1) Slightly edited the text. The island has no real life version of it. It is roughly placed, where the legend normally is on a globe - close to the date border.
2) Just because real-life nations suffer much from corruption does not mean mine has to suffer that much. Corruption isn`t "simply low", but it has its reasons e.g. in the mentality of the nation, reasons that become more obvious, the more you know what Teffland is about.
3) It can be understood as being about slavery, but needn`t be understood this way. (e.g. "possession of partner" in partnerships or being about exploitation of animals)
