Counter-terrorist police. It makes sense if we had this gear rather than a baseball cap.

Wow.

Without the Police marks on it and helmets, that looks very similar to the UNIT uniform, minus the beret. It's not like that many people actually wear the red berets into missions, though, because that's like yelling "Look at me, I'm a target!"

UNIT uniform is probably based on that. Would make perfect sense to me.

Nat, Rup, AETEN, I'm waiting. Otherwise, your people will be shoehorned awkwardly into the cars and I'm moving you up in the Hit List. Except Nat, because Nat's a tricky bastard and has already wrapped himself up irreversibly into the plot.

What.

I didn't say that. If you read the wonderful work of art that was my post, you'd see that the squad had 4 cars allocated to it. You get to go in a car with Gur'obbf (now an NPC), L-C, and Greene.

Good luck with that.

I like how Logan is the only one in his squad actually ready. I know Ende, you control the CO, but he's the exception since the plot moves along with him somehow by magic.

Kind of the point, I assume. Diverts attention from civilians, scares off any alien with a brain.

They always wore the berets in both shows, to my knowledge.

CO stands for Commanding Officer, since I don't know what else to call your character. And a first name doesn't show respect of rank in my book so count that out.

Counter-terrorist police. It makes sense if we had this gear rather than a baseball cap.

I was hoping to lean more towards something like this but without the helmet. Then eventually move in a longer term phase towards this.

No. You're going to wear the comically idiotic uniform designed by a mentally handicapped chimpanzee toddler like every other U.N.I.T. soldier, and you're going to like it.

Or we could just give the more loose cannon elements free reign to wear psycho killer jumpsuits so that we can intimidate people and aliens who would rather negotiate with the more reasonable looking UNIT soldiers.

That's the stupidest Idea I...wait....actually that's completely insane. So insane, in fact, that I think we should try it anyway!

That's not that bad of an idea.

Anyway, I think everybody's in except Nikolai, Jon, and Johann, (and Nat) so I'll just shove them into the vehicles so we can get going. Actually, I'll wait until tomorrow to post, but I'm expecting at least one of them to post by then.

I mean, yes. Those berets are utter shit. But they (IIRC) wear body armour, black clothes and webbing. If they wore helmets on top instead of those berets then it'd be pretty similar to the kit worn by the SAS in the Iranian Embassy incident.

Not necessarily. Are we responding to a massive threat? f not, and we're just meant to be masquerading as armed police on patrol, then the baseball cap would be standard uniform. Or the police bowler hat for Trudi... I'll be wearing the UNIT clothes, with my RIFLES rank slide and probably the UNIT beret and a police cap in my pocket to swap out when dealing with civvies. Then a backpack for the AWC and L22.

Yes, Shit I say. Berets = 100% ally when worn correctly.

Image
Look, it's not a beret: it's a muffin!

Image
Such terribleness, isn't there (I.D. the Helicopter Landing pad on the right of the image and the Helicopter Landing pad on the top of the image)? But: look on the left side, there's some one staring right at the camera with his beret slid back over his head like one of those chavs with a cap, behind him is a dude with a beard: and his beret is moulded perfectly for comparison with the British army beret. The only difference is his cap badge should be aligned the same as Pte Jenkins' is: over the left eye or a little bit left of your left eye.

I will be wearing it in full British army style. And will fight any man/woman/alien who tries to alter my headdress. Also, I will be wearing my British army rank slide and doing everything in British army style.

The Rifles, because you're worth it...

By Rifles, I mean RIFLES. The Rifles Regiment of the British Army.

Also, I don't want the SCAR. I will, for the RP, use the SA80 IFV (aka L22) in an A2 format. I'm not going to get into a discussion about what should replace the SA80 series (primarily the L85 A2), but I don't think it should be the SCAR.
