Disagree. While it may be possible to eventually have FTL, we'll have no idea until we find a way that works. However, going from the "Experiments show this works" phase to the "reasonable to use for a non-research application" point will probably be quick when compared to the scientific progress needed to find a solution.

About the only difference between my nation and beliefs is that free markets are effective in a select few situations, and the compulsory organ harvesting is kind of screwed up

I'm probably in the minority, but I actually pay more attention to in game stats than to roleplay
