will look into it," he said simply, feeling no need to elaborate. "Was that all, Professor?"

"There's a button on the left side of the device, press it down for two seconds to turn the suppression on or off," the doctor explained when Thomas asked if the device could be turned on and off easily.

"Make sure you adjust the straps so you feel comfortable," he then advised, "since you'll want to wear it most of the time until you get better control of this new power of yours. If you don't like it or if it doesn't work out for you just come back and we'll figure something else out."

Tyler
Tyler chuckled at Caitlin's jokes while setting up an ice cube to try the exercise again, though his focus was more on her than the cube. "Well, I've heard that everyone has smartphones now, and those seem kind of cool," he said while starting to move his hand in a cutting motion, "so I just need to figure out which one to get." The ice was slowly starting to split down the middle. "I don't want to spend too much money on it, you know? But at the same time I have to have one that is better than everyone else's so I can show off with it." When he glanced down he noticed that the ice cube had been split cleanly in half, and he looked very puzzled.

"Well look at that," he mumbled to himself, clearly surprised by his accomplishment.

Goltia gave another chuckle, then put an arm around Grace and pulled her close. Grace huffed and focused on eating her toast.
"Awww, come on. We only ever cheated once, if that helps," Goltia said. Grace grumbled, but pressed closer against Goltia and grabbed the hand resting on her shoulder with her own. Smiling happily, Goltia picked at the remains of her food. Josh, meanwhile, was left to watch them with a somewhat conflicted look on his face. Sighing, he looked over his shoulder at Abigale, who was still reading something on her tablet with great interest. Turning back, he watched Tyler cut an ice cube on half.
"Nice," he commented, looking at the orb of energy that was hovering in front of him. After staring at it for a few moments, he crushed it from existence between his hands and sighed.
"I wish I had fine control... It's like trying to do everything when your only tools are a piece of sheet metal and explosive materials," he said softly.

Darkstar had to reveal Alexander. "Another thing. I believe that a new student of ours is rather disturbed in the mind. Insane even. This would be Mister Alexander Kaizer. He would be the new student who walks around with the wolf made of shadows. I believe he needs a few sessions with a therapist and that you might speak to him. Because I believe he is the one who threatened Mister Riker."

Darkstar shook his head. "Well sir I actually had a question about my duties as a teacher. On what causes would I have to be given to give a student permission to go to a certain area such as the Hanger and such?"

Thomas listened carefully to what the doctor said and smiled, saying "Thanks doc, I'll see you in a couple days." he then began to walk out, feeling as if he was on a bit of a sugar buzz. His stomach didn't agree. He hadn't really eaten much earlier, and the work out he did was stressful, not to mention the near death expirience. He decided to walk to the cafeteria, thankful he didn't have to electrocute someone. Nobody really had saw him earlier, and so they hadn't noticed the change in eyes or the explosion, and Thomas hoped that exploding was normal enough around here to not draw attention.

He walked in, grabbing some more food and going over to take a seat nearby some of the other students he recognized: Goltia, Tyler, and Caitlyn.

Wilson had been watching Tyler train when he got his first cube. He quickly responded.

"Good job! Now try to do that all in one big strike and do it 3 times on 3 cubes. Also every morning I want you to break at least one to keep your skills up" Wilson finished instructing tyler before he finished eating all the food on his plate. Taking a big sip of his water he returned to the table conversation.
