While she answered his question, Greg decided to "show off" a bit. After all, he thought, being able to sling incandescent plasma around has to impress chicks, even superpowered ones.
So, after momentarily concentrating, Greg created a ring of plasma which he began to nonchalantly twirl around his finger.

So, after momentarily concentrating, Greg created a ring of plasma which he began to nonchalantly twirl around his finger.
Mary smiled at Greg, finding his transparent attempt to show off to be somewhat silly in an endearing sort of way. When you spent so much time around other superhumans superpowers became less impressive, though she still found it cute that he tried. It never ceased to amuse her how quickly she could wrap guys around her finger, just a simple smile and they started trying to impress her, showing off to win her affections.
"Well," she said, "this is a school, so we have classes. All kinds of classes, some of them are really fun. They even have a sort of computer that creates virtual reality simulations, that's the best class I think. I don't know which class you're in though," she said, looking thoughtful for a moment before her smile returned, "maybe we'll be classmates, that would be fun." She looked at the glowing ring he was playing with, "if I could get a look at your schedule I could help you get where you need to go."
Michael Eriksson
Once everything was prepared Michael sent out a notice over the PA system: "Attention mission team, assemble in hangar bay 1 immediately."
In the corridor outside the hangar bays several guards were assembled to ensure that all students went the right way, though two of them seemed more concerned with simply guarding the locked doors leading to hangar bay 2.

Korvos wrote:"Schedule?" then it dawned on Greg. "Crap... I might have left it in my room. Wait, it's in my pocket." He pulled out a somewhat crumpled folded piece of paper from a pocket and unfolded it and handed it to her. "I literally have no idea what I'm supposed to do, so that would be really great." Greg noticed that she glanced at the ring. "Oh, yeah, that's my power. I can create plasma. Not to sound like a 5 year old, I'm pretty much new to this superpower schtick, but what's yours?"

Mary smiled at him, and then rose a few inches off the floor. "I can fly," she said, looking down at him, "and don't worry, everyone goes around asking that when they first arrive. It's like saying hello around here." She landed again and looked at his schedule. "Oh," she said, looking a little disappointed, "you're in that class." After looking at the paper for a few more moments she handed it back, "I'm sorry to say that most people in your class are assholes, they all seem to think that the world revolves around them. Sometimes I think they don't even realize that the rest of us exist." She smiled again, "at least you seem okay, but you'll want to hurry. Your first class begins in a few minutes, and it's with Moyle. She's a total bitch, and she's a bit of a psycho as well, being late isn't a way to get on her good side."
"Come on," she said, starting to walk towards the stairs, "I'll show you the way."

Korvos wrote:Greg and Mary arrived at Ms. Moyle's room, and much to Greg's relief, she wasn't there. "Thanks for the directions, Mary. I definitely would be screwed without your help." he said, and after she started walking away after saying goodbye, he suddenly realized he hadn't asked her which dorm she was in. He quickly blurted down the corridor as she walked away "So I'll see you around the Hero dorms? Vigilante?"

"Mister Kerr," a female voice said, "please report to the Headmaster's office at your earliest convenience."

The last few days, she'd considered trying to get him to stay, but she had a feeling he wouldn't. He seemed determined to leave and do - whatever it was, he hadn't bothered letting her know. Yet another thing that annoyed her, but also worried her. "I don't want you to go," she said softly, but at that moment the PA started talking. She sighed and let go.

"Earliest convenience" mean whatever he wanted it to now. What would Anderson do if he turned up late? Sack him?
Eventually he knocked upon Anderson's door, showered and dressed casually in jeans and a hoody. The collar of his fireproof suit was just visible poking through the neckline of the hoody.
