Another thing about the nations that do real world things is that I find them both really lazy, not thinking about what events could happen in their fictional nation but merely copying reality(Personally, I kinda find that plagiarism to an extent), as well as breaking that unspoken contract about these worlds being fictional, with them inserting events of the real world.
Thinking about it, it is kinda appaling on a conceptual level.

Tbf though it depends on the lore of the nation. If the nation is set in another world/universe or even in a strangereal world, then including RL events in its lore would be honestly strange and awkward. RL events however would make much more sense or even unavoidable if the POD is early enough if the nation is set in the MT present-day, with said nation being the only nation that was added beforehand to MT present (barring realistic alt-hist implications). Though it would also be kinda sus if the only lore is composed of IRL events in 2022, without lore about one's nation's events. It can also serve a function towards others in the lore if done right.

In the case of Feyrisshire, there is indeed a gap in my lore. Feyrisshire existing from 1444 to the present day in Far East Siberia (or even in some other place if I retcon it later) would inevitably cause alt-history ripples that would change the trajectory of the present-day world. The reason that I don't do that is several reasons, and the RL events serve more as a "decorative background".

What unspoken contract? This is a game, people can RP their nations however they like, there has never been some secret unspoken rule that NS nations all only exist in fictional worlds completely unrelated to real life.
