Burton frowned at Declan's back. Clearly his levity wasn't anchored by any sort of seriousness given the way he blew off The Gauntlet. However running a simulated onslaught of various threats ranging from beserk humans to powerful supers and everything inbetween with simulator safeties set to the minimum tolerated interference limits generally grounded that in a hurry.Procastitania wrote:
Shrugging and turning to the target controls Burton went about replacing the foam backing board as well as the target.
"Well Scott, while I do a final check of that monster behind you..."
He pointed to a weapon that looked like a version of the venerable yet fictitious M56 Smart Gun on steroids dominating a small table at the back of the range complete with body harness, actuating hydraulic arm, and what looked like two different caliber barrels.
"...why don't you get familiar with that pistol.....ooooor you can try out something a bit more...exotic."
Burton gestured to a couple of smaller weapons leaning against the wall adjacent to the firing line.
"Obviously you've seen the one on the right, the XM-90. Full auto battle carbine, fires 7.62mm at a ridiculous cyclic rate without being any longer than your standard M-4.
The one on the right however that's....different. It's a H&K BVW-1415, late prototype close-quarters weapon that's an electrically fired integrally suppressed PDW and 12 gauge shotgun capable of firing buckshot and slug rounds all in one compact package.
Lots of fun choices actually. You have American brute force, German precision engineering, or British heavy industry to pick from."
