Yes, because I should totally be expected to stick around when nobody else gives two shits.

Might be because it's 1 AM, but I've ceased to give two shits about anything.
Probably because nobody else can think of how to make professionals interesting. Apparently nobody here watches Stargate. Or Star Trek.

Would be nice if everyone else did the same.
When I put effort into something, and do half the work for everyone else so they don't have to do the same, I'd appreciate it if people actually gave enough of a damn to stay as accurate with it as possible.
And TIE, it's just easier to say "everyone" when only one (and sometimes two, like Jackie) aren't off in their own little worlds where a complete unprofessional can manage to land a position at ISSR.

Night, remember that rule you made?
Now would be an excellent application of said rule.
Nat: Night's always in some bizarre state somewhere between "intoxicated enough to kill a hair metal lead singer" and "annoying Mormon missionary sober".
Swith: It's because you're so awesome. God himself refreshes the screen before he types just to see if Nightkill has written anything while he was off somewhere else.

Wait, let's stop for a second here.
The characters we have are Crawford, Jade, Mary, Erik, Gopher, Cameraman 2 (a joke), Howard, Yuzuki, Christopher, and other NPCs I can't remember because they don't stand out.
Gopher, Cameraman 2, and Howard aren't with the ISSR. Their unprofessionalism is excused. Yuzuki and Jade aren't with the ISSR - their unprofessionalism is excused. This leaves Crawford, Mary, Erik, Christopher, and the NPCs.
The closest any of these have gotten to being unprofessional was Erik arguing a small bit with Crawford about science, and it didn't escalate at all.
And then Christopher and the other NPC soldier people I don't remember are screaming at them because of this.
I'm...I'm not seeing your reasoning here.

-coughs- I don't know how many professional scientists you've met, but they tend to be a bit scatterbrained (at least in my experience, having met... nine or ten? Plus a couple mathematicians). As for actual military, I think we had one character that wasn't hired (by great probability) for their magyks or came of their own will and demanded to be let on.
Also... protocol and professionalism are one thing, but... Willing Suspension of Disbelief, Hard. Some people got hired; the reason why isn't important, because they're there and the backstory wasn't completely fleshed out. They may have become less disciplined from the unadulterated Chaos of Pandemonium, or other things.

Scatterbrained is one thing, and I can accept it.
Crawford, on the other hand, I can't accept in any way, shape, or form, and other characters have fallen to the same level as well.
And it's been implied by Night that at least most of the soldiers at the ISSR are professionals, which implies the scientists would be as well. The fact it's located in Hell supports that theory, but apparently I'm the only one who has noticed.
And if you can't see how arguments in a sealed vehicle wouldn't be an issue, you really shouldn't be in any sort of vehicle ever.
