If you want a group of powerful supers to be challenged, then you need to square them up against a different, equally powerful group of supers.

But a super, like Josh or Tyler, against a warship? That's just unfair.

Yeah, I know. If the ship acted like it was an actual battle, Tyler literally would be incapable of seeing the ship engaging him since naval weapon systems ever since World War Two are able have ranges beyond the Earth's curvature of 14 miles. The mission was effectively a F-22 Raptor push cart compared with a F-22 Raptor. They had to handicap it by having the ship's objective be to board rather than to sink so as to ensure the ship is even capable of being seen in battle.

Actually, it's spelled "queue". "Que" is Spanish conjunction, pronounced "kay".

But, yes. That is what I meant.

Zerrin has a pair of villains wandering around. You could always bump into them.

That, and their orders were to board and seize the ship. And you can't really seize a ship if you're fourteen miles away on the open ocean.

Exactly, this was not a battle. This was handicapped, especially since USN traditionally keep the ships from which boarding actions are organized a very nice distance so that small-arms cannot threaten the ship while much smaller, faster, and nimbler ships bring boarding teams to the targeted vessel since it protects the boarding teams better and leaves the ship organizing the boarding action safe from threats posed by the non-military ship. Considering the distances at which small arms and hand-held explosives are accurate, this is usually several miles away. This was handicapped by having the USN not board properly. This is why I equated it to a push-cart that looks like a F-22 compared with an actual F-22. Then again, this is assuming the boarding action is against people refusing to respond or known hostiles. Otherwise, they just send a small boat over with a CO and others to examine documents of the ship and search it if suspicion was not decreased by the documents.

It is like simulating a bar fight where the simulated police reaction is a bunch of AI Barney Fifes. It is handicapped in favor of the brawlers and is nowhere close to being a simulation of what police reaction to a bar-room brawl would be. However, if the simulation's point is what I think it has built-up to, the simulation requires the USN ship to be close by so that the people make the mistake and destroy

Again, I'm thinking a twist of some sort, like maybe a super or better yet, forcing us to turn on each other (now that'd be fun amirite?)

I actually thought to the point where I realized that, for my inferred intent of the simulation, the ship had to be within range of the students to destroy. If the ship was not within range where one could attack it, then the lesson I think is coming up would not work. Showing a realistic simulation of a boarding action to defend against, from what I infer, is not the point of the simulation. What is important was that the vessel was close enough to destroy since I get the feeling the simulated scenario was meant for something other than training. The point of the simulation seems to be the set-up of a speech (cue music that would not be out of place with "emotional" scenes from Full House: I hope you learned something valuable today about the value of C, blah blah, AWW, close with cheesy jokes for 'levity', start credits, CLAP, interrupt credits with bumpers) than a performance review (student XY needs more practice on the firing range; he is simultaneously inaccurate and precise).

Nah. Well yes. But I am not Tara.

Tara is just tired of everything to do with Bramwell. And telling everyone to not resist against a bunch of soldiers that will shoot them on sight was kind've the last straw for her.

I almost considered the concept of quoting the post and inserting noticed issues in red to have fun with a post that completely misses the point of the statement as though I graded a short story for a college English class. You already lost points since contractions are not allowed outside of dialogue in college papers in a fact many people are not told about before their first paper.

I changed my mind since I was too lazy to be a grammar Nazi to anybody but myself.

It was good, though I made enough corrections before stopped grading that I think it was in the 81-86 percentile range.

Literary quality was something I could appreciate, despite a trope that annoys being present in your posts.

Might I ask why you wanted my unknown highly esteemed opinion on what I guess is the literary quality of the post?

Let me be more specific. Are you OK with Tara man-handling Bramwell? And what trope are you referring to?

On a more light-hearted note, I do have an ten-page Canadian Studies paper on the North West Passage, if you're interested.

Not trying to be a dick, but teleporting people from some unknown point on the surface of the planet, to a small room in a space-station at an unknown point way above the planet, seems to me like a task that's a little bit outside of Sakura's capabilities.

I wasn't thinking about that at the time, but yeah, that does seem a little extreme for a student.

I'm a little confused, isn't this a simulation? So is the station icnluded in the simulation or does it mean that they are removed from it? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of it either way? Sorry, I'm just a little confused.

I'm not entirely clear on that either. But, considering you're going to have some students that can run around the world in a few seconds, or fly into outerspace, etcetera, that the simulation doesn't have any boundaries.
