It could blow up pretty easily. I'm looking forward to the new Godzilla movie and that's about it. Nothing else that really looks that big, not to mention that Summer movies are typically actions, which is one of my lesser favorites. Winter's always a good time for movies.

Toho Godzilla is Best Godzilla.

Yeah, except it's being by die-hard Toho Godzilla fans, and from the releases, Godzilla from that movie is based heavily off Godzilla 2000 from the Toho Godzilla movies of the previous decade.

You know what would be interesting? A fantasy RP where players are not allowed to play as the same boring humanoid races. You must be some sort of monster race. I think that could be fun if given the right plot. :)

I'm considering a Civil War based RP that is part free-form part dice roll (like my Battletech RP has become). The game would be an alternaty starting in March of 1862 during the Peninsula Campaign where the war really kicked off. Each player would start as the Colonel of their own infantry regiment in either the USA Army of the Potomac or CSA Army of Northern Virginia and maybe players that do well or lucky will get promoted to command Brigades and divisions or even the army if the RP gets big enough and they stick it out.

The RP would have a system by which people could customize not only their own characters but the soldiers they command by giving them traits. There would be three kinds of traits which are positive, neutral, and negative ones and a few traits that would only be available at certain points in the RP. Most traits will be related to each other somehow and there will be some sort of simple experience system.

Commander traits would apply to every unit under their command thus a brigade commander would apply his traits to the regiment of every player beneath them. Some examples of traits for commanders would be:
Positive: Valiant - valiant commanders inspire their soldiers to hold steady even when morale begins to fall short and push them to achieve their objectives in the most adverse conditions.

Nuetral: Brash - Brash commanders are brave and daring and can sometimes inspire their soldiers to hold steady even when morale begins to fall short. However they may also inspire their soldiers to rash action which could reduce a well formed plan to ruin.

Negative: Impetuous - Impetuous commanders are brave and daring to the point of suicide, their soldiers are often inspired to take rash actions in an attempt to gain glory and victory but they more often than not end in disaster when this happens.

Unit traits would apply only to the unit itself and some examples would be:
Positive:
Regular - Regular units are rare in this war but the few that do fight are usually highly distinguished. Regular soldiers rather than starting out as Green experience begin with a special experience level called Regular which bestows upon them the morale and organization bonuses of a Veteran unit but not the fighting skills.

Zouave - Zouave units are known for their fancy dress and cavalier style of combat drill. They gain bonus morale and even increase the morale of friendly units in the same Brigade.

Neutral:
Light Infantry - Light Infantry are specialist skirmishers and gain combat skill bonuses during short quick battles and their loose formations reduce the damage they take from artillery. However their same loose formations make them susceptible in close combat and make in combat maneuvers more difficult, they also begin to suffer from poor unit cohesion in protracted engagements.

Extended Enlistments - Part of this unit consists of veteran soldiers who were shifted to it either when their unit was dissolved or the enlistment terms of their fellow soldiers from the old unit where completed. While these soldiers improve the skill of the regiment they are part of they also have a negative effect on morale as they are unhappy with their fate and tend to be insubordinate.

Negative:
Conscripts - The men of this regiment were drafted and they aren't happy about it. They suffer from poor morale when compared to volunteers and are less organized.

Units would have attributes that would come into effect during battles I'm currently thinking they will be: Combat, Morale, and Drill and the experience levels (Green, Regular, Blooded, and Veteran) would improve those skills further. Combat relates to how well the unit fights, morale relates to how long a unit will keep fighting even if they know they will lose, and Drill is the unit's ability to move under fire and remain in formation.

Anywho I'm looking for any commentary or ideas and possible co-ops.

To my knowledge most of the expatriates were Irish and ended up fighting for the Union in units like the 69th New York Infantry Volunteers aka the Fighting 69th as this was only 8 years after the Great Famine had ended. But this is an alternative history RP idea so you could have an expat regiment from anywhere on either side.
