A day that would go down in the history books: Well, at least the history books of the newly founded Caribbean League, formed out of the Republic of Haiti and the Dominican Republic, on that day. An election is held, and a new President is chosen: Enrique L. Reigez from the Dominican Republic. Then, life continues on as usual for the citizens of the League.

January 4th, 2032
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
(President Reigez is leaning on a balcony outside of a new government building, built on the coast to house the new combined government. Gazing out at the sea, he does not notice one of the Prime Minister's aids, Stephen, walking up to him.)

Stephen: *ahem* "Sir?"

Reigez: "Hmm? Oh, Stephen. I assume you have the Prime Minister's response?"

Stephen: "Yes, sir, right here."

(Stephen hands Reigez a letter. It says, in a much longer and more political way than this: "I agree")

Reigez: "Good. Tell the Prime Minister to arrange a meeting between me, him, and the President of Cuba, to discuss bringing Cuba into the League. We'll have this meeting in about, say, 6 months."

Stephen: "Yes, sir."

(Stephen walks back into the building, and Reigez turns around and leans back onto the railing, once again becoming lost in thought.)

Economic surge in Venezuela

Despite the war in the south, the new ambitiousness of the government of Venezuela has investors confident their assets could be very beneficial in Venezuela due to the half tax rate for immigrants, which has resulted in a huge influx in just a few mere months. The docks, just the first in a set of Venezuelan economical and military plans has been finished, being almost identical in size to all of the ports in Shanghai combined.

It is over ten times faster than Wi-fi, it cannot be interfered with like radio waves can, and it is ten thousand times the frequency spectrum of radio. The main issue is that it has lower range. From the emitter, it can only move ten meters compared to wifi's 32 meters. But here is the thing, the emitter is an LED light bulb. Here's how it works: An LED lightbulb fitted with signal-processing technology streams data embedded in its beam at the speed of light to a photo-detector, a receiver then converts the tiny changes in amplitude into an electrical signal, which is then converted back into a data stream and is transmitted to any internet using device. A company in the United States was working on this decades ago, but they went bankrupt and the project was scrapped."

Satellite Is Having Problems

The SASA works on launching one of their first satellites as a test run across the Earth before moving on to a planet, they still have a few kinks to work on. First of all, the solar panels. They don't function even when out in sunlight and sometimes even sparks and explodes. Granted this is a prototype but even for something like this, this shouldn't have that many faults to fix. Next is the fuel tank. We have seen the tank rupture on the test flight and I think we might have figured out why. It seems the material we use is too weak for the tank to survive upon exiting or entering orbit at high speeds. We will need to find a new material that can have better protection and more heat resistance. Lastly is the camera on the dang thing. I know this might not be a big deal but when we need to capture photos or footage of the planet, we need to make sure it always works, not having it break down on the verge of a possible scientific breakthrough. We will find a way to improve the probe overall. These were just the important ones we had to get out of the way first. There are many more issues plaguing the satellite that are not important but very frustrating overall. I hope you enjoyed reading our daily article. Ahmed laughed at the thought of men fishing when they were supposed to be fighting. it was certainly unprofessional of the navy, but if the army could afford prostitutes then the navy could fish for salmon for no reason. as he entered the bridge, it was manned only by a handful of souls, the shiny consoles and controllers glistened off the sunlight that poured in through the main box strip of windows that provided warmth. sitting in the command seat, he was disappointed as it creaked a tad, but did not say anything else. after sitting there for a while, he entered the planning room, where a number of the other captains of the ships sat there.

President Zachary Axalis has requested to see progress on the new Special Forces military base and on the projects they have begun work on. From Paris, they fly for over an hour before reaching Area 11. Along with Axalis, many other government officials are expected to be there. As they approach the base, anti-aircraft missiles are pointed at the plane. Once they land, armed men step up to the vehicle and point their weapons at the plane. Axalis and the pilot step out, both show their IDs, and they are cleared to enter the base. They drive through a long tunnel into Area 11 on a jeep. Once Axalis arrives into the base, he is directed into the main testing facility.

<Maxwell> "Ah! You're here, I hope you had a good flight."

<Axalis> "I did, the Alps are beautiful this time of year."

<Maxwell> "Agreed. I would like to show you the progress on our Ares weapons and various other projects."

<Axalis> "Excellent."

They walk into a loud room with engineers working on various vehicles.

He has to raise his voice to be heard
<Maxwell> "This is the Ares Tank as far as we have it."

One of the engineers steps in and begins to slowly move it into a "showroom"

<Maxwell> "I have given you the gist of the capabilities of this tank, but this time you'll get a more... in depth view."

They walk into the showroom, it is filled with government officials from around the Union. Around one-hundred in total. Axalis takes a seat next to Nobel, Maxwell walks up to the tank on stage.

<Maxwell> "The Ares-CT11 Tank has taken large focus as part of the Ares Project. It has been developed by Special Forces with cooperation from the French Defense Systems, is the tank that will revolutionize the world. It weighs 35 tons, 7 meters long, 3.8 meters wide, 2.8 meters high, and is operated by a three-man crew. Using adaptive technology, the hexagonal plates on the surface can adjust temperature to ambient levels, rendering the tank nearly invisible to infrared senors."

A monitor above the stage flips on and shows a infrared camera in the back of the room. The heat of the crowd and Maxwell can be seen, but the tank cannot.

<Maxwell> "The tank also features 350 degrees of observation capabilities during the day and night. Comprised of a chassi with an unmanned turret, with an auto-loading 120 mm cannon, it is intended to act as a fire-support combat vehicle. We are expecting to begin production 2037, and we will begin exporting it to allies in 2041."

The crowd erupts in cheers and claps. After the presentation, Maxwell leaves the room with Axalis to continue showing him the progress of Special Forces.

<Axalis> "Very impressive presentation, Maxwell. I trust that whenever they can be shown, Ares Jets, Battleships, and Helicopters can be shown along with Mercury Jets, they will be just as impressive."

<Maxwell> "Yes, they will. However, both jets have proven extremely difficult to execute and will take a while longer to make them show ready."

<Axalis> "Ah, I see."

They walk into a room very different from the rest of the base, with computer monitors on the walls with models and numbers, thirty people are working in this room.

<Maxwell> "President Axalis, I would like you to meet Neil Aldrin, leader of all militaristic affairs in space."

They shake hands.
<Aldrin> "Good to finally meet your, President Axalis."
He turns to the monitors.
<Aldrin> "So far, we have nine satellites in space having to do with the military, all of which are Thanatos. Collaborating with the FSA has been difficult, as Tyson doesn't like having weapons in orbit and believes space should be for science only, which I partially agree with. Although, in uncertain times like these, defense is essential. We are planning on launching several more over the next few months, hopefully we will be able to get at least one or two Thor satellites in orbit by 2035."

<Axalis> "Hmm... interesting... I am very excited about these Projects, please call me back if you have anything else to show me."

Axalis exits the building and flies back to Paris.

Peruvian Front

The well-equipped Venezuelan army, under personal orders from Commander Carlos Magnolo (the commander of 'Yizel' and the main figurehead in this war) begins attempting to surround the 'inferior' Peruvian army, the Fuerzespeciales splitting into one large division and three smaller ones, each about a third of the larger one's size. Immediately, backed up by the main division the Fuerzespeciales begin cutting off Peruvian supplies, killing off stray units and placing motion sensors throughout the vast jungles of Colombia and north Peru.

Meanwhile back at home, the Venezuelan economy thrives, grows and evolves, vehicles being domestically produced and exported, oil trade slowing down as to try and keep the environment cleaner while this massive industrialisation is going on. Never before seen in an South American country, Venezuela has decided to entirely disregard it's Amazonian regions and has begun setting up large industrial complexes there, except areas which contain too much wildlife to be deemed ethical.

To make up for this environmental damage, Venezuelan workers have been ordered to plant a hundred trees for every factory, and there has been a movement raising awareness among the young of Venezuela, some organisations endorsing Venezuela's long term economic plans.

L - "It would be armed with a saw, explosives, and just enough fuel to get to the target."
T - "Would they attack in swarms?"
L - "Depends on the situation."
T - "Interesting. What's the next idea?"
L - "Just in advance, I didn't do all the math on this one. But in a nutshell, why keep the supersonic, out in the sky?"

Months have passed since the League's formation, and things are going well. Preparations for the Meeting between Cuba's president and President Reigez, alongside Prime Minister Marie Crescant are going smoothly. However, as some economists within the government point out, the League's GDP is somewhat lacking, especially when compared to their population size. Because of this, the Prime Minister has decided to start negotiating trade deals with other islands in the Caribbean, alongside sending a letter to nearby major powers.

The Cuban dictator, Montel Castro, has denied the request to join the Caribbean League despite almost 60% of his country wanting to gain allies. The regime of Castro has become increasingly oppressive over the past years, being guilty of systematic human rights abuses, including arbitrary imprisonment, unfair trials, and extrajudicial execution. Cuba has been communist for years, but a democratic revolution is stirring in the country spearheaded by Fraco Basco, with mass support from the population. The Revolution has begun with the Second Republic of Cuba declaring independence. This new Republic supports integration into the League and controls much of east Cuba. The Second Cuban Civil War has begun.

The Peruvian military has been pushed back to their original borders, due to support from the troops that were invading Ecuador. The President of Peru has sent a request to Venezuela to end this war on a white peace. However, a large revolution movement has started in South America. Simply named the "American Freedom Movement", they are battling both the Latin Union and Venezuela to release Chile, Uruguay, Ecuador, and to stop the war with Peru. This is a massive movement that will not be stopped easily, with it getting violent in some places such as Montevideo.

The results are in for the election. It seems as though the winner of the election is David Mitchell, with 67% of the population voting for him.

Now that Mitchell is in office, it is time for him to decide on what to do. He decides to make the researchers work on a cure to Diabetes and Cancer. Meanwhile, the peaceful Treaty is all benefiting from peacetime and not at war with anyone. The economy is growing steadily and jobs are doing fine with half of our citizens at least getting a professional degree due to college being free along with university entry being at a low cost. Healthcare is doing well as we had just received new medical tech from the RnD Labs. There is also an experimental piece of tech called the Guardian Angel. This experiment works like this. In the event that the body needs a new heart or some important organ, to keep the body alive, they will be filled with nanobots keeping the body alive by checking the systems and making sure the patient doesn't lose consciousness completely, otherwise he or she is dead.

The Italian government is planning on building new military bases on Malta after the annexation. King Umberto IV cancels his trip to France due to ongoing election there. The Debates between who will become the leader of the French Union strengthen in the months leading up to the election. Once delegates are picked from each of the two main parties, the Republicans and the Socialist Party each have a debate several days before voting begins. Zachary Axalis represents the Socialist Party and Lucas Courbet represents the Republicans.

Unemployment is relatively high and our armed forces are not reaching their potential. Under Zachary Axalis, our government has wasted billions of Francs in space exploration. Times are dangerous, with wars being declared left and right, Our military is in a sad state compared to the potential it has. Asian powers continue to grow, while the west is sitting in the corner doing nothing. Our military will be unstoppable, our economy a powerhouse, and our union growing. Under my leadership, our country will have the status it was meant too, a global superpower."

<Axalis> "France is indeed an incredible nation that has been very influential in its history. I do agree that France does not increase its full potential, but do you believe more military build-up will help us? Under my government, France has pushed the boundaries of innovation and science; something that Lucas Courbet would throw away as 'a waste of money'. You are focused on build up, while I am focused on innovation. Even our military, something you conveyed across as being appalling, has a substantial chunk of its spending going towards the innovation of new technologies. Poisson Alcubierre, Foreign minister for France, has decided to send an email to Italy and the Scandinavian Treaty with a request of an alliance. After he gets approval from President Zachary Axalis and Parliament, he begins writing.

Dear leaders of the Scandinavian Treaty and Kingdom of Italy,

Hello. I am the Foreign Minister for the French Union, Poisson Alcubierre.

As we are three nations with similar cultures, politics, and influence in the world. I thought it to be fit for our nations to form a close alliance, militarily, diplomatically, economically and politically as part of the Global Aegis Federation with the United States and Japanese Empire.

The French Union is rapidly growing in influence, and can provide a door into Central European, American, and Asian markets for the businesses of the Scandinavians and Italians. An economic alliance beginning with a free-trade agreement and the relaxing of tarrifs and regulations would help achieve this aim. Increasing trade with the rapidly-growing markets of the alliance would prove to be lucrative for you both.

Politically, the Italians, Scandinavians, and French have much in common, and I think it to be a good idea for our nations to have some joint political organisations, such as meetings between our MPs in Paris with members from the US and Japan. But this is not necessary.

Our nations should support each other diplomatically, and come to each others aid by voicing support for the actions of the other nation. For instance, if the Scandinavian Treaty or Kingdom of Italy invades a certain nation, the French Union shall support it (not necessarily with arms). And vice-versa. That is, unless the aggressor is committing human right violations, then they will lose support.

And a military alliance whole benefit both of our nations, the French Union, Japanese Empire, and United States of America would defend the Kingdom of Italy and Scandinavian tTreaty if they came under foreign attack and vise-versa. We will conduct joint military drills, training exercises and operations, and coordinate with each other regarding the development of advanced weaponry for the two nations.

Zachary Axalis, newly re-elected President of the French Union, has called a press conference in Paris with several announcements. This is televised across the Union.

<Axalis> "Greetings to the French Union! I am your president, Zach Axalis. First and foremost, I would like to thank the people of this union for putting me in office for another five years, I assure you that the promises I made for innovation will come to fruition. We have several announcements tonight, so I would like to go through them one-by-one."

"Our first is that our positive reaction at the French Space Administration has begun work on a Mars mission and is expected to launch by 2035, putting a boot on Mars is the first priority of the Administration at the moment, they plan on working with all nations in the Global Aegis Federation for this goal."

"Secondly, is that we have plans for the city of Avlose, planned to be the capital of the business and technological world, rivaling even that of Singapore and Hong Kong. In the center will be the Union Spire, a symbol of unity and innovation. Around it will be a fusion reactor which is expected to power much of the city. We have a planned 6 universities, some of the best funded in the world, planned for construction in the city."

"Third, I would like to announce an education reform that has taken place in Parliament, changing from an age-based system to a skill-based system. I believe this is how it should always have been, no other part of human society like this is purely-age based. Along with the education reform that happened two years prior, children will be learning faster and more efficiently then ever before. Along with this, the education budget is getting a substantial increase, as is the healthcare system in this country.

"Our final announcement is that the French Thermonuclear Reactor has produced a reaction over ten times what we put in, the original goal of the project. Our nation has been nearly independent from the middle east for decades now, in 2014 we were 77% reliant on nuclear and that has spiked to 92% in recent years. LCB L'Ouverture, Pointe Quest Naval Base, Haiti.

After nearly a month's worth of preparations, the First Caribbean Fleet, led by the LCB L'Ouverture, is finally ready to proceed with it's attack. The fleet, alongside an entourage of landing craft carrying a total of 50,000 men and the League's only aircraft carrier, is en-route to the Island of Cuba. Leading the group is Haitian Admiral Jean Flourent.

Flourent: "Alright, let's go over this one last time. The first group, led by the L'Ouverture, will land in Santa Cruz del Sur, and our accompanying landing craft will reinforce the Second Cuban Republic forces in their push West. Meanwhile, the second group, led by the Dessalines, will move around the mainland of Cuba and escort landing craft straight into Havana, with Air support from the Dominique. Any questions?"

Captain Cleamen(of the Dessalines): "Will we have any support once we've landed in Havana?"

Flourent: "Once the final troops from the first group have landed in del Sur, I will send around the Destroyers Port-au-Prince and Domingo. After that, if you still need support, I'll bring the first group around to Matanzas. As for supplies, I suggest you hold Havana until we can get a steady convoy set up between Pointe Quest and You. Anything Else? No? Then I'll send the go-ahead to President Reigez."

Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic.

Enrique Reigez is nervously pacing back and forth in front of his desk, waiting for news to come from Pointe Quest. The phone on his desk rings, and he almost sprints to go pick it up.

Reigez: "Hello?"

Flourent: "The First Fleet is en-route and on schedule, and the crew has been fully briefed on the mission. We expect to be at del Sur in about a day, and the second group will be in Havana two days after that."

Reigez: "Good, good. Keep me posted."

Flourent: "Yes, sir, Mr. President."

As Flourent hangs up, Reigez has already picked up a pre-written document on his desk, and is bringing it to his assistant...

The Caribbean League, on May the 29th of 2032, formally declares war on the Republic of Cuba.

The justification behind this declaration of war is the Republic of Cuba's:
Systematic oppression of its citizens,
Excessive use of force on civilians within the country,
Blatant ignorance of the will of the people, and
Numerous Infringements of Human Rights.

The League is declaring war with the goal of toppling the oppressive Castro regime and integrating the Second Cuban Republic into the Caribbean League.

On day one, I will end the fraud of HSA's and replace it with a universal single payer system. The HSA system allows the rich to get healthcare and leaves the poor to hell. I will end the 5-15-30 tax scam. I will have the rich pay 60, the middle 30, and the low 10. Why do we allow the rich to get richer, while the poor get poorer. As President, I will give the EPA a blank check to end the evils of coal and nuclear. I will encourage the solar industry. I will give Mexico independence to allow a sovereign nation to be restored. I will end the theft of the Global Aegis Federation and withdraw. I will end trade with the evil Paris gang and the Tokyo gang."
Cruz "The HSA system has doubled the level of healthcare in America. Look at the mess socialist care is. I always stand and speak and vote my conscience. The 5-15-30 tax system has allowed the nation to say that poverty is now below 5%. Our middle class is growing at an impressive rate. Simulations of the Democratic tax plan have the poverty at 17% and a shrinking middle class. My tax plan has allowed sustained 10% growth. He thinks that .5% growth is the best we should do. I say no. The EPA needs shut down and its power returned to the Commerce Department. I will allow coal and nuclear to allow the fix to our energy problems. Mexico is incapable of working on its own. We have brought wealth to Mexico. The Global Aegis Federation has brought peace to world. I will support and expand it."

Venezuelan Presidential Palace

Martinez was sat down on a lounge chair inside the main hall of the presidential palace, various upper-middle class workers and citizens bustling about in this incredibly important area of the political side of Venezuela. Sat with one leg over the over, he was on his phone after receiving an text message from Java Guivair, the head of the Venezuelan Ministry of Counter-terrorism. The text was particularly long for the simple message it was supposed to give, but he knew what it was. 'American Freedom Movement rebels... Ah, not much of a problem... In my eyes...' He thought to himself, before also reading the offer of 'White Peace' from the Peruvians. No no no. Martinez was far too angry the Peruvians set foot in West Venezuela (Colombia).

Meanwhile, a thought flutters around in his mind. Venezuela is a single party state, of which the Fidel family had complete control over - technically it could be described as a constitutional monarchy due to this aspect, which had Fidel thinking, why not officially declare Venezuela a monarchy?

Peruvian Front

After the push which pressed back the Peruvians into their own country, the Fuerzespeciales combined with the main force has shown no mercy in taking down the enemy they oppose, and due to propaganda they are given - despise. Some tribes in West Venezuela have even been conscripted into the main force as their land is torn apart by the war, but this has somewhat boosted the already incredible strength of the entire main force in Peru, which constantly sweep the jungles of north Peru.

The aircraft carrier 'Yizel' has launched dozens of sorties against the capital city of Lima and the surrounding agricultural and resource gathering areas, which is predicted to severely demoralise the Peruvians and force them to concede defeat... And maybe be the first nation to recognise Venezuela as the greatest nation in South America.

Luke, Thomas, and General Tso are all gathered in the Baikonur Cosmodrome awaiting the launch of Uranus I.
A technician looks over at Thomas and gives him a thumbs-up. Thomas picks up a microphone, and begins his speech as the

T - "I want to first thank you all for coming here, and being here for the first steps of Russia's space program. Russia has never had a prominent space program, but that changes today. Today, Uranus I will drop off a scientific satellite, and a more, weapon-like satellite. After doing this, Uranus I will return to this place, and ready itself for the next launch."

With that, the crowd gives a thunderous applause, which is then blocked by the deafening sound of the Uranus I shuttle taking off and beginning it's journey into the atmosphere.

T - "Good job Luke."
L - "Thank you."
G - "Are you sure the Pillars of Fire will work properly?"
L - "I am sure."

Thomas walks out of the launch room, and into a separate meeting room where scientists and military officials are already waiting.

As Mitchell was watching that favorite "soap opera", he recieved a letter from the French Union. It says they would like us to join the GAF. Mitchell having been a bit skeptical, he decided to write back but not with an actual answer. He needed to be convinced this would benefit the Treaty in the long run and not bog it down.
