I'm not particularly drawn to any one of the parties, but out of the lot, the Solar Party seems to be the most sensible of the bunch. I am curious how they have supporters on a gas giant, though. We talking chandelier cities?

So when humanity first arrived to Jupiter, they did the most sensible thing which was to try to terraform it. The project failed miserably. So they made these ports hovering in the skies. And made settlements out of them. They then expanded onto this, creating a mega-city that had sprawling metropolitan areas interconnected, a highly urban and energy-consuming environment. But as Jupiter grew, to sustain the population, the Jovian government established smaller colonies on an artificial ground which went all the way to the core, a bunch of rock was far more realistic then millions of watts. After exporting it all from pre-communist Mars, they build on this rock and it grew, so nowadays you have these mountains of rock that reach the once cities on the skies and have these dozen colonies linked to hubs of metropolitan areas linked to bigger sprawling mega-cities.
