"Oh, i must of been distracted when told about that." said Armypaw getting up to follow Starpatch. "Also, I'm not going to the gathering." said Armypaw now staring at a butterfly landing on his nose.

"You're going to have to pay more attention if you want to become a Warrior," Starpatch meowed sternly. His ears twitched when Armypaw said that he wasn't going to the Gathering. "If you were chosen, would you go? It's an honor to be chosen, and just throwing away that honor would be rude," He meowed as he padded into the sandy hollow where the cats did their training. "Ready?"

Lightheart gave a nod, then continued washing herself. She got done about the same time as Lightningpaw. When he asked if it was alright if he went and talked to Midnightpaw, her ear twitched. "It's not my place to tell me who you can or can't talk to," She meowed in reply.

Lightningpaw padded out of the den and over to midnighpaw. He smiled and meowed " Hey Midnight pelt . " Laying on his haunches waiting for an answer from the cute apprentice.

Bailey wakes up from sleep and walks up to icefire "Am i going to the gathering?"He asks.

Echopaw climbed out of the apprentices den, stretching out in the warm sunlight and letting her jaws gape in a yawn. "A new kit?" She wondered aloud as she walked to the center of the clearing, searching for Midnightpelt to see if they were going hunting.

Midnightpelt padded over to Echowpaw. "How late did you stay up last night? It's nearly sundown," He meowed, then stretched. He looked like he had recently given himself a bath. "Puffstar asked me to tell you that you can come to the Gathering tonight."

"Yes, Blackfoot told you that earlier, remember," Icefire meowed gently as she began licking herself to get herself clean. "Your last Gathering as an apprentice. Puffstar said that he would do the warrior ceremony after we got back, so you could do your silent vigil properly," She meowed.

Watch what I do," He ran across the sandy clearing and lashed out with his back legs, taking all his weight on to his front paws. His back legs were quickly back on the ground and he skidded to a stop, turning to face Armypaw. "Now you try. In battle, you have to remember to judge your opponent's distance from you very carefully."

And, at the memory of her dreams, she shook with an invisible shiver.

"If you eat fast, we can," Midnightpelt meowed, following her over to the pile and picking a mouse out of it. He then settled down to eat.
