For about a minute the only response the interstellar refugees received was silence, and once the answer was received it might seem a bit underwhelming.
"Abigale Moyle, proceed to hangar bay 2 to dock."
In preparation for the arrival of the strange spacecraft the hangar bay had been evacuated of people, just in case the strangers proved less than friendly. Only one man remained in the large room, standing casually at attention near the doors and waiting for the spacecraft to land, dressed in the same neat black uniform used by all the guards aboard the station. The only weapons he carried was a simple metal baton and a small pistol, because he didn't think he would need any more than that. The headmaster liked to play things safe though, so several dozen heavily armed guards were assembling on the other side of the doors just in case things turned sour.
Jenkins hoped that everything would go smoothly though, he had been waiting to welcome a new teacher to the station before he had been called away to deal with this, and he'd rather not have to spoil his good mood by hurting anyone.

Excuse me, sir. Seeing as how the V.P. is such a V.I.P., shouldn't we keep the P.C. on the Q.T.? 'Cause if it leaks to the V.C. he could end up M.I.A., and then we'd all be put out in K.P.

Already, Bramwell and Makoto did not like the lack of shared thoughts. It was awkward for people who usually organized through it, and considering that Makoto still may just need Bramwell to be a mouth-piece, though the need was not immediate. Bramwell was confused, and was having trouble finding people. Bramwell assumed there just might be sparring due to the mention of grouping-up, which meant that partners would probably be divided by sex, age, and weight. In the confusion, Bramwell accidentally fumbled into Jay.
"I am sorry about that," Bramwell said before he saw who he ran into. He had realized that he ran into somebody who was really tall for somebody that was sixteen. Suspecting that the trainers would correct him if not, he decided to ask. "Would you like to partner up?" Bramwell said. Makoto watched the preceedings with great interest, and noticed Sakura moving with great expediency.
"Cassie, would you be fine with me being your partner," Sakura said in a somewhat shy manner. She suspected largely the same thing as Bramwell, and so waited for a response.

The second Jay asked his question Burton was tempted to give himself a palm to the face for overlooking the obvious. Jay required a bit of an adjustment. Not leeway per se, but a bit of personal attention to give him confidence.Terintania wrote:Jay smiled in response to Burton's answer, and nodded, though he didn't say anything, more from being lost in thought then anything. He was paying attention, though.
He was very alarmed when Burton turned on the power suppressors. He was about to ask Burton if he could make an exception for his powers, since his wouldn't exactly be useful for helping him fight, other then helping him 'see' slightly, when Bramwell bumped into him. "Whoa," His voice sounded alarmed, and he seemed kind of at a loss of what to do. "It's Ok," He said when Bramwell apologized. "Sure..." He said, then felt a soft nose touch his hand. Roady had come over, noticing that his master was having problems seeing. Jay fumbled for Roady's leash, then raised his hand before asking,"Would it be possible to make an exception with my powers being suppressed?" He question seemed to have no direction, because he had no clue where Burton was, but it was probably obvious that it was directed at him.

Standing in front of Jay he spoke deliberately but at normal volume. He may have been blind but like most people in his position Jay probably didn't like to be patronized with the slow simplistic kind of speech patterns some people affected just for people like him.
"Well Jay, the suppressor stays on for the moment. I know it's intimidating but we'll work on it. Suppressors get more and more commonplace all the time so this might just happen.
But we'll go slowly. What I need you to do is to make a fist and fully extend your arm, and listen to my voice and where it seems to be coming from."
Burton slipped the pads onto his hands while waiting for Jay to do what he asked.

Burton watched the golden retriever pad off but stay close by, a testament to the dog's intelligence, empathy, and the training it received.Terintania wrote:Jay nodded to Burton, understanding the reason to leave the suppressor on, then said,'Go,' while pointing off to the side. Though it may not have been obvious, it was directed at Roady, and the seeing-eye dog obediently headed away to the side of the room. It was probably a good thing that Jay had two year's experience with being blind before he had his echolocation, and was good at pinpointing where sound was coming from. He did as he was told, though it seemed a little off.

Holding one of the punch-pads up he pressed it into the outstretched fist of Jay.
"Okay, you feel the pad, you know your arm is outstretched, and you hear about where my voice is. Now that you have that triangulated, punch the pad twice then duck, and keep listening.
Whenever you're ready."
Truth be told Burton wasn't completely sure if this would work totally, or of Bramwell or Sakura would start chattering and over analyzing as they usually did. However the technique was secondary to the primary purpose: to build Jay's confidence and self-assuredness in addition to kinsethetic awareness.

It seemed clear to him that the young girl taking the lead was a rather unpleasant sort, all glares and angry scowls as she approached him. She reminded him of the student Rachael Redwood. The male accompanying her looked to be about ten years her senior, and the similarity between the two made Jenkins assume that they were siblings. Neither looked particularly threatening, but assuming that looks wouldn't be deceiving could be a huge mistake so he would treat them with caution nonetheless.
The girl placed her rather large suitcase on the floor and introduced herself, sounding none too pleased to be there, and Jenkins mentally noted that it was her name that she had hailed the station with instead of the name or designation of her ship. "This is indeed the Academy for the Empowered," he answered calmly, "I am Richard Jenkins, the chief of security on this station. I would welcome you here, but first I must ask what your intentions in coming here are."

His first punch nearly missed the pad, and just barely hit the side. Jenkins listened and watched in silence as the two bickered, not really seeing a need to interfere until they had calmed down a little. When Markus threw his pistol to him he just caught it and studied it for a second before returning his attention back to the two. The weapon was obviously quite advanced, but not at all as advanced as Jenkins would assume based on their ability to create interstellar spaceships. If the headmaster allowed them to stay at the station he would ask the man about that, it might be a fascinating look into an alien culture that valued transportation much more than weaponry. At least the man's introduction had confirmed that the two were indeed siblings, though it now struck Jenkins as slightly odd that they knew how to speak English. He would have to ask them about that as well, if the headmaster allowed them to stay.
The girl seemed quite protective of whatever useful or valuable item might be in the suitcase, judging by the fact that she stabbed her brother in the hand for attempting to touch it. And either Markus was empowered or their species had a naturally faster rate of healing than humans, judging by the stab wound already visibly healing mere moments after the knife had been withdrawn. Both facts warranted further investigation.
"Miss Moyle," he said to Abigale, "I would ask that you refrain from stabbing people, it is against the rules of this station." Then he studied the suitcase for a moment before turning his eyes back to the two, "I would like to know what is inside the suitcase."
