No need. I pulled some Inheritance bull out of the sky, anchoring the blocks in his own lifeforce. A strong EMP would disrupt it, of course. I left a hole to insinuate a few more evil bits and pieces.

Maaaaaaybe. Have you ever seen Eureka? The sci-fi show about a bunch of genii? Like a directed pulse from their pulse pistols, except magnified. Or a better example may be the star wars stun setting on the blaster weapons. Magnified of course.

Not quite. Solar flares are eruptions of highly agitated gas particles expanding in a thermo-nuclear pattern. These particles wash over the ozone, creating the aurora borealis (among other things). Solar flares of that size would definitely disrupt electronics, but not like an EMP.
