I prefer she/they pronouns, and I enjoy not having to debate people over whether or not they should respect that. If they/them pronouns aren't something you're cool with, just use she/her. Thanks! -That same idiot, 2020

A half-elf druid who's been frozen for a few centuries and is seeking to restore balance, or a dwarf warrior trying to avenge his murdered clan.
What do you guys think would be better?

The druid idea sounds neat.

App
Name: Galaerin
Race: Half-Elf
Age: Biologically: 105, Chronologically: 410
Description:
Image

Personality: Galaerin is a reserved elf, accustomed to months or years alone in the wilderness. She does remember a time when she lived among the other elves before she took on the duties of a druid and recalls the nature of civility and interpersonal relations.
Abilities: Druid, nature magic, animal shape-shifting
Equipment: Set of robes, magic-staff, short-sword, skinning dagger, and a bag of various herbs and flowers.
Bio: Galaerin was born in the small realm of Athara, a land constantly being conquered or liberated by neighboring kingdoms. Her father was an elven craftsman and her mother was the daughter of a local merchant. The two kept their relationship a secret, Athara's overlord at the time frowned upon elves and had disdain for the intermingling of species. When Galaerin was born the two were forced to flee their city and live as wanderers. Depending on where they traveled Galaerin's mother or her father would find work or interact with the locals. Regardless of where they went Galaerin was treated as an outsider, neither and elf nor a human. But, in the wild places she was free of judgement. As such she spent most of her time as a child in the woods.

There she developed a deep understanding and appreciation for nature. When she was old enough to set out on her own Galaerin chose to wander the woods. She met few people in these uncivilized places, but she did meet one who would change her path. An old elf who introduced himself as Velerion, a Druid of the Old Growth. He took Galaerin on as an apprentice and helped her hone her druidic abilities. She soon became a full fledged member of the Old Growth Circle, a loose association of druids who protected the oldest and deepest parts of the woods.

Galaerin served for decades as a protector of the woods. A little over three centuries ago, Galaerin tracked a witch who had been corrupting a stretch of woods to an old and magically powerful cave. There she foolishly stumbled into a trap the witch had set. Galaerin had fallen into a cursed mirror that trapped her in a perfect reflection of the cave's chamber. For years she was tormented and mocked by the witch and forced to watch her perform profane and terrible rites on the inhabitants of the woods and unlucky travelers. But, eventually the witch did not return to the cave and the years turned to centuries. Galaerin found herself neither hungry nor thirsty in the mirror and she had ceased aging. The witches' curse truly unending. With no knowledge of how long she had been trapped or how long she would be trapped, she entered a deep trance.

This trance was only broken when refugees fleeing the Legions of the Undead sought rest in the cave. A curious dwarf had been examining the mirror and knocked it to the ground which sent Galaerin tumbling, free at last. She was shocked to learn of the state of affairs the world now faced. Her calls to the Old Growth Circle go unanswered, and she lacks the skill and ability to end the threat of the Corpse Lord alone. So, Galaerin has left the woods for Thedusta, where she has heard rumors of an attempt to end the Undead blight.

App
Name: Arryn (~Ar'jnaar) Blightshield
Race: Dragonkin
Age: 43
Description:
Image

Personality: Arryn is a stern and righteous character, dedicated to this cause and unwavering in his resolve. His will is more resilient than his scales, which breeds an occasionally stubborn mind.
Abilities: Beyond his physical prowess, Ar'jnaar wields the wavering powers of the Light to empower his strikes, shield the innocent and mend the wounded. As a dragonborn, he can on occasion breathe some blazing hot fire.
Equipment: A set of plate armour, a shield, a greatsword and several javelins.
Bio: Arryn can barely remember the days from his youth, belonging to the Myahejiir tribe of dragonkin deep in the Southern Wastes. He was aimless, merely coasting along the flow of time as he did his part, as he did what he felt - at the time - was what he was meant to do. He lived, fought and bled for his tribe. It was a simple life, wholesome to some, but meaningless to Arryn. Only when he found himself at the precipice of death did he come to realise he needed only reach out for a higher purpose.

The Light accepted the young dragonkin and offered him Its grace, which he wielded in Its name. The dragonkin shrugged off his name and his tribe and baptised himself as Arryn Blightshield.

Answering his true calling, Arryn devoted himself to studying the occult and transmundane. He struck down warlocks, defiant wizards and insane sorceress in the name of purity and divine retribution. But, despite his devotion, evil marched on relentlessly. It trampled on the weak and strong alike and twisted their bodies into mindless slaves, and Arryn was but one of the dwindling Servants the Light. Though determined and dedicated, he was no fool and fought no fights he could not win. With all his might he attempted to protect every soul he could until he ended up Thedusta, exhausted from many skirmishes.

As he feels the Light flicker inside of him, Arryn can only have faith.

So, eight, possibly nine characters? That's quite a lot to keep track of. It's a good thing that half of them are probably going to drop out in the first week. :p
