Almost often times, it's some bureaucratic inefficiency that halts the whole thing. And I'm not even talking about politics. Agree. I think that understanding tolerance's nuances is much more empathetic than forcing "acceptance" down everyone's throats or preaching that all your enemies are immoral or whatnot. Tolerance is a key to a constructive discussion, family, and society, and to ignore that is to close yourself off to various opinions and new information that could help you strengthen yourself as a person as well as them. So, definitely agree.
