So that means we now have already 10 countries that have been accepted. Good work, people.
I suggest we start the IC soon then, let's say one of the coming days? So that everyone can first concentrate on celebrating Easter.

Full Nation Name: The Hellenic Republic
Short Nation Name: Greece
National Flag:
Image

Territory:
Image Area in Yellow

Official Language(s): Greek, Demotic Greek
Form of Government: Republic
Head of State: Otto Constantinides
Head of Government: (if different)
Capital City: Athens
Population: 900,000
Religion: The state religion and main religion is Greek Orthodox Christianity, with nearly all the population being Orthodox. There is a small minority of Muslims, but they are being persecuted as Greece has just gained independence and wants to get rid of anything related to the Ottomans. There is also a small Jewish minority.
Army: The army is small and ill armed, yet has experience from the War of Independence against the Ottomans. The army needs desperate modernisation.
Navy: There is essentially no real navy but a few boats left over from the War of Independence that need desperate repairs.
Economic Strength: Most of the economy is built on fishing or farming, so the country is poor. As well as this, as the country and the currency, the Drachma, is new, it makes it hard to find cheap loans and what-not.
Infrastructure: Although the infrastructure is good in the cities, in the rest of the country it is virtually non-existent, with just dirt roads leading to places and people having to use medieval ways of getting rid of waste.
Primary Goals: Achievement of the Megali Idea
Improvement of Infrastructure and Army
History: After the return of Napoleon, the Greek nationalists saw him win at Waterloo and decided to use him to inspire them. They were ill-equipped but numerous, and ready to fight against their Ottoman overlords. In 1817, a series of attacks on Ottoman troops in cities began, before a major nationalist force marched into Athens, reclaiming it for the Hellenic Republic. A large Ottoman force marched through Greece, in the aim of retaking Athens from the rebels. They were bulked up by Egyptian troops. However, due to bad tactics, they managed to lose against the rebels at Athens and then losing a large group of men at a river as they were trying to escape after the bridge, which was wooden, was destroyed. The Hellenic army attacked the Peloponnese, slowly but surely claiming land for the Republic through a serious of guerrilla actions and small battles. Eventually, the Ottomans learnt they couldn't win and so signed the Treaty of Athens. which gave Greece (or it least the parts of it on the map) independence, but only after 4 years of fighting. The Hellenic Republic was founded in 1820, with Otto Constantinides named it's first president.

I have plenty of time to close the technology gap between the illustrious Qing Empire and the Western barbarians. With a competent and open-minded Emperor, the Qing have every chance of arresting their decline and imposing the divine mandate of the Dragon Throne on all of east Asia. Just you watch.

Full Nation Name:The Serbian Revolution for Independence
Short Nation Name:The Serb Revolt
National Flag:
Image

Territory:
Image
Although not officially recognized

Official Language(s):Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian
Form of Government:Revolution
Head of State: Miloš Obrenović
Head of Government: (if different)
Capital City: de Facto Belgrade
Population: 4,000,000 across all of claimed Serbia
Religion: Eastern Orthodox
Army: 175,000 Strong Serbians ready to die for their homeland and for their people. Most of these men are just simple Militia men trained on how to fight their enemy in the use of Guerrilla warfare after learning from the Spanish resistance fighters. They believed that they could win the war and after years of training the Second Serbian Revolt rose up in 1817. However after years of fighting a small group of fighters transformed themselves from Militia men into battle hardened soldiers and created simply the "Red Guard" named after the red uniforms they wear. This unit stands at 50,000 troops and are lead by Aleksander Melchitic the most loyal and skilled commander in the whole of the revolt some even call him the "Serbian Napoleon" because of his young age of commanding at 25.
Navy: None existent
Economic Strength: bad as most of the money is going towards the war effort against the Ottomans
Infrastructure: Reasonable not the best in the world but not the worst it is maintained by Serbian civilians that volunteer to fix the infrastructure for the war
Primary Goals: Win the war of Independence and to bring Serbia onto the world stage
History: The war is in middle ground as it nears its 4 year anniversary, A lot of land has been gained but the Ottomans are not going to give it up so easily after the Greeks war was won they hope to cling on to what ever they have left of mainland Europe. But the Serb remain strong and hopefully for the end of the war and the creation of a independent Serbian something that has not been seen for over 300 years. Serbs from all over the Balkans rally behind the Flag and fight for their freedom that they so rightly deserve. They hope to gain support from great powers in the hope of delivering a massive blow towards the Ottomans, as the Serbian revolutionary government knows now that Greece has won their war all efforts will be sent towards crushing the Serbian revolt. Now the Serbian people wait for what may come next, will the rebellion be crushed and the Serbian People put under the boat of occupation again or will the Serbian flag fly in every single Serbian town, village and city across the whole of the Balkans. Only time will tell and now is that very time.

Traditionally divided into nine separate armies; the Manchu Eight Banners, military-social units into which all Manchu households were organised under the system established by the illustrious Tianming Emperor, founder of the Great Qing dynasty, and the much larger Green Standard Army composed of Han Chinese troops, which was originally formed from the armies of the previous Ming dynasty which declared loyalty to the Qing following their successful conquest of China. Upon his ascension to the Dragon Throne, His Imperial Majesty the reigning Emperor- may he live and reign for ten thousand years- began to reorganise the Imperial military by establishing a single Imperial Army, officially called the Army of the Great Qing Empire (大清國的軍隊, Dà Qīng Guó De Jūnduì), which will eventually be composed of ten divisions consisting of six regiments of mixed ethnicities, each under the central authority of the Ministry of War, largely modelled on European armies. Currently two divisions have been formed as "prototypes" for the new style Imperial Army. These two divisions are approximately 100,000 troops strong each, with the Banners consisting of another 200,000 and the Green Standard Army 500,000.

Formerly the most formidable military force in the world, the Chinese army has declined considerably. Its troops are largely equipped with outdated matchlock firearms, swords, spears and crossbows. The training and discipline of the Imperial forces is poor. The officer corps is largely hereditary, corrupt and incompetent, and the military's organisation is fragmented with strong internal rivalries between units, provinces and individual commanders inhibiting effective cooperation. However, the beginnings of the Emperor's new model army boast modern rifles imported from the west, the best officers of the old armies handpicked by the Emperor himself and a rigorous training regime devised by the Emperor's newly appointed European military advisers.

Navy: Some 80 Chinese junks, thirty of which are modified to carry small cannons such as carronades. Like the army, China's navy is large but outdated, with poorly trained and disciplined crews and highly corrupt, incompetent officers. Under the current Emperor the Imperial Navy has been placed under the jurisdiction of a new Imperial Admiralty and experienced sailors are being recruited with offers of large salaries to replace the old officers' class, and hulls have been laid for several western-style frigates and corvettes to enter service within the next few years as part of a comprehensive modernisation effort.

Economic Strength: The Chinese economy is enormously wealthy, with some individuals as wealthy as whole European countries. However it is still a pre-industrial economy, largely dependent on primary industries, especially farming. Silver forms the basis of the Chinese economy. Free trade is highly restricted; foreign nations are required to enter into a tributary relationship with the Empire in order to be permitted to trade in Chinese cities, and even then are restricted to specific areas. Chinese tea, silk and porcelain are in high demand, and traded for with silver. Recently the Chinese have began to acquire large numbers of western firearms and munitions from European traders. Alarm at the outflow of silver from their economies to pay for Chinese goods led European nations to seek to create a market for opium in China with the hope of regaining some of the silver paid to Chinese traders, much to the alarm of Imperial officials.

Infrastructure: China's infrastructure is largely archaic and undeveloped. Transport is slow, relying on poorly maintained dirt roads and, in more urban areas, pavement. There are no modern medical facilities or factories. The first modern printing presses in China have recently been constructed in Beijing by orders of the Emperor, and plans for the construction of modern textile and munitions factories and ironworks are also under way as part of a widespread programme of modernisation.

Primary Goals: Modernise the country and maintain Chinese hegemony over east Asia. Preserve the Qing, expel the barbarians.

History: For over two thousand years, China has been ruled by a succession of imperial dynasties claiming the Mandate of Heaven to rule over all the world. Throughout most of that time China has utterly dominated the Far East, forcing smaller nations into tributary relationships in which the supremacy of the Emperor of the ruling Chinese dynasty is acknowledged. However, it is under the reigning Qing dynasty that China has reached her greatest extent in terms of territory actually controlled, reaching from Xinjiang in the west to the East China Sea, and from the Amur River in the north to the island of Hainan in the south. That the great Empire of the Qing was founded not by a native Han Chinese dynasty, but by the Manchu people who dwelt to the north of the Empire and invaded China in the 17th century to avenge the death of the last Ming Emperor, Chongzhen, at the hands of the Shun rebels and subsequently crushed all opposition to establish themselves as the undisputed holders of the Mandate of Heaven, is even more remarkable. Under the great Kangxi and Qianlong Emperors, the Qing have proved a dynasty of brilliance, military might and excellent government; but it was in Qianlong's twilight days that stagnation and corruption began to bear down on the Empire.

Upon the death of the Qianlong Emperor in 1799, his successor, the Jiaqing Emperor, took steps to curb corruption and halt the trade of opium by Western traders within China. His efforts did little to slow the seemingly inexorable slide of China towards complacency, decadence and corruption, however. Then, in 1816, a seemingly minor event altered the course of Chinese history. The 34-year-old Manchu Prince Aisin-Gioro Mianning was on a tour of the Empire's east coast on behalf of his father, the Jiaqing Emperor, when his private ship was captured and boarded by European pirates equipped with European arms and sailing a European frigate. Prince Mianning was taken prisoner by the pirates, largely deserters from the navies of Europe, who realised quickly they had captured someone of great importance. They held Prince Mianning captive and demanded an extensive ransom, which the Emperor reluctantly paid to see his son and heir returned safely. Mianning was duly handed back over to the Imperial Court, but enraged by the indignity he had suffered demanded to be allowed to pursue the pirates himself. The Emperor granted him three ships and a cadre of imperial soldiers to pursue the pirates back to their base of operations on Tsushima Island. There, he was horrified as the single pirate ship and its crew of ex-marines and seamen held out against his small fleet and elite imperial soldiers. In the end a ship was lost and some eighty imperial soldiers killed to capture thirty two pirates and their craft. They were taken back to China and executed.

Prince Mianning was forever changed by his experiences. His faith in Chinese superiority was shaken. As his father grew older, Mianning acquired greater influence and power at court, which he used to send emissaries to European countries in order to report back on the technological progress of the barbarians. The reports that returned troubled him greatly. Faced with the very real danger that China might soon be utterly outmatched technologically by barbarians, the prince began to form a small circle around himself that called for drastic reform of the Empire. With offers of vast monetary rewards from the imperial treasury, he attracted European engineers, soldiers and doctors to come to China- much to the concern of European governments worried about losing their best and brightest to the archaic Chinese Empire- and help advise the Imperial Qing Government on reform. Upon the death of his father, the Jiaqing Emperor, in 1820 Mianning ascended the throne, taking the era name Daoguang and accelerating the rate of reform. The old military system of the Eight Banners and the Green Standard Army was to be replaced by a single, integrated Imperial Army; the navy was to be expanded and modernised; new factories were to be constructed to help modernise the economy; European-style hospitals were to be built; efforts were to be made to increase the literacy rate among the poor and new printing presses were established to produce Chinese translations of important scientific texts. New imperial academies for the aristocracy were established, with European professors to teach modern theories of science and mathematics alongside a traditional Confucian education. The opium trade was to be brutally suppressed and the government purged of corrupt officials and reactionaries opposed to the Emperor's reforms.
