Canon. Commonwealth is a near-future tech. Holiday Orbitals, translunar shuttles, Naicoms (near artificial intelligence companions), quantum computing, and Dinnies (direct neural interfaces) are commonplace for the 1% of the 1%. The poor are stuck with self-driving ground cars, 500 terabytes per second old style internet, and PDIs (Personal Data Interfaces) that are limited to 50 exabytes of data transfer per month. The average person has to work 15-20 hours a week to make ends meet, and they aren't going to take much more of it.

BN has at least one retrofuturist aspect.
