But there's a difference between snipers and designated marksmen. During the time, I think most DMs were still given the standard M1 Garand, except maybe the marines.

Marines were given M1A1 Carbine, and were rarely seen in the Pacific with a M1 Garand. Also, they were given different versions of the Thompson, as well as many other guns.

Just because you give a guy a scoped weapon doesn't make him a sniper. My buddy carried an SR-25 with a scope, but he hadn't gone to Sniper School.

My father actually was a Designated Marksman and carried around a sniper rifle with him on most missions. (Exact gun? I don't know, he didn't talk about it much. Which, he has every right not to)

Critique my Sobel! 1-10
Dickness: 4

Assholeness: 8

Would you fight alongside him?: Yes, although I would not be thrilled about it, I am still soldier and it is my duty to follow and obey orders.

Promotion. He fucking showed me how modest Sobel is. Not at all. He actually, in reality, was a good man at heart, I feel, but... I'm sure he only did it to get himself on the good side of the Army. He was an amazing drillmaster, but a terrible field-leader. He was too shaky, and made too many mistakes. Just like Foxhole Norman. (Norman Dike)

I know, and the SR-25 is a sniper rifle, but Designated Marksmen are given Advanced Marksmanship Training, as opposed to Sniper Training.

Yeah, we should probably move it along and say we've made it to the top, stop us from stagnating so soon on a training exercise!

Almost (I think) finishing the 3 mile training climb, with the stragglers at the back, some people powering ahead and one asshole in a car!

You can just saying someone along the lines of how much your legs were hurting, and depending on your character whether that was a lot of a little, or if he liked Sobel or other squad members Then you can type his thoughts or have him speak to someone to get the ball rolling!

But you know, do whatever you want, whatever you think your character would do in this situation

Well Walker comes from a military family, so 3 miles training climbs are nothing...assuming we are just running up a mountain or something like that.

And now I have Blood on the risers stuck in my head.

Yeah, the Marines didn't have the M1 Garand at first but they eventually did get them. Around late 1942 to early 1943.

And they had the M1 Carbine, the A1 version was the version meant for paratroopers.

SHH. Sobel is trying to teach, Private.
But, yeah. They had the M1 Carbine, but the A1 Sauce was destined to be given to paratroopers. M1A2 was a tank.

.50 Caliber Machine Gun (Heavy Machine Gun) was for mostly Shermans, Light M3 Tank, M4 Tank, M5 Tank, M4A1 A2 A3.

Long story short, they have the M1919, M1917, and the Besa MK-3 on their tanks. Most likely, stronger and more durable tanks had the M2, but M2's were mostly used for ground-combat.

no I thought it meant for the crews. You know as a backup if the tank was knocked out.

There's no hope if the tank is knocked out. The only chance the crew has is to get out before it explodes, and if they don't, they are already dead. Its a 50 ton ball of steel, hit by another 60 ton ball of steel firing an explosive shell. There's absolutely no hope for the crew if those men inside can't get out before the enemy fires, and if they do get out, they are a coward. (Germans and the British killed their own men on the field for not dying with their tank commander. Check out all of the African Campaign)
