I think the Terran Federation is lawful evil, in the book they do nothing but commit species genocide.

As for the symbiote, its manifestation might put up a fight, unfortunately neuro toxin might shock the shit out of the contractor and host creating an endless flight or in mid air feeling as his mind retreats inwards.
