Nope, far too democratic for our liking.
The Empire of Murdenholl is a modern, technologically-advanced nation that exists in the frozen rigids of the far south. Imagine what would happen if a bunch of Vikings read '1984' by George Orwell and thought "hey, that sounds like a pretty good foundation for a society". Throw in some Game of Thrones-esque notion about divine blood, a revisionist attitude and power plays aplenty and you have what can be described as a very nasty, very dangerous and very cool place.
