Tbh I've seen people complain about the mods being tyrannical way more than the other, especially regarding the other forum.

Idk, from my experience, about half of the Moderation forum is just users asking mods to enforce more rules than they already are.

Having world destroying power whether it's millions of nukes or fantasy bullshit isn't so scary on NS when everyone has it. It's more fun to not have that stuff and RP as a regional power rather than competing for global hegemony.

If you mean NSG, then that is largely because certain folks operate under the mistaken impression that ‘freedom of speech’ means they can spit whatever vitriol they like without repercussions, and then gripe when repercussions happen.

Not sure if this thread is the right place to discuss this, but from what I understand, sometimes the rules may have a wide range of interpretation and that's up for the mods to decide. I mean, one mod may have different opinion than the other regarding if a post is deemed as rule-breaking or not, and it's not a rare thing I guess for them to gather (online) and discuss before giving their judgement on certain matter, especially if it's a controversial one.

I don't know, a setting where everyone has thousands of nukes and actually have to deal with the consequences of that issue -and conducting diplomacy where literally any dispute can go nuclear and end up destroying human civilization as we know it- is an interesting idea to work on.

Nukes literally maintain the bitter peace we have in the 21st century. Oh but nukes aren't fun? Then don't go and invade nations like a map painting game and act like consequences will never happen

Slight disagreement. What nukes do in real life is delegate the duty of fighting wars to smaller countries on behalf of large nuke-having countries. Now imagine if the small countries that will do the fighting for the great powers in proxy wars also have nukes. Iran-Iraq War simply won't happen if Tehran and Baghdad both have nukes. Give it enough time and either people agree to fight their wars without nukes (thus bringing up back to the 19th century state of affairs) or people agree to stop having disputes because any dispute, no matter how small, can escalate to global nuclear war.

I heard it argued many times before that police target areas prone to crime, and thus reporting more crime in those areas becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Couldn't that be applied to the NS Forums, where the mods target people with certain views because they're more prone to breaking the rules?

You'd be wrong, because the mods don't actively patrol the forums, they depend on private user reports to conduct punishments. NSG is the main target because surprise surprise, politics are heated especially in times of polarization like this.

Self-insert glorification, really. Babies first Leader tends to be either themselves or a character based upon themselves or whatever is the most stereotypical follower of whatever the latest ideological fad they followed is. Which then results in the logic of: If they are awesome and respected(Which usually never is the case because such people are lame in general) then the one writing that, whom he is based upon, also is awesome and respected.
