In other news, after checking out the new Ferrari F12berlinetta, I've decided to base the physical appearance of James' car off of it, the main differences being paintjob (obs), the roof being a retractable soft-top, and being rear-mid-engined and AWD instead of front-mid-engined/RWD.

Slap a retractable black soft-top and James' signature black-and-red tiger-stripe paintjob onto it, and it's the perfect look. Just pretend it can go as fast as a McLaren F1, and also has all-wheel-drive.

Name: Chris Rühr
Call Sign: Cinder
Age: 26
Specialty: Aerospace Pilot
Description or Photograph: Chris is exactly six feet tall and athletically built. His hair is short and copper coloured while his face is narrow with angular cheeks and jawline. The small silver studs of ocular implants can be seen protruding from the outer corner of each eye.
Biographical Information: Having long wished to become a combat pilot, Chris studied aerospace engineering at university on his homeworld of Outreach, only to be turned down by the Taurian Concordat's military on account of his eyesight not being quite up to standard. This was still deemed to be the case even after he had his eyes augmented with implants to the point that they were better than most humans with perfect vision.
Instead Chris became freighter pilot, but grew swiftly bored with the monotony of cargo transport and eventually went looking for more interesting employment. He successfully signed on with Gun Special Squadrons, as an aerospace fighter pilot providing close air support for their mechwarriors - the job he had always wanted. Under the GSS medical plan, his implants were further enhanced and reprogrammed so that they could receive information from whatever craft he was piloting and project it on to his retinas. In theory, Chris could literally fly with his eyes closed, while his degree gives him a theoretical knowledge of aerospacecraft repair supplemented by practical experience from jury-rigging repairs on ageing freighters.
Do you own your own vehicle? If so what kind? No, but can we say that GSS have Ammons he can fly?
Personal Equipment: For personal protection he keeps a combat knife and rail pistol with custom sights designed to work with his implants to project a targeting reticule wherever he points it. Both are sheathed and holstered within his flightsuit. He also has a set of customised control interfaces for plugging into his cockpit to work with the implants and a rather piecemeal collection of tools scrounged, stolen and occasionally even paid for over the course of his freighting career.
OOC: What experience do you have with Battletech? Next to none. I've spent maybe four hours total on MechAssault 2 for the XBox, of which maybe two hours was focused on the story campaign and the rest was spent pwning everything with a Thor on some sort of challenge mode, so I know pretty well nothing besides being able to name a few mechs. This application took me a couple hours of researching on Battletech Wiki

GSS doesn't have much equipment to start and thus it requires you to buy your own vehicles, though I'm pretty sure they buy ordnance and fuel and stuff.
Clan tech is rare, however, and your biggest problem may be the Battle Value is about 700 too much. Don't ask me about BV, because I don't know anything about it. Saint's pretty flexible about it, I think, any you may have to make the Ammon modified so it has a lower BV, but you need to consult Saint about it anyway.
So yeah. Your biggest problem is BV, but I'm sure you can find a fix for that. Oh, and this RP has been lately updating very slowly; I keep telling Saint to timeskip straight to the Jihad, but he's pretty insistent that he wants to go through training. I understand it, though people will be losing interest if we go through it.

Forgot to check the BV values - thanks for pointing that out. Also, I read through some of the IC and OOC and saw GSS is using Corsairs, so I'm happy to go with that.

Ularn wrote:I might have an idea for a mechwarrior character as well if I need to have one but like I said, I'm probably better at writing when I only have one character to keep track of.
Name: Jasmine Mandela
Call Sign: Bitch
Age: 37
Specialty: 'Mechwarrior
Description or Photograph: "Built like a brick sh*thouse" is one phrase Mandela's former comrades used to describe her. "Bulldyke" is another. Standing 5'7" and weighing in at almost fourteen stones of nearly pure muscle, Mandela is dark skinned and keeps her black hair shaved close to her scalp.
Biographical Information: Throughout her career, Subaltern Jaz Mandela was the lone woman in a company of Battlemechs in the Taurian Defence Force. To cope with working in such a male dominated environment, Mandela resolved to verbally and physically kick the ass of every single pilot the moment they tried to cast any sort of aspersions on her sex. This behaviour swiftly earned her a reputation as a hardass among the more favourable 'mech pilots and as a bitch among the less but, rather than being upset by this, Mandela took it as a sign she was doing something right and adopted it as her callsign, thereby forcing her detractors to use in formally and making it impossible to use it as an insult.
Although never really liked by her subordinates, Mandela was recognised as a gifted 'mechwarrior and her reign of terror did eventually see her promoted to command of a Battlemech company before a training accident left her crippled and her Catapult C4 2.0 waiting to be scrapped. Although the damage to her left leg was repaired through surgery and prosthetics, she was no longer deemed medically fit to pilot 'mechs and received an honourable discharge.
Sick of civilian life after only a few months, Mandela signed on with Gun Special Squadrons, taking with her the Catapult she rescued from the scrapheap and jury-rigged some repairs.
Do you own your own vehicle? If so what kind? Damaged CPLT-C4 Catapult (BV (2.0) = 1,358)
Personal Equipment: Black TDF Officer's beret, Flightsuit,
OOC: What experience do you have with Battletech? See above, though I've spent longer on the wiki now.

Name: John Perry
Call Sign: Prime
Age: 27
Specialty: Mechwarrior
Description or Photograph:
Biographical Information: As a fresh-faced Mechwarrior, Perry was taken on by a small, undistinguished mercenary group that threw in with Katrina Steiner-Davion during the FedCom Civil War. Perry piloted an Argus during this time, claiming an Uziel as salvage early on in his career. Subsequently he used his salary to repair the Uziel, which turned out to be a fortuitous move on his part. The four lances' that comprised his mercenary group were torn apart during an engagement against enemy forces. Only a few other pilots made it out alive. With his Argus claimed as salvage, Perry took his Uziel to Solaris, competing in the Medium weight matches there until he'd saved up enough to purchase a Black Hawk-KU. Once again piloting a Heavy Mech, Perry has returned to Outreach to sign up with a new mercenary group.
Do you own your own vehicle? If so what kind?:
Heavily Modified Uziel
Carries 10 tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor. Standard weapons have been stripped in order to accommodate a second Large Pulse Laser. Engine has been replaced with a 315XL series. This Mech was equipped purely for Solaris VII matches.
Slightly Modified Black Hawk-KU
The stock Medium and Small Lasers have been stripped, and replaced with a single Large Pulse Laser. Two Medium Pulse Lasers have been removed in order to incorporated additional heat sinks.
Personal Equipment: Nothing notable.
OOC: What experience do you have with Battletech? With Battletech? None (Actually, scratch that. I've made a character before, played it a bit, and have experience with various other d20 tabletops, but not particularly with Battletech). With Mechwarrior? A fair bit (I've played Mechwarrior4: Mercenaries too many times to count. I played a few other Mech games when I was younger. It was the first video game series that I really got into).
