Philosophy is dead, especially academic philosophy.

I fully agree. We especially live in a time where most people, at least thats how i percieve it, are too encumbered in their daily jobs or other mandatory activities which robs them the time to properly deal with the reality we live in. They decide too quickly what is right or wrong/ fall into echo chambers, instead of questioning a narrative, regardless where it would originate from.

I totally agree.
Many people point out the past (and present) historical mistakes of the Catholic Church, but forget its countless successes throughout its existence. If we have universities, courts with fair trials, studies and research based on the scientific method, banks, the State itself... You can thank the Catholic Church, which planted the seeds to grow into the way they are today.


The War on Terror may have had numerous mistakes and its agents committed abuses, but itself has proven somewhat effective, and even necessary, to decrease the hitherto rising wave of Islamic fundamentalist attacks worldwide.

Depends on what you like. If you like harvesting and staying in nature then rural life is for you, if you like to go to big malls and work in an office then urban life is for you. Although to be fair rural life is a bit healthier imo.

Modern Greek history is pretty underrated. You've got them winning their independence from the Ottoman Empire, kicking Italian arse, and the period of their military dictatorship is quite interesting to look into as well. Plus it's always fun to make fun of the Greek economy these days
