Argentine Foriegn Ministry Statement

The recent terror attacks have unfortunately demonstrated a troubling spike in instability and violence in Nusantara. While the Argentine Embassy in Jakarta cannot confirm yet if any Argentine citizens have been injured or killed, a plan is being made to repatriate all Argentine citizens in Nusantara. In the meantime, it is suggested any and all citizens of Argentina make their way to the Argentine Embassy in Jakarta or the nearest consulate for diplomatic assistance if necessary. Furthermore, it is advised that all Argentine citizens leave the country if possible due to the very high risk of follow-up attacks. It is suggested Argentine citizens make their way to the nearest safe country and report to the Argentine Embassy in that nation for repatriation flight tickets.

All non-essential travel to Nusantara should be avoided for the safety and health of one's self. While the information is still scarce, it's likely these attacks are merely the beginning of a wave of violence that will make visiting Nusantara exponentially more dangerous. If one does seek to visit the country, it is advised to dress modestly, wear a headscarf, and lay low and remain discrete at all times. The Argentine Government heavily discourages travel to Nusantara and suggests alternate travel plans be made. It is not known if the nation's airports and aircraft are safe, hence air travel through Nusantaran airports and on Nusuntaran aircraft should be avoided due to the likelihood of them being targeted for terror attacks.

Please be safe and use your best knowledge to remain safe and avoid danger. Failure to do so may result in bodily harm and/or death. Please ensure that you have travel insurance when visiting dangerous areas, and obey all local laws and customs. If possible, have a local guide for any area you visit to further ensure your safety and security when traveling abroad. Aboard the destroyer the Teruzuki, Captain Fukushima turned his attention towards the Senkaku Islands, of which his vessel was rapidly approaching. Along with the Asagiri and the Wakasa, they were escorting the JAPEX survey ship to conduct a search for oil near and beneath the islands. As the ships moved closer, Fukushima scanned the horizon, watching out for Chinese interference, but he was not worried. Lieutenant Ozaki joked to him, "The Shinajin cowards can't even protect a bridge, they won't dare to confront us out here. Even the sea lions are more menacing."

Fukushima grunted. "They will not confront us so far from home. Wait until we deploy off the Matsu Islands and maybe then they will send in their fishing boats! It only goes to show our continued naval supremacy, the weakness of the Chinese government, and their incapability. Although their claim to this land was never valid, they don't even try to stop us." He laughed. "We could seize the islands off Shanghai and they wouldn't do anything."

Okazi nodded looking out across the water to the JAPEX ship conducting its survey. "It is too bad the Chinese are too afraid to confront us, but at least we don't have Hokkaido patrol duty! It is freezing out there!" The men chuckled and continued watching out, relaxed but itching for a fight.

As the Empire of Japan has repeated before, it strongly denies the allegation that our current force redistribution is anything but a move towards further peace projection. Now, a certain imperialist regime seeks to undermine Japanese efforts towards peace across the Orient with its continued support to the fratricidal destabilization carried out by the illegitimate regimes in Keijo (Seoul), and Nanjing. The Empire stands ready to protect its people and allies from this threat, and urges the imperialist powers that seek to colonize the Orient for their own despicable means to stand down. The Empire of Japan urges the security forces in Australia to do their full duty to protect the Imperial Japanese Embassy, Japanese citizens, and the sizable portion of Nikkei diaspora in the country from violence.

Following recent attacks in Nusantara, the Empire urges its citizens return home immediately and avoid the country completely. Nikkei diaspora there are encouraged to return to the safety of the Empire, where suitable relief will be made available to returning refugees. The Empire however wishes to reaffirm its support for the colonized people of the world, as well as legitimate Muslim groups, in which the Empire has long had good relations with. The Empire wishes to promote peace in the Orient, and as such offers its support to the Nusantara government where it possibly can.

"Just two weeks ago, we passed a historic defense budget that will go down in history as the catalyst for peace and prosperity in the Orient. Now we must act in every way possible to take advantage of this. We now have more funds to not only expand our technological capability, but our numbers. After consultations with our commanders, we need a larger force. This of course will be gradual, and short of conscription, we cannot just pass a law to increase our numbers. That is why with backing from his Holiness, the Imperial Rule Assistance Association is putting forward the Readiness Act of 2021, to form a new component of the Imperial Army, Imperial Navy, and Imperial Air Force. This act will reform an Imperial National Guard, which will boost our wartime strength. With the new component, servicemen will only have to train on average one day a month, excluding training events, with the same incentives of military service. Pay may be low during peace, but the benefits, not to mention the glorious and dutiful service to his Holiness the Emperor is more than enough. This program will be most effective for former soldiers just ending their service, but will be open to all who seek to serve for honor and glory."

He continued, "Further the act will authorize the Imperial Armed Forces to expand recruiting quotas to allow for as many as 2 million in the National Guards and as many as 500,000 more in additions to active and reserve numbers. Whether we get to that many depends on the people, however I am confident in the people who seek to do their patriotic duty to our glorious Empire to preserve peace in the Orient."

A flight of MiG-29s providing escort as their transport aircraft made its final approaches to the city's international airport. Across ornate bridges spanning the city's rivers. Much of Saint Petersburg had retained its old flair of architecture and layout. With newer aesthetics of the 20th and 21st centuries located more on the periphery. As if to consciously not ruin the dream like landscape of buildings whose stonework, facings, and gildings brought them right off the pages of a Napoleonic and Victorian era novel.

Upon pulling up to the gates of the Winter palace guards of the Semyonovsky Regiment. In Parade regalia of dark near black uniforms. Contrasting to the brighter blue-green of the Preobrezhansky. Their secondary colors more golden with the only matching fabric being their red facings. Distinguishing them as soldiers of the Imperial Guard. Further, their shoulder boards bore the stylized Cyrillic monogram of the Tsarina. For all intents and purposes these were her soldiers, and indeed in the oaths of the Imperial Guard they swore allegiance to a person first and to a motherland second.

There, upon exiting their vehicles, they were faced with the imposing domicile of the Winter Palace itself. Its green-white stonework, gold filigree, ornate carvings, and amber reliefs speaking of the wealth and opulence of Russia's natural resources. The heavy gilded doors yawning open to reveal a line of staff in clean pressed servants wear bowing their heads in respect. For across from them and giving a curtsy, was the Empress herself. Who, in an obvious display of being personable, and gracious for the Australian delegations long flight, had come to receive them in person.

"Welcome to Russia, Mister President, Foreign Minister. Addressing both men in turn. I hope your flights were not too taxing?" commented the young Tsarina with a small smile. A disarmingly mundane comment for one of her stature to be sure. Not that anyone would gainsay her on that.

When you are the Speaker of the House of Representatives, you tend to be able to take advantage of a few perks. Things like book deals, paid appearances, and more. Things that make it very easy to afford lavish privates jets like the one Noor Patel owns and uses to fly to her diplomatic destinations. Often on the taxpayer dime. This is most certainly one of those times. Having been born in India, she is firmly acquainted with traveling over the Pacific. A flight she takes so often that she doesn't even bother to look out and enjoy the scenery any longer. Her plane descends towards Tokyo. The Ministers of Japan believe that she was sent by President Horowitz to meet with them. In truth it was her, and Vice President Dolonescu's decision that she would make this visit. They keep up appearances but Horowitz hasn't made an actual decision since he took office. The plane touches down and she walks out onto the tarmac. The Japanese have of course sent delegates to greet her. Although Speaker Patel is never one to bow, as is the custom in Japan. She shakes their hand instead, just one of many ways she likes to establish how she believes that she is always in control. They inform Speaker Patel that the meeting with the Minister will occur tomorrow. And so the delegates show her to the hotel where she and her secret service detail will be staying, in the meantime.

An intern drops the last of five stacks of paper onto Rep. Hawk's desk. Each stack is nearly three reams worth of paper tall, covered in lawyer speak front and back. The intern was winded just carrying them in. Although he was more than happy to do it. Rep. Hawk, being one of the very few congressmen who actually pays his interns, has the luxury of staff members that are dedicated to a fault. Hawk begins flipping through the first few pages and sighs with a shake of his head.

Hawk: "This is absurd. How can anyone write this nonsense let alone expect people to read it?"

Intern: "I don't know Mr. Hawk. I read the front page while I carried it, and it read like gibberish."

Hawk: "And you have a pre law degree! You can't expect the people to know the law if it takes a masters degree to understand it. That's all for now, go take a lunch. I'm gonna get to reading. I have a long night ahead of me."

The intern heads out and Hawk takes a seat in his large, firm leather chair. He pulls the first ream sized chunk of paper closer to him to start reading. Each page disgusts him more than the last. Another new spending bill, just a week since the last one was pushed through congress. Nearly fifty trillion dollars in new spending, most of it going into the pockets of friends and family of several representatives and senators. with a pittance going to increasing the nation's education and literacy to put this under the guise of massive educational reform. Hawk new another livestream was going to come out of this. He was happy that this would help him in the polls but he hated how blatantly deceitful these politicians were being. It made him literally sick to his stomach. Before he knew it the light stopped funneling in through the windows of his office. He reached forward towards his desk lamp and flipped the switch. The light flickered twice before turning on. This, being an almost brand new lamp concerned Hawk. He got up and turned on the ceiling light in the office before coming back and turning off the lamp. He took off the shade and began inspecting the lamp. He turned the light bulb to tighten it, thinking maybe it was loose. But no matter how much he turned it, the bulb just kept spinning. So insteand he turned it the other way, unscrewing it and pulling it out of the lamp. His eyes are filled with rage when he discovers a small black and silver disk inside. the black side having perforation indication that it was a microphone. someone had bugged his office. He pulled the bug close to his mouth and spoke clearly, in an enraged tone.

Hawk: "Tell Patel I found her bug. And that she better start getting her damage control team ready."

Hawk slammed the bug into his desk, punching it to smash it into pieces. He then pulled his phone out and called his chief of staff, knowing that he had to start getting to word out.

Angela climbs in and waits for Koji to get in.

"Our empire wishes to purchase 2,000 T-90 tanks, 50 BM-27 Uragan systems, 6 S-400 systems, 50 Kamov Ka-50 helicopters, 4 Ivan Gren-class landing ships, and 500 BTR-80s. On behalf of the Empire of Manchukuo and the Reorganized Republic of China, we would also wish to purchase 120 BM-21 Grads, 40 Raptor patrol boats, and 6 Project 22160 patrol ships. Regarding the T-90s, we would wish for them to be modified with a 120 mm main gun for logistical reasons, but aside from that, there is nothing else." He paused. "I suppose we should talk price, unless there is any issue with what we seek to purchase?"

In the war room was a chatter of excited discussion among the commanders, as today was something more out of the ordinary. At the request of the Minister of the Army, officers from the secretive Chuchun Sabotage Unit, dubbed the modern Kwangtung Army had arrived to meet with regular commanders. Among these officers were Manchus, Koreans, and Japanese, all tasked with the more shadowy operations in China and Korea. As an asymmetric force, these commanders excelled in unconventional tactics, and today they were here to present their operational planning.

Top on the agenda today was the terror attacks in the Nusantaran Federation, however a much different take than most other militaries would have.

Field Marshal Yamazaki began the meeting. "General Shimeta Honjo, Lieutenant General Xi Zhishan, and other Kwangtung Army officers, welcome back to the homeland. Our commanders are interested in hearing your thoughts. As you all already know, there were multiple attacks carried out in the Nusantaran Federation recently by a group called the Islamic Defenders Front. Since only a very small number of Japanese citizens live in the Nusantaran Federation, it is not too much of our military's concern. At least, that was until General Honjo sent word his staff at the Kwangtung Army have formulated plans around this."

All eyes turned to General Honjo who smiled. "Well gentlemen, we in Manchukuo have found these recent developments to be very interesting. The Islamic Defenders Front has expressed its opposition to most major countries, including ours, however they have also called out China and Korea. That is where we see our opportunity. There was some muttering around the room before Field Marshal Yamazaki called for silence.

General Honjo continued. "While simple analysis of their attacks show relatively low tech attacks, in recent years, drone warfare has come into play more and more. In fact, modern long range drones possessed by terror groups in the middle east now have ranges up to 1,500 miles or more. So it wouldn't be out of the ordinary if a terror group like the Islamic Defenders Front were to launch one for strikes on a country it so despises..."

Marshal Admiral Yamaguchi cut in, "What are you proposing?"

General Honjo nodded. "We plan to launch a drone strike, consisting of two drones to hit Zhanjiang, targeting their naval base and South Sea Fleet Headquarters located there. Should the strike prove successful, it will damage their response capabilities in the South Pacific, allowing us to launch Operation Tsusho. If it isn't successful, it gives us a front row seat to watch their response capabilities, in order to better plan for Operation Ihyo. So in this sense, either option is favorable, although I am confident by flying low and early enough, the drones will go completely undetected by radar at least. It is too bad Shanghai wasn't feasibly in range for an 'Nusantaran Insurgent' drone, but this is our best option."

General Tojo nodded. "What type of drone do you intend to use? Of course we can't just use a Japanese drone."

Honjo grinned. "We have made a 'new' drone just special for this. The drones are mostly made from parts from the CSR. They have been painted with the Islamic Defender Front emblem on the wings, and has been intentionally beaten in a bit to not seem so new. The drones have been equipped to carry two 500 pound bombs, and are equipped with a 250 pound warhead to be used in a suicide attack."

"Why are they made from some Chinese parts?" asked Yamaguchi.

Honjo nodded. "I expected that question. We have built two more drones. We spent less on them, but they will be launched at the same time towards Taiwan in an apparent attack against us. We will coordinate to shoot them down and once recovered, we will 'discover' that parts are made in China. The government will then have the option to denounce China for supporting the terror group and deny the attack on them as a fake to draw away attention. An in one instant, we will have the civilian government willing to actually consider the prospect of Operation Ihyo. Or better yet, the Chinese will back down from their positions."

Yamazaki smiled. "You are just like your great-grandfather. But what happens if the Chinese don't lash out?"

Honjo laughed. "They will. And before our people and the international community, we will show the Chinese as the aggressor. Then we can make our move."

A junior officer interrupted, "Sirs, are you sure this is favorable? We are not nearly ready for all out war. A conflict with China will bring in Korea eventually."

Yamazaki gave a curt nod. "Yes that is understandable. But this operation will be relatively small, with plausible deniability. It may incite tensions, but not bring us into open conflict. We are being forced into a situation which we cannot bear. The Koreans are getting strong. The Chinese outnumber us in men 20 to 1! Their fleet is growing. The Australians support the Communists. We can no longer call on the Americans for help, nor the Europeans, even the Russians who just want peace at all costs. The British are our greatest hope, but even they may abandon Hong Kong. We are being boxed in. This operation will act to hurt the Chinese capability, so that we may maintain our dominance, and that British Hong Kong stays open and secure."

There was some clapping in the room as the commanders echoed their support for the plan. As it died down, Honjo spoke again.

"We will execute the operation on the 30th in the very early morning. The drones will take off from a special Manchukuoan freighter that will be near Nusantaran, to give the impression that the attack was launched from there. The drones targeting Taiwan will be launched first, in an easily observable path. The ones targeting Zhanjiang will fly just above the waterline, to avoid radar detection. The drones targeting Taiwan will be shot down, and then the ones attacking Zhanjiang will proceed. One will target their naval base, bombing the new destroyers Kunming and Changsha. The drone will then proceed to launch a suicide attack on the base's fuel stocks. The drone targeting their headquarters will drop its bombs on the building, before diving in as well. If done correctly, it will damage their capability, and set them back several months. The time is specifically chosen due to the fact most personnel will not be at headquarters or manning their ships, minimalizing their casualties. They will not be expecting an attack. As much as I would like to sink their ships, the hope is that the bombs will just damage the ships, and not sink them, however that is not guaranteed."

Yamazaki gave a grim grin. "Good work. Now I expect you to do your full duty to execute the operation."

"Thank you sir. I will not fail to deliver." was the reply from Honjo.

From the SS Kaihen, a freighter secretly owned by the Kwangtung Army, two modified drones were launched, on a flight path towards Japanese Taiwan. These were armed, and bore distinct markings of the Islamic Defender Front. However, these flew in a straight path and high enough to be easily detectable by radar, although the commanders in Taiwan had already been tipped off and were prepared to launch F-15J jets to intercept once it entered into Japanese airspace.

Less than 30 minutes later, as the freighter moved towards a more suitable launch point, the true operation began as two more similar drones took off, this time headed towards a real target, Zhanjiang. These drones flew low, just a few meters above the water, with the hope that by flying so low, they would completely avoid radar detection. The circumstances were favorable to them. It was dark, late, and the Chinese would not be expecting such an attack, or an attack at all.

The drones now began their 3 hour journey towards China.

The two drones now crept into Chinese airspace after moving past Hainan, where Lieutenant General Zhishan and several regular commanders watched, ready to observe a Chinese response - or celebrate their success.

Within several minutes the drones began to gain altitude, and began their separate attacks. One would begin bombing the new destroyers Kunming and Changsha before launching suicide strike on the base's fuel stocks. The other drone would target the South Sea Fleet Headquarters, aimed at knocking the building out.

On Hainan, Zhishan and the other commanders waited, tense to see the result, while in Taiwan, the two drones there were located and destroyed. By the next day, the results would determine how the military and the unknowing civilian government would move forward.

An Independent party won the election, with 52 percent of the vote. The candidate who won is named Georgios Karatzaferis won the election. He has tried to run for the council before but lost. Presidential Statement on Jakarta Bombings

SINGAPORE - President Naomi Yassin has made an official statement regarding the recent terrorist bombings in Jakarta, West Java. The bombings took the lives of 54 people and caused numerous injuries to both survivors and infrastructure. They were carried out by the Islamic Defenders Front (BPI), an Islamist lobby group that was banned by the current government back in 2020. Mrs. President has made it clear that any such attack shall no longer be tolerated and that there will be consequences for any group or individual that commits such act in the future. Police Arrests Bombing Suspects

JAKARTA - Police in Jakarta has recently arrested six individuals that are believed to be behind the recent bombings during a raid. The raid occured at 10:50 (10:50 a.m.) today. The suspects are currently detained at a nearby police station in the city and the police continues to be on high alert. The house where the suspects resided was searched through and the police found damaging evidence such as explosives, guns, certain clothings, a map and numerous videos made by the BPI. Mrs. President has yet to respond to the raid, although locals have celebrated it as a sign of triumph over terrorism and thanked the police for it shortly thereafter. However, the police believe that more people could be behind the bombings.

The first was to implement and uphold Sharia in our country, which means that certain liberties would be sacrificed. The second was to lift the ban on the group, which would allow it to continue numerous activities that heavily amount to hate speech. The fourth, and the most outrageous of them all, was to remove me from office, which is just because I am a woman. I find these demands to be outright xenophobic, sexist and extremist. These demands were made to encourage and enable suffering, just as the BPI wished. Neither me or our people would ever pander to the BPI, the Jemaah Islamiyah or any other Islamist organization that exists on our soil. I highly encourage you, citizens of Nusantara, to stand up to terrorism and encourage harmony. We will not give in to terrorists and they shall never win. We will no longer tolerate terrorist attacks and there will be consquences for those who would try to carry out such act in the future. He unclasped his hands and allowed his fingers to lightly drum on his desk, "Is there a problem?" he asked, noting the few looks between the men.

Should the Empire disapprove and intervene it would prove disastrous, moving nearly double the amount of troops, vehicles, artillery, and aircraft into the region and to the lines in the last week is a provocation enough by us, shouldn't that be enough of a message?" One of the men said.

"It might be, but gentlemen, you are all officers of the Ukraine, the Ukraine is at war, should victory not be your first concern? This rebellion has been allowed to go one for seven years now, at this rate children will become adults without knowing a united Ukraine. We must end this. Lowering the file to the table the General continued, "Other systems would be shorter due to less vehicles being requested. As for ships, we'd be building from scratch so expect reasonable time tables for that." The morning of May 19th, while the results of the talks between Kozuki and Lavrov were being finalized for his review, the Prime Minister of Russia looked at an official dispatch from the Ukrainian President. "Kiev isn't really going to do something overt?" A rhetorical question to be sure.

Shoygu sat back in his chair and crossed a leg. "Her Majesty is aware that Kiev will be backed into a corner with the only avenue being to claw their way out. Donbass will go hot, maybe even drag us in officially." Putin leaned forward, "That is the point. Ukraine is isolated. America is collapsing on itself. Western Europe is idle to their woes. Too busy fighting their bush wars. No one wants a war. But as I've been saying for the past six years. Those rebellious oblasts wish to be apart of Russia and I am more than welcome to oblige." The comment leaving the Defense minister nodding in silent contemplation for a moment.

"I will notify General Belisarion to put all troops on alert in the surrounding area."

Anti-immigrant Bill Approved by Parliament

Prime Minister smiled towards the Speaker and said, "As I am sure you are aware, I have asked you here to discuss cooperation and security, including our plan of $20 billion in debt forgiveness. I think that should be first on the agenda naturally... Our offer is meant to help rejuvenate the American economy to promote stability, and as a way to boost the world economy. In that sense, it is straight forward enough. However, I am sure you understand the deeper intentions behind this. Japan cannot afford for the United States, the balance to Russia, Soviet China, and Communist Korea to be weakened. So we are willing to discuss enlarging our debt relief if that is required, or cooperation in other realms. What do you think?"

Speaker patel took her seat at the table, flanked by two secret service agents. She replies with a firm, but almost motherly tone in her voice. "I think you must be mistaken, Prime Minister Suga. The American economy is as strong as it has ever been. But," she pauses, putting a hand up as if to halt the Prime Minister from replying just yet. "I understand your concerns fully. Right wing lunatics have been making a mess in our streets lately. But our dear President Horowitz will be introducing legislation soon to help with that. You have no need to concern yourselves with the strength of our nation. We spend more in our military funding than all of Africa has money. But, I think I see where all of this is leading. If you are asking for our military support, just ask." Speaker Patel stared at the Prime Minister firmly, knowing that deep down these measure might have been about Japan's recent movement of troops under the explanation of 'peace projection.'

Prime Minister Suga gave a small grin. "It seems you have been able to decipher our real intentions. Japan wishes to maintain good relations with the United States, and as such, we wish to show that in this economic manner. Our Empire has recently become threatened more and more by China and Korea, so we have been forced to take steps to ensure peace on our terms in Asia. We do not really seek direct American support in our aims, but rather non-intervention. We would be very grateful for American assistance, but are completely fine if it is only though military related transactions and economic means." He paused and looked towards Minister of the Army, Field Marshal Yamazaki.

Yamazaki nodded. "Our only intentions are to keep the balance in Asia, in order to ensure peace and the collective security of the democratic nations of the Pacific. In fact, among our top military circles we are considering actions to limit the communist influences and expansion, some actions in which may be seen in the coming days..." He paused. "What we really wish to discuss is what Japan can do to ensure that America doesn't have any issues with our actions, and if possible, how we can cooperate on these matters."

A curt smile grew on Speaker Patel's mouth. She paused to think for a moment before replying. "You are asking, the most interventionist nation of the past century, to run a blind eye to this potential conflict. You might as well ask a bird to stop flying. But, I do think this can be arranged. Provided you are willing to properly negotiate." She paused and watched their reactions. Waiting just a moment before pushing forth a bold assertive demand as the negotiating starting point. "I want full debt clearance and a guarantee of a renegotiation of our trade agreements." Her disposition suddenly shifts into a more pleasant and playful one. "Then, we will have too much wealth to manage to possible concern ourselves with yet another conflict."

Prime Minister Suga nodded, his disposition now very serious. "You drive a hard bargain. Renegotiation of our trade agreements is easy enough, it is the debt clearance that is more difficult. Japan owns the majority share of American foreign debt, and 1.28 trillion dollars is rather significant." He paused, considering his options. "What I can do is set forth a plan to clear it completely over the course of 40 years, meaning a debt relief program of $32 billion a year, conditional upon the American agreement to remove its tariffs on Japanese goods, and an agreement for uninhibited trade throughout the course of any conflict. Japan could come in need of American scrap metal, oil, and weapons in the coming war, making for some good American profit. But I suppose my most significant request would be that during the course of any conflict, America not make any weapon sales to China or Korea."

Speaker Patel's smile persisted. She considered the proposal and thought it grander than she had expected the counter offer to be. But she knew how to squeeze like no one else. And she intended to do just that. "I believe this can be agreeable on all counts. I need only one further stipulation be agreed upon. Weapon sales to China and Korea can be barred, but we must not allow for a disruption in our industrial ties. I would like a guarantee that no civilian vessels traveling between the United States and China be disrupted. If you can agree to that, then we have an accord. And I will have a signed executive order from President Horowitz sent to you within the week."

Prime Minister Suga glanced towards the Minister of the Army, Field Marshal Yamazaki who then turned to speak. "Well I am not sure if we can guarantee that entirely. We can agree to not harm or detain your civilian vessels, but war zones are very tricky. It would be irresponsible for us to allow a civilian vessel into a combat zone or a minefield, so we would wish to redirect the vessel or have it wait until the situation improved. I also cannot promise that the location your ships would be traveling to would not be targeted. Of course, with precision munitions this can be mostly avoided, but I will admit, some of our allies, due to budget restrictions, employ the wide use of unguided munitions, which could put your vessel in danger if in a targeted port. What I can offer is a guarantee that no civilian vessels will be harmed or detained by the Imperial Japanese Navy. It would be appreciated however if you would send information of such movements in advance to avoid an accident.

As Yamazaki spoke, one of Suga's aides whispered to him, "Sir, executive orders can be overturned by the American congress or courts, the American offer is fragile."

Suga nodded and whispered back. "I do understand that. Our war will only last a few years at most, and we aren't turning over the relief all at once, so it wouldn't be a complete loss if overturned. It does mean we have to act quickly, or support the democratic candidate next election year."

The aide nodded.

As Yamazaki finished Suga turned back to the Speaker. "If our counter is acceptable, then we will have a deal."

"It will have to do. Just please remind your allies of the fickle nature of the American people. A civilian vessel being lost to military action would cause quite a stir among them. They have called for us to go to war over less. Otherwise, we are agreed." A brief silence hangs in the air, "If there is nothing else that we must discuss, I shall take my leave. President Horowitz will be informed of this agreement the moment I return. Have a wonderful evening gentlemen." Speaker Patel stands slowly and begins to head out of the room flanked by both of her Secret Service agents. On of them whispers in her ear as they are walking. Causing Patel to stop in her tracks and quietly say "That motherfucker!" in an enraged tone. The three of them suddenly start to move more quickly heading out of the building and driving immediately towards the airfield.

As the Americans left, Yamazaki hustled back to his office. Seeing General Honjo he grinned. "We have been successful in our bribe to the Americans. Operation Inazuma is clear to commence.

Accusations of Wrong Doing

Over the course of the day United States Representative Elliot Hawk has been on a tirade. Appearing on network shows, live streams on several platforms, as well as putting his story on every source of social media he can. By noon, the memes had taken hold and even with several social media sites attempting to ban discussion of this active story in an attempt to prevent the spread of misinformation, the topic had taken a sudden and firm hold in the national debate. Congressman Hawk publicly accused Speaker Noor Patel, and the Democratic party of using a bug in his office to spy on his activities. Congressman Hawk has labeled Patel and the Democratic party as traitors to the Union, and even filed for both criminal and civil legal action against them. The national debate and discussion among the people was already reaching a boiling point. This has only inflamed the issue even further. Speaker Patel has made a single public statement through her social media, denying the accusations and condemning Congressman Hawk for them. She has also called for an immediate vote for impeachment on the grounds of inciting violence against the freshman congressman. An action that has spurned more anger and aggression on both sides of the political aisle.

An Unfortunately Timed Announcement

President Charles Horowitz had signed an executive order handed to him by both Speaker Patel and Vice President Dolonescu, regarding the new agreements with the Empire of Japan. He announced the very favorable terms to this agreement, including the lowering of the national debt, even to the extent of total exoneration from the United States' debt to Japan within the next forty years. And with the promise of new and more favorable trade deals coming with the Empire soon. However, even with news as favorable as this, it is over shadowed both by further spending bills announced. As well as the topic of Speaker Patel and Congressman Hawk's public feud and potential legal action. President Horowitz tries hard as he might to keep the press conference on topic, explaining the new spending bill as an effort to bolster the military. Talking about spending six hundred billion on large production of the newly successful F-35s stealth variant. But his efforts are in vain as every question asked remains solely on the topic of the potential spying by the Democratic party on Republican contemporaries. The interruptions by the media, and their refusal to let the topic go, causes a sudden and uncharacteristic outburst by President Horowitz. His expletive filled and anger fueled rant is aired live on television. for all of the nation to see.

A Solemn Announcement

The previous five days are filled with ever growing turmoil. Riots break out in almost every state capitol. Left and Right wing protestors clash violently in every major city in the union. And today, President Horowitz stands before a room of reporters to speak to them on the growing animosity caused by the antagonistic feud between Speaker Patel and Congressman Hawk, as well as the anger created by his live outburst.

President Horowitz: "My fellow Americans. I have betrayed your trust. I have hurt many of you with my words. And I have failed as your President. I cannot in good conscious, continue serving as the leader of this great nation. Effective immediately, I hereby resign from the position of President of these United States. I thank you for the honor of serving you. And I am sorry again for my failures. I leave you in the hands of my Vice President, Maeve Dolonescu. A woman that I firmly believe shall perform better than I ever could have. Thank you for your time, and God bless America."

Horowitz leaves the White house with his head held down in shame as Maeve dolonescu is sworn in as the new President of the United States of America on live television. She immediately gives a speech of her own, the moment after taking the Oath of Office.

President Dolonescu: "I am sure you have many questions and concerns. My predecessor left me with quite the mess to clean up. I would like to assure you that I will get the job done. As proof, with my first official act as President, I will be returning to the Oval Office this very afternoon and signing an executive order to end these riots by the end of the week. The National Guard will be mobilized and will be given authorization to use full force to quell these riots. I will be hereby declaring all of these treasonous, vile, right wing attempts at harming the sanctity of this nation as acts of terror. And we shall henceforth be treating them as we treat acts of terror. With the full force of the United States Armed Forces. Thank you."

It has been almost three weeks since a series of bombings killed 54 people in Jakarta. Authorities are still on high alert and people remain paranoid about future attacks. However, the authorities are slowing down, knowing that any future act of terror might not happen. Or were they wrong?

People were shopping at Sarinah, a 15-floor shopping mall in Jakarta. Some were shopping for clothes, some were shopping for food and some were shopping for other necessary stuff. People there seems to go through with their daily routines as usual, despite the recent bombings.

However, at 10:40 (10:40 a.m.), six cars blew up outside Sarinah. The explosions were violent and casualties ensued. Some people were killed, while some other people were severly injured. Only a few minutes later, gunfire occurs inside the mall. Four men armed with AK47s were gunning down both shopping people and mall staff, including security guards, without complete mercy. The gunmen managed to kill 30-40 people, as well as injure numerous other people. Some people are then taken hostage inside a Burger King.

30 minutes later, local law enforcement arrived with a big SWAT team sent in to deal with the gunmen. As soon as the team entered, the gunmen opened fire and the team responded back. The team managed to take down two of the gunmen, while the other two are still inside Burger King with many hostages. The SWAT team arrived at the Burger King and began telling the other gunmen to let go of the hostages. The gunmen refuses and one of them fires his AK47 into the roof of the Burger King, thus alarming the SWAT team.

Two hours go by while the police negotiates with the remaining gunmen. As time goes by, some hostages are released and escorted out of the mall. The gunmen, however, become restless and began to demand that the SWAT team retreats or the remaining hostages would be killed. One SWAT officer, who is right beneath one of the Burger King's windows, throws in a flashbang. The flashbang goes off, blinding both the hostages and one of the gunmen. The blinded gunman is shot dead by the SWAT team, while the last gunmen flees and locks himself inside a public restroom. After the remaining hostages are rescued, the SWAT team goes in to confront the remaining gunman. As they tell him to get out and surrender, the man says "Allahu Ackbar" before blowing himself up inside the restroom, prompting the SWAT team to fall backwards from the ensuing explosion.

The entire ordeal lasted from 10:40 (10:40 a.m.) to 13:55 (1:55 p.m.), which is a total of three hours and fifteen minutes. Aside from the four gunmen, a total of 60 innocent lives were taken that day. 12 were killed outside the mall, while 48 more were killed inside the mall. On the other hand, a total of 90 people survived with severe injuries. Police locked down the area and emergency medical services were sent to transport the injured survivors.

Just as the ordeal ended, another broadcast is made by Muhammad Rizieq Shihab.

"Dear citizens of Nusantara, it has happened again. Innocent lives were taken because your infidel government refused to go through with the four demands that I laid out two weeks earlier, as well as a new demand to release the six men who were arrested for the bombings that killed 54 people. I plead with you to go through with those demands and drop any faith in your illegitimate leader. If these demands are accepted, then no more attacks will occur. But if they are not accepted, then my warriors will strike again. I swear to Allah that it will happen again if the demands are not met. Allahu Ackbar."

Recent Attack on Shopping Mall

JAKARTA - A recent terrorist attack has been carried out at Sarinah, a very tall 15-floor shopping mall in Jakarta, West Java. This comes just almost three weeks after the recent bombings that rocked the city with a total of 54 deaths. Mrs. President has yet to make a statement on the matter, but people were left shocked by the event and more began to call for justice.

Cuban ambassador to Japan, Miguel Angel Ramirez Ramos, had scheduled his meeting with his Japanese counterparts today, and he hoped that he could talk at least some sense into them. He knew all too well of the region’s instability, and knew that Japan’s reckless actions would certainly anger others in the region, maybe, as Miguel feared, even causing war to break out. He spoke to one of his aides.

“I hope these talks prove fruitful. If it doesn’t, I’m afraid we may have to resort to other avenues of keeping the peace.”

“Such as what?”

“We might have to cooperate with Korea and Australia to keep Japan in check. Their reckless military actions threaten to cause the entire region to be consumed by war. I’m not sure how much longer we are going to be able to tolerate it.”

“Good news, Mr, President. Your tax bill has passed the House and is on its way to the Senate.”

“Excellent. I look forward to further news. So is there anything else to report?”

“The Bayamo frigate has set sail, making its way to patrol the strait between us and the Yucatán Peninsula.”

Meanwhile, 8 miles off the western coast of Cuba...

The Bayamo sailed at around 5 knots headed south, with the crew up and about. One of the crew members watched with binoculars towards the west, on the lookout for any other vessels. Just then, he spotted a tiny raft in the distance, then another and another. “Huh?,” the sailor exclaimed, as he began to make his way to the bridge. Once there, he reported to the captain.

“Three unmarked vessels have been spotted to the west.”

“Huh? What vessels?”

“Im not sure, they’re too far away to tell.”

“Hmm...alright, we’ll turn the ship starboard,” he says, making his way to the steering mechanism.

A little while later, the Bayamo had gotten closer to the three rafts, which harbored around 20 people each. “What in God’s name,” the captain said upon the sight of them. The rest of the crew had gathered on the ship near the rafts. One of the people on the raft cried out to them.

“Help us!”

“Where are you from,” one of the crew shouted back.

“Belize.”

“Belize?”, one of the crew members asked another crew member. “Situation over there must be getting worse.

“Alright, stay where you are, I will speak with the captain,” shouted a crew member, who made his way to the bridge.

Nearly 60 Belizean Refugees Found Off Coast of Cuba

The Cuban Navy has reported that nearly 60 refugees, claiming to be from Belize, have been spotted off the Cuban coast. They are currently in the custody of the Navy, and they have all been reported to be healthy. How many of these refugees were children has not yet been released by the Navy. The discovery comes amid the growing separatist movement in Belize, which has been under British control for decades. Cuban President Julio Chavez Fierra had called for an independence referendum in the territory in the past, and he is expected to make a statement on this relatively soon. We will bring more updates as they come.

This was no peace. Only an 80-year truce.

With the passing of the Emergency Defense Act passing in the Japanese Diet, alarm bells were already being set off in China. When Japan was forced to limit its army strength following the end of the Second World War, the level of benign neglect was replaced by widespread fear of a resurgent Imperial Japan. Indeed, memories of the Nanjing Massacre have yet to be forgotten in the public consciousness, especially when Chinese history education placed as much emphasis on Japanese war crimes and the Eight-Year War of Resistance as the Warring States period and the Century of Humiliation. There was no rejoicing at all when General Secretary Xi Jinping called for two million volunteers in preparation for a Japanese attack. No laughter when the government officially declared a state of high alertness. (Defcon 4). There was only grim determination in the country as everyone had the accept the fact that the entire continent may go up in flames.

Yet mothers hugged their sons, husbands hugged their wives, while the elders fondly remembered the days of Deng and peace. But time waits for no one, not even for someone as powerful as Xi Jinping. Already, diplomatic channels in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were soon buzzing with activity as the department was soon contacting every nation in the world that had considerable ties with China. But to the surprise of the UCSP was the terrorist attacks in the Nusantaran Federation by an Islamic terrorist group. At first glance, the people thought of them as a bunch of crazies to scoff at when they demanded that Chinese people are to be dispelled from the country. But that was because of the utter lack of a sizable minority population of Muslims in China. However, the government knew better as the Uyghurs in Sinkiang were of the Islamic faith. The possibility of the BPI having a foothold in China's western neighbor was a risk that cannot be ignored. CBI agents in Sinkiang were tasked to monitor any extremist activity that could pose a threat to China.

However, the greatest shock to China as a whole was when, on May 30th, two drones invaded its airspace and proceeded to bomb the two destroyers before being intercepted and shot down by Soviet jets. The debris of the destroyed drones was quickly recovered after the Soviet Gendarmerie quickly arrived at the scene and help the local police organized an evacuation from the port. While the two pilots were awarded high honors for their service, the nation mourned for a day when 60 Chinese sailors perished from the bombs. Immediately on the 31st, the whole country was effectively gripped by fear and anger. A mood that was taken advantage of by the ruling party, if only they could identify who the enemy was.

The most obvious choice was Japan. That warmongering nation was looking for an excuse to restart hostilities ever since 1945. It was an open secret that the two nations despised each other existence, for obvious reasons, and a war was inevitable.

The 2nd choice was the BPI since their logo was on the drones. That would have been the case if it weren't for one glaring conundrum. the BPI made no demands to the Chinese government much less demonstrate any ambitions towards the nation across the sea. If anything, the drones would've been targeted at President Naomi Yassin since that's their undisputed target. Once the CBI started analyzing the debris, more questions started popping up for the central government to debate on. Where do the terrorists get the engineers with the education to build drones? The ones that bombed the two destroyers were an amalgamation of Chinese and foreign parts, like a bootleg version of China's drones with glaring differences in design. How did it get unnoticed? If it was flown from the Federation, its airforce would have immediately noticed it. Even Vietnam and the Philippines would have detected the unusual flight path of the drones.

These questions plagued Xi Jinping's mind but then a report from the CBI came in. The news inside was....expected.

Terrorist group, The Islamic Defenders Front, has launched terrorist bombings against the civilian population of Jakarta, in the Nusantaran Federation. The Islamic Defenders Front or BPI in the native acronym, is originally a Pro-Islamic political group that was banned in 2020 by the Nusantaran government for their radical rhetoric and jihadist sympathies. As of now over forty countries have pledged support and even more given condolences for the Nusantaran people. While a petition from the Government of Brazil has come forward in the United Nations to take a more international, uniform, response to the threat of Radical Islamic elements. This proposal has been endorsed by the nation of Egypt and Syria with an expected legislative session for the second quarter of June.

British Withdrawal From Sudan and Uganda

The British government has announced via parliament spokesperson that British forces are withdrawing from both regions. Sparking a series of Pro-Empire and Anti-Colonial clashes in London, York, Manchester, and Liverpool that saw twenty-three injured. An Asian War?

Tensions with the Empire of Japan, Manchuria, and the Chinese Soviet Republic; backed by Korea; have reached a new high after accusations spinning from Nanjing regarding an attack at critical Chinese naval shipyards against two destroyers. Leaving sixty Chinese sailors dead and two drones of unknown origin shot down. Presidential Statement on Sarinah Massacre

SINGAPORE - President Naomi Yassin has made an official statement regarding the recent terrorist attack at Sarinah, a shopping mall in Jakarta, West Java, during a press conference outside of the Presidential Palace (Istana Presiden) in Singapore. She described the incident as a "complete disregard for numerous human lives". She sends deepest condolences to those who lost their loved ones in the attack and expresses strong hatred towards the BPI and other Islamist groups, as she makes it clear that there will be zero tolerance for more terrorist attacks. She refuses to go through the five demands made by Muhammad Rizieq Shihab, the leader of the BPI. She also approves of the need for the Nusantaran Defence Forces (APN) to be immediately deployed to West Java in order to prevent further terrorist attacks in the state. She also calls for further sympathy from many foreign governments, especially the US, who has long waged war on Islamic terrorism since the 9/11 attacks. She criticized the US government for not making a response to the recent bombings and accuses it of being lenient or silent on recent terrorist attacks in Nusantara.

Governor Approves Military Presence

WEST JAVA - The Governor of West Java, Muhammad Rashid Kamil, has officially approved of heavy military presence in the state. As of today, APN will deploy its personnel to the state in order to aid the civilian authorities and hunt down radical jihadists. Locals has described the move as a "last resort against terrorism" and hopes that the APN one day destroys the BPI. Others, however, are not supportive and called the move "too militaristic", which hints at fear of martial law, despite Muhammad Rashid ensuring people that life would go as normal, just as the APN would help authorities uphold public safety and keep terrorism at bay. Other governors in the Nusantaran island of Java are also thinking of increased military presence in their respective states. The federal government welcomed the decision and now hopes the APN would restore peace and order in West Java.

Islamist Protests Across Nusantara

NUSANTARA - Various Islamist organizations are organizing large-scale protests across Nusantara, mostly as a response to the recent attack on Sarinah. The groups have described the attack as proof that the current government is distancing itself from Islamic traditions and moving further towards Westernization. These protests were supported by the Islamic Solidarity Movement (GSI), one of Nusantara's largest political alliances. The GSI consists of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), the National Awakening Party (PKN), the Islamic Defence League (LPI) and the Free Aceh Movement (PAM). The GSI has accused Mrs. President of pandering to infidels and showing disregard for Muslim interests. It has called for her to resign from both office and politics, as well as the imposition of Sharia on the citizens of Nusantara. The call received harsh criticism from the ruling Freedom Front (FK), LGBT activists, moderate Muslims and other parties such as the Nusantaran Labour Party (PBN) and the National Trust Party (PAN). The FK, which is currently Nusantara's ruling alliance since 2019, consists of the National Development Party (PPN), the Nusantaran Solidarity Party (PSN), the Popular Action Party (PTR) and the Nusantaran Green Party (PHN). Mrs. President is both founder and leader of the PPN, having formed it to combat corruption and promote democracy. "Yesterday, the BPI attacked a shopping mall in Jakarta, killing 60 innocent people and injuring 90 more. I consider the attack to be a complete disregard for numerous human lives. I am done with the group and I made it clear that neither I or my government will go through with their five demands. The six suspects who were arrested in connection to the bombings will remain in police custody and should be moved to a more secure police station in order to avoid an attempt by the BPI or other Islamist groups to free them. No more terrorist attacks will be tolerated in the future and I will make that clear to those who are willing to commit such act. I will highly approve of our armed forces having a large presence in West Java so that our authorities can successfully ensure public safety and put an end to terrorism. Following public statement by the Cuban government, which I find to be respectful and understandable in regards to recent tragedy in our country, I highly call for further sympathy from other governments, especially the United States of America, who had endlessly fought against jihadists since 9/11. However, I am saddened to see that the US government, especially in regards to its own internal turmoil, has not responded to the bombings that occured almost three weeks ago and I believe it is now acting completely lenient on terrorist attacks that has recently occured on our soil. I hope President Dolonescu responds to this and sympathizes with us. I would thank local law enforcement for putting an end to the attack and send my deepest condolences to those who lost their loved ones that day. On the other hand, I am deeply disgusted by the GSI for telling me to step down from both office and politics, just as Islamist protests have recently broke out. In the war room was a chatter of excited discussion among the commanders, as today was something more out of the ordinary. At the request of the Minister of the Army, officers from the secretive Chuchun Sabotage Unit, dubbed the modern Kwangtung Army had arrived to meet with regular commanders. Among these officers were Manchus, Koreans, and Japanese, all tasked with the more shadowy operations in China and Korea. As an asymmetric force, these commanders excelled in unconventional tactics, and today they were here to present their operational planning.

Top on the agenda today was the terror attacks in the Nusantaran Federation, however a much different take than most other militaries would have.

Field Marshal Yamazaki began the meeting. "General Shimeta Honjo, Lieutenant General Xi Zhishan, and other Kwangtung Army officers, welcome back to the homeland. Our commanders are interested in hearing your thoughts. As you all already know, there were multiple attacks carried out in the Nusantaran Federation recently by a group called the Islamic Defenders Front. Since only a very small number of Japanese citizens live in the Nusantaran Federation, it is not too much of our military's concern. At least, that was until General Honjo sent word his staff at the Kwangtung Army have formulated plans around this."

All eyes turned to General Honjo who smiled. "Well gentlemen, we in Manchukuo have found these recent developments to be very interesting. The Islamic Defenders Front has expressed its opposition to most major countries, including ours, however they have also called out China and Korea. That is where we see our opportunity. This is a small group, that until recently, has been insignificant and not commonly known. That is why my officers believe that they will continue with their terror attacks, and with the current fears, a new attack could be similarly blamed on them."

There was some muttering around the room before Field Marshal Yamazaki called for silence.

General Honjo continued. "While simple analysis of their attacks show relatively low tech attacks, in recent years, drone warfare has come into play more and more. In fact, modern long range drones possessed by terror groups in the middle east now have ranges up to 1,500 miles or more. So it wouldn't be out of the ordinary if a terror group like the Islamic Defenders Front were to launch one for strikes on a country it so despises..."

Marshal Admiral Yamaguchi cut in, "What are you proposing?"

General Honjo nodded. "We plan to launch a drone strike, consisting of two drones to hit Zhanjiang, targeting their naval base and South Sea Fleet Headquarters located there. Should the strike prove successful, it will damage their response capabilities in the South Pacific, allowing us to launch Operation Tsusho. If it isn't successful, it gives us a front row seat to watch their response capabilities, in order to better plan for Operation Ihyo. So in this sense, either option is favorable, although I am confident by flying low and early enough, the drones will go completely undetected by radar at least. It is too bad Shanghai wasn't feasibly in range for an 'Nusantaran Insurgent' drone, but this is our best option."

General Tojo nodded. "What type of drone do you intend to use? Of course we can't just use a Japanese drone."

Honjo grinned. "We have made a 'new' drone just special for this. The drones are mostly made from parts from the CSR. They have been painted with the Islamic Defender Front emblem on the wings, and has been intentionally beaten in a bit to not seem so new. The drones have been equipped to carry two 500 pound bombs, and are equipped with a 250 pound warhead to be used in a suicide attack."

"Why are they made from some Chinese parts?" asked Yamaguchi.

Honjo nodded. "I expected that question. We have built two more drones. We spent less on them, but they will be launched at the same time towards Taiwan in an apparent attack against us. We will coordinate to shoot them down and once recovered, we will 'discover' that parts are made in China. The government will then have the option to denounce China for supporting the terror group and deny the attack on them as a fake to draw away attention. An in one instant, we will have the civilian government willing to actually consider the prospect of Operation Ihyo. Or better yet, the Chinese will back down from their positions."

Yamazaki smiled. "You are just like your great-grandfather. But what happens if the Chinese don't lash out?"

Honjo laughed. "They will. And before our people and the international community, we will show the Chinese as the aggressor. Then we can make our move."

A junior officer interrupted, "Sirs, are you sure this is favorable? We are not nearly ready for all out war. A conflict with China will bring in Korea eventually."

Yamazaki gave a curt nod. "Yes that is understandable. But this operation will be relatively small, with plausible deniability. It may incite tensions, but not bring us into open conflict. We are being forced into a situation which we cannot bear. The Koreans are getting strong. The Chinese outnumber us in men 20 to 1! Their fleet is growing. The Australians support the Communists. We can no longer call on the Americans for help, nor the Europeans, even the Russians who just want peace at all costs. The British are our greatest hope, but even they may abandon Hong Kong. We are being boxed in. This operation will act to hurt the Chinese capability, so that we may maintain our dominance, and that British Hong Kong stays open and secure."

There was some clapping in the room as the commanders echoed their support for the plan. As it died down, Honjo spoke again.

"We will execute the operation on the 30th in the very early morning. The drones will take off from a special Manchukuoan freighter that will be near Nusantaran, to give the impression that the attack was launched from there. The drones targeting Taiwan will be launched first, in an easily observable path. The ones targeting Zhanjiang will fly just above the waterline, to avoid radar detection. The drones targeting Taiwan will be shot down, and then the ones attacking Zhanjiang will proceed. One will target their naval base, bombing the new destroyers Kunming and Changsha. The drone will then proceed to launch a suicide attack on the base's fuel stocks. The drone targeting their headquarters will drop its bombs on the building, before diving in as well. If done correctly, it will damage their capability, and set them back several months. The time is specifically chosen due to the fact most personnel will not be at headquarters or manning their ships, minimalizing their casualties. They will not be expecting an attack. As much as I would like to sink their ships, the hope is that the bombs will just damage the ships, and not sink them, however that is not guaranteed."

Yamazaki gave a grim grin. "Good work. Now I expect you to do your full duty to execute the operation."

"Thank you sir. I will not fail to deliver." was the reply from Honjo.

From the SS Kaihen, a freighter secretly owned by the Kwangtung Army, two modified drones were launched, on a flight path towards Japanese Taiwan. These were armed, and bore distinct markings of the Islamic Defender Front. However, these flew in a straight path and high enough to be easily detectable by radar, although the commanders in Taiwan had already been tipped off and were prepared to launch F-15J jets to intercept once it entered into Japanese airspace.

Less than 30 minutes later, as the freighter moved towards a more suitable launch point, the true operation began as two more similar drones took off, this time headed towards a real target, Zhanjiang. These drones flew low, just a few meters above the water, with the hope that by flying so low, they would completely avoid radar detection. The circumstances were favorable to them. It was dark, late, and the Chinese would not be expecting such an attack, or an attack at all.

The drones now began their 3 hour journey towards China.

The two drones now crept into Chinese airspace after moving past Hainan, where Lieutenant General Zhishan and several regular commanders watched, ready to observe a Chinese response - or celebrate their success.

Within several minutes the drones began to gain altitude, and began their separate attacks. One would begin bombing the new destroyers Kunming and Changsha before launching suicide strike on the base's fuel stocks. The other drone would target the South Sea Fleet Headquarters, aimed at knocking the building out.

On Hainan, Zhishan and the other commanders waited, tense to see the result, while in Taiwan, the two drones there were located and destroyed. By the next day, the results would determine how the military and the unknowing civilian government would move forward.

Accusations of Wrong Doing

Over the course of the day United States Representative Elliot Hawk has been on a tirade. Appearing on network shows, live streams on several platforms, as well as putting his story on every source of social media he can. By noon, the memes had taken hold and even with several social media sites attempting to ban discussion of this active story in an attempt to prevent the spread of misinformation, the topic had taken a sudden and firm hold in the national debate. Congressman Hawk publicly accused Speaker Noor Patel, and the Democratic party of using a bug in his office to spy on his activities. Congressman Hawk has labeled Patel and the Democratic party as traitors to the Union, and even filed for both criminal and civil legal action against them. The national debate and discussion among the people was already reaching a boiling point. This has only inflamed the issue even further. Speaker Patel has made a single public statement through her social media, denying the accusations and condemning Congressman Hawk for them. She has also called for an immediate vote for impeachment on the grounds of inciting violence against the freshman congressman. An action that has spurned more anger and aggression on both sides of the political aisle.

An Unfortunately Timed Announcement

President Charles Horowitz had signed an executive order handed to him by both Speaker Patel and Vice President Dolonescu, regarding the new agreements with the Empire of Japan. He announced the very favorable terms to this agreement, including the lowering of the national debt, even to the extent of total exoneration from the United States' debt to Japan within the next forty years. And with the promise of new and more favorable trade deals coming with the Empire soon. However, even with news as favorable as this, it is over shadowed both by further spending bills announced. As well as the topic of Speaker Patel and Congressman Hawk's public feud and potential legal action. President Horowitz tries hard as he might to keep the press conference on topic, explaining the new spending bill as an effort to bolster the military. Talking about spending six hundred billion on large production of the newly successful F-35s stealth variant. But his efforts are in vain as every question asked remains solely on the topic of the potential spying by the Democratic party on Republican contemporaries. The interruptions by the media, and their refusal to let the topic go, causes a sudden and uncharacteristic outburst by President Horowitz. His expletive filled and anger fueled rant is aired live on television. for all of the nation to see.

A Solemn Announcement

The previous five days are filled with ever growing turmoil. Riots break out in almost every state capitol. Left and Right wing protestors clash violently in every major city in the union. And today, President Horowitz stands before a room of reporters to speak to them on the growing animosity caused by the antagonistic feud between Speaker Patel and Congressman Hawk, as well as the anger created by his live outburst.

President Horowitz: "My fellow Americans. I have betrayed your trust. I have hurt many of you with my words. And I have failed as your President. I cannot in good conscious, continue serving as the leader of this great nation. Effective immediately, I hereby resign from the position of President of these United States. I thank you for the honor of serving you. And I am sorry again for my failures. I leave you in the hands of my Vice President, Maeve Dolonescu. A woman that I firmly believe shall perform better than I ever could have. Thank you for your time, and God bless America."

Horowitz leaves the White house with his head held down in shame as Maeve dolonescu is sworn in as the new President of the United States of America on live television. She immediately gives a speech of her own, the moment after taking the Oath of Office.

President Dolonescu: "I am sure you have many questions and concerns. My predecessor left me with quite the mess to clean up. I would like to assure you that I will get the job done. As proof, with my first official act as President, I will be returning to the Oval Office this very afternoon and signing an executive order to end these riots by the end of the week. The National Guard will be mobilized and will be given authorization to use full force to quell these riots. I will be hereby declaring all of these treasonous, vile, right wing attempts at harming the sanctity of this nation as acts of terror. And we shall henceforth be treating them as we treat acts of terror. With the full force of the United States Armed Forces. Thank you."

While Angela waiting for a response from her friend, her phone began ringing which she picked up immediately. She listened intently causing her smile to become a scowl. She excused herself and walked to where she could talk, "That motherfucker crossed a line siccing the United States Military on her own citizens accusing them of being terrorists. Send out a press release openly condemning this act of depravity.

This government overwhelmingly condemns the draconian use of executive orders against those that disagree with President Maeve Dolonescu's policies if the U.S. Government continues down this path then a Second American Civil War will be inevitable.

Regarding Brazil, the Nusantaran government fully endorses the UN proposal made by the Brazilian ambassador to combat terrorism. The Nusantaran government praises the UK for also endorsing the proposal. President Naomi Yassin expresses full support for the proposal, as well as thanking the Brazilian government for making that proposal in the first place.

Regarding the US, the Nusantaran government condemns President Maeve Dolonescu for her draconian use of an executive order against her own citizens based on political beliefs. President Naomi Yassin expresses full sympathy with all Americans, regardless of their gender, race, nationality, religion, sexuality, disability, economic situation or political beliefs (except for extremist ones), while condemning the new US government for disregarding political diversity and threatening violent force against civilians. President Naomi Yassin also condemns the US for staying silent on terrorist attacks that recently occured in Jakarta. If the new government continues to use violence against civilians and show more disregard for political diversity, then the Nusantaran government has no choice but to impose diplomatic and economic sanctions on the US.

June 10th, 2021

The United States had arranged for a Presidential speech to be given by Charles Horowitz at the UN general assembly, addressing the UN for the first time as the nations leader. But with his sudden resignation, it is left to Maeve Dolonescu to address the delegates from around the world. She speaks to the delegates with an almost cold rage.

"Madam President, Mister Secretary General, world leaders, ambassadors, and distinguished delegates, I stand before you today as this world faces threats that have begun to rot out our nations at their cores. Terrorism, attacks on innocents, ideological warfare, are stabbing at the hearts of nations far and wide. Even the great Nation of the United State of America, has seen right wing fundamentalists trying to tear away at the fabric of this great union. We have seen a terrorist bombing in Jakarta just last month. Drones of unknown origin striking dockyards in Nanjing. These types of attacks only stand to get worse if firm, and powerful action is not taken. As we speak, The United States Marine Corps is engaged in Operation Uproot. Soldiers are working tirelessly in every state and territory of the United States that has shown violent acts of rebellion and terrorism. Finding the source of these violent groups, and bringing them to justice. And as these terrorists are brought to justice, I want the world to see the effectiveness of the United States Armed Forces."

President Dolonescu has an aid roll up a television screen, that when turned on shows a live feed of a body cam from a Marine and his four squad mates performing a breach and clear on a warehouse. Once inside there is a short firefight. Leaving four men dead and twelve apprehended. The video rolls on, showing far right imagery, and even Nazi paraphernalia in the warehouse. As well as a room filled with a stock pile of weapons and explosive materials. The video is shut off and President Dolonescu speaks once more.

"As you can see, Operation Uproot has already been successful in saving countless live by that one instance alone. The explosives and weapons confiscated could have ended untold lives. Because of this, tomorrow I am forming a taskforce. This taskforce that operate under the direction of the United State Military, under Operation Domestic Peace. And shall be staffed in part with Delta Force operators. The aim, is to not simply use American soldiers though. I am hereby calling forth from every nation in the world, to offer some of your best and brightest to this task force. All nations, that provide a qualified operator to the ODP Task Force, shall have the benefit, of them working to protect your own nation from these right wing terroristic threats within your borders as well. At no cost to your taxpayers. You shall all expect to receive the offer to send one or more members of your special forces to be a part of the ODP Task Force, but now I would like to take a moment to discuss more present matters. The United States of America is hereby putting forth a resolution. Terrorists, do not respect the laws of the land or the rights of the people. Therefore, this resolution should it be adopted by the United Nations, shall strip human rights protections from those that aim to strip them of innocent women and children. All in the name of some Ideological goal. Terrorists, do not deserve the UN's protections. For as long as the UN sees them as human and protects their 'rights', the UN is complicit in every death that occurs because the proper actions couldn't be taken to prevent them. I do hope that you all do the right thing, and vote yes on this resolution. Thank you all, God bless your nations, and God bless America."

President Maeve Dolonescu meets with her security advisors as they plan out their moves for Operation Uproot. Five star General Thomas Hackett, and four star General Colmett Harris voice their opinions to the new President.

Dolonescu: "I want boots on the ground in every city. I don't care if the protestors on our side get caught in the cross fire I want each and every one of the members of these Republican goon squads rounded up and locked up."

Hackett: "Several Governors are refusing to cooperate with us Madam President. Most notably The Governors of Texas, Florida, and Montana. They have alright refused any state level help. The Governor of Texas has even threatened to bar access to the state from any federal forces if we attempt this operation in his state."

Dolonescu: "How fast can we set up the arrest of the Texas Governor?"

Harris: "I'm sorry, Ma'am?"

Dolonescu: "If the Governor of Texas is going to willingly disregard the will of the people, refuse my authority as President, and harbor terrorists within his state borders I want him arrested and removed from office. I don't care what for, I simply want it done."

Harris: "I... will arrange it Madam President."

Dolonescu: "Good, now we don't need the other's cooperation as long as they stay out of our way. I want Marines in every city and Predator drones in the sky. We need eyes and ears on all of this so body cams with Wifi connections as well. My speech on the tenth needs to have some fan fare, so set up a fake incursion into a building with a squad of marines as well. Fill the place with guns and explosives so we can show them what we are really up against."

Hackett: "Consider it done. I'd happy to report that the supply and housing for the ODP Task Force you are creating has already been completed as well. Along with an order to contractors for enough weapons, ammunition, and body armor to keep a task force of 300 stocked for a decade."

Dolonescu: "Good we're ahead of schedule then. Anything else to report? I need to get back to writing my speech."

Hackett: "Not to report but one thing needs your approval Ma'am. Our engineers have worked out a design for a new tank that with proper funding they say they can have operational by the end of 2025. Infrared shielding, mounted miniaturized SAM unit, dual variable barreled with separate calibers for more adaptability if operation, autoloading, and completely designed for autonomous control by only two men."

Dolonescu: "Sounds like a miracle tank. Too good to be true even. What's the catch?"

Hackett: "The unit cost of one tank exceeds one billion dollars and they are asking for two trillion for the development."

Dolonescu: "Put the proposal on my desk. I'll get you the money. Just make sure Operation Uproot goes exactly as planned."

Texas State Capitol Building
June 10th, 2021

It began with a series of tweets. And quickly spiraled into hour to hour coverage on every major news network in America and abroad. The Governor of Texas was suddenly accused of several unspeakable crimes. Little evidence beyond accusations were given. But by noon of the tenth of June, the Governor was arrest by Federal agents, and a Democratic member of the Texas State legislature had presented articled of impeachment against him. The flimsy nature of the accusations, as well as the sudden and partisan move for impeachment has only served to inflame the protestors and rioters within the Texas Capitol even further. The Lieutenant Governor of Texas wanting to maintain peace in the face of this, offered President Dolonescu full state support for her Operation Uproot that followed that day.

By the end of the operation, much of the Riots and protests were quelled by the iron fists of the United Stated National Guard, as well as the United States Marine corps. Across the whole nation a total of six thousand four hundred and twenty eight people were arrested. A total of one hundred and twelve died over the course of this operation, including two Marines, and three Guardsmen. The good news is though, that the riots were quelled, for at least a short time. And President Dolonescu too every televised appearance she could to flaunt the success of Operation Uproot and advertise that Operation Domestic Peace will help every cooperating nation in the future as well.
