"We don't need a stretcher," I grumbled, pushing up from the ground stiffly. When I'd disabled my target, who now lay on the ground whimpering in pain, John Doe and his other fellow had fired a couple rounds at me. One had clipped my shoulder, and another had sunk into my thigh. The wounds seemed to be significantly less painful this time then when I'd been shot in the stomach, but that was probably just the adrenaline that was rushing through my system. As I stood fully upright, the slug in my leg was slowly pushed back out through the entry wound, and thunked softly to the floor. "I can carry him."

I took the ropes from Tyler, using them to tie John Doe's hands behind his back, then his feet together, and lastly to gag him. Grabbing Doe around the waist, I hoisted him easily into a fireman's carry, balancing him on my left shoulder while gripping my left arm tightly around his legs, pressing them into my side. "Cause me any trouble," I whispered to him, "And I might accidentally 'drop' you on some nice soft concrete."

"Alright," I said to everyone. "Lets go to the drop zone. At a light jog, if everyone else can manage. I'd like to try and avoid this 'Midget' person by as wide a margin as possible."

Tyler looked at the rope Caitlin had handed him, trying to recall any knowledge he might have of tying people up. Having grown up in the city and barely ever having been out camping, he didn't really have much of an idea of how to tie a proper knot. Thankfully Tara seemed to know what to do, so he gave the rope to her when she asked for it. While she tied up Doe he gathered up all the guns dropped by the thugs, again to prevent them from being a danger down the line should they regain their senses. She seemed to have no trouble carrying the hogtied criminal on her own so Tyler saw no reason to try to help with that, he assumed he'd be more helpful by keeping an eye out for any pursuers, or this mysterious midget that was apparently on his way.

He nodded in agreement when Tara suggested that they get going, "you decide the pace, we'll watch your back."

He walked out into the street ahead of the others, looking around in case anyone was hiding nearby to ambush them, and spotted someone a little bit away, not more than a hundred yards. It looked like a man, a rather small man, but it was hard to tell exactly from so far away. Tyler only knew that it wasn't one of them, and the person certainly looked short enough to be a midget. "Guys, we should probably hurry up," he shouted to the others, "I think the midget's here."

The Midget was a short man, standing at roughly four feet tall, and looked very unimposing by any standards. But there was something odd about him, other than his shortness. His veins glowed a dull red that pulsated in time with his heartbeats, and any telepath trying to touch his mind would find nothing, as if there wasn't a person standing there at all.

When he spotted the group he started glowing more brightly, as if building up to something.

For Cassie, it was weird seeing Tara pretty much get shot and not give a crap, because it just healed and apparently didn't even hurt that bad. She tried not to think about the weirdness of healing abilities, and shook her mind back to the mission. Not that there was much for her to do right now while she waited for John Doe to get tied up and carried, so she just sort of kept guard in case something went bad.

"I can jog fine" Caitlin said. That was because she had done a lot of exorcise her whole life, and a ton the last few weeks, so she was in pretty good shape. Cassie nodded that she could do it as well, because it wasn't like she was entirely unfit either. She had exorcised, even though she didn't have a ton of opportunities to do so. Her only concern was her leg, which she hadn't really tested much while running. It caused her issues every now and then, and the most likely time for it to cause problems seemed like it could be while jogging or running, so she just hoped for the best that it didn't happen like that.

Of course, with their fantastic timing and luck, the midget apparently arrived already. Caitlin wondered if he was early, or if time really was going faster then she thought. It was amazing how a quick missions could actually feel like it took much longer then it did, even if it still wasn't THAT long. Cassie seemed to just be frightened now with the idea that this so-called midget arrived, and she showed it.

"Uhhh" Caitlin said, a hunt of worry hitting her voice when she saw the glowing midget dude. "Yeah, let's get going" She said quickly. Cassie also looked scared seeing Glowing Midget Man, and nodded in agreement. "I don't remember the way though, so someone who knows the way needs to speak up and lead us to where we need to go, and fast, before we find out what this little man's capable of" Cassie said to everyone, getting clearly jittery and wanting to get a move on before they found out what this man was like.

The Throne Room, Duchy of Night, Elemental Plane of Shadow

Antonio looks around the room and notice how subdued and dull the colors are. Even bright light seems dull.

"You're here." The man said. "Well child. I've given you complete control and authority over Duchy of Night. Everyone else has been told about it." He said. Antonio's just dumbfounded by what he said.

"W-w-what! I don't even know you and now you're giving me a duchy!"

"I am the anthropomorphic personification of the very plane itself. I have the authority to choose who to lead and where." The man said as the other two men beside him came to Antonio. "From your left is Peter Sanchez, and on your right is Alvaten." He said. Peter is holding a circlet on a pillow. Peter looks human, and would come out as such, if it weren't for his shadowy appearance. Alvaten, on the other hand, looks like a pale skined, white haired elf. They both bowed when their names are said. "Well, I can tell you would be fine with this." He then disappeared.

"If your eminence would be kind, there is a manner I wish to do." Alvaten asked to which Antonio agrees. Alvaten then teleported to another location, where the Lord of Shadow, in his original form, is. Alvaten then bowed.

"My lord, I am but a humble servant, and I do not have the right to even ask you." He then look up. "But why are you giving complete authority of the largest duchy to a human." He would spit at the phrase human, if it weren't rude to do so.

"Don't worry. The Lords and Ladies of the Elemental Planes have always plan for their children. Simply wait for the right time. The true Duke of Night would come and his regent would likely die before then. I better get going now. You don't want the Lords and Ladies to blame you for making me late."

"No, my lord." Alvaten said with fear then the Lord of Shadow disappear.

Declan once again stepped onto the station, carrying one bag with some clothes in it. He looked around briefly, watching for any familiar faces to greet him. He found none, and the few people nearby were moving supplies around from the ship he had just left. None of them were paying him any attention. Declan considered messing around with the other students by setting up some sort of prank, but decided that he should probably figure out where the other students were. He had heard on the flight that his friend Scott had become a teacher, and he didn't know if someone had taken the room they had shared in Declan's first year.

Declan started walking the halls meditatively. He had thought about the school many times on his travels, but he had never returned until that day. He hadn't felt like he could return until he had added more creatures and faces to his shifting repertoire. The school couldn't teach him the real experiences he needed for his power.

After thinking over everything that he remembered from school, and noticing that the hallways were pretty much clear, he thought everyone was most likely in the sim room. He wandered over there, after getting lost a few times, and waited by the door.
You're all insane.

Normally, Rachael kept the cuts shallow; it healed faster, and was harder to detect.
The blade of the scissors had slipped, and in frustration, she'd attempted to throw it at the wall. Attempted being the important word. Instead, the handle had swung around, leaving a lovely little slash across her wrist. And it hurt much more than the cuts lying diagonally on her calf.
Well, she'd have to get this one sorted out sooner or later, it was by far the most obvious and if it was seen, she'd get sent straight to the infirmary anyway. Hopefully, that was the only thing they'd treat.
She stumbled out of her room clutching her hand to her chest, still limping. Walking was quite hard when she was unbalanced. Eh, screw that, she could probably pretend to be all cute and shit and ask for help. Rachael hesitated, then knocked on a nearby door.

Unfortunately for Rachael that door happened to be Mina's who was in a seriously bad mood. When she heard the knocking she grumbled. "Who the hell could that be".She thought. No matter she answered the door. "Who the fuck are you and what the fuck do you want"? Mina asked. She looked aggrivated, stressed, and had a Tazer in her pocket if neccesary.

Rachael widened her eyes and stepped backwards, wincing, bringing forwards her hand to display the injury. "Sorry, I just needed some help getting to the infirmary..." She felt an idiot for not expecting this from someone in the villain dorm. "I'll just go..." Rachael backed away a fraction more, then slowly walked away.

"Actually wait this could be what I was waiting for". Mina thought to herself before grabbing Rachael by the wrist. At that moment she pulled her back to her door and brought her inside. "Here I can fix up the injuries myself. Do you trust me"? That was probably a stupid question to ask, but if things didn't go smoothly violence would be the final option.

Rachael winced and considered trying to run, but this girl seemed pretty determined to do... whatever it was and it wasn't like Rachael had any other choices that seemed even remotely perfect, apart from the one about going to the infirmary, which was actually seeming like a better idea now, because at least that would be safer than whatever this kid was offering. "Actually, no, I don't," she snarled, then yanked her wrist away.

"This bitch asked for it". Mina thought to herself. Right there and then she tackled Rachael onto her bed, and pulled out her Tazer. "Nighty Night". Mina said with a grin and shocked Rachael at high voltage in the gut. Hopefully she would pass out from shock or something of the like, but Mina would have to work fast on her. Really Mina couldn't believe she was trying to kidnap a student.

"What the fuck are you doing?" Rachael managed to yell as she was knocked onto the bed. Was this this girl's some fucking screwed-up version of healing? She continued to struggle, the moisture in the air condensing into drops, but before she could do anything useful with them such as trying to drown this bitch, there was some odd pain in her gut. She continued struggling, though, but the water had gone out her grip.

This bitch just won't learn when to quit", Mina thought. At the moment she was gripping the girls wound, and put a hand over her mouth. To prevent her from screaming. Mina shocked the girl again, and this time shocked the wound the girl had. Perhaps she would pass out from pain? This idea was satisfactory for mina as she prepared a third shock if she didn't go down.

Rachael was very, very tempted to scream out in pain, but that was too hard to do with a hand clamped over her mouth. And god, it hurt, with the shocks travelling up from her wrist and stomach and the pain from before still coming from her leg. As a last defence before passing out, somehow the water moisture emptied itself out over the bed like a miniature rainstorm. But by now, from the pain and the shocks and the sudden loss of energy from finally making the water work, Rachael was too unconscious to find out what effect it had had.

"Jesus now I'm wet". Mina said. Without a second of hesitation Mina gagged Rachael, and tied her hands and feet together. She made sure Rachaels hands were tied behind her back before Mina decided tend to her wounds. "Never leave home without a medical kit". She said to herself. Opening the bag she kept medicine, bandages, and sewing materials in she started to treat the wounds to the best of her ability. There was no use studying a dead specimen.

Jenkins
Jenkins sat in his office, drinking coffee and watching the security feeds on the screens in front of him, when a red light started flashing next to one of the screens. Not surprisingly it was the screen showing the villain dorms. The automated scanning software scanned all camera feeds for any signs of disturbances or violence and sounded an alert when it found something suspicious, which really made his job a lot easier. The current problem was in one of the student's bedrooms, the resident girl had attacked another student and dragged her inside. Thankfully Anderson had insisted on placing cameras everywhere, including hidden ones inside of all the bedrooms, otherwise things like these might have gone unnoticed.

He recalled that the problematic student in question was a technopath, able to manipulate advanced technology with her mind, and had an IQ off the charts. As head of security he had memorized the abilities of everyone on the station and thought of a way to deal with them if it became necessary, though most of the students and staff were perfectly happy with following the rules it never hurt to be prepared. On his way out he grabbed a shotgun loaded with beanbag rounds from a rack on the wall, because there was no advanced technology in that weapon, just gunpowder.

On his way down to the villain dorms he gathered up three guards he passed by, he didn't think he'd need their help but it never hurt to be cautious. Exactly two minutes after becoming aware of the trouble he was standing outside the door to the offending student's quarters. One of the guards swiped his keycard in the lock and pulled the door open, revealing the two students inside. He recognized the victim as one of those on the blacklist, Rachael Redwood, and made a mental note that Mina Kaboi would have to be added to it as well.

"Miss Kaboi," Jenkins said calmly, "please come with us."

Tyler
"Follow me, I know the way," Tyler said, and started jogging down a street. Luckily the midget had appeared from the opposite direction from where they needed to go, so they should be able to avoid him. Tyler suspected that the midget was meant as some sort of 'game over', an unbeatable foe that would make the task impossible if they had taken too long to complete the first part, so he didn't really want to fight him.

After a little while he slowed down and looked back to make sure that everyone, especially Tara, was keeping up.

An invisible Declan was already bored with waiting, so he started thinking about the best way to surprise people. Most people on the station wouldn't know about him, so he would have the element of surprise.

As he waited, he saw an armed man and some guards heading down, probably to the villain dorm. He decided to follow them, and join his classmates later.

Bramwell and Makoto

The two had kept up. They made note of the midget's walking speed and so were keeping up. They could run the quarter mile in roughly twelve-and-a-quarter seconds, but were moving at a preffered walking speed of five-point-five miles-per-hour so as to avoid becoming too far away from anybody in need of help. For this reason they remained at a midway point between it, with Makoto focusing her senses behind her while Bramwell looked forward so as to ensure the two could maintain a viable field of view. They were not intending to fire upon the "midget" just in case his power had something to do with that. They were clearly running at a slower pace than they usually did, and were more doing that out of a need to help somebody should they fall behind.

Fuck how did they find out.... Mina thought to herself, but then it hit her. She knew there would have to be Camera's located in her dorm. Was it just the villain dorms? She had no idea at the moment, but she needed a way out. Assaulting the guards wasn't an option. "She had wounds that were bleeding out and she wouldn't of made it to the nurses office, she was hysterical and needed help"! Mina said. That was all she could come up with on the spot.

"She doesn't look seriously injured," Jenkins said calmly, "and if she were, it seems odd that you would tie her up and gag her before administering aid."

He paused for a few seconds, just looking at Mina without any expression apparent on his face. "Now, would you kindly come with us?"

Tyler
The midget didn't seem to have moved at all in the time that they had been running, but his glow was becoming even brighter, which worried Tyler very much. He almost expected that the little man would explode and take out the entire town along with him, a very effective 'game over' device. When he glanced back, making sure that everyone was keeping up, something started happening to the midget.

The man started growing, swelling grotesquely as the light surrounding him dimmed to nearly nothing. The light seemed to take the form of his flesh as he grew and within a few seconds he had grown almost tenfold, tall enough to tower over some of the buildings surrounding him. The twisted glowing titan started slowly walking towards them, his lumbering footsteps making the ground tremble.

"Hurry up!" was all Tyler could think of to say to the others.

Declan watched from the doorway as a girl tried to deny attacking another girl, who looked a lot like Roxanne. Declan assumed that they must be sisters. Even though he remained invisible, he rolled his eyes at the attacking girl's blatant lie. If she planned to be a villain, she should probably start lying better. Perhaps Roxanne's sister was already injured, but it wasn't plausible that someone could think that tying her up would be helpful.

Declan also took notice of the way that the officials had been alerted, and resolved not to do anything suspicious in his room.
You're all insane.

We all started out at a slow jog, Tyler leading the way, Bramwell and Makoto lagging behind the rest of us. It felt a bit awkward, jogging when my center of gravity was so skewed. It wasn't that holding John Doe over my shoulder was tiresome; in fact I barely noticed his weight. It was just awkward, like trying to carry a big foam ball. He was letting his upper body hang, and it's shifting weight made my steps a little more uncertain than they usually were. I could still move at a good pace (faster than the Crazy Twins, at least) without tiring. And as the 'Midget' didn't appear to be making any sort of effort to gain on us, I was feeling pretty good about our chances.

Then the Midget started glowing. And growing.

"Everyone run!" I shouted.

I grabbed John Doe tighter about the legs and broke into a sprint. Not bothering to look back, I focused only on making my legs move faster and my feet land soundly. I figured I'd reach the drop point in about thirty seconds.

Bramwell and Makoto

When the thing started growing, Bramwell and Makoto quickly stopped walking, and instead started running. Bramwell and Makoto usally got three hours of exercise every day so long as other ciurcumstances did not prevent that from happening. For these reasons, they were relatively fit. They hit a consistent stride rate of 190 steps a minute with a runner's posture (upright and leaning slightly forward). With their constistent training, they were able to go well above the average running speed of people as a whole despite wearing trenchcoats. They were not the fastest runners on the planet, but they were moving at a consistently high speed in spite of the trenchcoats. They were keeping an eye out for anybody lagging behind. Should the "lolly-gagger" move slow enough to be at risk, Bramwell hoped they would intend to encircle the person and carry them the rest of the way there should the person's speed be hazardous to their welfare.

However, something was making him worried. He could tell that Makoto was on edge. In preparation, he prepared to carry Makoto the rest of the way should it happen before she reach the end-goal. This was not going to be a good day for Makoto. Even though Makoto already had delusions, her speech was becoming incoherent. Since she had never had that before, it was easy to tell that it was going to be an bad day for Makoto.

The Lords and Ladies of the Elemental Planes. The living incarnations of the very planes themselves. A vast array of planes with an infinite amount of concepts under their control. The closer a plane is to a reality, the more of the plane influences the reality and the concepts in it a part of the reality. All but one elemental plane is known, for only the Lords and Ladies know of its existence, the Elemental Plane of Magic. Some say that plane is where the Source of Magic is found, and he who controls it, controls everything. Others say that the plane is where God, or The Creator, or The Source, lives.

Near the end of the 1400's at the Kingdom of Castile, an amateur magician made a pact with the Lords and Ladies. He then bless his newborn child with the pact, and so do all of his descendants. When the mana elemental finally appear, he who controls it would gain perpetual magic. What he did not know, is he just sold the Awaken souls of his entire family lineage. With the mana elemental still sealed, Erebus 'Shade' Fernandez, Child of Night and Heir Apparent to the Duchy of Night, made it his purpose to keep it sealed and to stop those who would wish to break it, by any means necessary. When Antonio's powers first awaken by the death of his father, the Lords and Ladies whispered to their future Dukes, and they succumb to their will, even if it was only subconsciously. Shade's the only one who didn't, but that may change.

Unknown Location, Elemental Plane of Balance

The Lords and Ladies are having a meeting as a glowing white, pale skinned woman is about to finish talking.

"... and the Chancellor of Good Fortune is using a large amount of magic to bend probability to his will." The Lady of Light said.

"Now on more important matters." The Lord of Balance said. "The mana elemental will soon awaken and our whispers to its blank mind would make it open the door to the Plane of Magic, once it takes control over its vessel. Now, why would its vessel's mind be in your plane." He asked.

"Before the mana elemental awaken, Erebus must accept my proposal to become my duke. All it takes for the seal to break is for him to say 'I'm the Duke of Night'. Since he and the vessel bonded together through a blood pact, I can influence him through the vessel." The Lord of Shadow answered.

"Now what to do afterwards? We could always come to them and say a demonic horde's invading." The Lord of Life said.

"This reality just recently resisted an invasion. It would make things more difficult." The Lady of Death said.

"We can't truly die and a harder fight would make things much more fun." The Lady of Light said with a smile that would make the sun shudder.

The minds of the Lords and Ladies are maddening, for they can see nearly everything, even time. Every possible past, every possible present, and every possible future, they can see. The only thing they can't see are themselves, and the Elemental Plane of Magic. If it deals with themselves, they can only see the past, and the present. They do not care for the consequences of their actions, for they can undo it, and they see the alternatives. How can a being truly feel pity when its under their control and they can see almost every possibility at the same time.

"No I didn't do anything wrong! I refuse"! Mina stepped back towards Rachael and pulled out her tazer and put it near Rachaels face. "L-leave now or she'll be going blind"! Mina yelled. If worse came to worse she would always detonate her laptop, being a technopath did give her a telepathic link to technology after all. It wouldn't be a huge explosion, but one to be a good enough distraction.
