Country: In international contexts, the country refers to itself as Norden (English: the Nordic States). It is a union of five member nations collectively governed by the Nordisk Råd (English: Nordic Council): Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland.
Population: The total number of citizens of the Nordic States is 36.29 millions. Due to strongly positive net migration, the population is steadily increasing - especially in Scandinavia - despite sub-replacement levels of fertility. Immigration has, in addition, led to significant changes in the composition of the demographic, with 24% of the populace now identifying as Muslim. Life expectancy remains high at well above 90 years - another factor in population growth.
GDP: 2,945 billion real (1990) international dollars, or 81,144 per capita. Norden has an extremely complex, advanced, and diverse economy. The Nordic economy is not known for its specialty in particular industries.
Leader: Sven Jensen, Secretary General of the Nordic Council. He occupies this prestigious, if somewhat limited, position primarily due to his de-facto authority as the leading voice in the Nordic Labour Party.
Age: At forty-three years of age, Sven Jensen is generally considered somewhat young for a Secretary General of the Nordic Council.
Picture: (...is this really relevant?)
Height: 1.72 meters
Allies: None. Norden maintains and have always maintained since the 2030s a strictly neutral foreign policy.
Enemies: None. See above.
Active Duty: Norden does not maintain a large military. All considered the Armed Forces contains some 110,000 personnel. The Armed Forces makes up in quality what it lacks in size. The Armed Forces' 110,000 personnel, split roughly evenly between the army and the air force (the navy is considerably smaller), is highly trained and extremely well-equipped, with extensive automation and mechanisation evident in every aspect of the military. Unlike many other wealthy nations, Norden generally does not do interventions in the developing world, and its military doctrine is focused towards the maintenance of its sovereignty and territorial claims.
Reserves: Norden does not maintain a military reserve force. The Nordic military is staffed entirely by volunteers, although there are mechanisms in place to permit a general draft of the populace in case of war.
Tanks: The Nordic Armed Forces does not have tanks, but does have three divisions of mechanised infantry complete with mobile artillery.
Helicopters: The Nordic Armed Forces maintains some 350 helicopters, used primarily for supply and reinforcements.
Attack Helicopters: The helicopters fielded by the Nordic Armed Forces lie on a spectrum from heavily armed to disarmed, with no clear binary distinction. Depending on what exactly constitutes an attack helicopter, the Nordic Armed Forces can be considered to be fielding some 20 to 150 attack helicopters.
Fixed Wing aircraft: The Nordic Armed Forces in theory maintains 658 fixed wing aircraft, mostly consisting of light bombers, but due to requirements in maintenance, repairs, replacements, and upgrades, can during peacetime only field some 200 or 300 at any given point in time.
Fighters: The Nordic Armed Forces in theory maintains 1,524 fighters. In reality, due to time requirements in maintenance, repairs, replacements, and upgrades, at any given point in time the Nordic Armed Forces can immediately field some 600 or 700 fighters.
Space Fighters: 36. The Nordic military maintains three wings of 12 fighters each.
Space Destroyers: 0. The Nordic military does not field space destroyers.
Space Cruisers: 2. The NRS Sverige and the NRS Norge are both capable of leading independent operations, although compared to similar vessels fielded by other countries they are rather small.
Space Carriers: 0. The Nordic military does not field space carriers, although both Space Cruisers are somewhat capable of maintaining subsidiary fighters.
War Satellites: 6, primarily for the purposes of reconnaissance and surveillance.
Sea Carriers: 0. The Nordic military does not field naval carriers.
Cruisers: 4 total, including 3 cruisers and 1 heavy cruiser
Destroyers: 14 destroyers, with one more under construction
Submarines: 7 total, consisting of 2 SSBNs, a reconnaissance submarine and 4 combat submarines.
Nukes: Yes. Norden possesses 19 nuclear weapons, of which all are considered strategic warheads. Although the Nordic nuclear stockpile is rather small compared to other nuclear powers, it is also highly advanced and is a complete nuclear triad. There are 6 submarine-launched missiles maintained in two nuclear submarines, 6 intermediate-range ballistic missiles carried on road-capable mobile missile launchers, 2 intercontinental ballistic missiles stored in a launch silo of confidential location, and 5 scattered in airbases around the country with aerial bombers.
Interplanetary Weapons: No. Norden does not possess weapons capable of interplanetary range.
Nation History: With the collapse of the European Union, the Nordic Council, which has been dormant since the early cold war because its main intended functions began being served by the precursors of the European Union, emerged as the strongest supranational organisation in northern Europe, and, because its legal framework was already well established at that point, began to serve the purpose that the European Union once served to the nations of the Nordic Bloc. Because of the influence of diplomatically neutral Sweden and Finland in the overall foreign policy goals of the Nordic Council, Denmark, Norway, and Iceland weakened their commitments to their former military allies in favour of building a strong and neutral Northern European bloc, with these three nations leaving NATO in the late 2040s. This process was accelerated by public outrage over the Danish Venstre-DKF government's decision to transfer de-jure sovereignty over Greenland to Canada in order to cover their government deficit, which resulted in a strong decline of the pro-NATO Conservative bloc and a strong rise of anti-North American sentiments. Furthermore, the successful Swedish nuclear test in 2044 gave the other Nordic States strong confidence that a neutral northern European bloc would be capable of militarily protecting its own freedom and independence. Over the next forty years, the Council became the de-facto common government of these five countries, with more overarching authority than the former European Union ever possessed. Although the three Baltic observer states left the Council in resistance to this closer integration, the Nordic States' relations with the former observer states of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania remain quite warm, with multiple preferential trade agreements being signed between them.

Nation History: During the Syrian refugee crisis, thousands of undocumented people entered Germany. This eventually came back to haunt Germany later. Over the next decade, scores of suicide bombers, shootings, and terror attacks plagued Germany, killing hundreds of people. The German people, tired of never ending attacks and the military superiority of France allowed by Merkel and her party, elected a far right leader in 2032, ending the lefts 30 year control of Germany. The new leader, Franz Dicler, gradually cancelled all agreements that limited German military expenditure over the next decade, with bribes, different alliances, and promises of peace keeping and solidarity. Under the new German leadership, the military boomed, being allowed to recruit and build almost as much as they want. In 2087, Germany established a compulsory military service for any person that was 18- or 19 years old. In 2101, the Fourth Reich was proclaimed, even though the nation is still democratic. The Fourth Reich has lived in peace for the past 16 years. ( I know this is shitty but I don't feel like writing right now)

I mean, it's only Logical for China to ascend to primal number two spot with its pop and population. (Unless America pulled some MURICA FUCK YEA shit it would honesty be number one, or China doesn't want to be a superpower, which it probably does.)

Now, that's the case now. However, it's foolish to assume it'll last forever. Especially with a Democratic China, which probably has overall better relations with Asia now. Especially with the Annexation of Taiwan and all its goodies. (AKA tech, though by 2050's probably not needed)

I never said you couldn't be a power but you wouldn't knock the US off number 1.
