My thought was that you didn't really know where it was, so they were searching for it, so you would have to move the mech under the hole when you found it, but it's a multiple ton mech that isn't pilotable by any of the attackers.
Edit: I didn't read the post well

One paragraph history of your nation: (from 1893 onwards, not required if nothing has changed from RL)
Mass unrest broke out against the Portuguese monarchy like RL, but it happened a little earlier and started in 1893. After a bloody civil war which lasted a year, the King abdicated and fled to Britain, which was always seen as the nation he was truly loyal to. The Republic of Portufal was established, and the Portuguese people were at first given significantly more freedom than they had under the former monarchy. This, along with a high amount of Portuguese support to the Spanish revolutionaries, politically, militarily, and financially, led to a similar revolution occurring in Spain which caused the downfall of the Kingdom of Spain, the King abdicated the throne as in Portugal and was once again given asylum by Great Britain. As a united Iberian power, the two middle-powers became a superpower when united and began to increase the development of their nation and colonies abroad. When the Spanish-American (Iberian-American) War broke out, it ended in 1896 and was a decisive Iberian victory, as Iberia was able to retain it's colonies of Cuba, Puerto Rico, The Philippines and a few other minor ones.
The Republic of Iberia began to morph into an authoritarian dictatorship led by Generalissimo Fernando Gaston Silva who seeks to expand his empire and probably go to war with the British.
Government Form: Officially a republic, but in reality it is a dictatorship which seized power in a coup which ousted the many hundreds-year old monarchy and installed a military junta which rules the country under an iron fist to this day. United peacefully with the dictatorship in neighboring Spain which was created with the support and financial aid of the Portuguese regime.
Army Size: WIP
Army Description: The army is not the best equipped in the world, but they are well-manned and well-trained and lead through sheer numbers rather than technolical superiority.
Navy Size: WIP
Air Force: WIP
Territory of country: See below-
Controlled; Portugal, Spain, The Canary Islands, Spanish Morocco, São Tomé and Príncipe, Spanish Sahara, Madeira, The Azores, Cabo Verde, Angola, Mozambique, Goa, Macau, East Timor, Cuba, Puerto Rico, The Philippines
Claimed: Brazil, French Morocco, Hong Kong, India (the rest of it), West Timor, etc. (If there are any of these that I could control, that would be great.)

But then again, on the flip side, Spain and Portugal isn't really rich enough to make a Scandinavian-style mechanised army work.
The simple fact is that both Iberia and Scandinavia just aren't Great Powers in 1930, and there is a good reason for that.

Calling godmod since you didn't let me respond, controlled my mercs and wiped them out without a single death. I understand you have a mech but I don't think it would stand up to a barrage of cannon fire at point-blank range from an airship hovering over the roof for very long, prototype or no. I mean it isn't a tank, just a hulking ironman.
