A Life Lost, for Another Gained…

The world is a dark and cruel place. Your loved ones grieve for your corpse, as it is laid to rest, whatever remains of it at least. The world is further more left in the dark, you have been taken to it and your life ripped from your body before it had even begun to live.

Woe to those whom have befallen such misfortune in their youth and adolescence. Woe to those you have left behind young soul, your heart and your character were seen as true and kind to those whom miss you now. You could never have fathomed in life what now they around you have lost in your death.

Not that any of that matters to you now, not that it ever mattered in the first place. While indeed your loss from this mundane place and realm you call Earth, is a shame to those left behind, woe to them who know not what lies ahead for you.

Your place is no longer among the stars of that place called reality, but in my world, the world of Laancris, where my children have sown the seeds of ill fortune. Go now, for your place is no longer among the lost nor the dead, but in the light of a new world. This is your destiny, your fate, your purpose.

Your character has died a terribly tragic death, the death of one taken from our world far too soon. It’s a fair enough thing then that the Four Divines would see you adrift in the Void and determine you, among others like yourself, to be worthy of rebirth into Laancris.
Image

It's the name of the game. All of the player characters have died here on Earth far too young to have been considered for having lived a full life. Stating this, the player characters are individuals whom are morally just or good or whom were not inherently evil or corrupted.

The four deities of this world that have aligned themselves against the Corruption now place their hopes, and their favor, in your characters. They have given to them the right to do what none have been able to do before, to be reborn into a body. They have given the characters a chance at rebirth.

There are a total of four major races, the four races being the Faefulk, the Unterfulk, the Viehfulk, and the Munfulk. Each race utilizes a specific set of traits and talents taken from the patron deity of their race. The only exception are the Munfulk, whom in being the one race with the least affiliation to the Divine Ones, has the ability to seek out One of Darkness, though this is highly forbidden.

The Fae
Children of the One of Water, patrons of all flora and fauna in Laancris, the Fae are known for their incredible longevity and their notable intellectual capacity, coupled with incredible powers of deduction and natural resistances to poisons and toxins. Their major weaknesses come in the form of their naturally highly empathetic state to living things around them and likewise, while oft being able to heal using blessings from One of Water, they often become empathetic to the pain being felt and experience it themselves to a degree.

Fae have dozens if not hundreds of known subspecies, cultures, and races. All across Laancris, they move in the shadows beneath trees, in the waters of the rivers and creeks, and with the wind in the leaves. They are nature incarnate and sentient and they are the ones most capable of becoming in tune with their surroundings. Highly xenophobic by nature and reluctant to let outsiders into their forests and groves, they are considered the most protected against the Corruption in spite of being perhaps the most susceptible.

Among their humanoid races, many of which now are sending members to join Palatinus, there are treants and spriggans. The very literal personification of plants come alive, these beings are incredibly dangerous to those whom they feel are against One of Water and will not hesitate to kill. They are seen as highly empathetic creatures and their very nature makes them the most in tune with their goddess.

Following the races of sentient plant-life, there are the druidic races, ranging from giants and shapeshifters to centaurs and anything inbetween. While most often mistaken for Viehfulk, it's best not to say so in front of them as they are a proud race. Born mostly humanoid, they grow into their either titanic size or strength and are super sensitive. Their natural desire to pull from One of Water is what defines them as Faefulk and their incredibly powerful magics prove their ability and natural talent.

The Ilva are the most humanoid in appearance and appear like normal Mundanes, but feature the pointed ears and sharp features of the Ilva themselves. As members of the Fae, they tend to share a strong connection with nature, but must meditate often on their surroundings in order to be in tune with One of Water. Their natural physical prowess and dexterity has turned most into excellent artists, musicians, and writers, using their highly developed brains for the use of affecting the moods, and in some cases the thoughts, of those around them.

Finally, the Impen, perhaps among the most elusive yet surprisingly common numbers of Fae present, the Impen include all manner of Fae, from hobgoblin and brownie, to the trolls and pixies and everything in between. They are dangerous creatures to associate with, powerful in magic and rivaling even the treants and the spriggans in connections with nature. Their small size however makes them unsuitable for use outside of their zone and are not able to become members of Palatinus.

You have been Chosen, Though the Choice was Yours…

Welcome to the land of the living once again young friends. We were told you’d be coming, though we’d not expected anything like this. Quickly, come, you must be assessed and oriented to this new world. Blood oaths and holy sacraments must be taken, protection from the Corruption must be offered forth to you so that you may join our ranks.

To some of you, the world is new in texture, in flavor, in sights and sounds. To others it will feel safe and familiar. Do not be lulled into this sense of false complacency, for there is much amiss. Notice how some of you no longer possess even your bodies you had in death? Here now you have come, given the lives of those whom had nothing left to give. Their sacrifice must not be made in vain.

You are no longer children of ill-fated destiny, you are a beacon of hope in this world. The lands you come from are far and foreign to us. Your tongue is new and there is nothing of ours that isn’t. Caution you must exercise until you have learned the laws and customs of these lands. Fear not though, for you shall carry our banner forth into the world, for you all are of Palatinus.[size]
Given the choice to come to this land, you now have been reborn. You, however, in this new state are weak and while the bodies to provide are many, the opportunity to properly protect them before they must be dealt with is nearing its close. We need your help more than ever, and you need life more than ever. This, above all things, is a second chance to truly live and fulfill a purpose in your life.

Together you shall Rise, Alone you shall Fall…

The world as you know it is no more. This is Laancris, a land of magic, filled with the beings your kind would have called Elves and Dwarves and Beastmen. There are others, the ones that we cannot speak of in the light. Their presence is the abomination of the Four Divine Ones. Work not alone against them, for while allies are everywhere, so too in their shadows lie those whom would see your untimely departure from our realm.

Quickly, hasten to unite the lands of Laancris, assemble the armies of Humanity, the Covens of the Faefulk, the hordes of the Beastmen, and the legions of the Unterfulk. Together we can see the filth of the Corruption that plagues our land, exterminated once and for all. Alone though, no race, nor creed, nor walk of life will see another era, for the darkness will consume all and the world shall grow and still beneath their reign.

The world is a place now determined to destroy you, your friends, and your family here in Palatinus. Only united can you stand the test of the tides, steadfast and strong against the oppression of the Corruption. This is the world of Laancris, this is the place where you shall truly determine your fate.

Let your light Shine, Become the beacon of our Hope.

Tell us more of yourself, let us know you for all of your worth young one. Let us believe in your legend-to-be, your songs-to-be-sung, your tales-of-valour-and-honour. No matter your humble start Paladin- no, Hero, we wish to know it, for the depths of your depravity in the lives before this one shall serve as all that higher a height to aspire to.

Let us sing tales of your distant homelands, let us aspire to dream of such foreign and alien locales and their citizens. Let us think upon their philosophy, their philanthropy, their society. Only by divulging every last detail may you truly let us know the great potential and weight you intend to carry. You are our hope, our dreams, our greatest aspirations.

So let your fate be great. Let your character be great. Above all things, let Laancris too, become great again. The world waits for you oh young traveler between worlds, and between lives. Perhaps we should prepare for the coming of the end of the Corruption sooner than later?

Taggity tag tag.
I use my NationStates stats, because a population of billions/trillions and an economy of hundreds of trillions is totally viable, trust me.
But seriously, aside from the population and GDP, just assume that my NS stats are roughly accurate.

Support: Paleo-imperialism, conservatism, libertarianism, Christianity.
Against: Stupid people, resistance to industrial progress, alt-right, any form of government at or beyond socialism.

Very much so, the irony of the project is that much of it was prebuilt as part of a different story. However, because of the adhoc nature of this RP, I literally don't have to provide you any of the material beforehand. In fact, it's probably better if not preferred that I don't.

Tag. I'm here. Not sure what characters I'm going to play, I'd probably play as a ninja or samurai or knight.

This has peaked my interest, tagging it.
I believe that madness can find more madness, and that every ounce of madness has a spark of truth. And truth, as you know, has a way of depressing people who don't want to find it.

Well, the thing with this iteration is that there are no ninjas, or samurais, or knights... at least to start. Everyone's starting out on pretty much the same playing field. New bodies, no experience, no job. Their only affiliation is with Palatinus which even then is a small organization which outside of legend has little to no pull right now.

Wouldn't be an app if there wasn't. The application's mostly freeform. Make it as you will. You can even do it in the form of some sort of intro post. Anyways, whatever you want to do, it'll work, because it won't step on the boundaries that have been set outside your points of view.

I noticed that race is a customizable feature, what exactly are the races that will be represented in this? More so, what races can we play as?

It's in the OP I believe.

All are adolescents, so don't think you're getting in too good.

Unterfulk are dwarves, but more tan, bigger than humans by a solid foot, and weigh in the hundreds of pounds of muscle and flesh. They're essentially more powerful Humans.

Faefulk are any of the enchanted beasts and beings of nature. From Treants to wisps, but for this sake, you're limited to mostly Humanoid species, Dryads and Spriggans might be made a partial exemption.

Humans are as Humans always have been.

Beastfulk are kemonomimi. Plain and simple. They lie in the giant sizes though, extremely powerful and tribal in roots, they usually sport tattoos or have their hair fashioned in a certain way to ensure their lineage is recognized.

But Edwin didn't know about this, and so did with his brothers and his step-sisters. While his father groomed his eldest son as the successor, the maid was married to his father as his second wife. Unknown to all of them, Edwin who was 17 at that time when he and the maid married each other, fell in love with a girl whose 2 years younger and turned out to be the second child of his father and the maid. They both fell in love deeply and promised each other for an eternal love together.

But things come to an end, when his father and the maid revealed that all of them are siblings of same father. Naturally, while his love finally realized that they it would be incest, she, deeply heartbroken, broke up the engagements between the two. Unable to face the harsh truth, he turned bad and he went mad as he killed his father and two of his older brothers and escaped with the girl who he loved. For the next 10 years, he lived happily until the girl who he loved committed suicide because of the depressed and the sins. Unable to lived with it, he killed himself.

What kind of history that needs to be filled, Kass? I'm not quite sure I understand the lore.

None actually, you just need to give a little background on who your character was before they died and were reborn into their new body on Laancris.

The basic idea behind the plot is, here on Earth, you were one of the unfortunate children or youths or adolescents, someone in the prime of their life whom had it cut short. Before you even had a chance to live, you died. In doing so, the gods of a world known as Laancris have given you the option (which you have taken) to be reborn into the body of one of their acolytes and serve an organization known as Palatinus to defeat the evil bads. You really don't know much more than that. I, however, know everything. ^^

"Put that down, Mr. Eric." He said. "She's obviously not a chicken."
