It makes me chuckle every time it happens.

Cliché: if you have "north" in your country name, you will create a thread in international incidents to spark a civil war in the south.

How to tell people have read your factbooks-
1. Use a name for an account that is different from your country
2. Post on a F7 where your country's name must be used
3. People who use your account name clearly didn't read

To add on: I do have to say that plenty of FT nations do fall into a trap of heavily focusing on writing about their military and displaying how epic and mighty their army is without really fleshing out much else very well. It just looks more like a listing of stronk weaponry than anything else, not very good when it does.

For someone I have a distinct memory of someone on this site from years back who's factbook said something along the lines of 'all of our military's weapons fires a nuclear weapon' and I honestly can't help but laugh at that idea.

I'm pretty sure it was pre-factbook feature too, so probably like 2011 or some shit.

Ahhh yes. The good old cliché of when a supposedly FT nation has the same types of government, economic system and culture as what you can find in the modern day, and where the only change that happened between now and the future, is that we have spaceships and laserguns. Let's not think about how the massive robot army implies that in that world, AI and automation are good enough to have a bigger impact on broader society then BIG and STRONK military. Let's not think about how much ideas and movements the real life industrial revolution spawned, or the impact the internet has on culture. I think that one of the main problems of some military-focused nations is that you don't see a lot of civilian life.

To be fair, this is probably because it's so rare for anything else to come up in RP on NS and a lot of people are using real world cultures instead of making something up from scratch.
