That sounds cool, she was on the hunt for some magic item that had cropped up and she planned to go in and grab it before other mages could.

I'm more on the bad guy end of the spectrum cuz of my own quest, but I'd still love to bother ya if ur keen.

It'd be hilarious if the item was one of the 2 I'm currently seeking.

But I dnt think the mages have em.

I just made it up, it's a grimoire. And she's on the hunt for it...probably heading to some library (also she's trying to keep this secret of the ghost of the Sun King tailing her because if the council (or any Sleepers) find out, she's fucked...so there's that. It'll probably be near you if you want. Theo's not a good guy either, she's out for self and self alone.

I gotcha, yea it'd be possible to intertwine the 2. Azazel and your char if you wanna put the grimoire near those assembly mages I'm moving on.

Up to you. I have a pack of kindred as well, but not sure any of the free ones would be near a library.

We're in LA, just a heads up.

But also perhaps specifying the city within the LA area you're in might help.

As others are scattered about the metropolis as well.

No worries. Out of curiosity, we're you planning on barging into the same building as myself?

It would be appropriate for free assembly mages to have a library. Idk if you'd want or have any association to them or were just breaking in. I intend to "remove their presence" from Central city though.

If not its cool, just wasn't certain if u wanted to proceed with interacting or not.

I do...I can just change the name to the Free Assembly library. Is the Free Assembly and the Free Council the same thing, because it wouldn't do to steal from her own group's library and get kicked out. Maybe she can stop by the group to say hi before heading home and then we meet.

Oof, yea it is the same according to the lore and wiki.

https://whitewolf.fandom.com/wiki/Free_Council

But if those are your peoples, I'm actually there to more than likely kill them....

I'm in the midst of a quest to take Central city over as a foothold for the Sabbat resurgence and these mages are in the way.

Oh, okay. I'll just fast-forward to her heading to headquarters and we can meet face to face there. Gotta go edit.

Hi, I’m thinking about joining, I just want to know if this is Old World Of Darkness, or New World Of Darkness.
Thanks in advance!

I believe we're following the setting of VTM, vampire the Masquerade.

Not sure if you're referring to editions of the game book or what exactly, imps would need to clarify that. But hopefully my 2cents helped just a bit!

Ah. I don’t actually have any official WOD books. I have two PDFs of the fan games (PTH and GTT), but other than that I know next to nothing about the setting and literally nothing about the rules. Thanks for trying to help though!

Absolutely! Tbh, I joined maybe 4 or 5 months ago or around there and was completely unaware of WoD's existence. So I'm also not the most educated and find my info in the wiki's as well haha.

The discord helped alot too, asking questions where I could. But don't worry, the most important thing is to have fun! Imps is a phenomenal OP and is always glad to answer questions, so I've learned.

Ill get to posting!

I've found the wiki to be the most enlightening tool next to asking imps, herself.

Simply put the wiki is 90.99% accurate and the current setting is a year or so from today's etc etc. The other 10% being what imps changes to abide by her storytelling.

But hope to see an app regardless!

Thanks! I should be posting an app in a bit, unless I get distracted while reading the wiki and end up going on a wiki walk.

Edit: Okay, I’ve bitten off more than I can chew. There is a LOT to learn about this. I may be a long time.

Second edit:Okay, I’ll probably be ready by the time the sun becomes a red giant. Might take me a bit longer than that though.

Its a lot right?? Hahaha there's alot of alot to learn and choose and tbh you never really stop haha.

My suggestion is pick a faction u really like and stick to that domain and wiki walk on the others as you go.

Atleast that's what I did. Don't worry abt not knowing everything tho, nobody will hate you for it. Haha

First Change, Part VIII

Morri waited until after the others had calmed Joshua down to the point where it was safe enough for her to quietly slip back to the table and finish her breakfast. After the pack had finished eating, Nolan sought out Nick whilst Morri kept her distance from Joshua as they awaited the return of the pack alpha. Short while later Nolan returned with a few tasks for the pack from Nick, though Nolan declared that the pack would do some training first by doing some sparring against one another.

Though heading over to the caern, Joshua suddenly became very green in the face before doubling over and being violently sick. What came up was...something, a baneling and a thing of the Wyrm that had been purged by the caern's protective shield. Nick was summoned and confirmed what it was and the conclusion was drawn that it must've gotten into Joshua from the fried chicken takeaway he had had the night before. As it turned out, the sept had long been suspicious about the takeaway and investigating it was one of the tasks that Nolan had been given.

Excitement aside Morri found herself being paired up with Joshua as a sparring partner, though the Glass Walker Auhorn still had some pent-up anger from his humiliation at Morri's hands. Joshua's frustrations would continue as Morri managed to dodge every single one of his blows, he became increasingly enraged to the point where the rest of the pack had to intervene. Though Shaggy seemed to be spoiling for a fight, but ended up being kicked onto his arse for his troubles. It took Nolan, enforcing his will as pack alpha, to end the scuffle and got the pack to do some training other than brawling. Morri was made to apologise, though she simply said that she promised not to prank Joshua anymore.

Training completed and tensions tempered, the pack went to see another Glass Walker in the sept called Marc. Better know as Doc Lazer, though much to his annoyance, Marc was the closest thing to a scientist the sept processed. The sept was concerned about a new drug called 'V' doing the rounds in the local area, particularly since it made its users hyper-aggressive and the sept was worried the effect it would have on the kinfolk in the area. Morri was charged with keeping Leo out of trouble, something she did by taking them both into the Umbra and playing fetch by throwing a stick for him.

Evening time eventually rolled around and the pack set off to meet up once again with Ryan, who explained that a vampire had been plaguing his kinfolk and he'd like the pack to deal with it. The Bone Gnawer explained that it resided nearby in the sewer and said he'll take the pack there, something the pack agreed to. The seven Garou set off as one entity through the streets of Manchester, people hurriedly moved out of the way of the aura of menace rolled before the pack. Once a police car slowed down as it passed the pack, though quickly sped up when the policemen inside decided that they had more pressing matters to attend to. At last Ryan led them to a non-descript and random manhole cover, the Bone Gnawer explained that they were now close to the vampire's lair and gave the pack the final directions they needed. Curiously Ryan did not follow them and Morri questioned Nolan, via the totem, about the wisdom of continuing with the venture especially as they were attacking a vampire's lair at night when it was likely to be awake.

But pressed on they did.

Once in the sewer Morri's danger sense went off the chart and the pack was greeted by the exceedingly strong stink of the sewer as they shifted into their preferred war forms. Nolan and Leo shifted into Chrinos form as Morri and Shaggy went for Hispo. Joshua shifted....rather he didn't shift and appeared to be stuck in Homid form. Deciding that they'd come too far to turn back, the pack pressed on with Joshua hanging at the pack of the pack where, in theory, he'd be the safest. After a while they heard voices and then saw a light coming from a side passage, Morri sneaked up to the opening and had a quick peep before ducking back as a hail of gunfire missed her head by mere inches. Cries of alarm sounded from the side passage and Nolan and Leo charged round the corner with Shaggy and Morri following behind as Joshua hung back. The pack found themselves in a reasonable sized chamber with a dozen men armed with guns and a hideous looking creature that Morri later learnt was a Nosferatu, the vampire they were after and one that wasn't a million miles away from its depiction in old black and white movies.

Curiously, there was a white wolf sat in one corner.

Nolan went straight for the vampire whilst ordering the pack to deal with the gunmen, Leo dealt with two of the gunmen in short order and used one of the men's spines to whiplash a third. Morri and Shaggy charged in and savaged some more gunmen, Joshua picked up a gun and fired off a few opportunist shots but got shot in the arm and stumbled back out of the chamber. The remaining gunmen were savagely cut down in quick succession and Morri found herself face-to-face with the wolf, though when it barked it sounded like gibber-ish to the pack but otherwise made no moves towards them. Nolan had been standing his ground against the Nosferatu but was slowly beginning to lose as he took a battering from the vampire, so Morri decided to strike it from behind in order to give their pack alpha some breathing room. She'd taken a few steps when she found herself being sideswiped by a second, bestial looking vampire who turned out to have been the wolf.

It took all of Morri's agility to dodge all of the second vampire's blows, the vampire moving with inhuman speed as he grew increasingly frustrated as none of his blows connected. Shaggy and Leo came to Morri's aid as the vampire seemed to hesitate for a moment before his arm muscles started to bulge and grow in size, giving the other two garou an opening to land savage blows with Leo making the killing blow. With the second vampire, a Gangrel as it was later revealed, defeated the pack focused its attention on the Nosferatu who'd downed Nolan. Now outnumbered, the Nosferatu quickly took a battering and was soon forced to flee by assuming mist form and disappearing into a nearby sewer pipe. Employing some misdirection, the vampire managed to get away scot free as the pack were confused over which pipe it had taken.

Their moment of triumph was cut short however when they checked on Nolan and found him laying deadly still, the hammering he'd taken from the Nosferatu had inflicted a mortal wound which the pack alpha succumbed to and ended up falling in Gaia's name. Warily, the pack picked up Nolan's body and collected Joshua before making their way back to the caern. Nolan's demise was marked by a rite performed by the sept, giving honour to another fallen of Gaia's warriors. Jenny spoke to the pack, noting that as they were still only cubs they should've never been sent after the vampires and Ryan full well knew this. Though the caern leader conceded that the pack still performed well and accorded it as their Rite of Passage, declaring that they were cubs no more in the eyes of the Garou Nation.

With the loss of their pack alpha it was a bittersweet moment, they'd triumphed over great odds but as the loss of their leader and now faced an uncertain future.

Greetings,

To give a precise answer on what background lore we are using in preference.

Vampire: The Masquerade
Werewolf: The Apocalypse (and some tribal names and aesthetics of Forsaken but everything else is Apocalypse)
Mage: The Ascension (With bits of Awakening to smooth over and fill in the parts of Ascensions lore that flat out don't mix well. Also like Werewolf there are factions whose names and goals are from Awakening but are adapted to Ascension. Also Arcana/Spheres have been equated as terminology for the same thing in the RP to increase mutuality between the two sources).
Changeling: The Lost & Dreaming

Other source materials
Wraith: The Oblivion
Kindred of the East
Hunter: The Vigil and Hunter: Reckoning (both have been adapted in the RP to co-exist via regular normal hunters and those who are Imbued).
Promethean: The Created
Mummy: Resurrection
Geist: The Sin-Eater
Kindred of the Ebony Kingdom
Demon: The Fallen
Orpheus

Now you do not have to know in detail any of these. I expect hardly anyone to know more than cursory knowledge of one. Further, the apps on the OP are much slimmed down and simplified versions of the character sheets for these games proper. The RP always puts narrative first before crunch (crunch/stats are to help visualize a character and their skills. While also keeping things grounded so players aren't mary suing their way through every possible obstacle they face).

Any lore questions feel free to ask. Though skimming the wiki does provide a plethora of information that is usually relevant enough to answer most players questions on the fly.

Joining the discord also greatly expedites coordination with players and we do have a helpful Compendium that is much more regularly updated with character information, certain locations, and such. Its actually due for a major update anyways with over a dozen entries set to be added.

Gonna be quite the funny convo with Louis and Azazel if it's ever had in depth.

Azazel was in France some time after the revolution and resided there in his back story.
