While she was in training, Dana felt oppressed, and stifled, not comfortable sharing emotions. So she covered it with a facade of being cheerful, making constant jokes (and being the butt of them.) Her demeanor helped her get promoted, however, she soon found herself at a dead end, working with papers and acting more like a secretary than a Witch. When her boss wanted certain... favors, she volunteered for the Strike Wing.

Rank is to high. I would say drop it down to captain at minimum, but I don't feel the bio provides enough justification for such a high rank. Maybe a first Lt. Honestly though your bio doesn't give any explanation as to how she became a CO. If she got promoted because of her demeanor then she is most likely enlisted and is a NCO. I would also suggest fleshing out your bio a bit more.

That said, I haven't found anything about a recent attack against MNG troops. Most of the stuff I'm finding is either about the satirical article or the Boston Marathon bombing.
