-Black Hand Syndicate, an intergalactic business syndicate, which acts as a money laundering front for a criminal syndicate of the same name.
-UMC-United Martian Colonies, a union of the assorted martian colonies. A true democracy with a view for peace and freedom.
-Red Dawn Industries, the Zentradi Foundation's largest competitor. Similar in concept and execution.
-East-Earth Company, a band of explorers who normally put the Gates into place, by means of AI and cryostasis pods.
-Upsilon Incorporated, a cyber tech foundation created in the outer colonies, for the outer colonies. --Probable Bad-guys too the UEG--

Terriforming Mars was not an easy project. Humanity had never attempted anything close to this difficulty before, yet we took it upon ourselves to change the very nature of an entire world. Red Dawn Industries fought on the front line of this battle, and we demonstrated the quality of our products across two worlds. When other equipment failed, you could always rely on Red Dawn. This dedication to over engineering was what allowed Red Dawn to become the primary government terraforming contractor in the following decades. [Note: It has been speculated that Red Dawn is entirely falsifying reports of their product's effectiveness in this paragraph. After the discovery eight years ago of Red Dawn’s under-the-table deals with the Government Archive Administration around this time, almost all data pertaining to Red Dawn products and their competitors during the First Terraforming era is suspect.]

From there, Red Dawn marched proudly into the Jump Gate Era, providing quality gear to the government to keep the peace, and ensure the safety of outlying worlds.[Note: Red Dawn completely skips thirty of the most noteworthy years of their history here. During that time they successfully played their extensive government contacts to steal patents from developing companies and used these and other illegal practices to virtually eliminate almost all competition except Zentradi Foundation (which it is suspected they had some sort of deal with). It was not until [REDACTED] made a complete documentary of this process, which had gone on for 27 years that the public took note. The following legal action was mostly unreported or nonexistent, and the public really only has the government’s word that Red Dawn Industries was at all punished for this. [REDACTED] got into a mysterious legal debate with a company affiliated with Red Dawn Industries over libel one year later, and despite clearly being in the right, was forced to shut down from the cost of the ongoing legal battle. Evidently this did hurt Red Dawn Industries, however. Even if they tried to hide it, proof enough exists in the ad campaign done by Zentradi Foundation shortly after the documentary was made available to the public, openly against Red Dawn Industries. Zentradi Foundation probably breathed a sigh of relief that Red Dawn took the fall and not them, and quickly cut ties with the tainted organisation.]

Now, Red Dawn Industries proudly stands strong as one of the forerunners in terms of quality, utility, and affordability in our industry. As we stand on the cusp of a New Era, we refresh our memory of our original goal, our unerring resolution to make products that will fail for nothing.

Short Bio: A former soldier of the UEG from a system far down 002, Jarnassus is far more machine than man, the product of militarization within the colonized system on the part of the local UEG governate. Born to one of the wealthy industrialist families of Saarlund, second world of the star Ceris, Jarn was originally destined for nothing more than a life of leisure in the lap of luxury, which he spent in private invention and innovation, until the uprisings began. Workers in the vast smeltery-forges and stellar-lifters in orbit around Ceris began an armed revolt against the UEG, seeking liberty or death, or some such nonsense. When Jarn's battalion of the Homeward was called up his family ensured a posting far from the action on a stable lifter- this worked out great, until the rebels turned one of their suborned lifters on his station. Magnetic flux compactors meant to handle the mass of a star tore the metal monolith to shreds, killing almost every man from Jarn's unit, and leaving him a hollow shell of humanity that only survived in an escape pod for over three weeks in a state of pain-dulled stasis. Though one arm and his torso survived, even his skull was fractured beyond the ability of medical technology to repair, leaving Jarn little more than a bit of flesh for the butcher's block. Following maneuvering by his parents, the youth was installed in an experimental cybernetic synthcog frame, which he has adapted and modified to his own design with a host of innovations. A rabid reactionary due to his experiences, Jarn took on this expedition despite his wealth and respect in the community in a desire to prevent any more revolutions, and any more destroyed survivors.

Commonly referred to as The Colonies, the UMC is a breakaway Human colonial sector on Mars, locked in a Cold War with the UEG, which admisters the majority of Mars. Formed during the Third World War, in which their Earth Admistrators weren't paying much attention to their Martian charges, the UMC is a Russian-style Democracy, which often clashes with its American-style Earthly Government.
