POINT LOOKOUT

In the Herzog Mine, two Syndicate Soldiers in T-45d Power Armor with the Sydicate Emblem approached the man and his guards. They scanned the men with their eyes before nodding. "Mr. Blackhall, please come with us". The two Soldiers led the group deep into the mine, to an open area. There were military supplies all around, from weapons to armor and boxes. About 10 Soldiers were inside, along with a little boy. They were led into the room, where a man stood. He wore what looked like a Brotherhood Scribe Robe, with the Syndicate Symbol on it. The man smiled at Mr. Blackhall.

"Mr. Blackhall" he nodded, putting his hand out. "I am Michael, Michael Shepard. Please call me Shepard..."

Obadiah Blackhall: (Shakes hand) Hello, Michael Shepard. My name is Obadiah Blackhall, and I see you know who I am. I didn't expect you all to understand who I am before I even came in.

Obadiah Blackhall: You see, I'd mostly like to know what you bunch are doing walking around, near my home. You see, I am a bit fond of you're little group here, this.."Syndicate"? You see, one of you're scouts brought me a very important part of my heritage. A book. You're group have also left me alone, and have not bothered me since you arrived here and started cleaning up, mostly with the scum who protrude in this swamp.

Obadiah Blackhall: You see...I am a old man, from a once powerful family. I have studied many things. I have lived through the trials and tribulations of life. Mainly this land. I assume you can see that growing up in this swamp must be problematic. And...I would like to offer you a deal. You also seem to be rather...knowledgeable about me. Would you like to hear about it?

Perhaps I don't have much time left. But let me tell you, when I was as young as you, I was training. I was surviving. I learned how to fight a battle, I learned how the common solider fought. I fought people who tried to rob my home. I understand how the solider thinks.

Obadiah Blackhall: So...if you'd like, I'd be glad to work with you. I know many places around this swamp. If you ever need a additional bunker, there is a old Cellar used by Swampfolk (Where you find the Krivbech) But, regardless, since you also seem to know about me and my family. My family made Point Lookout, from the ground up. What do you think?

--THE ENCLAVE--

Capitol Building-- National Mall

At the Capitol Building, America's former House of Congress and center of Government activity, Enclave Soldiers and volunteers alike conclude with their preparation for the President's arrival. For a week, the Enclave has been hard a work, restoring the Capitol Building and setting up Security Measures to make sure the President is 100% safe when he arrives. Now while almost all people of the Capital Wasteland support the Enclave, Colonel Winters and Farris fear that Shepard and his men will use this as an opportunity to strike. It's almost certain that Shepard will attempt to assassinate President Castor.

Sniper nests lie in many of the surrounding buildings, including the Washington Monument, keeping a watchful eye on the areas, ready to act if there is a threat to the life of the President. President Castor will also be required to wear armor underneath his clothes, to protect against gunfire. When President Castor arrives, the Enclave will do everything in their power to protect him.

Adams Air Force Base

Back at the Enclave Command Center, Adams Air Force Base, Colonel Perseus Winters and Colonel William Farris approve a document giving non-feral Ghouls total equality. This includes ability to be involved in politics, to vote, serve in the military, and all other freedoms given to non-Ghouls. While Farris wasn't totally on board, Winters was dedicated. He knew that it was time to ensure total equality before the true democratic system works its way into the Capital Wasteland.

Both Winters and Farris are quickly being recognized as heroes to the people of the Capital Wasteland. Known for their excellent leadership skills and military record, they're two of the most revered men in the Capital Wasteland, and their reputation is gaining them a prominent status among Enclave Command back in Chicago. Though, still only a select few know about Colonel Winters and his true past...

"Buckle in sir. We have arrived" requested one of the crew members. Castor fastened his seat belt in collaboration. A cheer sounded outside like a bugle that was so loud it could be heard over the band. Curious, Castor stuck his nose into the window. A crowd of people had gathered in a rather open field, near the air force base. A location that was chosen for its ability to host the massive number of individuals that were expected to attend, both military and civilian. The crowd of civilians were placed behind the crowd of militants. "Lots of people" castor said to himself, impressed. "Yes sir. There all here to see you Mr. President.". Castor looked to the crew member that had been assisting him these last couple of days as they made the long journey from Nevada to Washington D.C. . "Wonderful. 40 years separated I still became my father.". The crew member looked confused "Pardon me Sir?". "He used to be a politician before the oil rig... imploded, and Navarro... Exploded as it were". The airman seemed to understand a bit more. "Did he draw large crowds?". Castor nodded. "Only at his speeches, not so much at his job". "Ah, I see sir." The airman said while nodding. Suddenly a large bounce was felt throughout the vertibird as it touched down on a flat open surface near the rear of the set up stage. The airman handed the president some body armour. "Sir. Would you mind putting this on. Your safety is the number one priority here.". "Please, Its not like anybody wants to kill me. I have done my best to rebuild this nation in a humane and libertarian fashion. Its the reason I am here after all.". "Even so, there is always the possibility sir.". Castor nodded. "I suppose your right airman.". Castor removed his over-shirt, bow tie and jacket. He proceeded to strap on the vest and then put his upper body clothes back on.

The door to the vertibird slid open, a blinding light filling the chopper that moments before had been lit only by a feint green emergency light. Castor shielded his eyes accordingly while his iris proceeded to adjust his pupil accordingly. The sound of castors supremely positive introduction by a military man named Farris could be heard well into the vertibird and out across the field. As it concluded Castor separated himself from the vertibird that he had called his home for the last few days, save the trips into the refueling posts less then every 200 miles.

The 60 year old man stood out like a sore thumb. Most personnel were wearing Enclave power armour, enclave officer uniform, scientist dress or something else of that nature. Even the civilians were wearing something nice for the most part. Castor however, exited the craft in a gorgeous suit. A suit fit for a chief justice minister and a president. He thanked Farris excessively for the gracious introduction that briefly explained his past and took hold of the microphone.

"That introduction will be hard to follow." Castor joked. "Hello and good day ladies and gentlemen. It is a pleasure to stand before so many of the brave men that defend this great nation and the kind individuals that uphold the american values. When I stand here before you, the american dream is very evident. Apple pie and white picket fences, baseball and nuclear families residing in close knit suburban families. Prosperity and success are certainly evident hear. Its a shame my family could not attend tonight. Unfortunately they were killed at Navarro nearly 40 years ago. But I am not here to mourn the past, oh no, I am here to celebrate the brave serviceman here tonight. Let us all congratulate the addition of approximately 300 new servicemen to the army of these United states." A chorus of applause followed that statement. "Before I begin giving out awards, I would like to take this opportunity to make an announcement. I will be following in my predecessors footsteps and pledging to reinstate a great deal of youth programs. I will be reinstating Girl guides, cadets, Beaver scouts, Cub scouts, and Scouts. I believe in giving our youth a head start. These programs will allow our youth to do just that.

I am so pleased that the nations capital has elected to stay with the Enclave. For if not for the capital, where would the soul of the nation reside. It is my hope that the virtues of this great american democracy be upheld. Liberty. Equality, and Happiness. It has often been my experience that those things are linked with education. That is why I am going to announce that from this point on, the military will pay for the education of recruits, in exchange for years of service. In recognition of the spirit of equality, the matter of Pittsburgh will be reviewed. Finally In recognition of the spirit of prosperity and liberty, I will be working towards a shared partnership with the free republic of the Mojave, an agreement that I hope will lead to a mutual benefit.

Well, there are a few more announcements, yet I know that you are all just waiting for the awards so I will get to the rest of the announcements later.

In honor of his pursuit to improving the local economy I hereby award Alistair Tenpenny with the Donald J Castor award for entrepreneurship.

In honor of his dedication to the pursuit of liberty and carpe-dium I hereby present Dukov with the Enclave libertarian award.

In honor of their dedication to the military I hereby present Col. Farris and Col. Winters the medal of honours.

In honour of their persistent efforts to restore fresh water to the capital of this great nation I here bye award the scientific teams responsible with the Daniel Bird award for scientific accomplishment. An award usually given to one person, but I believe we can make an exception here do to the unusual circumstances at hand.

Finally I present the Dick Richardson award for political service to the governor of the capital wasteland. But I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the 5 colonels in the capital for their hard work and devotion to keeping the peace here.

Thank you for your attention. It's been a pleasure to stand before the military, not just as your president, or as a captain in the military, but as an American. And as an American it is my duty to congratulate each and every one of you on your job well done in defending this great nation against those that would see it blown away like sand in the desert.

Before I go there is one more announcement I would like to make. In honour of our uniformed men and all Americans, I will be trying to restore medicine to this nation. It won't be easy but I will try my darnedest as your president to ensure that each American receives medical care in their time of need. Whether through private or public hands. Their will be Rx for all, as the old saying went.

Have a delightful day America. Keep up the great effort.

O'Neil certainly came in, but not out of fear of the command. The look on his face showed a mixture of annoyance and confusion at the fact that he found he couldn't raise his weapon in case he needed to defend himself and the seemingly overly bright lights which he was momentarily shielding himself from but quickly got adjusted to as he looked around and shivered in anticipation and discomfort & just general trepidation at the sight of floating robots with brains in jars, muttering to himself something about having finnaly found something worse than a robobrain as he stepped forward and considered seeing if he could communicate with these odd new creatures.

"I am not a 'lobotmite' whatever that is. At least I don't think I am as far as I know. *glances at the parts of his body where his scars would be if not covered up* Unless you mean to explain what all these surgery marks are that I found on my body when I woke up. I am Jack O'Neil and I don't recall needing surgery last I checked. So what is going on here? Does it have something to do with the fact that I cannot bring myself to shoot you right now? Cause I am really itching to at this moment. What the heck happened? I demand answers" he said sternly but calmly as if trying to scold a small child, his expression showing his grave disconcerting and scornful feelings about all this as he glanced between the various floating robot creatures. Sure they wouldn't be able to see it behind his mask, but he felt his emotions were probably strong enough for them to feel his unease and discomfort as he stared at them. Though his gaze was floating occasionally to the several doors on the second story behind them ever so briefly before staring at the beings again.

Donovan O'Reily

The man would be found sipping a latte in a quaint little coffeeshop in freeside, listening to whatever the latest transmissions from the radio on the nearby counter was broadcasting and glancing out a window at the hustle and bustle of daily life, muttering to himself about what he saw now and what he remembered it being like when he first arrived so long ago.

He had recently cashed in his bottlecaps and an assortment of other currency he had collected over the years, aside from a few bits he had framed or made into a collector's book of old currencies people no longer used. Given that he knew how to handle himself against most things and had taken down his fair share of pretty much anything and anyone that attacked him, especially those with currency in their pockets or with nice gear worth selling, he had naturally collected a fair sum of varying types over the years, now having been transferred into this new country's currency, with just a selection of NCR dollars still tucked away for a rainy day incase things went south hard for this place.

And yet, despite all this, he did not act entitled or like a snooty rich guy at all. Infact, aside from his fancy wear, which, given how easy assorted clothes were to come by back when he got it, makes it seem a bit less fancy and expensive, he didn't seem all that rich. He never waved around large wads of bills, He hardly ever acted like he was more important than other people unless he desperately felt he needed to, and he traveled around living in motels and hotels wherever he could. And when not, (as in the wilderness) he would sleep in the back of abandoned trailers or in the back seat of rusted out vans or whatever else he could find. As far as anyone was concerned, he was just a mysterious stranger in a nice looking set of clothes.
And given his dark past he was insistant on making sure that's how things stayed.

Anyone bothering to pay close attention to him would notice that anyone that got too close in a bad way or tried digging through his past would find themselves vanished or dead in a ditch somewhere with no evidence to directly tie the situation back to him.
He covered his tracks well and did his best to remain inconspicuous and keep people unaware of how wealthy he had become over the years.

Obadiah Blackhall: First of all, I request that the Syndicate send several bodyguards to my manor to defend me. I cannot wander around Point Lookout all I want, every night.

Obadiah Blackhall: Next, I suggest you add guards to Haley's Hardware, some to Maguriate's Shack, and perhaps some on the boardwalk as well. Also, (he takes out a bottle of ink and a feather, and dots a place on the map) This is where "Plik's Safari". I suggest you make a contract with Mr. Plik to let you use his "Safari" for training you're soldiers. You shoot useless feral ghouls to train, Simple, don't you think? Also...(dots another spot on the map) I know where we can hit the Swampfolk right in the head. We need to cut off their supplies.

Obadiah Blackhall: This here is called the "Trapper's Shack". It is used as a Swampfolk, or, should I say "Mutated Rednecks", as a storage base. It has a slightly heavy garrison. They also store some mutated creatures in the basement. 1 or 2 Swampfolk are located in the upper floor.

Obadiah Blackhall: Next, (dots another part on the map) this is called the Grower's Shack. The Swampfolk will have a heavy, heavy garrison to defend this area. This is most likely the main Swampfolk base in the region, as it is the most advanced place they could have. They have their main growing operation here, as they grow punga, which, as you know, and, I hope for you're sake you know how to grow it, punga is the main source of food in this place. The Swampfolk I presume eat it. When we occupy this, this should rather destroy the Swampfolk as a unifed power. After that, we just need to initiate a purge of the remaining Swampfolk. I wouldn't be surprised if the remaining ones attempted a assault on that lighthouse or the boardwalk or something ridiculous like that.

Obadiah Blackhall: What do you think?

Percy's eyes widened when President Castor announced that he and Colonel Farris would be getting a Medal of Honor for their service, but he also chuckled under his breath a little bit. He already got the Medal of Honor... granted, that was 206 years ago, but he still got it nonetheless, and after the atrocities committed in California, it didn't seem like he deserved it. Though, this wasn't the time to question accomplishment, rather celebrate them. When President Castor, the Military Personnel and Civilians alike began to roar and applaud, waving both the Pre-War U.S. Flag and the Enclave Flag. The old flag brought back memories, memories of home... of what the world used to be like. With his Son and his wife, whom he loved so dearly, and that have been gone for... for over two hundred years. Funny, he'd been out of Cryosleep since 2208, that's 75 years, and it's like he just saw them yesterday. Though constant thought didn't prevent their faces from fading from his memory, turning what used to be loved ones into blobs of pain stuck in his head...

CRACK!

Percy flinched as he watched President Castor snapped to the side, and then Colonel Farris, who was behind him, collapse onto the ground. It was complete and utter chaos, for more than a thousand civilians screamed and scrambled for safety. Percy was... frozen, but an Enclave Soldier pulled him onto the ground and used his power armor to shield the Colonel. Gunshots rang out, hitting the area around them, but Percy launched himself at the exposed Castor in an attempt to shield him. A crack sounded, and a stinging sensation ripped through Percy's thigh, and he collapsed on top of Castor. Looking up, Percy saw Colonel Farris laying on the ground, coughing up blood. He took a bullet... to the heart.

Percy grabbed Castor's arm and threw it around the back of his neck, then began to sprint to cover. Bullets hit all around them, but Percy got the President behind a wall. Soon after, Percy heard Enclave Weapons firing, and the sniper fire ceased. Medics were immediately tending to a dying Farris... but there was no hope.

As Jackson woke up he thought about the day, the day that his wife was killed by Vipers. He hated the vipers and always had, they took his crops and have stolen other supplies. As Jackson remembered the day he dreaded, he caught a Viper looting his footlocker, Jackson asked "Who are you, and why are you her-." before jackson could finish his question the Viper scout leaped at Jackson and pulled out his combat knife. The Viper dealt a good amount of damage before Jackson was able to pull out his 9mm pistol and shoot the raider. The Viper slowly slumped down to the ground, Jackson asked "Who sent you?'' "Th- The Mast-..." The Viper did not get to finish his sentence before he fell into eternal slumber. Jackson stared at the body and said "I will find who sent you and kill him" He took his supplies and decided to venture out into the wasteland.

Taliyn

It didn't take long for them to encounter troubles in the area. The first bridge they came across was rickety and took a lot of concentration and balancing not to fall off. Not to mention the fact that they had to go across it to avoid getting shot at by some tribals with machine guns, which naturally took them off guard cause who ever heard of guys in face paint and loincloths having guns? Eventually they got away, after mortally wounding several of them, and the rest being smart enough to realize trying to cross a rickety bridge and risking falling off was not worth a handful of people that didn't look wealthy enough to have anything good on them. By the time they got to the other side and got far enough away to get some distance and a few barricades between them and the people shooting at them, they settled down to check themselves and occasionally peak out to make sure they weren't being followed and to shoot out at the people when they thought they might be.

After a bit of settling down and no longer seeing anyone coming after them or anymore gun shots, they were given a bit of a breather and noticed that the samurai guy had been shot a few times.
His armor was clearly not build to withstand bullets. They did what they could with their supplies to remove the bullets and patch him up and then move on after a bit of a relaxing break to give them time to recupporate and give whoever was attacking them, time to give up and move on.

When they eventually decided to continue, Taliyn scouted ahead and to the side a bit to make sure no one was about to attack them. Including back over the bridge a bit to pick up anything the locals would have dropped and picking through the few corpses she could reach for whatever stuff they may have had on them. When she was finished on both sides of the bridge, scouting and examining and doing whatever she could to make sure no one was following them for the moment and that they wouldn't be shot again the moment they came out of hiding, they continued on their way. She made sure she and two of the others had machine guns and a few spare parts to repair them by the time they started up again as that's all the intact bullet shooting weapons she could find on the few corpses she found, most of the guns having been broken on impact with the ground and needing to be scrapped for spare repair parts.

Between all of them, they got a decent amount of bounty from the corpses and other things strewn about along the way. Including divvying up whatever random plants she found along the way that the others might find worth in. She knew the samurai would be interested but she wasn't 100% sure the rest would so she just let them help themselves to an appropriate amount or not, letting her find out who was interested in what and made sure to make a note of it as she scooped up the rest. Otherwise they seemed content to continue on their way.

Ameige wrote:It took just a brief conversation between the men in the group as Taliyn watched and occasionally adjusted her packs before finnaly, after quite some time, they were heading into the twisting, winding cave tunnels that led into zion canyon.
Many things were found along the way, including various harvestable cave plants and a few lootable corpses of people that had decided to trek forth on their own and perished in the caves in the process. As agreed, the majority of the loot was split amongst all of them, or more accurately the little bits that the others cared enough about to be interested in splitting. Otherwise she kept most of it to herself, taking various pictures in the process.

The trip took nearly a week and everyone with anything even remotely related to a flashlight scanning the corridors to light their way.
Suffice to say, her muscles were aching and she was trying to hold back a panick attack from the seemingly endless winding tight corridors by the time natural light started to seep into the corridors of the caves. Her tight lipped, solem reaction during the process portrayed her discomfort about the area.

Thus it was understandable that her reaction lightened slightly when there was verbal mention of their trip coming to an end and soon enough, with hands covering eyes and light making devices being placed back in the places they belonged, they eventually stepped out of the tightly packed narrow cave hallways, and into the momentarily blinding light of the setting evening sun and briefly distracted sounding words coming from their guide, it was clear they had reached their destination. They stepped out of the caves and onto the wavey grassy ground of the zion canyon. It took a bit of adjusting to the change in light, so much so that Taliyn decided to put on a pair of old world sunglasses she had found. Ones that fit her looks and personality perfectly and made her look even cooler and bad-ass than she already was. Then they set off into zion.
The initial leg of their trip caused them to pass by a few skeletons that looked relatively fresh for a skeleton's sake and appeared to have been in a fire fight. Taliyn's acknowledgement of this put the rest on alert as they examined the general area around the entrance for whatever bits of loot might be around. Suffice to say it wasn't much. It looked like the place had already been picked through by people that had come before them. So they just gathered up whatever little bits they could find and continued on.

Only time would tell what they would find and how far in they could get before someone or something attacked them and threw them from the pan into the fire as it were.

The trip though the long, dark canyon took about a week. It had been some time since Mahoney had navigated the path, but in the end, he successfully brought the group out the other end. Most of the journey was spent in relative silence, with the members talking to each other other enough to help each other through the treacherous terrain. Mahoney could tell that the girl was bothered by the cramped spaces, and while he made no comment to her, he was careful to avoid some of the more claustrophobic chambers along the way. When she looked like she was really having trouble, he would drop a word in Kenji's ear. Being the most respectful of the group, Mahoney figured that his help would cause the least distress for the independent child.

As the group passed a cluster of picked-over corpses, Taliyn observed traces of a gunfight. The observation seemed to put the group on edge.

Soon after entering Zion, their fears were realized.

After the ambuscade, Mahoney and the former Legion man tended to Kenji's wounds while Taliyn backtrack to ensure that they were not being followed. Mahoney had his reservations, but the girl was clearly capable, and had clearly taken on the responsibilities of an adult for some time.

While they waited for Tal to return, Mahoney tended to Kenji. The wounds were superficial, and it seemed that there was no organ damage. The big issue now was infection. Mahoney disinfected the wound sites as best he could, but he still worried. The wounds would have to be left open to drain, and disinfectant would have to be re-applied several times in a day. Hopefully, it Kenji would be out of the woods in about a week, but it would be day-to-day until then. If serious infection set in, the Japanese man would be screwed without access to antibiotics.

When Taliyn returned, it was not empty-handed. She had gathered three fully-functional machine guns, as well as some loot to be split between the group, and useful herbs. Mahoney took one of the MGs, and after checking the weapon over, he was again ready to move on. After all, he was just the hired guide here. Where they went was up to the others.

Once Kenjiro was momentarily repaired and the trade items Terin had brought back were split amongst them and examined for whatever reason, they continued warely along their way, making sure to do their best to keep an eye out for more of those evil people and avoid trouble when it was possible, which turned out not to be so easily said as done.

It wasn't long before they started encountering more issues. Having to maneuver around landslides and deep crags that had cropped up ever since the outdated map had been worth anything. Not to mention more than a few wild animals, which they had to chase off or assassinate to continue along their way. Kenjiro, having been patched up, was often the one to take the finishing blow to the larger creatures with his sword or whatever he was using.

So it was understandable that he was the first to go when a couple of his attacks missed during a fight with a yaoi guai and he went down hard from a few well placed claw swipes. It took a few well placed limb shots from Taliyn and a shot through the head by Mahoney as Augustus did whatever he thought was best. But in the end it was clearly for naught. The samurai had several deep gashes across his torso and a claw mark across his face. He didn't make it long enough to figure out how to fix whatever was wrong with him.
But more than long enough for whoever tried to help him to realize they would be unable to.
He bled out right there next to the dead bear.

After making sure he was truly dead she looted his corpse of everything except his armor, reminding the others when and if she was lectured about it that this was a virgin land and they would have to start accepting the concept of waste not want not or they would all end up dying here. Then she would flip through a pre-war book she had brought with her about different people and their customs, hoping there would be at least some semblence between the pre-war people and whoever they were going to run into now adays in zion. But more importantly figure out how to send the samurai guy on his way to heaven befitting whatever samurai religion she assumed he was part of and deal with it accordingly.

Percy flinched as he watched President Castor snapped to the side, and then Colonel Farris, who was behind him, collapse onto the ground.

Castor looked around, a sense of confusion had filled the air as the terrorists made there intentions clear, in blood. A long forgotten sense of shock cake upon him as Percy jumped in front to take a bullet for him and Farris began bleeding out, a gurgled coughing sound making its way out of the armour as he slumped to the ground. He accepted the assistance from Percy gratefully, and yet felt some sort of compulsion that he should be aiding Percy, for it had been percy who had been shot in the leg, not himself. As they reached cover, Castor looked up at the sky. It began to darken by an eclipse, so he lowered his gaze. "Thank you Col. Winters. You have my gratitude.
The vertibird sheltered them from attack on one direction, while a heavy object and stage defended them from 2 other directions, leaving only the way they came in vulnerable. "We should get to the virtibird." Castor pointed out looking towards it. The medics had already began to pack away the body of Farris in a shroud and carry it away, along with the bodies of other unfortunate soldiers and civvies. Castors soft heart prayed for them. Four soldiers made there way out to assist castor and Winters to the vertibird, much to castors gratitude.

It wouldn't be long in the vertibird before a highly difficult issue made itself known to the vertibird pilots. A solar flare had occurred during the eclipse. The enclave satellites were directly affected by the solar flare and have been shut down. The entire enclave was now without communication until the satellites come back online, if that happens.

Castor took winters to the presidential table in the vertibird and they sat down. Castor leaned back for a rest. To calm down, as the shock drained and the death of Farris sunk in. "Col. Winters, I couldn't help but notice your wound. Thank you for your courage. I will not forget it any time soon, I hope. Would you be willing to have the on-board doctor take a look for you? Perhaps they can administer a stimpack?"

Castor nodded, granting permission for the medic to look over himself. The medic immediately began doing his job, looking for wounds and whatnot. He found numerous bruises along castors body, and a clean bullet wound through the thigh. Having gone through Percy and then castor it appeared. Castor rested his head against the wall as they looked him over. "Percy. Will you be staying in the capital? Or would you like to return with me to the mojave. There is a noticeable lack of an ambassador so I must fulfill the role. Just as there is now an immediate need here for someone to fill the role of commander officer of the army in Washington, D.C. .

The communications officer looked to the pilot and whispered something. The 3 whispered back and forth for a few minutes before the radio operator/communication officer came into the presidents presence. "Excuse the interruption sir. Me and the pilots thought you'd like to know that Poseidonet is down sir. The satellites are offline sir." With that castor thanked him and the operator returned to his post.

New Vegas, The Tops

Near The Tops, a well-dressed man, named the Placewaiter Man was standing in a street corner, awaiting for the RP to pick back up.

Entering The Tops, he sat down at one of the seats, and told the waiter he wanted chicken noodle soup and some crackers. The Waiter brought him it, and he gave the Waiter some caps in return. He crushed the crackers in his palm and let them drop into his soup. he picked up the spoon..

"Hey, Bub." said a gangly looking man, dressed in grimy pre-war buisnesswear, as he walked out from the gambling room, with another man, a rather obsese man with raider armor who was holding a baseball bat. The Gangly looking fellow was holstering a police pistol in his pocket.

"I heard you were...trying to get the RP going, or so I've heard says the gangly man.

"Why do you care?" says The Placewaiter Man, trying to ignore his urge to grab his 357. Revolver, named Lucky and shoot both men down with it.

"We don't like you're kind around here." grunted the Obsese Raider, smacking the baseball bat into the palm of his hand.

"I suggest you...leave before this get's messy. says the Gangly-Looking man.

"No." says the Placewaiter Man, holding Lucky, hiding it in the sleeve of his dirty pre-war buisnesswear.

"Then yu'll get the BAT!- shouted the Obsese Raider, with his companion pulling out his police pistol, however, The Placewaiter Man drew faster then a Texas Ranger, opening fire at the Raider's chest, and then ducking behind his table to avoid the Gangly Man's gunfire.

Waiting, the Placewaiter Man said in his head, waiting for the Gangly Man to hoist his head out.

"Get up! We need another body here!" The Gangly Man's distinctive rattly voice spoke, most likely to his raider partner. The Placeholder Man could hear him walking up towards the table, and had a idea.

"He's behind here"- The Gangly Man uttered with his rattly voice, before suddenly having hot soup, a unexepected weapon, thrown in his face. Their was a reason why The Placeholder Man only ordered hot soup wherever he went.

BOOM! The sound of gunfire and screaming went off, as The Placeholder Man, narrowly avoiding a wing from the Raiders bat, jumped on the Raider's back, pointed Lucky at the raider's head, and pulled the trigger, several times. BANG! The Raider fell, his face nearly unrecognizable.

At that point, the Gangly Man had thrown the soup bowl off his face, though he was still screaming in pain. His face looked like it was about to burn off. the Gangly Man, attempting to avoid the soup still on his face from getting into his eyes, staggered back from 2 chest shots. The Gangly Man fell down, and The Placewaiter Man jumped on his chest, placing Lucky into his mouth, pulling the last shot out of it into his attackers mouth.

...

...

BANG!

The Placewaiter Man, stepped out of the gangly men's corpse, avoiding the raiders corpse as well.

"Sorry about the mess" putting some caps into the Waiter's hand. He then left, looking back at the dead corpses of the two men. They were members of a "Anti-Progress Crew" who opposed the idea of the RP going on...

Percy pondered the question but shook his head. "As much as I'd love to see Vegas after the war, I have a responsibility here"

Castor solemnly nodded before responding. "Fair enough. I would like to state a few things before I go, in that case. With Poseidonet out, I will be unreachable and as such I think it goes without saying that Daniel is now primarily in charge of the politics of the capital. However a proper municipal legal process may benifit and I'm not confident he will implement such a power hampering establishment. Secondly I would like you to hold high the torch Commander Farris held as chief commander of the capital wasteland. I'd appreciate it if you would take his place or fund someone capable of doing his job. But you have my faith as you've demonstrated yourself time and time again. Thirdly my vertibird might be sabatoged, if it is I could crash in some desert or irradiated jungle out there never to be heard from again. If that's the case, I'd like it noted that after a talk with an advisor I have determined my Vice President, a young and inexperienced gal named Taliyn, and she will take over as president. Finally I have been considering the prospect of independence of the capital wasteland, I am personally not against it. Freedom is what this nation was built on. But I cannot justify doing it after the people voiced there opinion in favour of staying with the enclave. So unless another poll is established giving support to independence, they should stay in the enclave. Do you have any questions Colonal Winters?

Percy nodded, confused. "Who's this Taliyn, woman? Young and inexperienced and you want to make her President? I cannot stress how ridiculous that sounds, and how corrupt as well. This isn't a dynasty, it's a democracy"

"One of the enclave commanders out west recommended her as a good candidate following the death of the Vice President. I will try and meet with her when I get back and determine if his recommendation was appropriate and if she can remain Vice President. You couldn't be more right however. It sounded very strange to me as well, but she had the support of the masses and that's what got her the recommendation, so I'm informed. I was all for an election before Poseidonet collapsed. Now I'm unsure how such a thing can be performed fairly without a means of safe transport of votes. If you or any other American citizen can provide such a method I would only be too happy to re-affirm my backing of elections. The very method for which I became president."

Percy nodded in agreement. "I might have a way to get Porseidonet back online, but you just let me handle that"

Taliyn and whoever was left after the samurai's funeral was finished, continued on their way deeper into zion canyon.
Over the many days it took them to get anywhere significant, many stops were taken either for pictures and just general astonishment of the scenery and the fact that anything like this gorgeous place was still left after the war, or just spots to rest and collect themselves and various things they found along the way, that they did their best to split amongst themselves for the most part, aside from the occasional item Taliyn wished to keep for herself.

Things such as animal parts, plants, and the occasional corpse of some other poor individual that didn't make it very far into the area, were looted as they decended the high up cliffs and started to puruse the valley below, doing their best not to get shot too much by the tribals with guns that seemed to come out of the woodwork as soon as they started getting close to the valley floor. They fought when they had to and hid or in some other way protected themselves from attack when they could. All of them completely unaware of what was going on in the outside world as they moved day after day,
through zion canyon's cliffs and down into the floor below.
