Those who said they dislike cats and dogs or other animals... *Often times* have not come across one. You can't preemptively dislike something without experience..

Many people who dislike dogs have a good fucking reason. Dogs sometimes attack people. Dogs can spread rabies. Most pet dogs(at least in the US) aren't trained to respect boundaries, and this tends to not help the reputation of all dogkind (especially when the handlers treat fear and boundaries as "You don't like dogs? You monster!"). While I like and love dogs, I don't blame anyone for disliking them.

Cats, on the other hand, are overstigmatised and underappreciated.

Japanese people should go see Pearl Harbor and the POW camps in Singapore, just like Westerners should go and see Hiroshima and Nagasaki, just like Germans should go and see Auschwitz. By going and seeing the horrific things that governments have done during war, hopefully people will see war as, at best a necessary evil, and fewer people will stomach it when their governments force them to fight, especially for evil causes
